  • Maintenance equipments, tools, manuals and documents are needed to maintain weapon systems. At the time, a lot of technical materials are maintained and used individually at various places and organizations. Thus, maintenance engineers can rot get the necessary informations quickly and the efficiency of maintenance is low. In this paper, first we analyze maintenance processes in weapon systems and define the total measure to evaluate the maintenance efficiency of weapon systems. Second, we propose an implementation procedure to integrated maintenance system.

  • To obtain the requirements of capability and analyze mission loads for weapon systems which are in process of development, Operational Mode Summary/Mission Profile(OMS/MP) should be documented in advance. In this paper, we have proposed a systematic and practical OMS/MP model processes of a weapon mounted combat vehicle for analyzing power and energy strategy. The wartime and peacetime OMS/MP of a hybrid wheeled combat vehicle which is mounted with an anti-tank guided weapon(ATGW) is also presented as its application.

  • 걸프전 이후 항공력은 전쟁 승리의 핵심 역할을 수행하였다. 하지만 레이저 유도폭탄, 전자광학 장비 같은 첨단무기들은 기상 조건이 맞지 않으면 그 효과가 크게 떨어진다. 따라서 레이저 유도폭탄이 할당된 항공기는 기상 악화 시 무장교체가 이루어져야 한다. 하지만 현재까지 무장교체 시기에 대한 객관적인 기준은 없다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 구름 영상을 처리하여 레이저 유도폭탄의 명중률을 예측하는 알고리즘을 제안한다. 알고리즘의 정확도를 검증하기 위해 레이저 유도폭탄에 영향을 미칠 수 있는 기상 상황을 모의 비행장비에 적용하고 모의 무장투하를 실시하여 데이터를 수집 및 분석하였다. 모의 비행장비에 적용한 기상 조건과 유사한 구름 영상을 제작하여 알고리즘에 적용한 결과 대부분의 기상 조건에서 레이저 유도폭탄의 명중률을 정확하게 예측할 수 있음을 확인하였다.

  • The private sector is currently reviewing the feasibility of the project or deciding economic policies by analyzing the economic ripple effects. However, the arms acquisition project focuses on the need for the national defense weapons system by analyzing the costs and the effectiveness of the analysis and reviewing the necessity and feasibility of the project. In order to analyze the economic ripple effects, KB (the Bank of Korea) prepares and publishes an analysis table of industrial associations in a given unit. IAAR (the industrial association analysis report) is difficult to apply directly to the defense weapons system. Therefore, research on the economic ripple effects applicable to the defense arms procurement project was needed. In this study, we propose the generic methodology for estimating economical and technical ripple effects resulted in acquiring new weapon systems. Based on the analysis of inter-industrial relations, economical ripple effects are estimated with production inducing effects, value-induced effects, employment-induced effects and export-induced effects. Also, the technological ripple effects are estimated with technological intensity represented by investment cost in research and development. To show the validity of proposed methodology, a case study of acquiring new weapon systems such as GR (guided rocket), destroyer, and helicopter is accomplished. From the case study, it is concluded that these economical & technological ripple effects can be used as a reference to decision making in the course of acquiring major future defense weapons systems.

  • 스마트무장은 종말 유도조종을 통해 정밀타격 임무를 수행하는 초소형 유도무기로 미래 전장환경의 신무기체계이다. 하지만 크기로 인한 구조적 제한으로 인해 압전구동 방식의 조종날개를 이용해 제어를 수행하기 때문에 기동력이 작아 유도범위가 제한적이다. 본 논문에서는 스마트무장의 효과도를 높이기 위한 비 표준조건 사격제원 산출 알고리즘을 제안한다. 제안된 알고리즘은 획득한 전장환경 정보를 이용해 표준조건에서의 사격제원을 보정해 비 표준조건의 사격제원을 산출한다. 다양한 조건에서의 수치 시뮬레이션을 통해 제안된 알고리즘의 성능을 검증하였다.

  • An integrated guidance scheme for guided weapon system is described in this paper. Against conventional guidance methods, this method combines an autopilot and a guidance law. The controller is designed using LQ regulator whose performance index is different from other optimal guidance laws. Since dynamics of the system is considered in the derivation, the controller performance is improved. By simulation, the suggested method shows better performance in minimum distance sense than conventional guidance schemes such as Bang Bang guidance or Pursuit Guidance. Since the suggested method provides smooth rudder deflection in contrast to the conventional method, the load on a energy source of the system can be greatly lessened.

  • The rapid tactical operation and mobility are getting important to recently developed the guided weapon systems. And military wants multi-purposes equipment to carry the war more easily. So military wants to have the equipment that can apply without any distinction about environment. For this reason, the robust design is getting more important now to guarantee survivability of equipment. In this paper, we try to check about structural integrity of Fire Control Unit(FCU) which is one of the guided weapon system using dynamic FEM analysis.

  • Guided weapon is very excellent strategy system than conventional weapons. Recently, several devices and a technology developed much developing more, inertia measuring device is one example. Inertia measuring device is device that is used to improe more accuracy of guided weapon, this device is operated by sensors of inside. Sensors of inside are parts that is very sensitive about impact or shock, heat that interact when shoot, it is main purpose that verify durability of sensor by heat delivered from outside in this study.

The Design of Integrated Flying Vehicle Model for Engagement Analyses of Missiles

  • High-Level Architecture(HLA)/Run-Time Infrastructure(RTI) are standards for distributed simulation systems and offer a technology to interconnect them and form one single simulation system. In defense domain, M&S is the only way to prove effectiveness of weapon systems except for Live Fire Testing (LFT). This paper focuses on guided missile simulations in weapon systems for engagement analyses and proposes the integrated flying vehicle model that is based on HLA/RTI. There are a lot of missiles in real world; therefore, we should develop each missile models in M&S in order to apply battlefield scenarios. To deal with the difficulties, in this paper, firstly, I classify these missiles into three models: ballastic, cruise, and surface-to-air missile models, and then I design each missile model and integrates them into a single model. This paper also offers a case study with my integrated flying vehicle model. At the conclusion, this paper presents contributions of this paper.

수중유도무기의 정비성 향상을 위한 전자식 기술교범 개발에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Development of Interactive Electronic Technical Manual to Improve the Maintainability for Underwater Guided Weapon)

  • Delayed repair to the failure of weapon system can cause enormous damages to military operation. Various materials like diagnostic equipment, general and special tools, technical manuals(maintenance manual and illustrated parts breakdown) and drawing documents are required for maintenance. For existing weapon systems the distributed environment of these various materials reduces the maintenance effectiveness of maintenance crew. In this paper, to provide the information of maintenance procedures and supply to the maintenance crew we develope a digital interactive electronic technical manual of the technical documents which can be used easily in computer through question and answer method and improve maintenance effectiveness and minimized repairing time.
