전열화학가속 소요기술 및 연구개발현황 (Technology and the R&D Status for Electro_Thermal_Chemical Gun)

  • In this paper, the new technology and R&D status is presented, which accelerates the projectile using the electrical energy to overcome the limit of the conventional gun. The ETC (electro_thermal_chemical) gun, one kind of electric guns, seems to be the highly probable candidate as the next generation gun. The high density power supply and the forming and control of the current pulse are required to develop the ETC gun. And, the interior ballistics considered the mechanism of ETC gun must to be studied.

주사전자현미경을 활용한 세라믹의 분석 (Analysis of Ceramics Using Scanning Electron Microscopy)

  • A ceramic is used as a key material in various fields. Accordingly, the use of scanning electron microscopy is increased for the purpose of evaluating the reliability and defects of advanced ceramic materials. The scanning electron microscope is developed to overcome the limitations of optical microscopy and uses accelerated electrons for imaging. Various signals such as SE, BSE and characteristic X-rays provide useful information about the surface microstructure of specimens and, the content and distribution of chemical components. The development of electron guns, such as FEG, and the improved lens system combined with the advanced in-lens detectors and STEM-in-SEM system have expanded the applications of SEM. Automated SEM-EDS analysis also greatly increases the amount of data, enabling more statistically reliable results. In addition, X-ray CT, XRF, and WDS, which are installed in scanning electron microscope, have transformed SEM a more versatile analytical equipment. The performance and specifications of the scanning electron microscope to evaluate ceramics were reviewed and the selection criteria for SEM analysis were described.

  • Thomson's jumping ring was first exhibited by Elihu Thomson in 1887 and modified to include the floating variation by John A. Fleming in 1890. This vivid demonstration of electromagnetic induction is still used in physics classrooms to illustrate Faraday's and Lenz's laws and is the basis for linear actuators for sorvo-mechanical purpose as well as induction heating and rail guns. The jumping ring apparatus of the type described in this study is used to demonstrate and educate the effects of electromagnetic induction. To verify control algorithm, a sensor system and a data control/measurement system is required. The sensor system consist of photo-interrupted and encode circuit which is designed to take voltage according to the position of ring.

  • The high current pulsed power systems(PPS) for rail guns, ET and ETC accelerators require many components of very high cost. If one failed to select component specifications based on optimal design, cost effective and reliable PPS could not be obtained. It is very significant to study a preliminary circuit scheme and to determine optimal specifications via circuit simulation before constructing the PPS based on modulized capacitor banks. The optimal crowbar resistor value, module inductance was determined in view of energy loss, the voltage reversal of capacitors and the transient current of crowbar diodes.

  • Because of simple principal and low cost, resistance spot welding has been used a lot for joining the sheet metal in automotive manufacturing process. Welding current, welding time, and force are the most important variables in resistance spot wording. Air guns have hem still used widely. The requirement of synchronizing between robot and weld-gun has become bigger as the field has been automated. The number of servo-gun in the field is trending upward because there're advantages as like to synchronize with robot and to control the stroke path and force by programming on servo-gun system. But no cleared force control method is suggested on servo-gun system until now. In this study, we proved the feedback current of the servo-motor can be used to an excellent force measuring sensor and the force is controlled by the feedback current. And we also detected force lowering during welding cycle on the servo-gun system and solved by compensated force control.

쉐도우마스크의 열변형 해석 -온도분포 (Thermal Deformation Analysis of Shadow Mask : Temperature Distribution)

  • A Shadow mask in C. R. T. (Cathod Ray Tube) undergoes a temperature increase due to impinging electron beams emitted from guns, and thermal deformation from such temperature rise may cause the electron beams to island on the panel, and thus give rise to depolarization. Hence the analysis of temperature distribution for a shadow mask is an important procedure for designing the shadow mask. In this paper, we are concerned with nonlinear finite element analysis of the temperature distribution on a shadow mask. First of all, we replace shadow mask, containing numerous apertures of a slit type, by an orthotropic shell without apertures, and calculate the apparent thermal conductivities. Because of thermal radiation, which is one of the major heat transfer mechanism for shadow masks, the resulting finite element equation is nonlinear and solved by the Newton method. Finally numerical examples are illustrated for a 21" FST(Full Square Tube) shadow mask, and followed by discussion.sion.

솔레노이드 밸브를 이용한 카복시 건의 주입량 제어 (Injection volume control of carboxy-gun using a solenoid valve)

  • Carboxy-guns are used for rapid and precise injection of $CO_2$ gas to the target skin area using external power source. In the design of carboxy-gun, the most important thing is how to precisely control injection volume of $CO_2$ gas. This paper deals with the control scheme of injection volume of carboxy-gun using solenoid valve. First the amount of volume that passes through the solenoid valve under on-off time ratio control is estimated based on the assumption of compressible gas flow. The flow rate of gas is experimentally measured under the varying pressure of the gas reservoir. Two results showed good correlation to each other, thus demonstrating the validity of the volume control strategy.

  • During the last three decades power electronics has gone through energetic technical evolution. The technical needs from wide area such as in industrial, commercial, consumer, aerospace and environmental applications have driven the environment favorably for the power electronics. In the future, two extreme technology-expansion trends are expected: one into low power, and the other into very high power. The former is based on the high frequency and the circuit miniature using VLSI circuit and surface mounting aiming for the system-on-chip (SOC) technology. The latter includes the application areas of power utility such as HVDC, FACTS and SVC and large science area of electrophsycal apparatus such as thermonuclear fusion, acclerators, and electric guns. This paper describes the technology status of some major elements which are available today and the key roles of the power electronics from view points of applications. The author would like to take this opportunity to raise discussions about the future technology development trend of power electronics in our country with the fellow power electronics engineers.

우리 나라 놀이감의 실태 및 어린이와 어머니의 인식 조사 (A Study on Toys and Children's and Mothers' Perception of Toys)

  • The purposes of this study were to investigate the quality of toys, to explore children's and mothers' perception of toys, and to present future directions for toy manufacturers, children and mothers. The subjects were 127 6-year-old, 143 8-year-old, 151 10-year-old children and 383 mothers. In addition, 113 toys were selected for analysis. Data were gathered through both observations and questionnaires. The results showed that most toys were appropriate to stimulate cognitive development. However, for dolls, 90% of them were in the shape of Caucasions. Children who were accustomed to such dolls may develop the tendency to favor a Western aesthetic standard. War toys, such as guns and robots may provoke aggression and violence. Mothers believed that toys should be helpful for the intellectual, social and physical development of children. While mothers were not satisfied with the quality of domestically produced toys, children generally liked them.

정수계획법을 이용한 최적 감시장비 배치모형에 관한 연구 (An Optimal Surveillance Units Assignment Model Using Integer Programming)

  • This study is to develop an optimal surveillance units assignment model in order to obtain the maximized surveillance efficiency with the limited surveillance units. There are many mathematical models which deal with problems to assign weapons such as aircrafts, missiles and guns to targets. These models minimize the lost required to attack, the threat forecast from the enemy, or both of them. However, a problem of the efficient assignment of surveillance units is not studied yet, nevertbless it is important in the battlefield surveillance system. This paper is concerned with the development of the optimal surveillance units assignment model using integer programming. An optimal integer solution of the model can be obtained by using linear programming and branch and bound method.
