Ultrastructure of the hemopoietic organ in the grasshopper, Euprepocnemis shirakii, was studied using light and electron microscopes. The hemopoietic organs located on the upper surface of the dorsal diaphragm between 1st and 8th segments were consisted of 3 kinds of cells; the reticular cells, stem cells and two types of granulocytes. The reticular cells had numerous cytoplasmic processes and forming a complex network. Characteristically, pinocytotic vesicles and rough endoplasmic reticulum were well developed in this cell. The stem cells give rise to differentiating hemocytes of the different cell lineages. Granulocytes within the hemopoietic organs were originated from the stern cells and differentiated into two types of hemocytes ; granulocyte( I ), granulocyte( II ).

While evaluating fungal diversity in fecal and freshwater samples in Korea, three fungal strains, CNUFC-GHD83-1, CNUFC-RD8126, and CNUFC-YR2-1, were isolated from specific habitats including grasshopper and rat feces, and freshwater samples in Korea. On the basis of the morphological characteristics and phylogenetic analysis of the internal transcribed spacer (ITS) and 28S rDNA, the isolates CNUFC-GHD83-1, CNUFC-RD8126, and CNUFC-YR2-1 were identified as Albifimbria terrestris, Cephaliophora tropica, and Mariannaea aquaticola, respectively. These species have not been previously described in Korea.

This paper proposes an automatic detection method of intonational and accentual phrases in Korean standard continuous speech. We use the pause over 150 msec for detecting intonational phrases, and extract accentual phrases from the intonational phrases by analyzing syllables and pitch contours. The speech data for the experiment are composed of seven male voices and two female voices which read the texts of the fable 'the ant and the grasshopper' and a newspaper article 'manmulsang' in normal speed and in Korean standard variation. The results of the experiment shows that the detection rate of intonational phrases is 95% on the average and that of accentual phrases is 73%. This detection rate implies that we can segment the continuous speech into smaller units(i.e. prosodic phrases) by using the prosodic information and so the objects of speech recognition can narrow down to words or phrases in continuous speech.

Friction between piston-ring assembly and cylinder wall of a spark ignition engine was evaluated under various engine operating conditions utilizing a grasshopper linkage system. The friction force was estimated by the force balance relation at the small end of connecting rod. Three forces were chosen to be measured for the objective. They were gas pressure inside the cylinder, inertia force of the piston-ring assembly, and the force exerted by the connecting rod. These forces were measured by a piezo type pressure sensor, an accelerometer and strain gauges, respectively. Comparisons were made with the frictional force evaluated by the conventional method where the assumption of constant rotational speed of engines was adopted. Due to the variation of rotational speed of engines, the conventional method was found to lead to a large error in the evaluation of the frictional force.

Jini는 분산 컴퓨팅 환경에서 네트워크 플러그 앤 워크(Network Plug and Work)를 가능하게 해주는 기로서, 실세계의 네트워크에 연결된 주변기기나 응용프로그램을 Jini 서비스로 등록하여 동적으로 작업경을 구성할 수 있는 새로운 분산 패러다임으로 자리잡고 있다. 본 논문에서는 Jini 기반의 이동 에이전트 시스템을 설계하고 구현하였다. SMART, Grasshopper, Aglets 같은 CORBA 기반의 이동 에이전트 시스템은 표준화, 동적 서비스 등록 및 에이전트의 영속성을 지원하기에 미흡하였으나, 개발된 시스템은 Jini 서비스를 이용하여 이러한 문제들을 체계적으로 해결하고자 하였다. 본 시스템은 Jini 서비스로 동작하는 이동 에이전트 시스템, 에이전트와 에이전트 시스템의 위치 보를 관리하는 위치정보 제공자, 그리고 이동 불가능한 에이전트를 임시 저장하는 이동경로관리자로 구성 된다.

등검은메뚜기(EuprepoceRneTmis shirak시 성충에서 면역작용에 관여하는 혈구로 확인된 Plasmatocvte와 granu10cvte 1 딪 granu10cyte 11의 형태와 미세구조적 특징을 광학현미경과 전자현미경을 이용하여 관찰하였다. Plasmatocyte는 방추형 또는 맡은 세포질돌기를 형성하고 있는 다형의 형태로 세포질에는 리소조옴과 식포가 존재하고 있었고, 식포의 융합에 의해서 형성된 multivesicular body가 관찰되었다. Granulocyte 1은 구형의 형태로 세포질에는 약 0.2-0.3 urn 크기의 과립을 함유하고 있었으며, 특히 원형질막 가장자리에 세포의 골격을 유지하는 미세소관 다발을 갖고 있었다. Granulocyte 11는 난형 또는 방추형의 형태로 세포질에는 약 0.5-0.8 Um의 과립이 세포질의 대부분을 차지하고 있었으며, 세포소기 관은 granu10cyte 1보다 덜 발달되어 있었다.

비정형의 대공간 구조물은 대량의 부재가 규칙성을 가지고 공간상에서 반복되는 패턴을 가지는 특징이 있다. 이러한 특징은 기존의 구조해석 모델러로부터의 접근을 어렵게 하는 반면, 관계성과 규칙성을 논리적으로 모델링함으로써 최종 모델을 생성해내는 파라메트릭 모델링 방법에는 매우 적합하다. 본 연구에서는 이전의 연구를 통해 개발된 파라메트릭 구조해석 모델링 툴인 STRAUTO을 이용해 전형적인 비정형 대공간 구조물인 용인시민체육공원 주경기장의 모델링에 파라메트릭 모델링 기법을 직접 적용해 봄으로써 이 새로운 접근법의 적합성과 효율성을 검토해 보았다.

오랜만에 지난 작업들을 뒤돌아 볼 기회가 생겼습니다. 누구에게나 인생의 큰 흐름에 영향을 미치는 사건이 일어나기 마련인데요, 저의 경우는 지난 근 십년간 함께 해온 파라메트릭 디자인을 접하게 된 일이 그러한 사건들 중 하나였다고 생각이 됩니다. 그런 의미에서 트레이싱지 위에 로트링펜으로 선을 처음 그었던 그 강렬했던 기억 이후로 건축 설계를 해오면서 가장 기억에 남는 한 사건을 꼽으려고 한다면 단연히 Cornell 건축 대학원 재학 당시 처음 접하게 되었던 GenerativeComponents 수업을 이야기 하고 싶습니다. 연재를 시작하면서 잠시 언급한 바가 있었던 것 같은데요, 파라메트릭 디자인이라는 미지의 영역을 알게 해준 것이 바로 Bentley 사에서 만든 GenerativeComponents 라는 파라메트릭 디자인 툴 입니다. Microstation은 Autocad와 함께 건축설계 시장에서 많은 사용자층을 확보 하였던 캐드 툴 중 하나 이었으며 자체적으로 BIM 및 파라메트릭 툴을 위한 패키지가 Rhino의 Grasshopper의 출현 이전부터 존재하여 왔을 정도로 발전된 자동화 설계 플랫폼이었습니다. 현재도 특정 건축사사무소들이 Microstation을 꾸준히 사용하고 있으며 특히 Infra structure, plant나 civil engineering 등의 건축 외 설계 분야에서는 여전히 폭넓은 사용자층을 확보하고 있습니다. 하지만 건축 시장에서는 Rhino를 바탕으로 하는 플러그인 패키지 및 Autodesk의 건축설계 통합 패키지 등에 밀려서 사용자층이 얇아진 편입니다.

This paper introduces two platforms created by the development team at CORE studio, Thornton Tomasetti's global innovation studio. Collaborative platforms change the way that parties communicate and develop projects. Wikipedia is one of many great examples for a platform that supports collaborative development of a product - the world's largest encyclopedia. In the AEC industry, no such platform exists that can be used for collaborative development of a building project, and hence, information exchange between the parties involved, and modeling programs used in a project is slow and opaque. The platforms introduced in this paper allow for much greater transparency at all stages of the building design process, and hence improve the flow of information between parties involved in the process, both firm-internal and external. While traditionally, the use of a large number of different modeling and analysis platforms is hard to manage by a project team; this paper introduces methods that strengthen the design process by using a multitude of programs needed in the different building design phases.

최근 많은 건축가들이 파라메트릭 디자인 도구에 관심을 가지고 형태에 대한 다양한 실험을 하고 있는 것과는 달리, 구조 엔지니어들은 이에 적절하게 대응하지 못하고 있다. 현재 파라메트릭 모델과 구조해석 프로그램사이의 자료교환을 가능하게 하는 인터페이스가 없는 것이 주된 원인이다. 따라서 구조 엔지니어들도 자유롭게 파라메트릭 방법론의 장점을 활용한 모델을 생성하고, 그것을 구조해석에 바로 사용할 수 있도록 하는 일이 오늘날 구조계가 당면한 과제이다. 본 연구에서는 파라메트릭 모델로부터 구조해석 모델을 자동으로 생성하는 인터페이스의 실무 적용가능성을 살펴보기 위하여, 파라메트릭 디자인 도구의 특성과 확장성을 검토하고, 라이노를 기반으로 하는 구조해석 모델 생성 플러그인을 개발하였다.
