방진구조물에 의한 표면파 산란해석 (A Study on Screening of Surface Waves by Wave Barriers)

  • In this paper numerical and experimental studies are conducted to examine the wave screening effectiveness of wave barriers. The numerical study is based on a finite element model of a 'sandbox' with Lysmer-Kuhlemeyer-type absorbing boundaries. Using the model, the screening effectiveness of wave barriers is studied for different barrier dimensions and distances between the source/receiver and the wave barrier. The results of the numerical modeling are compared with those of the ultrasonic experiment which is performed on an acrylic block with a drilled rectangular cut. Finally, the problem of ground transmitting vibration from a traveling train is numerically treated as a real-world application and the results are discussed in some detail.

A Review on the Effects of Earthborne Vibrations and the Mitigation Measures

  • Earthborne vibrations are induced by construction operation such as pile driving, roadbed compaction, and blasting and also by transit activities such as truck and trains. The earthborne vibration creates the stress waves traveling outward from the source and can structurally damage nearby buildings and structures in the forms of direct damage to structure and damage due to dynamic settlement. The wave propagation characteristics depends on impact or vibration energy, distance from the source, and soil characteristics. The aim of this paper is to provide a comprehensive review on the mechanistic of earthborne vibration and the current practice of vibration control and mitigation measures. The paper describes the state of knowledge in the areas of: (1) mechanics of earthborne vibration, (2) damage mechanism by earthborne vibration, (3) calculation, prediction of ground vibration, (4) the criteria of vibration limits, (5) vibration mitigation measures and their performance, and (6) the current practice of vibration control and mitigation measures.

  • To compare blasting vibration at blasting construction field in urban area, the vibration level (dB(V)) and vibration velocity (cm/sec) on the ground and the structure of buildings due to the differences of the measuring sites from the blasting source is investigated and the difference between the measured vertical vibration level and the calculated vibration level by using vibration velocity PVS and the correlation between vibration velocity and vibration level and is studied in the thesis.

  • 사면 절취 및 도심지 터파기 등 인공적으로 사면을 형성하는 경우 경제적이고 효율적인 공법으로 화약을 이용한 발파공법이 많이 사용되고 있다. 절취면 보호를 위해 대상 암반에 손상을 주지 않고 암반이 가지고 있는 자연적인 강도를 그대로 유지할 수 있도록 발파하는 것이 중요하며 사회적으로 문제 시 되는 발파공해를 고려하여 발파진동을 저감할 수 있는 공법이 필요하다. 본 연구에서는 평활한 절취면 형성을 위하여 도폭선에 폭약을 등간격으로 배치하고 장약의 방법과 전색의 방법을 달리하여 발파를 진행하였다. 4가지 패턴을 사용하여 총 60공에서 20회 발파를 실시하였으며 발파원으로부터 15~120m 거리에서 발파진동소음측정기를 사용하여 진동속도를 측정하여 310개의 데이터를 획득하였다. 측정된 진동속도 데이터를 분석하여 발파진동을 저감하고 효율적이고 경제적으로 절취면을 보호할 수 있는 방법을 연구해 보았다.

  • 일반적으로 환경 지반진동은 가진원과 지반내 전달, 수신부라는 전파경로를 통해 목적지에 전달된다. 그중에서도 지반내 파동의 전달은 전파의 방식이 각 지반의 특성에 따라 의존하고 있기 때문에 매우 복잡하다. 또한 이러한 전파를 효율적으로 차단하기 위해 최근 현장에서 가장 많이 적용하고 있는 공법은 방진벽이다. 그러나 이러한 방진벽 공법은 다양한 변수와 연관되어 방진효과에 영향을 미치지만 그중에서도 방진벽 재료의 선택이 가장 중요하다. 따라서 본 연구는 지표면에 충격하중이 가해졌을 경우 지반내 전달되는 전파경로를 효율적으로 차단할 수 있는 방진벽 재료인 EPS차단벽 재료에 대하여 원심모형실험을 통해 연구하였다. 이를 위하여 차단벽의 형상은 원통형과 직사각형 타입을 적용하였고 원통형 타입은 차단벽재의 타설심도를, 직사각형타입은 차단벽의 길이를 변화시키는 실험을 실시하여 이들의 차이가 방진효과에 미치는 영향에 대하여 연구하였다.

  • For computer aided design and construction of low noisy power plants, indoor and outdoor noise prediction program has been developed. The program utilizes the predefined data of noise sources and building materials and has the faculty to estimate the source level using the empirical formula in case of the measured data not being available. In the noise prediction, the mutual noise propagation between indoor and outdoor sites are considered. The outdoor noise source in the calculation of geometric divergence effects is modelled as the omni-directional finite line or planar source according to the source geometry and the receiving points. Outdoor noise prediction is carried out to consider the diffraction effect due to plant structures as well as the attenuation effect due to atmospheric absorption and soft ground. The results of indoor and outdoor noise prediction for a recently constructed diesel engine power plant show good agreement with the measured.

지면반사효과를 이용한 폭발 소음원의 위치 추정 정밀도 향상법 (An Accuracy Improvement Method on Acoustic Source Localization Using Ground Reflection Effect)

  • A technique for improving estimation accuracy is introduced in order to locate the impact position of artillery shell during the weapon scoring test. Study on localization of impacts using acoustic measurement has been conducted and the usability of sensor array is verified with experiments. When the blast occurs above the ground in the firing range, the acoustic sensor above the ground can measure the directly propagated sound with the ground-reflected one. In this study, a method for reducing estimation error by using the reflection signal measurements based on the time difference of arrival method. Considering the reflection sound works as same as placing a virtual sensor symmetrically through the ground. This idea enables a virtual three-dimensional array configuration with a two-dimensional plane array above the ground as such. The time difference between the direct and the reflected propagations can be estimated using cepstrum analysis. Performance test has been made in the simulation experiment in the football size area.

  • The major noise source for the conventional train is the rolling noise caused by the interaction of the wheels and rails during the train passage on the tangent track. In order to control the rolling noise, the noise radiated from wheels, rails and sleepers should be analyzed and predicted. In this paper, a prediction method of wheel/rail rolling noise generated by the roughness of the wheel/rail surface is described, where the method is considering the effect of noise radiated by sleepers and the effect of ground. The method is applied to the Korean railway system, and the sound pressure level (SPL) predicted by the proposed method is compared with the measured SPL. Overall. the result shows good agreement between the predicted and measured values.

장대레일의 진동저감효과에 관한 연구 (Vibration Reduction Effect of the Continuously Welded Rail)

  • In this study, field measurements and analysis of vibration before and after the installation of continuously welded rail were performed. The vibration data obtained at the same locations before and after were analyzed to find out the characteristics of vibration level. The component of train-induced impulsive vibration at the rail joints varies depending upon the distance from the source, however mostly low frequency vibration which propagates long distance causes the problems of vibration. Even though it is expected that there may be certain degree of discrepancy in the amount of reduction in vibration depending upon site ground conditions, it was found that installation of continuously welded rail shows reduction in train-induced vibration.

  • Nowadays, the environmental vibration criteria has been severely restricted from the viewpoint of recipient. The vibration created by urban transit systems can be an important source of community discontent, and can have influence on high technology equipments. This has led to a desire of transit system operators to reduce vibration and to minimize community exposure to vibration. Recent research in this area has significantly increased for transit system engineers to reduce vibration. Unlike other material, soil has a complicated characteristic and it is very difficult to prevent vibration from transmitting. Generally, the trench can use to breaking propagation of vibration on passing way but needs much too maintenance. Therefore, the filled materials for trench had successfully developed and the characteristic test for the filled material had conducted during this term. Finally, we had executed analyses of real characteristic through the propagation test of ground vibration.
