Phylogenetic analysiccccccccc of the genus Stemphylium based on elongation factor -1 alpha and calmodulin gene squences

  • The importance and diversity of the genus Stemphylium highlights the need for accurate identification of species. However, many Stemphylium isolates have been misidentified due to the use of spore size as the only identifying character. Molecular phylogenetic analyses were performed on fifty-four isolates covering 9 Stemphylium species collected in Korea. Phylogenetic analysis of the translation elongation factor -1 alpha (EF-1) and the calmodulin gene sequence data showed that Stemphylium species were segregated into seven distinct groups, most of w hichcorrelated with species identified by morphology. Analysis of EF-1 in particular was useful for establishing well- supported relationships among the species of Stemphylium.

한국산 위축선충류의 분류학적 연구 (Systematic Study of Korean Stunt Nematodes)

  • 지금까지 한국산 Belonolaimidae과는 2아과 4속 23종이 발표되었다. 이중에 Tylenchorhynchus maritini는 T. annulatus로 정리되었고, Merlinius acuminatus, M. brevidens, M. joctus, M. lenorus, M. nothus, M. koreanus는 Geocenamus 속으로 변경되었으며, M. clavicaudatus, M. macrurus, M. socialis는 Amplimerlinius 속으로 변경되었다. Quinisulcius capitatus는 Tylenchorhynchus capitatus로 정리되었다. 각 속별 검소펴를 작성하였으며, 종을 동정하는데 용역하도록 사진을 첨부하였고, 채집지 및 기주식물을 기록했다.

  • 단풍고리장님노린재속 N. hakusanensis (Yasunaga, 1991), N. roseus (Yasunaga, 1991)와 N. zhugei (Yasunaga, 1991) 3종의 국내분포를 처음으로 보고하고, 각 종의 종 동정에 필요한 사진자료와 웅성생식기 그림 및 간략한 형태정보를 기술하였다.

  • Mites of the genus Antennoseius of family Ascidae are free-living soil predator mostly observed on the open grass field. In Korea, only two species, Antennoseius imbricatus Ishikawa, 1969 and A. japonicus Ishikawa, 1979 were reported in 1990s. Recent series of soil acarine biodiversity survey in Gyeongbuk province during 2009-2015. We recovered a new record of Antennoseius avius (Karg, 1976) to Korean inventory from riparian grassland. Detailed description of the species as well as the identification key to the genus and species were provided.

  • Mite of the genus Hypoaspis of family Laelapidae are free-living soil predators mostly observed on the open grass field. Five species in the genus Hypoaspis were listed in Korean Catalog (NIBR, 2013) without detail information. Recent series of soil acarine biodiversity survey in Gyeongbuk and Gangwon provinces during 2009-2015 recovered a new record of Hypoaspis sardous (Canestrini, 1884) to Korean inventory from apple orchard and riparian grass land. Detailed description and morphological comparison with the related species, H. aculeifer which is well known biological control agent of horticultural crop pests were provided with identification keys.

First Discovery of the Lichen-Feeding Moth Bacotia sakabei (Lepidoptera: Psychidae) from Korea

  • The family Psychidae is a small group consisting of 241 genera and 1,350 species in the world. The genus Bacotia, belonging to the family Psychidae, what was established by Tutt based on the type species, Fumea sepium Speyer and Speyer, 1846. In this study, we aimed to record lichen-feeding bagworms in Korea. The genus Bacotia Tutt is reported for the first time from Korea with one newly recorded species, Bacotia sakabei Seino, 1981. All available information, including the collecting localities, host plants, illustrations of adults and genitalia are presented. A DNA barcode for precise identification of the species is also described.

  • 금번 연구를 통해 작은검정주머니나방속이 국내에서 처음 발견되어 보고한다. 작은검정주머니나방속 내 작은날개검정주머니나방에 대한 암컷 형태 특징, 채집지 정보 등을 포함한 이용가능한 모든 정보를 제공하였다. 또한 신속한 종 동정을 위한 DNA 바코드 정보를 작성하였다.

  • Five species of the genus Pythium were identified from 91 isolates which were collected from rice seedlings in machine transplanting nursery boxes and paddy fields in Korea. They included P. graminicola complex, P. monospermum complex, P. rostratum complex, and P. ultimum complex. The most frequently found species of the genus Pythium was P. graminicola complex followed by P. monospermum complex. Rice seed germinability was greatly decreased by being infested with P. graminicola complex at nursery box. P. graminicola complex was the most virulent in terms of prohibiting germinations and stunting plants in nursery boxes.

  • 19종(種)의 Prunus 종자(種子)의 식별허점(識別虛點)을 파악(把握)하고져 외부(外部) 및 내부(內部)의 형태(形態), 길이와 넓이의 측정치(測定値)에 대(對)한 통계적(統計的) 처리(處理), 종자분말(種子粉末)의 methanol, 침출액(浸出液) 수침액(水浸液)에 대(對)한 염산반응(鹽酸反應)과 Maeule 반응(反應)에 대(對)하여 실험(實驗)한 결과(結果) 상기방법(上記方法)에 의(依)하여 그 식별(識別)이 가능(可能)함을 알게 되었다.
