This study reduced and built Street Canyons created by skyscrapers in order to verify effect of Street Canyons by green wall within the city centre and analysed influence factors on temperature reduction according to applicative types of green wall in the lab. Applicative types were divided into three types such as non- greening type(Case A), one-side greening type(Case B), both side greening type(Case C). The result of analysis of each types showed that average temperature of Case B and Case C is respectively $1.0^{\circ}C$ and $1.7^{\circ}C$ lower than Case A. The result of analysis of WBGT was that the highest temperature was given by Case A($40.2^{\circ}C$) and second one was from Case B($39.8^{\circ}C$) and third one was from ($39.1^{\circ}C$) and in UTCI Case A records the highest temperature of $34.7^{\circ}C$ and Case B provided the second highest temperature of $33.9^{\circ}C$ and Case B gave the lowest temperature of $32.7^{\circ}C$. In PMV the highest temperature of 2.65 was from Case B and second one of 2.61 was from Case A and third one of 2.54 was from Case C. Duncan analysis of each types based on solar radiation and thermal comfort generated that there was analytical significance between Case A and Case B and Case B in terms of each types of average temperature reduction. The significance of thermal comfort in WBGT, MRT, PMV showed non-significance but, In UTCI it was analysed that there was significance between Case C and Case A.

Green remodeling of pubic buildings for improving indoor environment and reducing energy consumption is increasingly promoted. The objective of this study is to measure and analyze for wall's thermal performance, thermal transmittance, of existing buildings. The method of this present study refered the ISO 9869-1 and is to measured heat flow, surface temperature of wall, and in/outdoor temperature over 7 days. And it was compared the calculated thermal transmittance with measured one. The measured wall's thermal transmittance value is about two times than the calculated thermal transmittance value.
This study was carried out on freshwater chlorococcal green algae in ponds, swamps, reservoirs, lakes and rivers (290 sites) from May 2012 to January 2014. The family Radiococaceae was identified and classified into 3 genera, 12 species and 1 variety at 23 sites. These taxa were Eutetramorus. nygaardii, E. tetraporus, E. planctonicus, E. fottii, E. globosus, E. polycoccus, Coenocystis planctonica, C. planctonica var. hercynica, C. micrococca, C. subcylindrica, Gloeocystis baneergattensis, G. papuana, and G. polydermatica. These taxa may or not had remnants of the cell wall in the colonial gelatinous envelope for a short time. Of these, 2 taxa are newly recorded in Korea from this study: 1) C. micrococca and 2) G. polydermatica.
A study on fresh-water green coccoid algae was carried out at ponds, swamps, reservoirs, lakes and rivers (290 sites) from May 2011 to January 2014. In this study, 4 genera and 13 taxa of the family Radiococaceae having the remnants of cell wall existing for a long time in the colonial gelatinous envelope are classified and identified from 24 sites. Today, there is a growing need of environment-friendly buildings, so-called 'green', facilities, and energy saving buildings to decrease environmental pollutants released into cities by construction activities. Green-Building Information Modeling (Green-BIM) is a purpose-built solution which supports to forecast energy consumption of 3-D model of a building by augmenting its primary 3-D measurements (width, height and depth) with many more dimensions (e.g. time, costs, social impacts and environmental consequences) throughout a series of sequential phases in the lifecycle of a building. The current study was carried out in order to integrate vegetation systems (particularly green roof and green wall systems) and investigate thermal performance of the new Sainsbury's building which will be built on Melton road, Leicester, United Kingdom. Within this scope, a 3-D building model of the news Sainsbury's building was first developed in $Autodesk^{(R)}$$Revit^{(R)}$ and this model was then simulated in $Autodesk^{(R)}$$Ecotect^{(R)}$once weather data of the construction site was obtained from $Autodesk^{(R)}$ Green Building $Studio^{(R)}$. This study primarily analyzed data from (1) solar radiation, (2) heat gains and losses, and (3) heating and cooling loads simulation to evaluate thermal performance of the building integrated with vegetation system or conventionally available envelops. The results showed that building integrated vegetation system can potentially reduce internal solar gains on the building rooftops by creating a 'bioshade'. Heat gains and losses through roofs and walls were markedly diminished by offering greater insulation on the building. Annual energy loads for heating and cooling were significantly reduced by vegetation more significantly through the green roof system in comparison to green wall system.
This study purports to investigate the status quo of the environmentally-friendly green healthcare in teaching hospitals through the questionnaire survey. Data were collected from a total of 46 hospitals. The survey results revealed that most teaching hospitals did not meet the global standard of environmentally-friendly green hospitals. Especially, such items as alternative energy system, water recycling, CO2 emission reduction, green building construction, installation of pond or spring were found to be significantly below global standard. Based upon the study results, various strategies for establishing green hospitals were discussed. For example, energy saving design, such as solar heating, natural wind cooling, automatic temperature controller, green material use, wall surrounded by ivy, were recommended. In conclusion, the strategy and evaluation tool developed in the study will provide a good guide for establishing environmentally-friendly green hospitals.
Uniform, hollow nanosilica spheres were prepared by the chemical coating of cationic polystyrene (cPS) with tetraethylorthosilicate (TEOS), followed by calcination at 600 $^{\circ}C$ under air. cPS was synthesized by surfactant-free emulsion polymerization using 2,2'-azobis (2-methyl propionamidine) dihydrochloride as the cationic initiator, and poly(vinyl pyrrolidone) as a stabilizer. The resulting cPS spheres were 280 nm in diameter, and showed monodispersion. After coating, the hollow silica product was spherically shaped, and 330 nm in diameter, with a narrow distribution of sizes. Dispersion was uniform. Wall thickness was 25 nm, and surface area was 96.4 $m^2/g$, as determined by BET. The uniformity of the wall thickness was strongly dependent upon the cPS surface charge. The effects of TEOS and ammonia concentrations on shape, size, wall thickness, and surface roughness of hollow $SiO_2$ spheres were investigated. We observed that the wall thicknesses of hollow $SiO_2$ spheres increased and that silica size was simultaneously enhanced with increases in TEOS concentrations. When ammonia concentrations were increased, the irregularity of rough surfaces and aggregation of spherical particles were more severe because higher concentrations of ammonia result in faster hydrolysis and condensation of TEOS. These changes caused the silica to grow faster, resulting in hollow $SiO_2$ spheres with irregular, rough surfaces.
Green environment is most important factor to human being taking a side view of psychological aspect. But, as the civilization progresses rapidly, the green environment decreases. At present, various environmentally friendly methods are developed to prevent the ill effect of the concretes. n this study, Ecostone retaining wall method, which is a kind of environmentally friendly block, are used for verifying the application to the slope stability and protection of rural hosing. In case of rural hosing and structure, the height of the slope is not high and additional loading doesn't act on the slope except the gravity loading of housing and structure. From the result of the stability analysis of Ecostone, 3m to 7m Ecostone retaining wall can have an equivalence capacity comparing with the concrete retaining wall. Therefore, Ecostone method can apply to retaining wall with the structural safety and environmentally friendly aspect using the plants and vegetation.
