  • This paper has achieved that an optimal design and experiments of heater and cathode of electron gun that serve to embody high current density in CRT display. For the high brightness, high resolution and larger size in CRT display, high current density of electron gun is indispensible. An Impregnation style cathode is used, and must heighten operating temperature of heater to get high current density for this, it is proportional hereupon and power dissipation increases. In this paper, to get low power cathode with high current density, There are produced and tested sample that differ lead type of heater, coating method, the pitch and number of winding of the first and second coiling in the heat emission area for the low power design of high current density cathode heater in this paper.

  • The dosimetric characteristics were experimentally evaluated for electron beams from the prototype linac developed for radiotherapy units. This paper focuses on the electron beam output and energy variations as a function of electron gun heater current. The electron energy was derived from its mean and most probable energies measured by film dosimetry. The electron beam output at the maximum electron energy was measured with the plane parallel ionization chamber in water using TRS-398 dosimetry protocol. The mean energy and the most probable energy of the electron beam were 6.54~3.31 MeV and 5.94~2.80 MeV at electron gun current of 2.02~2.50 A respectively. The output dose rate for an electron beam of mean energy 6.54 MeV was 5.41 Gy/min ${\pm}1.5%$ at the reference depth in water.

  • In this study, fuel qualities including kinematic viscosity and pour point in the various temperature, calorific value and combustion characteristics of two biodiesels based on the soybean and waste oil blended with light oil were investigated and discussed in order to figure out to confirm fuel compatibility taking the place of light oil in the hot air heater or boiler. As biodiesel content ratio increased calorific value of biodiesel decreased, and the difference was 13% between 100%-biodiesel and light oil. In general, pour points of the biodiesels were higher than light oil, and as biodiesel content ratio increased pour point increased. About 15 cSt was the pour point of biodiesels and light oil, which occurred at 3 to $4^{\circ}C$ in the biodiesels and $-25^{\circ}C$ in the light oil. Flame dimensions of biodiesels and light oil were almost same at the same combustion condition in the burner of the hot air heater. CO concentrations in the exhaustion gas were far lower than those of the light oil. Though pour point of biodiesel is a little inferior to light oil, still biodiesel can be an alternative fuel substituting for light oil in combustion system without much modifying the current oil combustion mechanism.

  • This paper deals with high-Tc superconducting (HTS) power charging system with GdBCO magnet, photo-voltaic (PV) controller, and solar panels to charge solar energy. When combining the HTS magnet and the solar energy charging system, additional power source is not required therefore it is possible to obtain high power efficiency. Since there is no resistance in superconducting magnet carrying DC transport current the energy losses caused by joule heating can be reduced. In this paper, the charging characteristics of HTS power charging system was simulated by using PSIM. The charging current of HTS superconducting power charging system is measured and compared with the simulation results. Using the simulation of HTS power charging system, it can be applied to the solar energy applications.
