빈공간 교란과 샘플링 위치 정렬을 이용한 고화질 볼륨 가시화 (High Quality Volume Rendering Using the Empty Space Jittering and the Sampling Alignment Method)

  • 의료영상을 이용한 볼륨가시화를 수행할 때, 사용자가 관심있는 영역을 확대 관찰하는 일은 빈번하게 발생한다. 확대 영상에서 나뭇결 결함으로 불리는 문제가 발생하기 때문에, 기존 연구는 교란 샘플링을 이용하여 문제를 해결하였다. 그러나 교란 샘플링 방법은 관찰 영역 경계에서 잡음이 발생하는 문제가 있다. 본 연구는 교란 샘플링 시 경계에서 발생하는 잡음의 원인을 설명하고 그 해결 방법을 제시한다. 잡음 없이 나뭇결 결함을 제거하기 위해, 본 연구는 빈공간교란 기법과 샘플링 위치 정렬 기법을 제안한다. 제안 방법을 통해, 추가 시간 없이 고화질 볼륨가시화 영상을 생성할 수 있다.

Preparation of Yba2Cu3Ox Superconductor Prepared with Additives of PbO and Ag2O

  • The improvement of preparation process of ${YBa_2}{Cu_3}{O_x}$ superconductor and its conducting properties is important for practical applications. In this study, the additives such as $Ag_{2}O$ and PbO were used to improve the preparation conditions of ${YBa_2}{Cu_3}{O_x}$ superconducting bulk samples and the properties of ${YBa_2}{Cu_3}{O_x}$ superconductors prepared with powders using sol-gel method and solid state reaction method were studied. The effects of the different powders and the additives to the density, grain alignment, and porosity of samples, that affect the critical current density of superconductor, also have been investigated. It is found that the properties of ${YBa_2}{Cu_3}{O_x}$ prepared with sol-gel synthesized powder and the additives showed better superconductivities than those of conventionally prepared superconductors.

PHYSICAL CONDITIONS IN DARK INTERSTELLAR CLOUDS: MAGNETIC FIELD STRENGTH AND DENSITY

  • In order to know how the magnetic field increases with density in interstellar clouds, we have analyzed observations of extinction and polarization for stars in the ${\rho}$ Oph molecular cloud complex. The size of grains in dense parts of the complex is estimated to be larger than the ones in diffuse interstellar clouds by about 15 percent in radii. Employing the Davis-Greenstein mechanism for grain alignment with this estimated grain size, we have put constraints on the exponent in the field-density relation $B{\propto}n^x:1/5{\leq}x{\leq}1/3$. It is concluded that magnetic field in gravitationally contracting clouds increases less steeply than the classical expectation based on the approximation of isotropic contraction with complete frozen-in flux.

Anisortopy of the Silicon Nitride Prepared by Tape Casting

  • Silicon nitride ceramics with highly oriented microstructure were prepared by tape casting a slurry containing 5 wt% of the silicon nitride whiskers. The whiskers were aligned in the casting direction and worked as seeds for the grain growth. The anisotropy was observed from the sintering shrinkage, Vickers indentation crack lengths, and XRD patterns. The cracks were much longer on the surface normal to the aligned grains than on the tape casting surface where the lateral cracks were also observed. The effect of sintering additives and the annealing treatment on the indentation crack length was examined. The sample with higher silica content had longer cracks than the one with lower silica content. The crack length anisotropy increased after annealing at 2123K.

Enhanced Densification in Tl-1223/Ag Tapes Prepared Using Pretreated Precursors

  • The effects of reacted precursors on phase evolution, microstructure, $J_{c}$ and junctional characteristic of the inter-granular contacts were investigated in Ag-sheathed T1-1223 tapes prepared using three kinds of reacted precursors, and compared to those in the tape prepared using an unreacted precursor The precursors were prepared by heat-treating a mixture of Sr-Ba-Ca-Cu-O, $Tl_2$$O_3$, PbO and $Bi_2$$O_3$ powders at $805^{\circ}C$ (precursor I ), $840^{\circ}C$ (precursor II ) and $905^{\circ}C$(precursor III) for 20 min. Tl-1223 phase content, grain size and J\ulcorner in the tapes appeared to increase in an order of precursors I, II and III Compared to tapes prepared using an unreacted precursor, the tapes prewar ed using precursors II and III revealed reduced pore and impurity densities and an enhanced texture. Also characteristic of inter -granular contacts and fraction of strong-links were improved. The improved properties are attributed to enhanced densification resulting from using the reacted precursors.s.

Sinter forging으로 제조한 Y-BA-Cu-O/Ag 고온 초전도 복합체의 미세조직과 특성 (A Study on the Microstructure and Properties of Y-BA-Cu-O/Ag composite High $T_{c}$ Superconductor prepared by Sinter-forging Process)

  • Y-BA-Cu-O계 고온초전도체의 미세조직을 가공과 열처리로써 제어하여 조직의 배향화와 치밀화를 기하여 높은 임계전류밀도($J_c$)를 갖는 초전도체의 개발을 목적으로sinter forging법으로 Y-BA-Cu-O/Ag 고온초전도복합체를 제조하였다. sinter forging을 통하여 고온 초전도체의 미세조직의 texture화를 가져왔으며, 이 경우 (123)결정립의 C축 방위가 단일축의 압축방향으로 배향화 되었다. 한편, texture의 orientation facter는 고온일수록, 압력이 클수록 크고, 조직의 배향화도 뚜렷하였으며 그에 따라 $J_c$역시 증가하였다. 이러한 결과로 미루어 결정의 배향도는 $J_c$를 좌우하는 중요한 변수라고 사려되었다. 또한 sinter forging 시킨Y-MA-Cu-O/Ag 복합체의 on set온도는 sinter forging온도에 크게 의존치 않았으나, 고온일수록 off set 온도($T_c\;^{zero}$)가 다소 떨어졌다. 한편, 첨가된 Ag는 주고(123)결정입계에 존재하였으며, 이들이 (123)결정립간의 결합을 촉진시켜 임계전류밀도를 크게 향상시켰으며, Y-BA-Cu-O/Ag 복합체의 $J_c$는 2,000 A/$\textrm{cm}^2$ 이상이었다.

배향화된 금속기관에서 산화물막의 제조와 분석 (Fabrication and characterization of metal oxide films on textured metal substrates)

  • Recently, metal oxide films such as MgO or ZrO$_2$ have been studied as buffer layers to fabricate the superconductor with preferred orientation and as diffusion barriers to prevent the reaction between superconductor and metal substrate. In this research, we focused fabrication and characterization of MgO and ZrO$_2$ films on textured metal substrates. We fabricated MgO and ZrO$_2$ films on the Ni metal sheets by sol-gel dipping method. The microstrcures of the films were investigated by SEM and AES analyses. The films were coated with different cycles and dryed at 400$^{\circ}$C and 500$^{\circ}$C . The final films were heat-treated at 700$^{\circ}$C, 800$^{\circ}$C, and 1000$^{\circ}$C, in air atmosphere. We investigated the alignment of MgO and ZrO$_2$ films on Ni metal sheets by XRD and pole figure. The grain growth of metal oxide films was improved by the increase of the drying temperature and annealing temperature. The grain growth was increased with the annealing temperature. The alignment of metal oxide films depended on the thickness.

Nd-Fe-B계 소결자석의 이방화율 향상을 위한 연구 (A Study for Magnetic Orientation Enhancement in Nd-Fe-B Sintered Magnets)

  • Axial pressing process를 이용하여 31RE-68TM-1B(RE : 희토류원소, TM: 3d천이금속) 조성을 갖는 소결자석을 제조함에 있어서 Casting process와 Lubricant 변화에 따른 잔류자속밀도 변화를 조사하였다. 출발합금 제조방법으로서 Strip casting process는 $\alpha$-Fe 편석없이 미세하고, 균일한 microstructure를 얻기에 용이한 잇점이 있었으며, Jet mill 이후 균일한 입도의 분말을 얻을 수 있었다. 또한, Jet mill 전후에 적절한 분말 혹은 무수알콜과 같은 Lubricant를 첨가함으로써 잔류자속밀도를 향상시킬 수 있었다. 본 실험에서는 Strip casting 및 분말 Lubrican인 Zn-st(Zinc stearate)에 첨가에 의한 분말입도분포 개선효과와 무수알콜에 의한 배향율 향상효과를 접목하여 잔류자속밀도, 보자력 및 최대자기에너지적이 각각 13.1 kG, 13.5 kOe 및 39.5 MGOe인 경자기특성이 얻어졌다.

압영제조된 $Tl_{0.8}$$Pb_{0.2}$$Bi_{0.2}$$Sr_{1.8}$$Ba_{0.2}$$Ca_{2.2}$$Cu_{3}$$O_{x}$/Ag 선재에서의 높은 $J_{c}$ (High $J_{c}$'s in just-rolled $Tl_{0.8}$$Pb_{0.2}$$Bi_{0.2}$$Sr_{1.8}$$Ba_{0.2}$$Ca_{2.2}$$Cu_{3}$$O_{x}$/Ag tapes)

  • The grain morphology, the changes in morphology and Jc with the thermo-mechanical treatment (TMT) history, the field dependence of Jc and the nature of intergranular bonding were studied in $T_{10.8}$$Pb_{.2}$$Bi_{0.2}$$Sr_{1.8}$$Ba_{0.2}$$Ca_{2.2}$$Cu_{3}$$O_{z}$/Ag tapes. As a result, incorporation of intermediate rolling during the final heat-treatment resulted in of plate-like TI-1223 grains, and thus enhanced Jc. Jc's near 2.5$\times$104 A/cm2 at 77 K and 0 T were obtained in just rolled tapes with an excellent reproducibility. The high Jc's seem to grain-connectivity easy recovery of excellent grain-connectivity during final heat-treatment after inter -mediate rolling, probably due to retarded T1 evaporation and excessive Ca content in the present composition. The strong field dependence of Jc even in low fields, however, indicated that there still existed significant weak-links and the degree of directional grain-alignment was far from the desired one. The intergranular binding in the tapes seemed to be mainly dominated by SIS junctions.
