Objective: This study aims to investigate the genetic structure and characteristics of the Angus cattle population in Hungary. The survey was performed with the assistance of the Hungarian Hereford, Angus, Galloway Association (HHAGA). Methods: Genetic parameters of 1,369 animals from 16 Angus herds were analyzed using the genotyping results of 12 microsatellite markers with the aid of PowerMarker, Genalex, GDA-NT2021, and STRUCTURE software. Genotyping of DNA was performed using an automated genetic analyzer. Based on pairwise identity by state values of animals, the Python networkx 2.3 library was used for network analysis of the breed and to identify the central animals. Results: The observed numbers of alleles on the 12 loci under investigation ranged from 11 to 18. The average effective number of alleles was 3.201. The overall expected heterozygosity was 0.659 and the observed heterozygosity was 0.710. Four groups were detected among the 16 Angus herds. The breeders' information validated the grouping results and facilitated the comparison of birth weight, age at first calving, number of calves born and productive lifespan data between the four groups, revealing significant differences. We identified the central animals/herd of the Angus population in Hungary. The match of our group descriptions with the phenotypic data provided by the breeders further underscores the value of cooperation between breeders and researchers. Conclusion: The observation that significant differences in the measured traits occurred among the identified groups paves the way to further enhancement of breeding efficiency. Our findings have the potential to aid the development of new breeding strategies and help breeders keep the Angus populations in Hungary under genetic supervision. Based on our results the efficient use of an upcoming genomic selection can, in some cases, significantly improve birth weight, age at first calving, number of calves born and the productive lifespan of animals.
Using yeast, Saccharomyces cerevisiae, and the integrate vector system, we have isolated and characterized an autonomously replicating sequence (ARS) from Aspergillus nidulans. The DNA fragment, designated ANR1, is 5.0 kb in size and maintained free from the chromosome in S. cerevisiae. The YIplac211-ANR1 recombinant plasmid, which consists of sequences derived from the yeast integrative vector YIplac211 and 5.0 kb ANR1 fragment, showed a 104-fold enhancement in transformation efficiency over that found for YIplac211, and was easily recovered from the transformed yeast. Genetic analysis of transformants showed that YIplac21-ANR1 could be over 96% cured when cultured over 20 generations in complete medium and thus suggests that this sequence is mitotically unstable. In A. nidulans, recombinant plasmid PILJ16-4.5 which carries the 4.5 kb EcoRI fragment of ANR1 showed a 170-fold enhancement in transformation efficiency compared to that of the integrative vector PILJ16.
In this paper, we analyzed the microsatellites in the transcript sequences of the whole Laccaria bicolor genome. Our results revealed that, apart from the triplet repeats, length diversification and richness of the detected microsatellites positively correlated with their repeat motif lengths, which were distinct from the variation trends observed for the transcriptional microsatellites in the genome of higher plants. We also compared the microsatellites detected in the genic regions and in the nongenic regions of the L. bicolor genome. Subsequently, SSR primers were designed for the transcriptional microsatellites in the L. bicolor genome. These SSR primers provide desirable genetic resources to the ectomycorrhizae community, and this study provides deep insight into the characteristics of the micro satellite sequences in the L. bicolor genome.
In this paper, we design a GA-fuzzy precompensator for enhancement of power system stability. Here, a fuzzy precompensator is designed as a fuzzy logic-based precompensation approach for Power System Stabilizer(PSS). This scheme is easily implemented simply by adding a fuzzy precompensator to an existing PSS. And we optimize the fuzzy precompensator with a genetic algorithm for complements the demerit such as the difficulty of the component selection of fuzzy controller, name1y, scaling factor, membership function and control rules. Simulation results show that the proposed control technique is superior to a conventional PSS in dynamic responses over the wide range of operating conditions and is convinced robustness and reliableness in view of structure.

In this Paper, it was designed the GA-fuzzy controller of a Thyristor Controlled Series Capacitor(TCSC) for enhancement of power system stability. The newly designed controller of TCSC was designed to overcome the nonlinearity such as operating point change of power system as well as to respond to disturbances as uncertainties of line parameters and line fault. So, fuzzy controller by intelligent control theory was used for it. And the fuzzy controller was optimized from a genetic algorithm for complements the demerit such as the difficulty of the component selection of fuzzy controller namely. scaling factor. membership function and control rules. Nonlinear simulation results show that the proposed control technique is superior to conventional PSS in dynamic responses over the wide range of operating conditions and is convinced robustness and reliableness in view of structure.

A wide spectrum of potential applications using substrate integrated waveguide (SIW) technologies in conjunction with air hole regions is introduced, and an efficient optimization methodology to cope with the multiple air hole effect in SIW applications is proposed. The methodology adopts a genetic algorithm to obtain optimum air hole dimensions for the specific propagation constant that can be accurately calculated using the recursive and closed form equations presented. The optimization results are evaluated by designing an SIW bandpass filter, and they show excellent performance. The optimization methodology using the proposed equations is effective in performance enhancement for the purposes of low loss and broadband SIW applications.
The purpose of this research is to propose a design technique of concrete mix proportions satisfying service life through genetic algorithm (GA) and neural network (NN). For this, thirty mix proportions and the related diffusion coefficients in high performance concrete are analyzed and fitness function for diffusion coefficient is obtained considering mix components like w/b (water to binder ratio), cement content, mineral admixture (slag, flay ash and silica fume) content, sand and coarse aggregate content. Through averaging the results of 10 times GA simulations, relative errors to the previous data decrease lower than 5.0% and the simulated mix proportions are verified with the experimental results. Assuming the durability design parameters, intended diffusion coefficient for intended service life is derived and mix proportions satisfying the service life are obtained. Among the mix proportions, the most optimized case which satisfies required concrete strength and the lowest cost is selected through GA algorithm. The proposed technique would be improved with the enhancement of comprehensive data set including wider the range of diffusion coefficients.
In order to improve anthocyanin production, effects of fungal elicitation in hairy root culture were investigated. fungal elicitor prepared from Fusarium moniliforme was the best in enhancement of anthocyanin production among the eight fungal elicitors tested. The optimum treat-ment time and concentration of treated elicitor for anthocyanin production were 12 hours and 3.28 mg carbohydrates per liter medium. Also, fungal elicitor was treated to hairy root culture in flat-bottomed fluidized-bed bioreactor. The anthocyanin production of elicited culture was enhanced 227% than non-treated.
