차밭에 설치된 차광망의 동해경감 효과 (Effect of Shade Net on Reduction of Freezing Damage at a Tea Garden)

  • 월동기간 동안의 차나무에 대한 차광망 색상과 차광율에 따른 동해경감에 미치는 영향을 조사한 결과, 차광율 변화에 대한 효과는 차광율이 높아질수록 차나무생육이 불량하고 동해 피해율이 높았으며, 무처리구 대비 55% 차광율에서 신초 및 생엽수확량이 좋게 나타났다. 차광망 색상별로 보면, 투명망(차광망 55% 수준) 처리구와 녹색 차광망 처리구가 무처리구와 검정 차광망 처리구에 비해 생엽수확량과 피해면적이 감소하였다. 투명망 처리구가 무처리구에 비해 동해 피해율이 50%이상 감소하고, 생엽수확량은 무처리구보다 투명망 처리구에서 단위면적당(10a) 68kg 더 많았다. 차광망의 색상별 동해경감은 검정<녹색<투명 색상 순으로 동해 경감률이 다소 높게 나타났다. 처리구간의 미기상변화를 보면 처리구가 무처리구에 비해 평균기온은 $0.7^{\circ}C$ 낮았으며, 평균상대습도는 14.9% 높게 관측되었고, 지중온도는 $0.6^{\circ}C$ 낮은 반면에 토양수분은 4.6% 높게 관측 되었다. 또한 차광망 피복물 설치에 의한 평균풍속은 무처리구 대비 0.7m/s 감소하여, 바람에 의한 과잉 증발산과 토양의 건조를 줄여주는 효과가 있었으며, 동해경감의 방안으로 활용이 가능한 것으로 판단되었다.

Green Tea Maintains Antioxidative Defense Enzyme Activities and Protects Against Lipid Peroxidation in Rat Gastrocnemius Muscles After Aerobic Exercise

  • This study investigated the effects of green tea on the muscle antioxidative defense system in the white & red gastrocnemius muscles of rats after aerobic exercise. Male Sprague-Dawley rats weighing 150 10 g were randomly assigned to a control group, non-exercise with green tea group (G group), and exercise training group. The exercise training group was then further classified as the training (T) group and training with green tea (TG) group, the latter of which was supplemented with green tea in the drinking water during the experimental period. The rats in the exercise training groups (T and TG) were subjected to aerobic exercise on a treadmill 30 min/day at a speed of 28 m/min (7% incline) 5 days/week, while the other groups (control and G group) were cage confined for 4 weeks. Thereafter, the rats were sacrificed with an injected overdose of pentobarbital just after running. In the white muscle, the xanthine oxidase (XOD) activities were 71 % higher in the T group compared to control group, whereas the TG group had the same activity as the control group. The XOD activities in the red gastrocnemius muscle exhibited the same tendency as in the white muscle. The superoxide dismutase (SOD) activity in the white muscle was lower in the T group compared with the control group, yet significantly higher in the TG group compared with the T group. The SOD activities in the red gastrocnemius muscle exhibited the same tendency as in the white gastrocnemius muscle. The glutathione peroxidase (GSHpx) activities in the white & red gastrocnemius muscles were 43 % lower in the T group compared with the control group, yet the activities in the TG group remained at control levels. The glutathione S-transferase (GST) activity in the white muscle was not significantly different among any of the three groups, but in the red gastrocnemius muscle, the TG group had the same activity as in the control group. The thiobarbituric acid reactive substance (TBARS) contents in the white & red gastrocnemius muscles were higher in the T group than in the control but the control and TG groups had the same concentrations of TBARS. In conclusion, the supplementation of green tea in rats subjected to aerobic exercise was found to reduce the peroxidation of muscle lipids by enhancing the antioxidative defense mechanism.

250 km/h급 고속용 강체전차선 및 이행장치 I : 구조설계 (Overhead Rigid Conductor and Transition Structure for High-Speed (Over 250 km/h) I : Structural Design)

  • With the increasing running speed of trains, new railway lines in metropolitan areas, and the rising demand for green transportations, the number of underground and tunnel sections are constantly becoming larger, and installations of overhead rigid conductor systems are becoming wider. However, domestic commercial products for overhead rigid conductors are limited to 120 km/h train speeds. In this study, to develop a high-speed (250 km/h) overhead rigid conductor, R-Bar (Rigid Bar), the electrical and mechanical stability was enhanced through the improvement of the cross sectional shape of the R-Bar; the transition structure was also designed for flexibility and natural frequency isolation. In addition, the evaluation of contact forces between a pantograph and the overhead rigid conductor system for 250 km/h train speeds was performed using dynamic analysis.

Analyzing the Impact of Supply Noise on Jitter in GBPS Serial Links on a Merged I/O-Core Power Delivery Network

  • In this paper, the impact of integrating large number of I/O (Input-Output) and Core power Delivery Network (PDN) on a 6 layers Flip-Chip Ball Grid Array (FCBGA) package is investigated. The impact of core induced supply noise on high-speed I/O interfaces, and high-speed I/O interface's supply noise coupling to adjacent high-speed I/O interfaces' jitter impact are studied. Concurrent stress validation software is used to induce SSO noise on each individual I/O interfaces; and at the same time; periodic noise is introduced from Core PDN into the I/O PDN domain. In order to have the maximum coupling impact, a prototype package is designed to merge the I/O and Core PDN as one while impact on jitter on each I/O interfaces are investigated. In order to understand the impact of the Core to I/O and I/O to I/O noise, the on-die noise measurements were measured and results were compared with the original PDN where each I/O and Core PDN are standalone and isolated are used as a benchmark.

나노-마이크로 알루미늄 혼합 입자의 공기와의 연소 모델링 (Combustion Modeling of Nano/Micro Aluminum Particle Mixture)

  • 금속 연료 중 널리 사용되는 알루미늄의 연소 특성에 관하여 1차원 연소모델링을 제안하였다. 연소 모델링은 예열영역, 반응영역, 반응 후 영역, 세 영역으로 나누어 수행하였다. 또한 희박연소로 가정하여 단일 입자의 경우 입자크기와 당량비에 따른 화염속도, 나노와 마이크로 입자의 혼합물의 경우 혼합 비율에 따른 화염속도를 압력이 1기압 조건에서 계산하여 실험결과와 비교하였다. 단일입자의 경우, 입자의 크기가 작아질수록 화염속도가 빨라지고, 당량비가 낮아질수록 화염속도가 느려지는 현상이 관찰되었다. 나노와 마이크로 입자의 혼합물의 경우, 나노 입자의 함유량에 따라 화염속도는 빨라지며, 화염구조는 분리화염과 중첩화염이 나타남이 관찰되었다.

고속 집적회로 패키지 인터커넥션을 위한 설계 데이타베이스 (A Design Database for High Speed IC Package Interconnection)

  • In this paper, high speed IC package-to-package interconnections are modeled as lossless multiconductor transmission lines operating in the TEM mode. And, three mathematical algorithms for computing electrical parameters of the lossless multiconductor transmission lines are described. A semi-analytic Green's function method is used in computing per unit length capacitance and inductance matrices, a matrix square root algorithm based on the QR algorithm is used in computing a characteristic impedance matrix, and a matrix algorithm based on the theory of M-matrix is used in computing a diagonally matched load impedance matrix. These algorithms are implemented in a computer program DIME (DIagonally Matched Load Impedance Extractor) which computes electrical parameters of the lossless multiconductor transmission lines. Also, to illustrate the concept of design database for high speed IC package-to-package interconnection, a database for the multi conductor strip transmission lines system is constructed. This database is constructed with a sufficiently small number of nodes using the multi-dimensional cubic spline interpolation algorithm. The maximum interpolation error for diagonally matched load impedance matrix extraction from the database is 1.3 %.

파랑 표류력을 고려한 선박의 파랑 중 선회성능 해석 (Numerical Analysis of Turning Performance in Waves by Considering Wave Drift Forces)

  • This paper performs a numerical computation of ship maneuvering performance in waves. For this purpose, modular-type model (MMG (Mathematical Modeling Group) model) is adopted for maneuvering simulation and wave drift force is included in the equation of maneuvering motion. In order to compute wave drift force, two different seakeeping programs are used: AdFLOW based on Wave Green function method and SWAN based on Rankine panel method. When wave drift force is calculated using SWAN program, not only ship forward speed but also ship lateral speed are considered. By doing this, effects of lateral speed on wave drift force and maneuvering performance in waves are confirmed. The developed method is validated by comparing turning test results in regular waves with existing experimental data. Sensitivities of wave drift force on maneuvering performance are, also, checked.

탄소저감형 다차원 도로선형설계를 위한 솔루션 알고리즘 개발 (Development of Solution Algorithm for Multi-dimention Road Alignment Design Considering Low-Carbon)

  • Government efforts for green growth policy initiatives demand low-carbon technologies in the road construction industry. The purpose of this paper is to develop an algorithm of a road alignment design solution for establishing the multi-dimensional information, and to calculate carbon emission quantity due to the geometric design elements in the planning phase of road alignment. The paper developed a calculation method for carbon emission quantity by drawing a speed profile reflected in the operating speed, acceleration and deceleration, which are majors factor of carbon emissions while driving and by applying a carbon emission factor. From this effort, it enabled alignment planning to reduce carbon emission. Object-based parametric design methods of the cross-sections were proposed for alignment planning, and the paper demonstrated a BIM-based road alignment planning solution. The proposed solutions can provide multi-dimensional information on carbon emission quantity and cross section elements through driving simulation. It is expected to allow construction of eco-friendly roads by deriving optimal road alignment to minimize environmental costs.

Willemite 결정유에 NiO 첨가가 발색에 미치는 영향 (Effect of Color Development of Willemite Crystalline Glaze by Adding NiO)

  • When metal oxides are added into crystalline glaze, colors of glaze and crystals are similar as colorants generally. But the case of NiO in zinc crystalline glaze is different from general color development. When NiO is added to zinc crystalline glaze it can develop two or three colors. The active use of color development mechanism by adding NiO to the zinc crystalline glaze to control color of the base glaze and crystal with stability is investigated. This report is expected to contribute to the ceramic industry in improving application of zinc crystalline glaze. For the experiment of NiO, the quantity of NiO additives is changed to the base glaze for the most adequate formation of willemite crystal from previous research and firing condition: temperature increasing speed $5^{\circ}C/min$, holding 1 h at $1270^{\circ}C$, annealing speed $3^{\circ}C/min$ till $1170^{\circ}C$, holding 2 h at $1170^{\circ}C$ then naturally annealed. The samples are characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD), UV-vis, and Micro-Raman. The result of the procedure as follows; Ni substitutes for Zn ion then glaze develops blue willemite crystals, as if cobalt is used, on brown glaze base. When NiO quantity is increased to over 5 wt%, willemite size is decreased, and the density of the crystal is increased, at the same time $Ni_2SiO_4$ (olivine) phase, the second phase, has been developed. The excessive NiO is reacted with silicate in the glass then developed green $Ni_2SiO_4$ (olivine), and quantity of $Ni_2SiO_4$ (olivine) is increased as quantity of willemite is decreased. It is proved to create three colors, blue, brown and green by controlling the quantity of NiO to the zinc crystalline glaze and it will improve the multiple use of colors to the ceramic design.

스테인리스 쿨링포그의 온도저감효과 검증을 위한 모델설계 및 실증 실험 (Model Design and Demonstration Test for the Verification of Temperature Reduction Effect of Cooling Fog System with Stainless Steel)

  • According to a NASA Goddard Institute for Space Studies report, temperatures have risen by approximately 1℃ so far, based on temperatures recorded in 1880. The 2003 heatwave in Europe affected approximately 35,000 people across Europe. In this study, a cooling fog, which is used in smart cities, was designed to efficiently reduce the temperature during a heatwave and its pilot test results were interpreted. A model experiment of the cooling fog was conducted using a chamber, in which nano mist spray instruments and spray nozzles were installed. The designed cooling fog chamber model showed a temperature reduction of up to 13.8℃ for artificial pavement and up to 8.0℃ for green surfaces. However, this model was limited by constant wind speed in the experiment. Moreover, if the cooling fog is used when the wind speed is more than 3m/s in the active green zone, the temperature reduction felt by humans is expected to be even greater. As a second study, the effect of cooling fog on temperature reduction was analyzed by installing a pilot test inside the Land Housing Institute (LHI). The data gathered in this research can be useful for the study of heat reduction techniques in urban areas.
