Geometric nonlinear performance simulation and analysis of complex modern buildings and industrial products require high-performance shell elements. Balancing multiple aspects of performance in the one geometric nonlinear analysis element remains challenging. We present a new shell element, flat shell DKMGQ-CR (Co-rotational Discrete Kirchhoff-Mindlin Generalized Conforming Quadrilateral), for linear and geometric nonlinear analysis of both thick and thin shells. The DKMGQ-CR shell element was developed by combining the advantages of high-performance membrane and plate elements in a unified coordinate system and introducing the co-rotational formulation to adapt to large deformation analysis. The effectiveness of linear and geometric nonlinear analysis by DKMGQ-CR is verified through the tests of several classical numerical benchmarks. The computational results show that the proposed new element adapts to mesh distortion and effectively alleviates shear and membrane locking problems in linear and geometric nonlinear analysis. Furthermore, the DKMGQ-CR demonstrates high performance in analyzing thick and thin shells. The proposed element DKMGQ-CR is expected to provide an accurate, efficient, and convenient tool for the geometric nonlinear analysis of shells.

The mainly used technique to rectify satellite images with distortion is to develop a mathematical relationship between the pixel coordinates on the image and the corresponding points on the ground. By defining the relationship between two coordinate systems, a polynomial model is designed and various linear transformations are used. These GCP based geometric correction has performed overall plane to plane mapping. In the overall plane mapping, overall structure of a scene is considered, but local variation is discarded. The highly variant height of region is resampled with distortion in the rectified image. To solve this problem, this paper proposed the TIN-based rectification on a satellite image. The TIN based rectification is good to correct local distortion, but insufficient to reflect overall structure of one scene. So, this paper shows the experimental result and the analysis of each rectification model. It also describes the relationship GCP distribution and rectification model. We can choose a geometric correction model as the structural characteristic of a satellite image and the acquired GCP distribution.
This paper describes the camera caliberation based-neural network with a camera modeling that accounts for major sources of camera distortion, namely, radial, decentering, and thin prism distortion. Radial distoriton causes an inward or outward displacement of a given image point from its ideal location. Actual optical systems are subject to various degrees of decentering, that is the optical centers of lens elements are not strictly collinear. Thin prism distortion arises from imperfection in lens design and manufacturing as well as camera assembly. It is our purpose to develop the vision system for the pattern recognition and the automatic test of parts and to apply the line of manufacturing. The performance of proposed camera aclibration is illustrated by simulation and experiment.
An alternative interpretation of the completeness requirements for the higher order elements is presented. Apart from the familiar condition, $\sum_iN_i=1$, some additional conditions to be satisfied by the shape functions of higher order elements are identified. Elements with their geometry in the natural form, i.e., without any geometrical distortion, satisfy most of these additional conditions inherently. However, the geometrically distorted elements satisfy only fewer conditions. The practical implications of the satisfaction or non-satisfaction of these additional conditions are investigated with respect to a 3-node bar element, and 8- and 9-node quadrilateral elements. The results suggest that non-satisfaction of these additional conditions results in poorer performance of the element when the element is geometrically distorted. Based on the new interpretation of completeness requirements, a 3-node element and an 8-node rectangular element that are insensitive to mid-node distortion under a quadratic displacement field have been developed.

Usually triangular patches are used to transfer geometric shape in Rpaid Prototyping CAM system. STL, a list of triangles, is de facto in RP industry. Because STL has no topology data, it can cause errornous results. So, STL should be verified before using. After adding support structures to anchor the part to the platform and to prevent sagging or distortion, slicing and layer by layer manufacturing process are done. But triangular patch is surface model and cannot provide dufficient information on geometry in the above processes. So, geometric modeling is necessary in verifying STL, adding support structures, and slicing. It is natural that triangle based modeling is the best when traingular patches are used as input. Considering support structures, solid and faces coexist in RP process. Therefore non-manifold modeler is required. In this study, triangle based non-manifold geometric modeling is proposed for RP system consitent with STL input.

We proposed an improved reliable SVD-based watermarking scheme resistant to geometric attacks while having high fidelity with no false-positive problem. Principal components of a watermark image are embedded into singular values of LL, LH, HL, and HH sub-bands of a transformed cover image by RDWT(redundant discrete wavelet transform) with optimal scale factors. Each scale factor is generated by trading-off fidelity and robustness using Differential Evolution (DE) algorithm. Zernike Moment (ZM) is used to estimate the geometric distortion and to correct the watermarked image before extracting watermark. The proposed scheme improves fidelity and robustness of existing reliable SVD based watermarking schemes while resisting to geometric attacks.
Nowadays the risk of radiation is getting more serious, so we must know the exact dose that was irradiated, Because very high radiation dose is used in radiation therapy field. We used the ionization chamber which measure the radiation dose in this study. We tried to know the incorrect result from the distortion of geometric structure of ionization chamber and we studied how to find the distortion of geometric structure of ionization chamber. We used a radio fluoroscopy to find the wound degree of electrode of ionization chamber and a reconstructed 3D CT image to analyze the wound degree of electrode quantitatively. we measured degree of distortion by comparing with absorbed dose of normal electrode and wound electrode. The comparative result is not absolute dosimetry at specific point but relative dosimetry between thats. We measured 4 MV, 10MV photon with same absorbed dose and dose rate. The degree of distortion of wound electrode was totally $5.5{\sim}7.2%$, and there was no difference between two energies. The variation induced from radiation dose to be irradiated and dose rate, and the degree of distortion from wound direction also was almost similar value. We could find that the geometric structure of ionization chamber that can influence a basic measurement of radiation dose can be changed by old usage and inattention of management in this study, especially winding of electrode can be happened, in radiation therapy field, It is very important to keep precise radiation dose quantitatively.

The seriousness of a traffic accident appears relatively higher on the curve sections compared with the straight sections due to a change in speed caused by a change in the driver's sight. In particular, the visual distortion phenomenon, one of the dangerous factors taking place on the curve sections, appears different according to the road's geometric design. Although it is a genuinely principal design factor which should be necessarily considered in designing a road, the previous researches on establishing the design standards for it have been insufficiently conducted. As a result, the establishment of the road design standards for the curve sections considering the sight distortion phenomenon is desperately required. This research examined the previous researches on the driver's behaviors, the driver's sight characteristics and the perceived curve radius on the curve sections, and developed the theoretical model of perceived curve radius to which a mathematical technique is applied in consideration of the visual distortion phenomenon on the two-lane curve sections in a local area. In addition, after the theoretical visual distortion was calculated on the basis of the theoretical model of perceived curve radius, the range of error on the theoretical recognition radius model formula was verified through comparing it with the previous researches' experiential visual distortion level and analyzing both of them. As a result, it was observed that as the curve radius practically increases in the theoretical recognition curve radius, the range of error tends to go down, which reflects well the characteristics of the curve sections on the road. Based on this research, it is expected that this research will be helpful to eliminate the safety defects when designing the curve sections and contribute to develop the road design standards considering human factors in the future.

Due to the fact that fish-eye lens can provide super wide angles with the minimum number of cameras, field-of-view over 180 degrees, many vehicles are attempting to mount the camera system. Camera calibration should be preceded, and geometrical correction on the radial distortion is needed to provide the images for the driver's assistance. However, vehicle fish-eye cameras have diagonal output images rather than circular images and have asymmetric distortion beyond the horizontal angle. In this paper, we introduce a camera model and metric calibration method for vehicle cameras which uses feature points of the image. And undistort the input image through a perspective projection, where straight lines should appear straight. The method fitted vehicle fish-eye lens with different field of views.

Data compression becomes increasingly an important issue for reducing data storage spaces as well as transmis-sion time in network environments. In 3D geometric models, the normal vectors of faces or meshes take a major portion of the data so that the compression of the vectors, which involves the trade off between the distortion of the images and compression ratios, plays a key role in reducing the size of the models. So, raising the compression ratio when the normal vector is compressed and minimizing the visual distortion of shape model's shading after compression are important. According to the recent papers, normal vector compression is useful to heighten com-pression ratio and to improve memory efficiency. But, the study about distortion of shading when the normal vector is compressed is rare relatively. In this paper, new normal vector compression method which is clustering normal vectors and assigning Representative Normal Vector (RNV) to each cluster and using the angular deviation from actual normal vector is proposed. And, using this new method, Visually Undistinguishable Lossy Compression (VULC) algorithm which distortion of shape model's shading by angular deviation of normal vector cannot be identified visually has been developed. And, being applied to the complicated shape models, this algorithm gave a good effectiveness.
