친환경 무농약 재배와 관행 재배 쌀의 특성비교 (Comparison of Rice Properties Between Rice Grown Under Conventional Farming and One Grown Under Eco-Friendly Farming Using Hairy Vetch)

  • 일반 멥쌀인 동진1호 품종으로 녹비작물인 헤어리베치를 이용하여 친환경 무농약 재배와 관행 재배한 쌀로 현미와 백미로 도정하여 수분흡수력, 이화학적 특성과 호화특성 및 밥의 관능평가를 실시한 결과 다음과 같다. 쌀알의 수분흡수력은 친환경 재배 쌀이 도정에 관계없이 모두 높았으며 단백질과 식이섬유는 친환경재배 쌀이 회분과 지방질은 관행재배 쌀이 더 높았고 현미가 백미보다 높았다. 총 전분함량, 물결합능력, 팽윤력은 백미가 현미에 비해 높았으며 재배방법에 따른 차이는 거의 없었다. DPPH에 의한 항산화 활성은 친환경재배 현미가 가장 높고 친환경 백미 관행재배 쌀순이었다. 쌀가루 호화액의 초기 호화온도는 현미보다는 백미, 관행재배보다는 친환경재배 쌀이 더 낮았고 피크 점도는 반대 경향을 보여 친환경재배 백미가 가장 높은 점도를 나타냈다. 밥의 관능평가 결과 관행재배와 친환경재배 모두 차이조사와 기호조사에서 유의적인 차이를 보이지 않았다(p<0.05). 이로부터 친환경재배 쌀의 가공적성이 더 좋은 가능성을 보이는 것으로 추정되며 밥을 지었을 때는 두 재배방법간 차이가 거의 없음을 알 수 있었다.

황해 남동부 니질대의 물리적 성질: 동해 및 남해 니질대와의 비교 (Physical properties of Southeastern Yellow Sea Mud (SEYSM): Comparison with the East Sea and the South Sea mudbelts of Korea)

  • 황해 남동부 니질대(mudbelt)퇴적물의 물리적 성질을 연구하기 위하여 총 10개 정점에서 해저 퇴적물을 채취하였다. 그 자료는 동해(남동 내대륙붕)및 남해니질대 자료와 비교하였다. 시추퇴적물들의 대부분은 실트질이 우세하며, 그 외 사질니 및 니로 구성되어 있다. 연구지역 표층퇴적물은 주로 금강에서 유입된 세립질 퇴적물이 연안류에 의해 남쪽으로 이동하여 분급화되면서 평균입도, 속도 및 습윤전밀도값은 점진적으로 감소하고 공극율은 증가하는 경향을 잘 보인다. 평균입도가 물성 및 음파전달속도를 결정하는데 주요한 변수로 나타났고, 수직적인 변화도 다져 짐작용이나 고화작용에 의한 영향보다는 퇴적물 조직 (주로 실트함량)의 변화 경향을 잘 반영하는 것으로 나타났다. 조직 및 물성간의 상관관계를 보면 비교모델로 사용한 남해 및 동해역 퇴적물과 가벼운 편차는 있으나 전반적인 경향은 유사하다 다만 가벼운 편차가 나타나는 것은 실트함량의 차이, 퇴적환경, 광물조성의 차이 및 가스의 함량 등 복합적인 결과로 보인다.

단순회귀분석에 의한 토층의 투수계수산정모델 제안 (Proposal for the Estimation Model of Coefficient of Permeability of Soil Layer using Linear Regression Analysis)

  • 이 연구는 토질특성을 평가하는 주요 영향인자인 투수계수를 몇 가지 토질물성만으로 쉽게 산정할 수 있도록 단순회귀 분석을 이용하여 투수계수산정모델을 개발하였다. 이를 위한 연구지역은 강원도 평창군 진부면지역으로 총 45개 지점에서 토층시료를 채취하여 실내에서 여러 토질시험을 실시하였다. 상관분석을 통해 시험결과들 중 투수계수에 유효한 토질인자를 선별한 후 선별된 인자들과 직접투수시험에 의한 투수계수간의 관계를 단순회귀분석으로 공식화한 투수계수산정모델을 개발하였다. 또한, 개발된 투수계수산정모델과 직접투수시험 및 각 경험식들에 의한 투수계수를 비교 분석하여 모델의 적합성을 검증하였다. SPSS(statistical package for the social sciences)를 이용하여 여러 토질물성과 투수계수간의 상관관계를 분석한 결과 유효경, 간극비, 건조단위중량이 투수계수에 가장 크게 영향을 미치는 토질인자인 것으로 나타났다. 투수계수 산정모델에 의한 투수계수는 직접투수시험에 의한 투수계수와 거의 유사한 결과를 보였다. 따라서 개발된 투수계수산정모델은 연구지역과 같은 토질조건인 경우 토층의 투수계수 산정을 위한 모델로 이용이 가능할 것으로 사료된다.

Cholesterol Contents and Fatty Acid Composition of Chukar, Pheasant, Guinea Fowl and Quail Egg Yolk

  • Little information on the cholesterol content and the fatty acid composition of avian species other than chicken is available. This study was conducted to compare the yolk cholesterol content and the fatty acid profiles of some wild birds maintained in captivity on commercial grain-based chicken diets. The concentration of cholesterol/g of yolk as well as the total yolk cholesterol per egg varied among species. Yolk cholesterol concentration, expressed as mg/g of yolk, was highest in chukar, followed by pheasant, guinea fowl and quail, while total yolk cholesterol in an egg was highest in guinea fowl, followed by pheasant, chuckar and quail. An inverse relationship between yolk cholesterol concentration and egg weight was observed among species with an exception of quail. Although major fatty acids of egg yolk were oleic acid, palmitic acid, linoleic acid and stearic acid in all birds, the composition varied among species. Chukar and quail showed higher oleic acid content than pheasant and guinea fowl, while showing lower linoleic acid. Fatty acids of chukar and guinea fowl eggs were more saturated than those of pheasant and quail. Chukar and especially quail had higher monounsaturated fatty acids (MUFA) than pheasant and guinea fowl; in quail egg 51.6% of total fatty acids were MUFA. Polyunsaturated fatty acids (PUFA), essential fatty acids (EFA) and the ratio of PUFA to saturated fatty acid (P/S ratio) were higher in pheasant and guinea fowl than in chukar and quail. Differences in fatty acid profile of triglyceride (TG) among birds were largely similar to those of total lipid. In comparison to TG, phosphatidyl choline (PC) was low in MUFA while high in saturated fatty acids (SFA), PUFA, P/S ratio and EFA. PC was most saturated in guinea fowl egg yolk, followed by chukar, quail and pheasant. PUFA, P/S ratio and EFA in PC were highest in pheasant followed by chukar, guinea fowl and quail. PE was distinguished from PC by its high contents of stearic acid, eicosapentenoic acid (EPA) and docosahexenoic acid (DHA) while low in palmitic, oleic and linoleic acids. In egg yolk of all birds MUFA was significantly lower in PE than in PC except in quail. Compared to other species, quail had a considerably higher content of MUFA in PE at the expense of SFA and PUFA.

  • Development process of agricultural technology has been studied with a case study of Korean agriculture. Technological is considered as a transformer of inputs into outputs and hence technological appropriateness, an important aspect of agricultural development strategies, is considered as a dynamic concepts. Considering the concept of agricultural system as a delivery system for providing essential materials and services to producers and consumers, it has been divided into two major groups of dimensions vis. external challenge dimensions and internal response dimensions. Market, investment and agro-ecosystem constitute the external challenge dimensions : whereas trade , technology as well as production and resources allocation constitute internal response dimensions. The system manager is responsible for maintaining equilibrium in the mentioned six sub-systems. Two kinds of alternatives paths of technological development viz. land saving technology and labour saving technolog have been studied. Technology is considered as a combination of four basic components viz. facilities, abilities, facts and frameworks. Adoption of innovation in agriculture depends on profitability, awareness, risk aversion, financial capacity, institutional infrastructure, availability of physical inputs and adaptability to the local conditions. For a cast study of Korea, changes in the agricultural system through external challenge dimensions are investigated. The impacts of industrialization on agro-ecosystem reported are shift of labour from the agricultural sector to non-agricultural sectors and continuously increasing demand of farm the agricultural sector to non-agricultural sectors accompanied by increase in land prices. The impacts on the commodity market discussed are shift in demand from rice, barley and other cereals to meat , dairy products and vegetables : and increasing in supply capacity of agricultural inputs. The process of agricultural development from 1962 to 19 1 9 (i.e. from start of the first to the end of the sixth five year plan) are also discussed in details with several policy measures taken. The trend of agricultural income and productivity are also analyzed. The main cause of increase in the agricultural income is considered as increase in labour productivity. The study revealed that during the span of 1965-88, holding size has not changed significantly, but both the land and labour productivity increased and so did the agricultural income. R&D activities in Korea have changed over time in three stages vix. import of improved technology, localization by adaptive research and technological mastery. For the new technology to be made affordable to farmers, policy measures like fertilizer and food grain exchange system, dual price system in rice and barely and loan for machinery were strengthened.

High Strength Nanostructured Metastable Alloys

  • Nanostructured high strength metastable Al-, Mg- and Ti-based alloys containing different amorphous, quasicrystalline and nanocrystalline phases are synthesized by non-equilibrium processing techniques. Such alloys can be prepared by quenching from the melt or by powder metallurgy techniques. This paper focuses on one hand on mechanically alloyed and ball milled powders containing different volume fractions of amorphous or nano-(quasi)crystalline phases, consolidated bulk specimens and, on the other hand. on cast specimens containing different constituent phases with different length-scale. As one example. $Mg_{55}Y_{15}Cu_{30}$- based metallic glass matrix composites are produced by mechanical alloying of elemental powder mixtures containing up to 30 vol.% $Y_2O_3$ particles. The comparison with the particle-free metallic glass reveals that the nanosized second phase oxide particles do not significantly affect the glass-forming ability upon mechanical alloying despite some limited particle dissolution. A supercooled liquid region with an extension of about 50 K can be maintained in the presence of the oxides. The distinct viscosity decrease in the supercooled liquid regime allows to consolidate the powders into bulk samples by uniaxial hot pressing. The $Y_2O_3$ additions increase the mechanical strength of the composites compared to the $Mg_{55}Y_{15}Cu_{30}$ metallic glass. The second example deals with Al-Mn-Ce and Al-Cu-Fe composites with quasicrystalline particles as reinforcements, which are prepared by quenching from the melt and by powder metallurgy. $Al_{98-x}Mn_xCe_2$ (x =5,6,7) melt-spun ribbons containing a major quasicrystalline phase coexisting with an Al-matrix on a nanometer scale are pulverized by ball milling. The powders are consolidated by hot extrusion. Grain growth during consolidation causes the formation of a micrometer-scale microstructure. Mechanical alloying of $Al_{63}Cu_{25}Fe_{12}$ leads to single-phase quasicrystalline powders. which are blended with different volume fractions of pure Al-powder and hot extruded forming $Al_{100-x}$$(Al_{0.63}Cu_{0.25}Fe_{0.12})_x$ (x = 40,50,60,80) micrometer-scale composites. Compression test data reveal a high yield strength of ${\sigma}_y{\geq}$700 MPa and a ductility of ${\varepsilon}_{pl}{\geq}$5% for than the Al-Mn-Ce bulk samples. The strength level of the Al-Cu-Fe alloys is ${\sigma}_y{\leq}$550 MPa significantly lower. By the addition of different amounts of aluminum, the mechanical properties can be tuned to a wide range. Finally, a bulk metallic glass-forming Ti-Cu-Ni-Sn alloy with in situ formed composite microstructure prepared by both centrifugal and injection casting presents more than 6% plastic strain under compressive stress at room temperature. The in situ formed composite contains dendritic hcp Ti solid solution precipitates and a few $Ti_3Sn,\;{\beta}$-(Cu, Sn) grains dispersed in a glassy matrix. The composite micro- structure can avoid the development of the highly localized shear bands typical for the room temperature defor-mation of monolithic glasses. Instead, widely developed shear bands with evident protuberance are observed. resulting in significant yielding and homogeneous plastic deformation over the entire sample.

Bacillus subtilis var. globigii 종균접종 메주로 제조한 콩 품종별 간장의 품질 특성 (Quality Characteristics of Kanjang Prepared with Meju Cultivated on Different Soybean Cultivars with Bacillus subtilis var. globigii Seed Culture)

  • 태광콩, 검정콩1호, 신팔달콩2호, 황금콩, 단백콩, 단엽콩을 공시재료로 하고 Bacillus subtilis var. globigii를 메주제조용 균주로 사용하여 간장을 제조하고 그 성분 특성을 조사하였다. 원료 콩의 조단백질 함량은 단백콩이 47.5%로 가장 높았으며, 유리당 함량은 검정콩1호와 단백콩이 각각 15.87%, 13.33%로 가장 높았다. Bacillus subtilis var. globigii 종균을 접종하여 만든 메주로 제조한 간장의 총질소함량은 단백콩으로 제조한 간장에서 1.18%로 가장 높았으며, 간장의 유리당과 유기산 함량은 콩 품종간에 큰 차이를 보이지 않았으며 succinic acid가 주된 유기산임을 보여주었다. 단백콩 간장의 총 유리아미노산과 glutamic acid 함량도 각각 3365 mg%와 737.44 mg%로 가장 높았다. 원료콩의 단백질 함량이 가장 높은 단백콩이 간장의 총 유리아미노산, glutamic acid 함량 및 총 아미노산에 대한 glutamic acid의 비율이 가장 높아서 간장용 콩 품종으로 가장 적합한 것으로 나타났다.

12~36개월 유아의 식사 질 평가 (The Assessment of Dietary Quality in Toddler of 12-36 Months)

  • This research was conducted to evaluate the general dietary quality(the balance and diversity of food intake, nutrient intake and adequacy) of 12 to 36-month-old toddler, through examining their actual food intake. It was conducted for 664(male-357, female-307) healthy toddler who were outpatients from Mar. to Aug., 1999 at university hospitals and private hospitals in Seoul and kyunggi province. The anthropometric parameters were measured. The 24-hr recall method were utilized to analyze the nutrient intake by months, based on the classification of The Korea Child Gorwth Standard. As for the subjects of this research, we found that the younger the age, the more frequent the pattern of intake of only 3 kinds of food groups. The results are that 1) the group with 1 point of the DDS(Dietary Diversity Score) mostly took only foods from the milk group, 2) the group with 2 points only took foods from the grain and milk group, 3) the group with 3 points did not take foods from the fruit and vegetable group, and 4) the group with 4 points took just about all kinds of food groups except for the vegetable group. This means that most of them were not taking various kinds of food even after the age of 12 months, and that they took more than twice the recommended amount of foods from the milk group until the age of 20 months. Thus, one could find a tendency of dependance on the milk group for food intake. Food intake for the vegetable group was severely under the recommended allowance, regardless of the age. The intake of iron was less than two thirds of the recommended allowance, except for the group of 12 to 14-month-olds who had been fed with infant formula. The Nutrient Adequacy Ratio(NAR) of major nutrients(protein, calcium, phosphorous, iron, vitamin A, vitamin B$_1$, vitamin B$_2$, niacin, vitamin C) and the Mean Adequacy Ratio(MAR, shows the general quality of dietary intake) was 0.86$\pm$0.12, but the NAR of iron was 0.62$\pm$0.27, which was extremely low compared to those of other nutrients. Therefore, concerning the subjects of this research, the MAR value alone does not provide enough ground to conclude that the subjects dietary quality is satisfactory. RF 마그네트론 스퍼터로 증착된 In2O3 박막의 질소분위기 열처리에 따른 특성변화 (Effect of Annealing in a Nitrogen Atmosphere on the Properties of In2O3 Films Deposited with RF Magnetron Sputtering)

  • $In_2O_3$ films were deposited by RF magnetron sputtering on a glass substrate and then the effect of post deposition annealing in nitrogen atmosphere on the structural, optical and electrical properties of the films was investigated. After deposition, the annealing process was conducted for 30 minutes at 200 and $400^{\circ}C$. XRD pattern analysis showed that the as deposited films were amorphous. When the annealing temperature reached 200-$400^{\circ}C$, the intensities of the $In_2O_3$ (222) major peak increased and the full width at half maximum (FWHM) of the $In_2O_3$ (222) peak decreased due to the crystallization. The films annealed at $400^{\circ}C$ showed a grain size of 28 nm, which was larger than that of the as deposited amorphous films. The optical transmittance in the visible wavelength region also increased, while the electrical sheet resistance decreased. In this study, the films annealed at $400^{\circ}C$ showed the highest optical transmittance of 76% and also showed the lowest sheet resistance of $89{\Omega}/\Box$. The figure of merit reached a maximum of $7.2{\times}10^{-4}{\Omega}^{-1}$ for the films annealed at $400^{\circ}C$. The effect of the annealing on the work-function of $In_2O_3$ films was considered. The work-function obtained from annealed films at $400^{\circ}C$ was 7.0eV. Thus, the annealed $In_2O_3$ films are an alternative to ITO films for use as transparent anodes in OLEDs.

  • 카드늄에 의해 오염된 토양을 접하는 것은 급격한 산업발달에 의해 아시아에서는 흔한 일이다. 그래서 시민과 관련 당국은 식량작물 소비에 따른 카드늄노출의 위험성에대한 관심을 가지고 있다. 본 개관에서는 전세계 카드늄 소화기관내 흡입과 식품에 근거한 식물에 포함된 카드늄농도에 대한 최근 자료가 모두 제시 되었다. 일반적으로 일용필수품에 근거한 주요 식물에 존재하는 카드늄의 농도는 생체중으로 비교 시 kg 당 0.05mg를 거의 초과하지 않으며 곡류, 두류, 채소, 구근류, 과채류 순으로 감소하였다.
