The manufactured crystal growth equipment is composed of holder unit for setting the halogen lamps at the focal point of the elliptical mirror, image furnace with maximum temperature of 1800℃ with 1kW halogen lamps, cooling unit, feeding unit for supplying source material to the molten zone, pulling unit for crystal growth, and the control unit in the range of 2mm/hr -40 mm/hr vertical movement and 15rpm - 12rpm rotation. Bi2Sr2CaCu2O8 fibers have been grown with 300W halogen lamps and characterized with XRD, SEM and EDS. The growth condition was air atmosphere, growth speed 3∼4mm/hr, rotation speed of upper and lower part 20∼25 rpm. The fiber was composed of 20∼25 rpm matrix phase and secondary phases such as (Sr,Ca)CuO2 and (Sr,Ca)2CuO3.

  • For a human being's smooth activity, the clean air and comfortable lighting environment are needed. The suitable lighting environment is obtained generally by making it available for being formed the bright situation easy for seeing object and the visually comfortable atmosphere. In this way, even the lighting environment was changed along with economic development. Even a light source was diversified. Thus, several kinds of new light sources such as LED, OLED, PLS, and CNT came to appear. Halogen lamp, which has low efficiency due to high color rendering among lamps of being used now, is being much used yet. However, owing to radiation of UV and IR, there are many limitations to the subject in general exhibition lighting, museum, and art museum. Accordingly, a research was performed on filter that is blocked UV and IR at the same time, by using halogen lamp that is excellent in color rendering and in life.

  • We measured color rendering index(CRI) of a LED lamp for lighting for aging-time. We chose bulb type white LED lamp six samples and halogen lamp one sample and applied 220V, 60Hz to all the samples for 1,000hours at ordinary temperature. The CRI was measured every 20hours and the CRI change of the LED lamp was compared with the halogen lamp's CRI change. As time goes, efficiency of the halogen lamp decreased and the CRI maintained uniformly. The other hand, efficiency of the LED lamp decreased but the CRI increased. The CRI of the LED lamp has been stabilized since 600hours. The CRI change of the LED lamp was analyzed with a spectrum, color coordinate and color temperature.

  • A study on that LED in 36[W] class replaces broadcast illuminator to save energy and improve the quality of film because tungsten halogen illuminators are too hot and spending lots of electrical capacity at the time of camera shooting. And the following result was obtained .36[w] LED lighting fixture's illuminance is lower than 1[kw] halogen Light but object's illuminance became higher, and at the image be showed very bright and softly.

  • A quantitative analysis method of halogen elements in volatile organohalogen compounds was established by the Wickbold combustion pretreatment in an enclosed system and ion chromatography. The sample pretreatment parameters of Wickbold combustion were experimentally optimized, and using the determined optimal pretreatment parameters, the reproducibility was estimated by ion chromatography. As a comparison for real samples, NIST certified reference materials (CRMs) were analyzed for the recovery efficiency and reproducibility.

  • A Radioactive constraint of the nuclear fuel assembly irradiated by neutron during normal operation cycle of the nuclear power plant is typically on the order of about 3 kGy/h. In order to inspect nuclear fuel assembly using a VT (vision technology) system, the light such as halogen lamp is used. As the halogen lamp has lower color temperature than the sun light, the objects under halogen lamp illumination are seemed to be tinted with red. In this paper, high brightness LED is considered to be used as the light source of VT system. The high brightness LED, which is a key light source of the VT system, have been gamma irradiated at the dose rate of 4 kGy/h during two hours up to a total dose of 8 kGy. The radiation induced color-center in the LED housing cap made of plastics materials is observed.

  • This study analyzed the effects of light-shielding curtains and halogens on spectrum when acquiring hyperspectral images in a greenhouse. The image data of tarp (1.4*1.4 m, 12%) with 30 degrees of angles was achieved three times with four conditions depending on 14 heights using the automatic image acquisition system installed in the greenhouse at the department of Southern Area of National Institute of Crop Science. When the image was acquired without both a light-shielding curtain and halogen lamp, there was a difference in spectral tendencies between direct light and shadow parts on the base of 550 nm. The average coefficient of variation (CV) for direct light and shadow parts was 1.8% and 4.2%, respective. The average CV value was increased to 12.5% regardless of shadows. When the image was acquired only used a halogen lamp, the average CV of the direct light and shadow parts were 2 .6% and 10.6%, and the width of change on the spectrum was increased because the amount of halogen light was changed depending on the height. In the case of shading curtains only used, the average CV was 1.6%, and the distinction between direct light and shadows disappeared. When the image was acquired using a shading curtain and halogen lamp, the average CV was increased to 10.2% because the amount of halogen light differed depending on the height. When the average CV depending on the height was calculated using halogen and light-shielding curtains, it was 1.4% at 0.1m and 1.9% at 0.2 m, 2 .6% at 0.3m, and 3.3% at 0.4m of height, respectively. When hyperspectral imagery is acquired, it is necessary to use a shading curtain to minimize the effect of shadows. Moreover, in case of supplementary lighting by using a halogen lamp, it is judged to be effective when the size of the object is less than 0.2 m and the distance between the object and the housing is kept constant.

  • This study analyzes economic feasibility of the LED lighting system compare to the halogen. To evaluate economic feasibility of the LED devices, we analyzed the size of theater, current value of the lighting devices in kinds, annual cost and annual cost according to the surface in case of designing stage lighting system with LED using WEELS 2011. Also, to compare energy consumption, we analyzed consumption and amount of electric energy by the surface and the amount of CO2 emission. Data showed that annual cost of the LED devices are highly inexpensive than halogen and now the value is of great. However initial cost of the equipment 200% higher than halogen. Though LED devices are expensive in startup setting, the value of utilization factor is large and depreciation years of LED(30years) are longer than halogen(2years). Therefore, annual cost of LED can make up the minus. Consider the tendency of reducing price of LED devices, we can assume that annual cost of the LED will be lower than halogen devices. Further, in 3years the expense of LED and halogen is reversed.

  • The purpose of study was to compare the plasma arc light with the halogen light in compostie resin curing. Three composite resin materials(Z-100, 3M, USA; Tetric Ceram, Vivadent, Liechtenstein; SureFil, Dentsply, USA) were filled in the teflon molds (4mm in diameter and 2, 3, 4, 5mm in thickness) and cured with either the conventional low-intensity light curing unit with a halogen lamp (Optilux 360, Demetron, U.S.A.) for duration of 40 seconds or with the high-intensity light curing unit with a plasma arc lamp (Flipo, Lokki, France) for duration of 3, 6, and 9 seconds. The intensity of halogen light was about $370mW/cm^2$ and that of plasma light was about $1,900mW/cm^2$. After one week, the surface hardnesses of both the top and the bottom of the resin samples were measured with a microhardness tester(MXT70, Matsuzawa, Japan). There were significant differences in the hardness between the top and the bottom of the resin samples except the 2mm thickness samples cured by halogen light for 40s or by plasma light for 9s. There was no significant difference between the hardness values of the top surfaces of the thickness groups. The hardness values of the bottom surfaces decreased as the curing time decreased and as the thickness of resin samples increased, and the three kinds of resin composites showed similar patterns. The results suggest that the halogen light for 40 seconds might be able to cure greater depth of resin composites than the plasma light for 3, 6, or 9 seconds.
