In this study, we analyzed the accuracy of the conversion from DLT parameters to physical camera parameters and optimized the use of DLT model for non-metric cameras in photogrammetric tasks. Using the simulated data, we computed two sets of physical camera parameters from DLT parameters and Bundle adjustment for various cases. Comparing two results based on the RMSE values of check points, we optimized the arrangement of GCPs for DLT.

For the performance experiments of databases systems with moving object databases, we need moving object trajectory data sets. For example, benchmark data sets of moving object trajectories are required for experiments on query processing of moving object databases. For those reasons, several tools have been developed for generating moving objects in Euclidean spaces or road network spaces. Indoor space differs from outdoor spaces in many aspects and moving object generator for indoor space should reflect these differences. Even some tools were developed to produce virtual moving object trajectories in indoor space, the movements generated by them are not realistic. In this paper, we present a moving object generation tool for indoor space. First, this tool generates trajectories for pedestrians in an indoor space. And it provides a parametric generation of trajectories considering not only speed, number of pedestrians, minimum distance between pedestrians but also type of spaces, time constraints, and type of pedestrians. We try to reflect the patterns of pedestrians in indoor space as realistic as possible. For the reason of interoperability, several geospatial standards are used in the development of the tool.

This Paper describes a new program called DEM Generator need to process DEM from LiDAR data or digital map data. It is difficult to generate raster DEM from LiDAR mass point data sets and digital maps too large to fit into memory. The DEM Generator was designed to process DEM and shaded relief image of GeoTiff format in order of streaming meshes; I/O minimize tag, delaunay triangle, natural neighborhood or TIN, temporary files and grid. It is expected that we can be improved the precision of DEM and solved the time consuming problem of DEM generating of a wider area.

The goal of this study is to evaluate the KLT(Kanade-Lucas-Tomasi) for extracting and tracking the features using various data acquired from UAV. Sequences of images were collected for Jangsu-Gun area to perform the analysis. Four data sets were subjected to extract and track the features using the parameters of the KLT. From the results of the experiment, more than 90 percent of the features extracted from the first frame could successfully track through the next frame when the shift between frames is small. But when the frame to frame motion is large in non-consecutive frames, KLT tracker is failed to track the corresponding points. Future research will be focused on feature tracking of sequence frames with large shift and rotation.

GPS has been increasingly used in high precision positioning thanks to rapid advances of GPS technology. In order to acquire precise coordinates from GPS, it is important to solve accurately integer ambiguity inherent in GPS signals. The previous methods to solve this ambiguity were mostly based on multi-epoch data but recently a method based on single-epoch data has been developed. In this study, we selected three sets of software based on these methods, applied them to GPS baseline processing, and analyzed the experimental results. From these analyses, we have also verified the potential of their uses in real time precision positioning.

In this paper, we proposed an automated areal feature matching method based on geometric similarity without user intervention and is applied into areal features of many-to-many relation, for confusion of spatial data-sets of different scale and updating cycle. Firstly, areal feature(node) that a value of inclusion function is more than 0.4 was connected as an edge in adjacency matrix and candidate corresponding areal features included many-to-many relation was identified by multiplication of adjacency matrix. For geometrical matching, these multiple candidates corresponding areal features were transformed into an aggregated polygon as a convex hull generated by a curve-fitting algorithm. Secondly, we defined matching criteria to measure geometrical quality, and these criteria were changed into normalized values, similarity, by similarity function. Next, shape similarity is defined as a weighted linear combination of these similarities and weights which are calculated by Criteria Importance Through Intercriteria Correlation(CRITIC) method. Finally, in training data, we identified Equal Error Rate(EER) which is trade-off value in a plot of precision versus recall for all threshold values(PR curve) as a threshold and decided if these candidate pairs are corresponding pairs or not. To the result of applying the proposed method in a digital topographic map and a base map of address system(KAIS), we confirmed that some many-to-many areal features were mis-detected in visual evaluation and precision, recall and F-Measure was highly 0.951, 0.906, 0.928, respectively in statistical evaluation. These means that accuracy of the automated matching between different spatial data-sets by the proposed method is highly. However, we should do a research on an inclusion function and a detail matching criterion to exactly quantify many-to-many areal features in future.
The objectives of this paper are to measure surface imperviousness using three different classification methods: per-pixel, sub-pixel, and object-oriented classification. They are tested on high-spatial resolution QuickBird data at 2.4 meters (four spectral bands and three principal component bands) as well as a medium-spatial resolution Landsat TM image at 30 meters. To measure impervious surfaces, we selected 30 sample sites with different land uses and residential densities across image representing the city of Phoenix, Arizona, USA. For per-pixel an unsupervised classification is first conducted to provide prior knowledge on the possible candidate spectral classes, and then a supervised classification is performed using the maximum-likelihood rule. For sub-pixel classification, a Linear Spectral Mixture Analysis (LSMA) is used to disentangle land cover information from mixed pixels. For object-oriented classification several different sets of scale parameters and expert decision rules are implemented, including a nearest neighbor classifier. The results from these three methods show that the object-oriented approach (accuracy of 91%) provides more accurate results than those achieved by per-pixel algorithm (accuracy of 67% and 83% using Landsat TM and QuickBird, respectively). It is also clear that sub-pixel algorithm gives more accurate results (accuracy of 87%) in case of intensive and dense urban areas using medium-resolution imagery.
The purpose of this study develops the methodology to extract the poor deprived districts using the data from the national spatial data infrastructure portal. Particularly this study tries to select more acute indicators and to test the operability of such indicators. Also this study is focused on the versatile methodology that can be adjusted to incorporate alternative indicators that might be appropriate according to the hierarchy of the spatial unit. The indicator sets are composed of three dimensions: the poor class, the poor old housing, and poor residential neighborhood environment. Each representative indicator is selected based on the characteristics of the poor deprived districts. As a result, at the level of administrative Dong, key indicators for extracting the poor deprived districts are number of recipients of national basic living security per thousand persons and ratio of households living at old detached house. At the level of the national based zip code district, the ratio of buildings built on parcels located at roads below 4m in width, the ratio of small parcels below $60m^2$ and the ratio of poor old buildings are very important indicators. The result of grid analysis by overlaying the coverage of multiple indicators shows that relatively more vulnerable and deprived districts can be extracted at the small sub-district level. This study suggests the possibility to create the high value-added information, using the data from the national spatial data infrastructure portal. This methodology enables policymakers to select the priority target districts of poor deprived district more effectively.

Although many studies have been conducted to extract buildings from airborne lidar data, most of them assume that all the boundaries of a building are straight line segments. This makes it difficult to model building boundaries containing curved segments correctly. This paper aims to model buildings containing curved segments as combination of straight lines and arcs. First, two sets of boundary points are extracted by adaptive convex hull algorithm and local convex hull algorithm with a larger radius. Then, arc segments are determined by average spacing of boundary points and intersection ratio of perpendicular lines. Finally, building boundary is modeled through regularization of least squares line or circle fitting. The experimental results showed that the proposed method can model the curved building boundaries as arc segments correctly by completeness of 69% and correctness of 100%. The approach will be utilized effectively to create automatically digital map that meets the conditions of the Korean digital mapping.
The purpose of this study is to analyze the spatial relationship between the landslides occurred by typhoon, Rusa in 2002 and geospatial dataset. Landslide locations were detected using satellite image and field survey. Topogra-phy, soil, forest, geology and land use data sets were constructed as a spatial database in GIS. From the database, slope, aspect, curvature, water system, type of topography, texture, material, drainage, effective thickness of soil, type, age, diameter, density of wood, lithology, lineament of geology, land use and lineament were used as the land-slide occurrence factors. Using a frequence ratio model, the spatial relationships between the landslides and the factors were extracted. The spatial relationships is helpful to explain the characteristics of the landslide, and to make landslide susceptibility map.
