3상 변압기를 이용한 절연형 멀티레벨 인버터 (Isolated Multi-level Inverter Using 3-Phase Transformers)

  • 본 논문에서는 3상 저주파 변압기를 이용한 절연형 멀티레벨 인버터를 제안한다. 제안된 인버터는 3상 절연형 변압기를 이용함으로 비절연형 멜티레벨 인버터와 달리 단일 직류 전원을 사용할 수 있는 장점이 있으며, 기존의 단상 변압기를 이용한 3상 멀티레벨 인버터에 비하여 변압기의 수를 줄일 수 있다. 또한 출력 기본주파수와 동일한 스위칭 주파수로 동작하는 스위칭 각 제어 방식을 통하여 출력 전압의 저차 고조파 성분과 스위치 손실을 줄일 수 있었다. Matlab을 이용한 시뮬레이션 및 실험을 통하여 제안된 방식의 타당성을 검증 하였다.

  • This paper is analyzed a new modulation method of OSW(Optimized Sine-Wave) modulation strategy for cascaded H-bridge multi-level inverter. The inverter structure was modified with the maximum output voltage level, and the switching angle was calculated easily to adjust the requested Vrms of the output. The suggested modulation method could make output waveform very close to the ideal sine wave, and the THD value was improved also remarkably.

CHB 인버터 셀의 데드타임 구현 방법 (Dead-Time Implementation Method for CHB Inverter Cells)

  • This study proposes a dead-time implementation method suitable for cell voltage control of a cascaded H-bridge (CHB) inverter. The PWM module of an existing microcontroller cannot generate a maximum voltage due to the dead-time effect when used as the cell controller of the CHB inverter. In the proposed method, the operation method of the PWM module was changed without using the dead time module included in the existing microcontroller, so that the cell output voltage can be increased to the maximum voltage without voltage discontinuity. During the maximum voltage generation period, the full turn-on state can be maintained without unnecessary switching. The validity of the proposed method is confirmed through an experiment.

  • This paper proposes a novel UPFC based on 3-level Half-bridge modules, isolated through single-phase multi-winding transformers. The dynamic performance of proposed system was analyzed by simulation with EMTDC, assuming that the UPFC is connected with the 138-kV transmission line of one-machine-infinite-bus power system. The proposed system can be directly connected to the transmission line without series injection transformers. It has flexibility in expanding the operation voltage by increasing the number of 3-level Half-bridge modules.

  • this paper suggest a new space vector PWM modulation method with short processing time which does not need idenfication of nearest three vectors(NTV) and duty calculation for each vector. The suggested PWM method makes mean value of phase voltage to be same as reference during every modulation period by use of a triangle in small hexagon on multi-level vector space. This paper described the suggested modulation method can be successfully applied to the space vector modulation use of multi-level inverter by computer simulations and experiments.

  • In this paper, an improved model predictive control (MPC) method is proposed, which reduces the amount of calculations caused by the increased number of candidate voltage vectors with the increased voltage level in multi-level inverters. When the conventional MPC method is used for multi-level inverters, all candidate voltage vectors are considered to predict the next-step current value. However, in the case that the sampling time is short, increased voltage level makes it difficult to consider the all candidate voltage vectors. In this paper, the improved MPC method which can get a fast transient response is proposed with a small amount of the computation by adding new candidate voltage vectors that are set to find the optimal vector. As a result, the proposed method shows faster transient response than the method that considers the adjacent vectors and reduces the computational burden compared to the method that considers the whole voltage vector. the performance of the proposed method is verified through simulations and experiments.

  • 본 논문은 대용량 진력변환장치인 멀티-레벨 인버터 시스템에서 출력 전압가변이 손쉬운 HBML(H-Bridge Multi-Level) 인버터의 Master와 Cell 제어기 구성에 관한 것이다. HBML 인버터는 각각의 단위 Cell을 저압에서 사용하는 인버터로 구성하면, 구조적으로 풀-브릿지(Full-Bridge) 인버터를 캐스케이드 방식으로 연결하여 고압출력을 얻을 수 있는 토폴로지이다. 시스템에서 Master와 Cell의 제어 처리를 한곳에 집중하지 않는 분산 제어 방식을 적용하여 통신 Data를 최적화하도록 구성하고, 이를 바탕으로 두 제어기를 고성능 원-칩(One-Chip) DSP로만 설계하였다. 모든 외부 모듈을 내장한 CPU로 제어기가 구성될 경우, 외부 노이즈에 강하며, 추가되는 하드웨어 결선을 최소화할 수 있다. 본 논문에서는 HBML 인버터 출력 생성 시 반드시 요구되는 출력 PWM 동기 및 위상전이(Phase Shift)를 각 제어기 자체에 내장된 모듈만을 이용해서 구현하였다.

  • 종래의 준 랜덤 주파수 캐리어(PRC : Pseudo-Randomized Frequency Carrier) 변조기법을 3상 H-브리지 멀티레벨 인버터(HBML: H-Bridge Multi-Level Inverter)에 적용하는 경우, 스위칭 주파수의 2배 주파수 영역에서 큰 스펙트럼 클러스터가 그대로 존재하는 문제점이 있다. 본 연구에서는 서로 2배의 주파수 비율을 갖는 2개의 고정주파수 삼각파 캐리어와 3단계 멀티플렉서(MUX : Multiplexer)를 이용하여 종래의 PRC기법의 고조파 스펙트럼 확산 효과를 개선하였다. 제안된 기법은 1.5[kw]급 3상 HBML인버터 구동시스템에 적용하였으며, 종전의 방법과 제안된 방법의 전압 및 전류 고조파 스펙트럼을 비교 검토하였다.

Differential Power Processing System for the Capacitor Voltage Balancing of Cost-effective Photovoltaic Multi-level Inverters

  • The Differential Power Processing (DPP) converter is a promising multi-module photovoltaic inverter architecture recently proposed for photovoltaic systems. In this paper, a DPP converter architecture, in which each PV-panel has its own DPP converter in shunt, performs distributed maximum power point tracking (DMPPT) control. It maintains a high energy conversion efficiency, even under partial shading conditions. The system architecture only deals with the power differences among the PV panels, which reduces the power capacity of the converters. Therefore, the DPP systems can easily overcome the conventional disadvantages of PCS such as centralized, string, and module integrated converter (MIC) topologies. Among the various types of the DPP systems, the feed-forward method has been selected for both its voltage balancing and power transfer to a modified H-bridge inverter that needs charge balancing of the input capacitors. The modified H-bridge multi-level inverter had some advantages such as a low part count and cost competitiveness when compared to conventional multi-level inverters. Therefore, it is frequently used in photovoltaic (PV) power conditioning system (PCS). However, its simplified switching network draws input current asymmetrically. Therefore, input capacitors in series suffer from a problem due to a charge imbalance. This paper validates the operating principle and feasibility of the proposed topology through the simulation and experimental results. They show that the input-capacitor voltages maintain the voltage balance with the PV MPPT control operating with a 140-W hardware prototype.

  • Recently, the interest on power quality has been hot issue. The equipments cause voltage disturbance and has become more sensitive to the voltage disturbance. This paper deals with 5-Level H-Bridge Line-Inter active Dynamic Voltage Restorer(LIDVR) system. The LIDVR has following advantages in comparison with the DVR with series injection transformer It has the power factor near to unity under normal source voltage, can compensate the harmonic current of the load and the instant interruption, and has the fast response. First, the construction, the operation mode and algebraic modeling of LIDVR are reviewed. And then a voltage controller is proposed to get sinusoidal load voltage with constant amplitude. To find PWM method suitable for H-Bridge converter, two PWM methods are compared and analyzed. Finally, simulation results verify the proposed 5-level H-Bridge LIDVR system.
