  • This study analyzed the effect of Greenhouse of wood pellet fuel conversing from Diesel. Analyzed through a life cycle assessment of greenhouse gas emissions of carbon dioxide for the environmental assessment, In evaluation of the Ministry of the Environment, analyzed through the life cycle assessment of carbon dioxide emissions of the greenhouse gas and, In the case of economic evaluation, we analyzed the investment payback period to the total revenue generated by each of the calculated incentive based on the RHI and institutions reduction projects a reduction of costs associated with the reduction of fuel costs.

전과정 분석을 통한 자동차엔진 재제조시 온실가스 저감효과 분석 (An Analysis of Greenhouse Gas Reduction effect of Automotive Engine Re-manufacturing throug Whole Process Analysis)

  • 본 연구에서는 자동차엔진의 신품제조시와 재제조시 발생하는 환경영향을 전과정 관점에서 산정하고 이를 기반으로 온실가스 저감효과를 산정하였다. 자동차엔진 원부자재 원료취득 및 제조공정에서 배출되는 온실가스량은 신품제조시 약 3,473 kg, 재제조시 약 872 kg으로 재제조를 통해 저감되는 온실가스량은 약 2,601kg으로 나타나 폐기 단계를 제외한 전과정 측면에서 저감효과가 있는 것으로 분석되었다. LCA 가중화 분석 결과 신품 제조시 환경영향은 1.07E+03 Eco-point, 재제조시 2.67E+02 Eco-point로 나타났으며, 주요 6대 영향 범주 중 지구온난화 점유비율이 99.72%, 99.68%로 높게 나타났다.

Environmental Assessment of Smart Grid Station Project Centered on Pilot Project of Korea Electric Power Corporation Building

  • Increased evidences reveal that the global climate change adversely affect on the environment. Smart grid system is one of the ways to reduce greenhouse gas emissions in the electricity generation sector. Since 2013, Korea Electric Power Corporation (KEPCO) has installed smart grid station in KEPCO office buildings. The goal of this paper is two folds. One is to quantify the reduction in greenhouse gas emissions through smart grid stations installed in KEPCO office buildings as a part of pilot project. Among components of smart grid stations, this research focused on the photovoltaic power system (PV) and energy storage system (ESS). The other is to estimate the reduction in greenhouse gas emissions when PV is applied on individual houses. Results show that greenhouse gas emissions reduce 5.8~11.3% of the emissions generated through the electricity usage after PV is applied in KEPCO office buildings. The greenhouse gas emissions reduction from ESS is not apparent. When PV of 200~500 W is installed in individual houses, annual greenhouse gas emission reduction in 2016 is expected to be approximately $2.2{\sim}5.4million\;tCO_2-eq$, equivalent to 6~15% of greenhouse gas emissions through the electricity usage in the house hold sector. The saving of annual electricity cost in the individual house through PV of 200 W and 500 W is expected to be 47~179 thous and KRW and 123~451 thousand KRW, respectively. Results analyzed in this study show the environmental effect of the smart grid station. In addition, the results can be further used as guidance in implementing similar projects.

  • Environmental impact assessment techniques have been developed as a result of the worldwide efforts to reduce the environmental impact of global warming. By using the quantification method in the construction industry, it is now possible to manage the greenhouse gas is to systematically evaluate the impact on the environment over the entire construction process. In particular, the proportion of greenhouse gas emissions at the production stage of construction material occupied is high, and efforts are needed in the construction field. In this study, intended for concrete products for the construction materials, by using the LCA evaluation method, we compared the results of environmental impact assessment and carbon emissions of developing products that have been applied low-carbon technologies compared to existing products. As a result, by introducing a raw material of industrial waste, showed carbon reduction. Through a comparison of the carbon emission reduction effect of low-carbon technologies, it is intended to provide academic data for the evaluation of greenhouse gases in the construction sector and the development of low-carbon technologies of the future.

기후변화 영향과 향후 적응대책방향에 대한 소고 (Review on Impacts and Possible Adaptation Strategies for Climate Change)

  • According to IPCC fourth assessment report in 2007, global mean temperatures have risen by 0.74 degrees Celsius over the past 100 years. Moreover, in the recent 25 years, global mean temperatures have risen by 0.45 degrees Celsius, which is 2.4-times larger than those in the past 100 years. The evidences for climate change, such as sea level rise, arctic glacier melt, and desertification in Asia, have occurred and increased over the globe. In Korea, because regional climate has been changed, types of agriculture and fishery should be replaced. And as precipitation pattern behave differently from the past decades, water management would be more difficult, furthermore, atmospheric environment, related to concentrations for ozone, sulfate, etc., could be worse. Nevertheless, we have only focused on greenhouse gas reduction duty for the Convention of Climate Change. Fortunately, in the fourth plan on climate change, we have planned to manage climate change more actively since 2007. In Korea, the emission of carbon dioxide has increased about 1.9-times more, from 311million ton in 1990 to 591million ton in 2004. And also about 2 ppm rise every year for concentrations of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere. As a result, ecosystem, quality of water and atmosphere would be affected. Here, the emission of greenhouse gases over the globe is examined, and the effect of greenhouse gases for climate change is reviewed from the results of previous studies. In addition, the countermeasures of mitigation and adaptation on climate change were discussed for the understanding.

GEBT를 활용한 지자체 온실가스 배출량 산정 연구 - 시흥시를 중심으로 - (Evaluation of GHG Emission in Local Governments using GEBT Model)

  • 우리나라 정부는 국가 온실가스 감축 목표를 설정하고, 부문별, 업종별 온실가스 감축 대책을 추진하고 있으며, 이에 맞추어 경기도 등 광역시 도와 기초지자체들도 지역 특성에 적합한 기후변화대응 대책을 수립 추진하고 있다. 하지만 지자체의 경우 저감목표 수립을 위한 정책 단위별 온실가스 배출현황 및 장래 배출량 전망치가 명확하지 않아 많은 어려움이 있다. 올바른 기후변화 적응정책을 수립하기 위해서는 정책적 방향과 검증된 온실가스 발생량 평가가 바탕이 되어야 하고, 국가 차원의 기후변화 영향 및 취약성 평가와 함께 지역의 특성과 여건을 고려한 방법론을 개발할 필요가 있다. 이에 본 연구는 기초지자체인 경기도 시흥시를 대상으로 국립환경과학원에서 지자체에서 쉽게 BAU(Business As Usual) 배출량을 산출할 수 있도록 제작한 GEBT(Greenhouse gas Emission Business as usual Tool) 모형을 사용하여 시흥시의 온실가스 발생량을 산정하였다.

매립가스의 에너지 회수 및 표면발산을 고려한 매립장 온실가스 배출 평가 (Assessment of Greenhouse Gas Emissions from Landfills Based on Energy Recovery and Surface Emissions of Landfill Gas)

  • This study involved a total budget analysis on the greenhouse gas (GHGs) emissions of landfills, focusing on surface emissions and the effect on emissions reductions of generating landfill gas (LFG) electricity from March 7, 2007 to December 31, 2018. The GHGs reduction effect from the electricity generation using 536.6 × 103 tCO2 of CH4 was only 5.8% of the GHGs from surface emissions of 9,191 × 103 tCO2. In the total budget, the collection ratio should be over 95% if the reduction effect is greater than the surface emissions. The correlation coefficient for the relationship between the LFG collection ratio and GHGs reduction was -0.89. An additional effect of lowering CH4 content may occur if the surface emitting flux of LFG decreased with an increase in the collection ratio. The unit reduction effect of GHGs by suppressing surface emissions was 4174 tCO2/TJ. This was far greater than that of LFG power generated (54.3 tCO2/TJ), demonstrating that surface emission control is the most important measure by which to mitigate GHGs emission.

전과정(LCA) 온실가스 평가를 고려한 신재생에너지 공급인증서 가중치 산정 방안 연구 (A study on the estimation of the renewable energy certificates(REC) weight considering the life cycle assessment(LCA) of greenhouse gas emission)

  • 정부는 신재생에너지 보급을 확대하는 RPS제도를 지속해서 개선하지만, 온실가스 저감효과 증대를 위해 환경적인 측면을 더 고려해야 한다는 비판이 있다. 공급인증서 가중치는 신재생 에너지원별로 차등화되어 있다. 공급인증서 가중치 결정 요소의 하나인 온실가스 저감효과 항목 값은 전문가의 의견을 반영하여 결정된다. 이번 연구는 온실가스 배출량을 정확하게 반영하기 위해 전과정 평가를 고려하였다. 전과정 평가는 연료 생산, 수송부터 발전소 건설, 운영, 폐지까지의 전과정에서 발생 되는 온실가스를 정확하게 산출하는 것이다. 이번 연구는 온실가스 저감효과를 기존 정성적 방법에서 정량적 방법으로 변경하는 방안을 제안하고 평가한다. 그 결과, 평가 점수는 바뀌는데, 점수를 등급화하는 구간이 커서 REC 가중치에는 영향을 주지 않는다. 따라서 온실가스 저감효과를 공급인증서 가중치에 직접 반영하는 방안을 제시하였다.

전과정평가 방법에 의한 외끌이 대형기선저인망 어업의 온실 가스 배출량의 정량적 분석 (A Quantitative Analysis of Greenhouse Gas Emissions from the Danish Seine Fishery using Life Cycle Assessment)

  • The fishing industry has a negative effect on the environment due to greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions with the high use of fossil fuels, the destruction of underwater ecosystems by bottom trawls, reduction in resources by fishing, and altered ecosystem diversity. GHG emissions from fisheries were discussed at the Canc$\acute{u}$n meeting in Mexico in 1992 and are part of the Kyoto protocol in 2005. However, few studies have investigated the GHG emissions from Korean fisheries. To find a way to reduce GHG emissions from fisheries, quantitative analysis of GHG emissions from the Korean fishery industry is needed. Therefore, this study investigated the GHG emissions from the Korean Danish seine fishery using the life cycle assessment (LCA) method. The system boundary and input parameters for each process level are defined for the LCA analysis. The fuel-use coefficient of the fishery is also calculated. The GHG emissions from the representative fish caught by the Danish seine fishery are considered and the GHG emissions for the edible weight of fishes are calculated, considering consumption in different areas and different slaughtering processes. The results will help to understand the GHG emissions from Korean fisheries.

저탄소도시 구현을 위한 전략수립에 관한 연구 (A Study on Strategy for Embodiment of Low Carbon City)

  • The purpose of this study is to propose strategies for reducing greenhouse gas emissions on urban areas. This study is made up GHG emission estimation and emission prospect methods, setting of GHG reduction target, GHG reduction plan formulation and feasibility assessment. The significance of this study is as follows. First, this study provides the local government for the overall frame of low carbon strategies. Second, this study contribute to establishment of GHG emission reduction strategies in the local autonomy by providing GHG emission estimation and setting reduction target which is essential elements of reduction strategy. Third, we organize a reduction element for low carbon city embodiment and showed the way to assessment the reduction effect of these elements quantitatively.
