In this study, datum points measurement have been collected and then weather data have been analyzed to figure out erosion and deposition environmental change around Halmi-island, Baramarae. First of all, it was difficult to analyze geomorphological change which is caused by climate change because of quite short term of collection period of data. However, differences in spatial distribution of erosion and deposition have locally been shown. In all season, the wind is blowing in north and north-west direction mostly except in summer which is shifted to south direction. However, since its ratio which are above 5m/s is much lower than the north and north-west wind, its effect on geomorphological process is very tiny. In order to look at a tendency of erosion and deposition environmental change around Baramarae Halmi-island, the periphery of Halmi-island was classified to east and west part, then accumulated erosion and deposition values have been calculated. As a result, generally, the datum points are located in the west part which are mostly depositional sites. On the other hand, the datum points are located in east part showed the dominant erosion patterns.

The main objective of this paper is to classify properties of the locational environment for each debris type by calculating likelihood ratio based on the correlation between the distributions for each type of debris landform. A total of 8 thematic maps, like as elevation, slope, aspect, curvature, topographic wetness index (TWI), soil drainage, geology, and landcover including with GIS spatial information generally used in this type of debris landform analysis. The results of this study showed that the block stream had a high likelihood ratio compared to talus in areas with relatively high elevation; and concerning slope, the block stream had a high likelihood ratio in a relatively low region than talus. Concerning aspect, a clear correlation could not be analyzed for each debristype, and concerning curvature, the block stream displayed a developed slope on the more concave valley than the talus. Analysis concerning TWI, the block stream displayed a higher likelihood ratio in wider sections than talus, and concerning soil drainage, the talus and block stream both displayed a high likelihood ratio in regions with well-drained soil. The talus displayed a high likelihood ratio in the order of metamorphic rocks, sedimentary rocks, and granite, while the block stream displayed a high likelihood ratio in the order of volcanic rocks, granite, and sedimentary rocks. In addition, concerning landcover, the likelihood ratio had the most concentrated distributed compared to natural bare land only concerning talus. Based on the likelihood ratio result, it can be used as basic data for extracting the possible areas of distribution for each debris type through the GIS spatial integration method.

Rainfall-runoff characteristics are analysed based on the geomorphological instantaneous unit hydrograph(GIUH) derived by geomorphological parameters using geographical information system in watershed ungaged or deficient of field data. Observed data of Seom river experiment watershed at upstream of Hoengseong dam and variable slope method for hydrograph separating of direct non are used. The 4th stream order of Seom river experimental watershed is developed with a regular correlation referred to the Horton-Strahler's law of stream order. The characteristic velocity to determine shape parameter of GIUH is 1.0m/s and its equation is modified for accurate results. Hydrograph at the outlet of 4th stream order of Maeil gage station and at the outlets of 3rd stream order of Sogun and Nonggeori gage stations show a little differences in falling limb of hydrograph but agree well to the observed data in general. The results by hydrological routing with HEC-HMS to the outlet of 4th stream order of Maeil gage station which the hydrograph by GIUH obtained at Sogun and Nonggeori gage stations of 3rd stream oder are applied as upstream inputs give better agreement with observed data than those by hydrograph by GIUH obtained at Maeil gage station of 4th stream order. In general, the rainfall-runoff by GIUH has applicability to the watershed routing of ungaged project regions.

Reducing the range of target landform, is required to save the time and cost before real field survey in the case of inaccessible landform such as talus. In this study, Weight of Evidence modeling, which is a Target-driven spatial analysis statistics methods, has been applied to reduce the field survey range of target landform. In order to apply the Weight of Evidence analysis, a likelihood ratio was calculated on the basis of the result of correlation analysis between geomorphic factors and GIS information after selection of geomorphic factors regarding talus. A best combination, which has the biggest possibility for Talus Potential Index, was found by using SRC and AUC methods after calculating the number of cases for each thematic maps. This combination which includes aspect, geology, slope, land-cover, soil depth and soil drainage factors, showed quite high accuracy by 74.47% indicating the ratio of real existent talus to potential talus distribution.

In order to examine the runoff characteristics of scoria cones in Jeju Island, hydrological observations were conducted in the experimental basin (5.1 ha) of Eoseungsaeng-oreum which has been predominantly covered with Carpinus laxiflora and Quercus serrata. Although runoff has continuously occurred during the observed period, the baseflow gradually increased from April and decreased from October. The peak flow approximately corresponded to every rainfall events except for the rainfall events which has slight total precipitation and no previous precipitation. The experimental basin shows flash runoff response and short lag time; the mean lag time is 35.8 minutes. Although the runoff ratio of quick flow is proportional to total precipitation, the increasing rate is low and the maximum runoff ratio is 24.7%. In addition, the runoff ratio is less than 1% in 68.3% of the rainfall events, suggesting that the portion of quick flow to total precipitation is low. The rainfall events with relatively long event time demonstrated a secondary peak generated by translatory flow. The runoff characteristics seem to be related to local impermeable beds in the experimental basin.

The objective of this study was two fold: firstly, we analyzed how the Geoparks have been run since the first one had been designated on December 31th, 2015. We then investigated how visitors' geographical and geological recognitions on the parks have changes. We visited geosites and investigated how well these sites accorded with the conditions for running Geoparks. In addition, scenery pictures and hashtags uploaded in Instagram between 2015 and 2016 were collected in order to analyze visitors preferences on the geosites along the, Hantan Imjingang River Geopark. Results showed that the hotspots were Bidulginang Waterall, Art Valley, and Jaein Waterfall. Compared to the ratio of geographical and geological references in 2015, the hashtags in all of these three geosites increased. The increases were as much as 3% in Bidulginang Falls, 0.6% in Art Valley, and 5% in Jaein Falls. In labelling the geographical and geological terms in Bidulginang Falls and Jaein Falls, the most frequently mentioned hashtags was "columnar joint", followed by "natural monument", "Geopark", and "basalt canyon". This study includes the study of visitors recognition which is one of the most important, but somehow neglected factor for the geopark's management.

The basin characteristics reflect the attributes of geomorphological pattern of basin and stream networks affect the rainfall-runoff. In order to analyze the relationship between the basin runoff and stream morphometric characteristics, the morphometric characteristics were investigated for 27 water-level observation stations on 19 rivers in the Han River basin using Arc-map. The morphometric characteristics were divided into linear, areal and relief aspects for calculation while the annual mean runoff ratio as a basin response by rainfall was estimated using the measured precipitation and discharge to analyze the rainfall-runoff characteristics. The correlation among the morphometric parameters were schematized to analyze the correlations among them. The multiple regression equation for rainfall-runoff ratio was provided with morphometric parameters of stream length ratio, form factor ratio, shape factor, stream area ratio, and relief ratio and the coefficient of determination was 0.691. The RMSE and MAPE between the measured and the estimated annual runoff rates were found as 0.09, 11.61% respectively, the suggested regression equation showed good estimation.

This study investigated the correlation between the diatom community and the environmental variables on the tidal flat surface of the eastern part of Gomso Bay in the West coast of Korea in order to utilize the quantitative sea level record as a basic data. 24 sediment samples at 10cm intervals downstream of the Galgok Stream were used for diatom analysis, grain size analysis and CCA. As a result of diatom analysis, marine diatoms dominated at lower altitudes and the ratio of diatoms to fresh water diatoms and brackish diatoms increased toward upland. As a result of CCA, the contribution of environmental variables was analyzed as 25.3% at altitude, 21.6% at sand, 13.3% at skewness, etc. This means that altitude above sea level has the greatest influence on the diatom composition in the tidal flat surface. It suggests that the contribution of environmental variables at altitude above sea level can be used as a basic data for the quantitative records for reconstruction of paleo-sea level.
The geometric patterns of a stream network in a drainage basin can be viewed as a "fractal" with fractal dimensions. Fractals provide a mathematical framework for treatment of irregular, ostensively complex shapes that show similar patterns or geometric characteristics over a range of scale. GIUH (Geomorphological Instantaneous Unit Hydrograph) is based on the hydrologic response of surface runoff in a catchment basin. This model incorporates geomorphologic parameters of a basin using Horton's order ratios. For an ordered drainage system, the fractal dimensions can be derived from Horton's laws of stream numbers, stream lengths and stream areas. In this paper, a fractal approach, which is leading to representation of a 2-parameter Gamma distribution type GIUH, has been carried out to incorporate the self similarity of the channel networks based on the high correlations between the Horton's order ratios. The shape and scale parameter of the GIUH-Nash model of IUH in terms of Horton's order ratios of a catchment proposed by Rosso(l984J are simplified by applying the fractal dimension of main stream length and channel network of a river basin. basin.

This study analyzed the topographical characteristics by extracting property factors of stream (stream order, number of stream, stream length, mean stream length) and property factors of basin (basin area, basin length, total stream length, total number of stream, basin mean width, form factor, maximum stream order, basin density, stream frequency, relief ratio, mean elevation, mean, slope, maximum elevation) from DEM (digital elevation model) and stream network generated by 1:5,000 NGIS (national geographical information system) data for the Bukhan-river basin. In addition, topographical factors for upper, mid stream and lower stream were analyzed and the mutuality of the factors by linear and nonlinear regression curve was identified.
