철골 및 합성기둥 내화성능 확보를 위한 내화페인트 열적 물성치 규명과 소요두께 제안 (Clarification of the Thermal Properties of Intumescent Paint and Suggestion of the Required Fire Protection Thickness for Steel and Composite columns)

  • Other countries(USA, Europe) have performed the fire resistance design of buildings by the alternative performance design methods, which are based on fire engineering theories. However, in Korea, the process on the alternative fire resistance performance design has only suggested without any applications for real steel structures. Therefore, In the case of steel structures stagnant research on refractory measures face difficulties in introducing fire resistance design. In this study, first of all, Intumescent paint was analyze the thermal properties(thermal conductivity, specific heat and density). In Sequence, using the section factor by H-standard section propose of section concrete filled steel tube and hollow. finally presents a reasonable thickness Intumescent paint takes time to target performance of the proposed cross-section steel tube.

  • In order to reduce weight of a high-speed railroad vehicle, the main body has been manufactured by hollow section extrusion using aluminum alloys. A porthole die has utilized for the hollow section extrusion process, which causes complicated die geometry and flow characteristics. Design of porthole die is very difficult due to such a complexity. The three-dimensional finite element analysis for hollow section is also an arduous job from the viewpoint of appropriate mesh construction and tremendous computation time. In the present work, mismatching refinement, an efficient domain decomposition method with different mesh density for each subdomain, is implemented for the analysis of the hollow section extrusion process. In addition, a modified grid-based approach with the surface element layer is utilized lot three-dimensional mesh generation of a complicated shape with hexahedral elements. The effects of porthole design are discussed through the simulation for extrusion of an underframe part of a railroad vehicle. An experiment has also been carried out for the comparison. Comparing the velocity distribution at the outlet with the thickness variation of the extruded part, it is concluded that the analysis results can provide reliable measures whether the die design is acceptable to obtain uniform part thickness. The analysis results are then successfully reflected on the industrial porthole die design.

Left Common Femoral to Right Common Iliac Venous Bypass Through a Retroperitoneal Exposure

  • The endovascular recanalization of the iliocaval system has replaced venous surgical reconstructions as the primary treatment option in severe post-thrombotic syndrome (PTS). We herein present a 51-year-old female with previous deep venous thrombosis, complicated with PTS with a large and complex circumferential calf ulcer measuring 25 cm of length in the left lower extremity. Venogram revealed a complete and extensive occlusion in the left iliofemoral system. A surgical bypass from the left common femoral vein to the right common iliac vein was performed. Patient recovered well and after 12 months postoperation her large wound is healing favorably with a clean and well granulated bed. Iliofemoral venous bypass is a feasible treatment for non-healing ulcer of lower extremity.

Buckling Strength Increment of Curved Panels Due to Rotational Stiffness of Closed-Section Ribs Under Uniaxial Compression

  • Recently, there have been studies about the increasing effect on the local plate buckling strength of flat plates when longitudinally stiffened with closed-section ribs and an approximate solution to quantitatively estimate these effects were suggested for flat plates. Since there are few studies to utilize such increasing effect on curved panels and a proper design method is not proposed, thus, this study aims to numerically evaluate such effect due to the rotational stiffness of closed-section ribs on curved panels and to propose an approximate method for estimating the buckling strength. Three-dimensional finite element models were set up using a general structural analysis program ABAQUS and a series of parametric numerical analyses were conducted in order to examine the variation of buckling stresses along with the rotational stiffness of closed-section ribs. By using a methodology that combine the strength increment factor due to the restraining effect by closed-section ribs and the buckling coefficient of the panel curvature, the approximate solutions for the estimation of buckling strength were suggested. The validity of the proposed methods was verified through a comparative study with the numerical analysis results.

H형강 교량의 성능개선을 위한 다단계 온도프리스트레싱 효과 분석 (Effects of Multi-stepwise TPSM on Improving the Behavior of H-beam bridge)

  • H형강 교량은 공장에서 압연 제작한 H형강을 주형과 가로보로 사용함에 따라 품질 및 관리가 용이하고 공장제작으로 현장작업 및 공사기간의 단축과 보강재의 설치량이 적은 단순하고 경제적인 교량형식이다. 본 연구는 기존 H형강 교량의 지간 및 단면 효율 개선을 위한 방법으로 다단계 온도프리스트레싱(Multi-Stepwise TPSM) 공법을 H형강 교량에 적용하여 도입효과 및 적용지간을 분석하였다. 구조해석결과 H형강교의 다단계 온도프리스트레싱 효과는 H-$900{\times}300$형강을 이용한 30m 5주형 H형강교량을 기준으로 기존 플레이트 거더 교량의 높이를 50.7~55.1%, 중량을 24.1~26.2% 수준으로 감소시킬 수 있는 것으로 평가되었다. 또한 7주형 H형강교량의 주형수를 5주형으로 감소시켜 경제적인 교량건설이 가능한 것으로 나타나 온도프리스트레싱이 도입된 H형강 교량은 기존 H형강과 비교하여 중소지간용 교량으로 충분한 경제성을 가질 수 있을 것으로 판단된다.

카세트롤러와 홀다이를 이용한 원형소재에서 사각형 단면 인발 비교 (Comparison of Square Section Drawings from Circular Billets through Cassette-Roller-Dies and Hole Die)

  • In the drawing from round billet to non-circular section there are two different processes through solid hole die(HD) and the other cassette roller dies(CRD). The CRD process has several cassette type rollers and a billet is able to move through the given gaps between two profiled rollers. The objective of this study is based on the analysis and evaluation of two aforementioned processes using experiments and finite element simulation. In order to simulate the multi-stage drawing process from circular sectioned billet to rounded square section, the finite element analysis is applied to the process using a commercially available DEFORM-3D code. Two types of experimental drawing tests through designed and manufactured dies for pure copper and aluminum alloy are carried out at room temperature. The analysis included comparison of material properties before and after drawing of each process and also provide some useful information by a FEM simulation.

Sex Reversal Pattern of Wrasse in Jeju Coastal Waters

  • Eleven wrasse species inhabit the coastal waters of Jeju Island, Korea. They are the target of leisure fishing and are considered good eating. We investigated the distribution of standard length (SL) by sex of wrasse in Jeju coastal waters for Halichores poecilopterus, H. tenuispinis, Pseudolabrus japonicus, and Pteragogus flagellifera. A cross-section of the ovary showed the ovarian cavity and ovarian lamellae containing oocytes. A cross-section of the testis showed many lobules containing spermatogonia and spermatocytes. A cross-section of a gonad undergoing sex reversal showed the regression or reduction of oocytes and some spermatocytes located in the ovarian lamellae. A cross-section of a sex-reversed testis showed the primary structure of the ovary, with spermatocytes distributed in the epithelium of the lamellae, and reformed seminiferous ducts in the basement lamellae. 나선형 3엽 블로어의 임펠러 단면설계 (A study on the design of cross-section of impeller for 3-lobes blower)

  • The 3-lobes blower has been conventionally made by constructing the impeller with the cross-section of simple arc, and has several problems such as noise, vibration and the oscillation of torque. These are caused by the variation of clearance between both impellers rotating in geared. In the present study, an approach for the design of cross-section of impeller has been proposed to prevent the above problems. The whole cross-section is divided into the concave and convex part. The concave zone is designed by simple arc and the convex zone is modified by the condition that some part of convex zone is always in contact with the other impeller during rotating. A sample design has been carried out and it can be seen that the clearance between both impellers is always uniform and the validity of present work has been verified.

  • The progression of the solidification wave front in V-section and finned casting was studied by use of the pour-out test, employed with high. Purity aluminum. The results obtained were as follows; a) The shape of solidification wave front at the inside and outside corners did not change according to solidification time, but it changes according to the corner angles at a given molding and melting condition. b) The cooling fin effect could be repserented as functions of solidification time and fin sise, and this result could be applied to enhance the accuracy of the section modulus method in the design of T and V section.

  • 무개형 콘테이너 선박에 대한 구조 설계 과정에 최적화 기법을 적용하여 최적 구조 시스템을 개발하였다. 중앙 단면 설계 기법으로는 L.R rules을 이용하였고 목적 함수는 중앙 단면 모든 종강도 부재 단면적의 합, 즉 최소 중량을 선택하였다. 최적화 기법으로는 직접탐색법에 SUMT방법을 결합시켜 사용하였다. 최소 중량 설계를 수행한 결과 실적선과 비교하여 8.0%의 중량감소를 보인 최적화 설계를 도출하였다.
