  • The genus Chrysaster Kumata is one of the members in Lithocolletinae of Gracillariidae (Lepidoptera: Gracillarioidea). Chrysaster hagicola Kumata, 1961 has been the only known species of the genus in Korea so far. In this study, we report another species, Chrysaster ostensackenella (Fitch, 1859) for the first time from Korea. The samples of C. ostensackenella were collected as larvae and adults on Robinia pseudoacacia L. (Fabales: Fabaceae). Diagnostic characteristics with a brief description are given, as well as, photographs of adults and genitalia of both sexes are provided. A further study on C. ostensackenella is strongly recommended, especially for the business of honey, as this species is recently known to be a serious pest on acacias (black locust) in China.

  • The genus Parornix Spuler, 1910 is a small group within the subfamily Parornichinae belonging to the family Gracillariidae in Korea. The subfamily Parornichinae was recently established as a taxonomic category by Kawahara & Ohshima, 2017, based on the largest dataset in a phylogenetic study. In this study, we reviewed the Korean species of the genus Parornix. In total, 5 species were recognized from Korea. Among them, one species, Parornix loganella (Stainton, 1848) is recorded for the first time from Korea. Descriptions and illustrations of the adults and genitalia of them are provided herein.

  • The family Gracillariidae, belonging to the superfamily Gracillarioidea, is one of the major group of leaf-miners. Among them, the genus Telamoptilia Kumata & Kuroko, 1988 has been known as a small genus with only nine described species over worldwide to date. In this study, the genus Telamoptilia Kumata & Kuroko, 1988, is reported for the first time from Korea. In addition, two species of the genus Telamoptilia, T. grewiae Liu, Wang & Li, 2015 and T. tiliae Kumata & Ermolaev, 1988, are newly recorded in Korea. All the known species are enumerated with their available information. The adults and genitalia of all species are redescribed and illustrated.

  • The citrus leafminer (CLM), Phyllocnistis citrella Stainton, is an oligophagous pest of Rutaceae family, especially Citrus spp. occurring in most worldwide citrus-growing areas. This study was conducted to evaluate a sex pheromone chemical of CLM, (Z,Z)-7,11-hexadecadienal (7Z,11Z-16:Al) in monitoring CLM by trap types, the diel activity and the influence of some weather factors on trap catch. CLM was well attracted on a trap baited 7Z,11Z-16:Al 1mg. Sticky wing trap was more effective than bucket trap. Most caught CLM were attracted at 2$\sim$6 a.m. regardless of season, and activity time of CLM was affected by sunrise time as well as sunset time. The trap catch of CLM was more influenced by wind velocity than temperature for activity time of CLM. The number of caught CLM was fallen at below 13$^{\circ}C$, but there was little effect for trap catch at over that temperature. The average wind velocity at over 2.0 m/sec made the number of caught CLM drop down. The precipitation did not affect the number of caught CLM when the average wind velocity was lower than at 2.0 m/sec.
