경기미의 유통개선 방안에 관한 연구;미곡종합처리장의 벼 가공 및 판매를 중심으로 (Improvement of Marketing and Distribution of Gyeonggi Rice Brand)

  • Gyeonggi rice has been placed relatively favorable market position in the domestic rice market. With the superiority of its quality, gyeonggi rice has been well recognized to consumers. The price of gyeonggi rice has placed higher position than that of others. But, gyeonggi rice are facing crisis on the competition by regional brands. Therefore, this study was carried out to find the differentiated marketing strategies on problem related with the product differentiation and brand marketing of gyeonggi rice. In order to find out how much the effort on the product differentiation of gyeonggi rice affects the price and brand recognition, fifty RPCs in gyeonggi province were surveyed. As the results, $22{\sim}23%$ of harvested rice which was gathered into RPC was come out 'obscurity of production origin' when we consider material hull rice in the original production territory by collecting time and channel. With comparing sales weight of gyeonggi rice by the place of shipment, agricultural cooperative channel was the highest by 44.7%. And, wholesaler comes to 17.7%, discount outlet store was 13.9%, large quantity delivery in business was 11.1%, and department store was only 5.2%. Finally, we could consider to adopt the traceability system on gyeonggi rice distribution system from production to consumers' table to get consumers' credibility and compete imported high quality rice.

경기도 화성시 20년간(2001~2020) 기후변화와 벼 수량 변화 (Climate Change and Rice Yield in Hwaseong-si Gyeonggi-do over the Past 20 Years (2001~2020))

  • BACKGROUND: Rice production by the current standard cultivation method is predicted to decrease due to global warming. It seems that there has been a strong warming trend in Hwaseong-si, Gyeonggi-do. This study attempted to understand the climate change in Hwaseongsi, Gyeonggi-do and to analyze the effect of climate change on rice production. METHODS AND RESULTS: The statistical and physicochemical analyses were performed using the rice cultivar 'Chucheongbyeo' yields grown at the rice paddy field plot in the Gyeonggi-do Agricultural Research and Extension Services and the weather data measured in near the rice paddy plot. CONCLUSION(S): There was no significant difference between the average rice yields per area in 2000s (2001~2010) and 2010s (2011~2020), but the rice yield variability was greater in 2010s than in 2000s. The mean, minimum, maximum temperature, and the sunshine hours were evaluated for the correlation with the rice yield. The understanding of climate change in Hwaseong-si, Gyeonggi-do and the major weather factors affecting changes in rice yield, presented in this study, would enhance scientific understanding of regional climate change, and improve rice cultivation management.

경기도 화성시 벼 재배지의 기후스마트 농업 기반의 평가 (Climate-Smart Agriculture(CSA)-Based Assessment of a Local Rice Cultivation in Hwaseong-city, Gyeonggi-do)

  • BACKGROUND: Climate-smart agriculture (CSA) has been proposed for sustainable agriculture and food security in an agricultural ecosystem disturbed by climate change. However, scientific approaches to local agricultural ecosystems to realize CSA are rare. This study attempted to evaluate the weather condition, rice production, and greenhouse gas emissions from the rice cultivation in Hwaseong-si, Gyeonggi-do to fulfill CSA of the rice cultivation. METHODS AND RESULTS: Over the past 3 years (2017~2019), Chucheong rice cultivar yield and methane emissions were analyzed from the rice field plot (37°13'15"N, 127° 02'22"E) in the Gyeonggi-do Agricultural Research and Extension Services located in Gisan-dong, Hwaseong-si, Gyeonggi-do. Methane samples were collected from three automated closed chambers installed in the plot. The weather data measured through automatic weather station located in near the plot were analyzed. CONCLUSION(S): The rice productivity was found to vary with weather environment in the agricultural ecosystem. And methane emissions are high in a favorable weather condition for rice growth. Therefore, it is necessary to minimize the trade-off between the greenhouse gas emission target for climate change mitigation and productivity improvement for CSA in a local rice cultivation.

Internet-based Information System for Agricultural Weather and Disease and Insect fast management for rice growers in Gyeonggi-do, Korea

  • The Gyeonggi-do Agricultural Research and Extension Services has developed a web-site (www.epilove.com) in collaboration with EPINET to provide information on agricultural weather and rice disease and insect pest management in Gyeonggi-do. Weather information includes near real-time weather data monitored by automated weather stations (AWS) installed at rice paddy fields of 11 Agricultural Technology Centers (ATC) in Gyeonggi-do, and weekly weather forecast by Korea Meteorological Administration (KMA). Map images of hourly air temperature and rainfall are also generated at 309m x 309m resolution using hourly data obtained from AWS installed at 191 locations by KMA. Based on near real-time weather data from 11 ATC, hourly infection risks of rice blast, sheath blight, and bacterial grain rot for individual districts are estimated by disease forecasting models, BLAST, SHBLIGHT, and GRAINROT. Users can diagnose various diseases and insects of rice and find their information in detail by browsing thumbnail images of them. A database on agrochemicals is linked to the system for disease and insect diagnosis to help users search for appropriate agrochemicals to control diseases and insect pests.

경기지역과 다른 지역에서 생산된 추청벼의 특성에 관한 연구 (Studies on Rice Quality of Chucheongbyeo Cultivated on Gyeonggi and Other Province)

  • This study was carried out to find out rice quality of Chucheongbyeo cultivated on Gyeonggj and other province. Rice type, color difference, amylograph of milled rice and texturograph of cooked rice were not significant between two cultivated region. And fat, protein, Mg and Ca in milled rice were not significant but p, K and Na were significantly different at l% the level between them as 2, 210~2, 420ppwt 1, 304~1, 538ppm and 212~236ppm in Gyeonggi province cultivated rice, and 2, 130~2, 180ppm, 1, 133~1, 180ppm and 197~217ppm in other province, respectively. Also amylose content, alkali distribution and gel consistency were not significant between them.

경기와 경북지역의 제수 비교 연구 (Research on the comparison on the ritual food of Gyeonggi and Gyungsangbuk-do province)

  • The awareness of ritual foods in general rituals were surveyed and compared in the Gyeonggi and Gyungsangbuk-do areas in order to identify the characteristics of Korean rituals and establish desirable ritual foods. As materials for "Jeon" (fried pan cakes) in rituals, fish fillets, meat and vegetables were largely used in the Gyeonggi region. In the Gyeongbuk region, all three of these ingredients were the most highly used for "Jeon" also. In the case of rice cakes, "Songpyun" steamed on a layer of pine needles, "Jeolpyun" and "Sirudduk", with a red beans, were mostly used in Gyeonggi-do, while "Songpyun", "Jeolpyun" and "Ingelmi" were largely used in Gyeongsangbuk-do. As seasoned vegetables and herbs, fernbrakes, root of bell flowers, green bean sprouts and bean sprouts were largely used in Gyeonggi-do region, whereas, fernbrakes, bean sprouts, root of bell flowers and spinaches were mainly used in Gyeongbuk region. The use of fernbrakes was highest in both regions. With regard to the number of side dishes, 2∼3 kinds of seasoned herbs and 3∼4 kinds of fruits were mostly used, but with slightly higher numbers in the Gyeongsangbuk-do than the Gyeonggi-do region. With regard to liquor used for rituals, clear strained rice wine was used most in the Gyeonggi-do area, while more unrefined rice wine was used in the Gyeongbuk region. Meat was the most used ingredient in broth slices of dried meat and cod were highly used in the Gyeonggi region, but slices of dried squid were most widely used in the Gyeongbuk region. Most households in both regions tended not to use raw fish in the rituals, and as for the ingredients of Korean Kabobs, meat was the most widely used, then fish and finally vegetables were the most used ingredients. Beef soup was the most used, but more green vegetable soup was used in the Gyeongbuk than the Gyeonggi region. Sweet drink made from fermented rice (sikhe) was generally used in the rituals. It was the most widely used in the Chusok-Hangawi Ritual in the Gyeonggi region, while it was used in the New Year's Ritual in the Gyeongbuk region.

An adaptable to climatic change and early maturing rice variety 「Gawaji 1」 for double cropping system in Gyeonggi-Do, northern area of South Korea

  • 'Gawaji 1', an early maturing and low amylose content rice variety adaptable to double cropping system with barley as later winter crop., was developed by the crop breeding team of Crop Research Division, GARES, Hwaseong, Korea in 2016. 'Gawaji 1' was derived from a cross between 'Baegjinju' and 'Sangmibyeo' in 2004. This variety had heading date of August 4 in Gyeonggi Province. It had a semi-elect plant type and resistance to lodging with strong culm. Its culm length was 67 cm. This variety had 15 tillers per hill and 104 spikelets per panicle. It was medium grain variety showing 1,000 grain weight of brown rice of 19.3g. Its protein contents of milled rice was 8.2% which was lower than 'Baegjinju'. Its milling ratio was 75.5% which was higher than 'Baegjinju'. The yield of milled rice was 5.0 MT/ha under the ordinary culture of the local adaptability test in 3 areas of Gyeonggi Province for three years. 'Gawaji1' is highly adaptable to Gyeonggi Province, especially to northern region of Han River.

전자지도 이용 변량시비가 쌀 수량 및 품질에 미치는 영향 (Influence of Site-specific Fertilizer Application Using GPS and Digital Fertility Map on Rice Yield and Quality)

  • 지구온난화 등에 따른 세계적 환경변화에 대응하고 정부의 친환경 농업육성 정책에 부응하는 정밀농업기술 중 GPS를 이용한 이앙과 동시 변량시비가 벼 생육 및 품질에 미치는 영향을 구명한 결과는 다음과 같다. 1. 시험전 후 토양 질소검정량에 대한 공간변이 정도를 나타내는 Nugget값은 관행 대비 변량시비 후 낮아졌고, 공간구조 강도를 나타내는 Q값은 두 처리 모두 없어 공간의 존성이 존재하지 않았다. 2. 분얼기부터 성숙기까지 초장, 경수, 수수 등의 생육량은 관행 대비 변량시비에서 증가되었고 생육 요인별 변이계수가 낮아 상대적으로 균일한 경향을 보였다. 3. 완전미 수량은 관행 450 kg 대비 변량시비에서 492 kg으로 유의성 있게 증가 되었고 변이계수는 현저히 낮아졌다. 4. 아밀로스, 단백질 함량, 백도 등 품질은 처리간 큰 차이가 없었으나 변이계수는 변량시비에서 낮아졌다. 5. 비료살포작업에 대한 투입노동력은 관행 11.8시간/ha 대비 변량시비에서 61%(7.2시간)가 절감 되었다.
