웰빙 중심 친환경 건축인증을 위한 연구 - 웰빙항목 도입을 위한 전문가 AHP 분석을 중심으로 - (Research on the well-being-centric green building certification - Focused on AHP Analysis of Expert Survey in order to introduce well-being criteria -)

  • Purpose: This study is conducted to contribute to the improvement of Green Standard for Energy and Environmental Design(G-SEED) from the existing energy physical efficiency-centric system to the well-being-centric green building certification system. Method: In order to modify existing G-SEED Certification, three phases of research have been conducted; 1) identification of needs of well-being-centric environment-friendly construction certification system, 2) comparison of domestic certification system with WELL Building standard(WELL) which focuses on human health and promotion of wellness and 3) AHP analysis to sort out the supplement items from WELL. Result: We proposed four alternatives which should be preferentially introduced to the existing domestic certification system; addition of independent 'well-being' section(field) in G-SEED, insertion of 'well-being' indicators in each relevant section of G-SEED, addition of 'well-being' indicators in 'Innovative Design(ID)' of G-SEED and independent score systems for 25 items in a high priority.

그린리모델링 건축물을 위한 녹색건축인증기준 개선방향에 대한 기초 연구 (A Fundamental Study on the Revision Direction of G-SEED for Green Remodeling Building)

  • Purpose: G-SEED's evaluation of existing buildings in Korea is an important point because the energy consumption and CO2 emissions of existing buildings are continuously increasing due to the aging of buildings over time. In 2016, the government has set up a 'Green Remodeling Certification Standard' in G-SEED in order to revitalize the green remodeling business of existing buildings. As a result, G-SEED is distinguished between buildings with green remodeling and buildings with general remodeling. Therefore, this study analyzed the system of the certification of the green remodeling building which is aimed at improving the performance of the building. Method: First, we analyze characteristics of the existing building certification standards of G-SEED(Korea), LEED(USA), and BREEAM(UK). Second, the evaluation criteria are based on the G-SEED Green Remodeling Certification, 2016, LEED for BD + C: New construction and major renovation v.4, BREEAM UK Non-Domestic Refurbishment and Fit-out 2014. Based on the analysis results, we propose the improvement direction of G-SEED Green Remodeling Certification Standard. Result: Existing buildings should be classified into 'existing building certification' for re-certification and 'green remodeling certification' accompanied by building performance improvement. In addition, building green buildings through performance improvement should include not only energy performance, but also creating a pleasant indoor environment and minimizing environmental impact. Finally, existing buildings have accumulated information on energy and resource use, and a performance improvement plan should be established based on this information.

  • Environmental conferences in international society have held on Rio de Janeiro from UNCED in 1992 upward (United Nations Conference on Environment and Development) for countermeasure of environmental matters. Developed countries like United States, Japan, Canada and British are to take effect building performance certification criteria what is certification system of environment for promotion in aspects of eco-friendly buildings. Purposes of this study are research in standards and status of certification systems which are LEED in USGBC since 1993 in United States, GBCC of KGBC in state-run organization since 2002 and 'Environmental-friendly Building Guidelines' of Seoul to be recently driven. And then, offer proposals of promotion aims for revitalization in GBCC.

  • Purpose: As the concerns for the environment are gradually prioritized, increasing interests of environment-friendly buildings are drawn. The Green Standard for Energy & Environmental Design (G-SEED) has been strengthened. However, there are no specific assessment criteria that reflect the special situation of healthcare facility. UK, US and Japan have green building certifications specially designed to evaluate sustainable healthcare facilities. This study has been started in order to provide basic information for developing assessment criteria for healthcare facilities in Korean Green Standard for Energy and Environmental Design. Methods: In this study, we investigated three foreign green building certifications and compared their assessment system and criteria for healthcare buildings. Results: Each of the three foreign certification standards showed the difference in the system, but all contained the contents specific to healthcare facilities. Evaluation items were affected by regional cultural environment and also medical environment. Patient safety and integrative planning were the most important assessment contents. Implications: Based on this analysis, Korean Green Standard for Energy & Environmental Design for healthcare facilities will be developed.

LEED 인증사례 분석을 통한 교육시설의 녹색건축 인증기준에 관한 연구 (A Study on Green Building Certification Criteria of Educational Facilities based on LEED Certified Cases)

  • Sustainability became the keyword of our society worldwide, and it is undoubtful that buildings are mainly responsible for green house gas emission and energy consumption. Among different project types, educational facility was selected in this study to find out what needs to be addressed in order to provide students better learning environments. Scorecards from 32 LEED certified school projects went through analysis and essential components as design strategies in sustainable educational facilities were extracted based on application rate of each credit in LEED for School(2009). The extracted data were further analyzed in comparison with related components in G-SEED. The results would be used as guidelines for those of who design sustainable education facilities and prepare green building certifications. and it would further foster architect's responsibility towards green society in Korea.

소형주택의 친환경건축물 인증기준 개선방향에 관한 연구 -LEED for Homes와의 비교를 중심으로- (A Study on the Improvement of the Green Building Certification Criteria for Detached Houses - Focusing on Comparisons of LEED for Homes -)

  • The purpose of this study is to generate implications for the Green Building Certification System(GBCS) for detached houses, by comparing LEED for homes. Detached houses were added to the GBCS and took an effect this year. They are evaluated by the GBCS under special conditions, because they are designed by small architectural offices with limited budget. In this respect, this paper points out the problems of the GBCS for these detached houses and highlights some areas to be improved. As the first step, the definition of sustainable building and the design method of green building were investigated. By doing so, this study acknowledges the potential analysis methods in making valid comparisons with LEED for homes. Secondly, this study makes a comparative analysis of the GBCS for detached houses and the GBCS for apartment houses, LEED for New Construction(NC) and LEED for houses. Lastly, it identifies the problems and suggests better ways to improve the GBCS for detached houses through integrated analysis of the GBCS and LEED.

  • The purpose of this study is to derive and to apply green factors focusing on the existing old settlements, Topdong 'Yangdalmal' in Cheongju City. This study is conducted through literatures and GBCC (Green Building Certification Criteria) review. Literatures cover the traditional characteristics of farming village and the modern characteristics of urban space today. The results are following as; first, Land Use, Environment, Resource and Energy are the most important green factors by literatures and GBCC. Second, traditional elements and natural elements such as history and culture, natural resource use and passive planning are added. Finally information communication is added as the green factor showed feature of modern society.

리모델링시 학교시설의 친환경건축물 인증요소 비교분석 연구 (A Study on the Comparative Analysis of the Green Building Certification Criteria for Schools in remodeling)

  • This study is purposed on applying to certifying environmental-friendly buildings about remodeling schools as an issue recently, keeping up a worldwide resource conservation movement. Application standard is directed, comparing with systems certifying green-schools in domestic and foreign policies. The following is the primary result of this study. First, on developing systems for certifying environmental-friendly buildings about remodeling schools, characteristics like ‘the phase of certifying essential lists and the diversity of certifying lists’, ‘developing departmentally into new-building, reconstruction, remodeling, existing-building in basic data’, ‘development of certifying existing-buildings as well as new-building’ in foreign systems should be developed appropriately for Korea. Next, not only reuse of the existing facilities but better assessment through diversification of classified contents in domestic system are carried out in comparing remodeling lists. Especially the primary list that is found out commonly limited lists certifying remodeling should be developed appropriately. Impossible lists getting certification should be applied to map out a concrete standard. Lastly, the range of certification should be diversified and developed sustainable like other systems for better assessment. Adding various lists suiting for Korea and departmentalizing score of phases and items in particular, for avoiding a needless collision between certification lists, absence of them. Above of all, basic direction about certifying environmental-friendly buildings about remodeling schools should be developed the only individual instrument, not for gaining it simply as a part of the environmental policy in Korea. This study has significance on vitalization of certifying environmental-friendly buildings, which performing primary environmental-friendly education facilities, based on its advance.

녹색건축 인증제도 평가항목에 대한 설계 실무자 및 사용자 의식 차이 분석 - 공동주택 인증 평가항목을 중심으로 - (Analyzing the Differential Views between the Designers and the Users on Certification Assessment Criteria of the G-SEED System - Focused on Certification Assessment Criteria for Apartment Buildings -)

  • Purpose: The green building certification system in Korea was introduced in 2002 and developed as an improvement version of the G-SEED(Green Standard for Energy and Environmental Design) system in 2013. This study conducts surveys targeting architectural designers and users on significance of certification assessment criteria for apartment buildings on the G-SEED system and examines the differential views between the two groups on assessment criteria. Method: First, The AHP(Analytic Hierarchy Process) method was used to find importance of assessment criteria and then the importances were compared with weighted points on the certification standard. Second, the t-test was used to investigate differential views between designer and user groups on certification assessment criteria based on drawn importances. Result: (1) While designer group considered land use and transportation, energy and environmental pollution, and water circulation management as more important, user group did material and resource, maintenance management, ecological environment, and indoor environment as more important. (2) Based on t-test results, sustainable energy, water circulation system, site management, habitat, acoustical environment, and light environment were found to be different on importance between the two groups.

친환경건축물(親環境建築物) 인증기준(認證基準)을 이용(利用)한 송도국제도시(松島國際都市) 건축물(建築物)의 친환경성(親環境性) 평가(評價) (Environmental Performance Evaluation for Song-do City Constructions by using Green Building Certification Criteria)

  • Song-do City is a newly constructed city built on land reclaimed from the seaside and the surrounding area. Its development involved a long process since the basic plans for reclamation of the publicly owned seaside area in Song-do were drawn up in September 1979. However, if we take a look at the overall status of the project as it is carried on at present, it is hard to deny that the project is trapped inside the same legal restrictions as are all other existing cities, which permits Song-do City to meet only very minimum standards. This study intends to analyze and assess the Song-do City's environmentally friendly construction and to rate its current development status, exposing any problems and offering alternative solutions. In this paper, the current state of constructions in Song-do City were reviewed. Then a quantitative analysis and assessment for the Song-do City constructions of apartments, complex buildings, office buildings, and school facilities were conducted by using green building certification criteria. Finally the synthetic results of environmental performance evaluation for Song-do city constructions and follow-up suggestions were described.
