KEPRI (Korea Electric Power Research Institute) has studied planar type solid oxide fuel cell (SOFC) stacks using anode-supported cells and kW class co-generation systems for residential power generation. In this work, a 1 kW SOFC system consisted of a hot box part, a cold BOP (balance of plant) part, and a hot water reservoir. The hot box part contained a SOFC stack made up of 48 cells, a fuel reformer, a catalytic combustor, and heat exchangers. Thermal management and insulation system were especially designed for self-sustainable operation in that system. A cold BOP part was composed of blowers, pumps, a water trap, and system control units. When the 1 kW SOFC stack was tested using hydrogen at $750^{\circ}C$, the stack power was about $1.2\;kW_e$ at 30 A and $1.6\;kW_e$ at 50 A. Turning off an electric furnace, the SOFC system was operated using hydrogen and city gas without any external heat source. Under self-sustainable operation conditions, the stack power was about $1.3\;kW_e$ with hydrogen and $1.2\;kW_e$ with city gas respectively. The system also recuperated heat of about $1.1\;kW_{th}$ by making hot water.
Results on growth and fruit elongation and quality by rootstock sort of oriental melon were followed; Growth of upper part of oriental melon was faster grafted seedlings than self-root seedlings and among grafted seedlings, Elite and Shintozoa rootstocks were better than Hongtozoa. Growth of Elite and Shintozoa rootstocks, stem length and leaf number, were laster after 30 days of seedling transplant. Fruit elongation had no difference in rootstocks sort. Fruit weight was higher Elite and Shintozoa grafted seedlings than self-root seedlings but soluble solid contents of fruit was higher self root seedlings, $13.9^{\circ}Brix$, than Elite grafted seedlings, $12.5^{\circ}Brix$.
Recently, all-solid-state batteries have attracted much attention to improve safety of rechargeable lithium batteries, but the solid-state batteries of conductive ceramics or solid polymer electrolytes show poor electrochemical properties because of several problems such as high interfacial resistance and undesired reactions. To solve the problems of the reported all-solid-state batteries, a hybrid solid electrolyte is suggested, in this study, NASICON-type nanoparticle Li1.5Al0.5Ti1.5P3O12 (LATP) conductive ceramic, PVdF-HFP, and a carbonate-based liquid electrolyte were composited to prepare a quasi-solid electrolyte. The hybrid solid electrolyte has a high voltage stability of 5.6 V and shows an suppress effect of lithium dendrite growth in the stripping-plating test. The LiNi0.83Co0.11Mn0.06O2 (NCM811)-based battery with the hybrid solid electrolyte exhibits a high discharge capacity of 241.5 mAh/g at a high charge-cut-off voltage of 4.8V and stable electrochemical reaction. The NCM811-based battery also shows 139.4 mAh/g discharge capacity without short circuit or explosion at 90℃. Therefore, the LATP-based hybrid solid electrolyte can be an effective solution to improve the safety and electrochemical properties of rechargeable lithium batteries.

Emerald (3BeO.Al2O3.6SiO2 : Cr3+) single crystals were crystals were grown by reflux method of temperature gradient in the flux solution of Li2O-MoO3-V2O5 system. The composition of flux materials were 3 mole ratio of MoO3-V2O5/Li2O, subtituted 0.2 mole% of K2O, Na2O, Nb2O5 etc to Li2O content, solved 10-15% of beryl to flux quantity and doped 1% of Cr2O3 to emerald amount. Those of mixing were melted at 110$0^{\circ}C$ in Pt containers of the 3 zone furnace of melt-growth-return to circulate continniously, specially it has been grown large emerald single crystal when thermal fluctuation was treated for 2hrs of once time a day at 1050-95$0^{\circ}C$ in growth zone, substitutional solid solution effect of Cr+3 ion for Al+3 to the growth of emerald single crystal was good. Emerald single crystals were c(0001) hexagonal crystal face of preferencial growth direction and m(1010) post side. When it had been durated for 5 months emerald single crystals of the firet size of 0.6mm thickness of seed crystal were grown 32$\times$65mm(c x m) of maximum size and 6.2mm thickness.
The influence of growth regulators (NAA and BA) and sucrose concentrations (0, 3, 5, 7, 9%) on in vitro rapid-propagation of virus-free sweet potato [Ipomoea batatas (L.) Lam.] was investigated with single-node or shoot-tip culture of two cultivars ('Matnami' and 'Shinhwangmi'). The survival rate and growth of shoot-tip explant was also investigated under the presence or absence of light (blue and red LED = 7:3, 150±5 μmol·m-2·s-1 PPFD) during minimal-growth in vitro conservation at 15℃. Vine length, vine diameter, fresh weight and dry weight were enhanced without callusing of explant in the MS medium supplemented with 0.2-0.5 mg·L-1 BA. The growth of single-node and shoot-tip explants were significantly enhanced with the increase of vine length, number of leaf, number of root, fresh weight, and dry weight in the solid medium containing 5% sucrose and 0.2 mg·L-1 BA. Vine elongation of shoot-tip explants were highest in the liquid medium containing 3% sucrose than the solid medium. The survival rate of minimal-growth in vitro conservation was 100% in 5 months under the presence of light (LED, 150±5 μmol·m-2·s-1 PPFD) at 15℃, but the explants in dark condition died in 3 months. The light was absolutely necessary for the in vitro conservation under minimal-growth conditions of virus-free sweet potato plantlets at 15℃, and the high density of explants (10 plantlets per Petri Dish) was increased the efficiency of mass conservation.
A study was made to clarify the topographical. and Physical characteristics of ginseng field in terms of soil science and to find the relationship between soil characteristics and ginseng growth, as well as yield of ginseng roots Forty nine farmer's red ginseng field of ginseng growing area were chosen for this study and investigated for two years. The results obtained were as follow. 1. Ginseng fie1ds with high yield which represent the more than 1.8kg of ginseng root per 3.2m2 were found in soil series of Bancheon, Yeongog, Weongog, etc. whose texture were the clay loam to clay soil. On the other hand, ginseng field with low yield were observed in soil series of seogto whose texture was loamy soil with high content of gravels. 2 Soil of ginseng field with high yield had higher content of clay. silt soil moisture and soil pore as compared with soils of low yields. These soil characteristics were positively correlated with stem length stem diameter and root weight of ginseng plsnt and negatively correlated with rate of missing plant 3. The adequate ranges of soil 3 phase from high yield ginseng field were 40 to 50% of solid Phase, 22 to 35% of liquid phase, 25 to 35% of gaseous phase in top soil and 45 to 55% of solid phase. 28 to 30% of liquid phase. 15 to 20% of gaseous phase in subsoil respectively.

Epithelial-myoepithelial carcinoma (EMC) of lung is a minor subset of salivary type carcinoma of lung of known low grade malignancy. Histologically, two-cell components forming duct-like structure with inner epithelial cell layer and outer myoepithelial cell layer are characteristics of EMC. In salivary gland, dedifferentiation of conventional low grade malignancy has been reported and is thought to be related with poor prognosis. However, precise histomorphology and prognostic factors of pulmonary EMC have not been clarified due to its rarity. Herein, we reported a rare case of EMC presented as endobronchial mass in a 53-year old woman, which showed predominant solid lobular growth pattern and lymph node metastases.
Angiogenesis in tumors is driven by multiple growth factors that activate receptor tyrosine kinases. An important driving force of angiogenesis in solid tumors is signaling through vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) and its receptors (VEGFRs). Angiogenesis inhibitors that target this signaling pathway are now in widespread use for the treatment of cancer. However, when used alone, inhibitors of VEGF/VEGFR signaling do not destroy all blood vessels in tumors and do not slow the growth of most human cancers. VEGF/VEGFR signaling inhibitors are, therefore, used in combination with chemotherapeutic agents or radiation therapy. Additional targets for inhibiting angiogenesis would be useful for more efficacious treatment of cancer. One promising target is the signaling pathway of hepatocyte growth factor (HGF) and its receptor (HGFR, also known as c-Met), which plays important roles in angiogenesis and tumor growth. Inhibitors of this signaling pathway have been shown to inhibit angiogenesis in multiple in vitro and in vivo models. The HGF/c-Met signaling pathway is now recognized as a promising target in cancer by inhibiting angiogenesis, tumor growth, invasion, and metastasis.

Graphene, a two dimensional plane structure of $sp^2$ bonding, has been promised for a new material in many scientific fields such as physics, chemistry, and so on due to the unique properties. Chemical vapor deposition (CVD) method using transitional metals as a catalyst can synthesize large scale graphene with high quality and transfer on other substrates. However, it is difficult to control the number of graphene layers. Therefore, it is important to manipulate the number of graphene layers. In this work, homogeneous solid solution of Cu and Ni was used to control the number of graphene layers. Each films with different thickness ratio of Cu and Ni were deposited on $SiO_2/Si$ substrate. After annealing, it was confirmed that the thickness ratio accords with the composition ratio by X-ray diffraction (XRD). The synthesized graphene from CVD was analyzed via raman spectroscopy, UV-vis spectroscopy, and 4-point probe to evaluate the properties. Therefore, the number of graphene layers at the same growth condition was controlled, and the correlation between mole fraction of Ni and the number of graphene layers was investigated.
