수도작 포장의 고저차 분석 (Variation Analysis of Elevation within a Rice Paddy Field)

  • Elevation differences within a paddy field relate strongly to plant health, crop homogeneity, and pest control. For precision agriculture (PA), the elevation within a field should be precisely controlled. We analyzed variation in elevation within a rice paddy field over one crop cycle. The study took place in a rectangular plot (100 m x 30 m). Elevations within the a plots was measured by a laser-equipped surveying instrument, that could determine elevations to precisions of I mm. The test field was divided into grids with 30 squares; elevation was measured at the center of each 5 x 10-m grid square. This study measured elevation during nine observation periods from pre-plowing to post-harvest. Descriptive statistics showed the highest elevations after plowing due to soil disturbance. One-way analysis of variance (ANOVA) revealed significant elevation differences before and after plowing and transplanting, although elevations were similar over the period of crop growth. Comparison of pre-plowing and post-harvest data showed differences in elevations, indicating that elevation changes occurred during plowing, rice transplanting, plant growth, and harvesting. In summary, the above statistical analysis indicated that elevation changes occurred due to plowing but not during the plant growth season or due to harvesting.

수정된 밀도함수법을 이용한 고정된 반잠수식 해양구조물 주위 유동의 수치시뮬레이션 (Numerical Simulation of Flow around a Fixed Semi-submersible Offshore Structure Using the Modified Marker-density Method)

  • It is important to research and understand the physical phenomenon around a semi-submersible offshore structure on waves and currents because the wave run-up and load occurs owing to the waves and currents. In this study, the numerical simulations are performed about flow around a fixed semi-submersible offshore structure. The Modified Marker-density method is adopted in the present computation procedure, this method is one of the various methods to define the free-surface. The present computation results are compared with existing experimental and numerical simulation(VOF method) results. And, the computation results are relatively coincident with the existing results of model test and numerical simulation by VOF method.

Determination of the Neutron Effective Multiplication Factor for a PWR Spent Fuel Assembly

  • An Exponential experiment system which is composed of a neutron detector, a signal analysis system and a neutron source, Cf-252 has been installed in order to experimentally determine the neutron effective multiplication factor for a PWR spent fuel assembly. The axial background neutron flux is measured in a preliminary performance test. From the results, the spacer grid position is determined to be consistent with the design specifications within a 2.3% relative error. The induced fission neutron for four of the assemblies is also measured by scanning the neutron source, Cf-252 or the neutron detector. The exponential decay constants have been evaluated by the application of the Poisson regression to the net induced fission neutron counts. The measured keffs determined on the basis of the exponential decay constants of Cl5 appeared to be 0.541, 0.540, 0.597 and 0.556, respectively, which are comparable with 0.55195$\pm$0.00232 of the MCNP calculation.

연속섬유보강토공법의 하천구역 적용사례에 관한 연구 (Application of Continuous Fiber Soil Reinforcement System in Riparian Slopes)

  • The purpose of this study is to examine the ecologically suitable restoration characteristics in riparian slopes constructed by continuous fiber soil reinforced system (Geofiber system) which does not contain the concrete materials. The findings are as follows : (1) as the tested soil was not washed away by rainfalls and floods, Geofiber could replace the concrete wall and gravity stone net bag technique from the civil engineering structural point of view; (2) after one year of the construction, it was monitored that land cover ratio was 80-90%, which indirectly shows that vegetation is safely maintained; and (3) at the same time, 5-8 flora species were found in each test grid and more importantly dominant species have been moved from alien species to native herbaceous plants. From the above findings, Geofiber system is recommendable to restore the riparian slopes in terms of stability and natural landscape points. However, a long term monitering is needed considering flora succession process in a given environment as well as suitability tests should be carried out through the comparative investigations in other environments.

  • 동다짐공법은 느슨한 지반의 개량에 주로 사용되는 공법으로 점착성 토사나 폐기물과 성토지반에도 성공적으로 적용되고 있다. 동다짐공법의 설계에 있어 지반개량심도의 결정은 중요한 요소이다. 그러나 개량심도는 다짐에너지 뿐만 아니라 다짐간격, 대상토질 특성, 포화정도 및 현장여건 등에 영향을 받고 있다. 본 연구에서는 개량심도 예측을 위하여 현장실험결과를 이용하였으며 다짐에너지, 토질특성 및 포화정도에 따른 개량심도를 평가하였다.

  • Source parameters of the December 13, 1996 Yeongweol earthquake are estimated using the grid test technique. Thirty polarities of P waves recorded at KMA, KIGAM, KSRS and JAPAN stations are used for the event. The obtained fault plane solution shows predominantly strike-slip motion with small amount of thrust component. The orientation of the fault is 180$\pm$10$^{\circ}$in strike, 50$\pm$5$^{\circ}$in dip and 150$\pm$5$^{\circ}$in rake, or 292$\pm$3$^{\circ}$in strike, 65$\pm$5$^{\circ}$in dip and 30$\pm$10$^{\circ}$ in rake. These solutions are very similar to those of earthquakes occurred at Sagju, Pohang and offshore Gunsan. The compressional axis of stress field is trending from ENE to WSW, which is consistent with the previously defined typical regional tectonic stress orientation in and around Korean Peninsula.. From the result of this study and other source mechanisms around the Korean Peninsula, we are of opinion that tectonic stress around the Korean Peninsula may be more attributed to the collision of Indian plate with the Eurasian plate than subduction of Pacific and Philippine plates.

  • A multi-dimensional component for the thermal-hydraulic system analysis code, MARS, was developed for a more realistic three-dimensional analysis of nuclear systems. A three-dimensional and two-fluid model for a two-phase flow in Cartesian and cylindrical coordinates was employed. The governing equations and physical constitutive relationships were extended from those of a one-dimensional version. The numerical solution method adopted a semi-implicit and finite-difference method based on a staggered-grid mesh and a donor-cell scheme. The relevant length scale was very coarse compared to commercial computational fluid dynamics tools. Thus a simple Prandtl's mixing length turbulence model was applied to interpret the turbulent induced momentum and energy diffusivity. Non drag interfacial forces were not considered as in the general nuclear system codes. Several conceptual cases with analytic solutions were chosen and analyzed to assess the fundamental terms. RPI air-water and UPTF 7 tests were simulated and compared to the experimental data. The simulation results for the RPI air-water two-phase flow experiment showed good agreement with the measured void fraction. The simulation results for the UPTF downcomer test 7 were compared to the experiment data and the results from other multi-dimensional system codes for the ECC delivery flow.

다이나믹 MPPT를 적용한 최대전력지점추종 알고리즘 (The New MPPT Algorithm for the Dynamic MPPT Efficiency)

  • The efficiency of the maximum power point tracking(MPPT) of inverter which is used in grid-connected photovoltaic systems is changed according to dynamic environment conditions. Hence, this paper evaluates the performance of the proposed method and other MPPT algorithm on the basis of European Efficiency Test(EN50530). The modeling of MPPT algorithm is made by the Matlab & Simulink. In the result of simulation, the more control period is shorter, the more MPPT efficiency is higher. Also, the Proposed MPPT algorithm has higher performance than other MPPT algorithm with no regard to control period.

고속 도함수 근사화에 의해 개선된 무요소법을 이용한 선형탄성 고체문제의 응력해석 (Stress Analysis of Linear Elastic Solid Problems by using Enhanced Meshfree Method based on Fast Derivatives Approximation)

  • Point collocation method based on the fast derivatives approximation of meshfree shape function is applied to solid mechanics in this study. Enhanced meshfree approximation with approximated derivative of shape function is reviewed, and formulation of linear elastic solid mechanics by point collocation method is presented. It implies that governing equation of solid mechanics with strong form is directly formulated without no numerical integration cells or grid. The regularity of weight function is not required due to a use of approximated derivative, so we propose the exponential type weight function that is discontinuous in first derivative. The convergence and stability of the proposed method is verified by passing the generalized patch test. Also, the efficiency and applicability of the proposed method in solid mechanics is verified by solving types of solid problems. Numerical results show that not only a use of proposed weight function leads lower error and higher convergence rate than that of the conventional weight functions, but also the improved collocation method with derivative approximation enables to compute the derivatives of shape function very fast and accurately enough to replace the classical direct derivative calculation.

플라스틱 BGA 솔더접합부의 고신뢰성에 관한 연구 (A Study of the High Reliability in Plastic BGA Solder Joints)

  • The increase in high speed, multi-function and high I/O pin semiconductor devices highly demands high pin count, very thin, and high density packages. BGA is one of the solutions, but the package has demerits in package reliability, surface mounting problems due to the PCB warpage and solder joint crack related with TCE mismatch between the materials. On this study to verify the thermal fatigue lifetime of the solder joint FEM and experiments were performed after surface mounting BGA with different solder composition and reliability conditions. FEM showed optimum composition of Ag3.2-Sn96.5 and under the composition minimum creep deformation of the solder joint was calculated, and the thermal fatigue lifetime was improved. In view of temperature cycle condition, the conditions of $-65^{\circ}C$to $150^{\circ}C$ showed minimum lifetime and t was 1/3 of $0^{\circ}C$ to $125^{\circ}C$ condition. Test board was prepared and solder joint crack was verified. Until 1000cycle on soder joint crack was observed.
