Application of wavelet multiresolution analysis and artificial intelligence for generation of artificial earthquake accelerograms

  • This paper suggests the use of wavelet multiresolution analysis (WMRA) and neural network for generation of artificial earthquake accelerograms from target spectrum. This procedure uses the learning capabilities of radial basis function (RBF) neural network to expand the knowledge of the inverse mapping from response spectrum to earthquake accelerogram. In the first step, WMRA is used to decompose earthquake accelerograms to several levels that each level covers a special range of frequencies, and then for every level a RBF neural network is trained to learn to relate the response spectrum to wavelet coefficients. Finally the generated accelerogram using inverse discrete wavelet transform is obtained. An example is presented to demonstrate the effectiveness of the method.

  • 새로운 마이크로프로세서의 설계, 최적화, 그리고 완성 후 어플리케이션의 작성 단계에서 칩의 명령어 집합 시뮬레이션은 필수적인 요소이다. 그러나, 기존의 시뮬레이션 툴들은 저 수준의 하드웨어 기술언어와 게이트 레벨 이하의 시뮬레이션으로 인해 시뮬레이터 구성과 실행 시에 상당한 시간적 지연을 초래하고 있다. 본 논문에서는 이러한 문제들을 해소하고 칩 제작과정에서 발생하는 잦은 설계 변경에 유연성 있게 대응할 수 있는 레지스터 전송 수준의 명령어 집합 시뮬레이터 생성기를 제안하며 그 설계 및 구현에 관해 기술한다.

  • From a manufacturing standpoint it would be desirable to monitor the degradation of drawing die, that is essential for the maintenance of die quality, the evaluation of product integrity and the reducing scrap. Acoustic emission is powerful method in monitoring fine wire drawing process, especially in detecting the die fracture at early stage. Experiments also suggested that acoustic emission sigals contained valuable information regarding the stage of a drawing process such as the surface appearance of products and the condition of lubrication. These informations are AE monitoring techniques a possible tool in monitoring the drawing process operation. In order to approach this, this paper discusses the nature of acoustic emission signal presented which illustrate the effects of wire and die material, lubricants, and drawing speed on the generation and the mean voltage level of acoustic emission signal. From these experimental, results, we understanded controlling factors of acoustic emission generation.

생산자조직 내 자원순환형 농업시스템 구축사례와 시사점 (Case Study on the Directions for Establishment of Resource Cycling Agricultural System Focused on Farmer's Organization)

  • The objectives of this study were to establish of resource cycling agricultural system focused on farmer's organization. Case is selected as the farming corporation for the regional agriculture considering the amount of sowing by-products and livestock by-products generated. As a result, generation of fertilizer ingredient depend on feces and urine of Korean native cattle is estimated nitrogen 7.7 ton, phosphoric acid 2.9 ton, and potassium 4.9 ton. On the other hand, generation of fertilizer ingredient demand in cultivated acreage is estimated nitrogen 42.4 ton, phosphoric acid 14.3 ton, and potassium 17.0 ton. Therefore, optimum livestock numbers is estimated 1,867 cattle and it means 1,468 cattle can be raise additionally. In order to complete the resource cycling agricultural system, it should be establish nutrient management system at all of organization level and achieve improvements in regional resource supply. Both economic value of organic fertilizer and the resource cycling system linked market system is considered to develop resource cycling level.

Relationship between Magnetic Properties of YIG Ferrites and Intermodulation Characteristics of Microwave Isolators

  • The generation of the intermodulation noises in microwave isolators has been studied in relation to the characteristics of YIG ferrites designed for this application. We have investigated the influences of porosity and crystalline anisotropy related to the magnetic loss, which causes the generation of intermodulation signals. The power dependence of the intermodulation power level is stressed as the crystalline anisotropy decreases. These results are consistent with the nonlinear effects of a single normal mode before the excitation of the spin-waves. It also appears that this power level is proportional to the magnitude of dc bias magnetic field.

The C Language Auto-generation of Reactor Trip Logic Caused by Steam Generator Water Level Using CASE Tools

  • The purpose is to produce a model of nuclear reactor trip logic caused by the steam generator water level of Wolsong 2/3/4 unit through an activity chart and a statechart and to produce C language automatically using Statechart-based Formalism and Stalemate MAGNUM toolset suggested by David Harel Formalism. It was worth attempting auto-generation of C language though we manually made Software Requirement Specification(SRS) for safety-critical software using statechart-based formalism. Most of the phases of the software life-cycle except the software requirement specification of an analysis phase were generated automatically by Computer Aided Software Engineering (CASE) tools. It was verified that automatically produced C language has high productivity, portability, and quality through the simulation.

시스템 진단을 위한 실장 MUX의 검사패턴 생성 알고리즘 (The Test Pattern Generation Algorithm of Embedded MUX for the System Diagnosis.)

  • In this paper, we propose the test pattern generation algorithm of the embedded faulty MUX for the prevention of misdiagnosis of digital systems. When the system is partitioned with a large number of functional blocks, if the faults are exsisted in a embedded MUX then it can not diagnose the wanted observation of functional block. The proposed test pattern generstion algorithm can apply the MUXs that designd 2-level and multi-level both. Fault coverage becomes 100% and so it is no necessary of the additional fault simulation and the proposed algorithm that have the regulary and easily generated 2d test patterns. And we confirmed that the reduction of test cost becomes 85%, compared with the conventional segmentation testing scheme.

  • Companies need to secure strong methods of new product development in a rapidly changing competitive environment. They overly focusing on the perception of consumers can not lead radical changes. They need to generate sufficient creative ideas in the early stages of new product development to make radical change. The purpose of this study is to examine the effect of a creative method on the generation of creative ideas. An enhanced creativity method was designed considering existing methodology and cognitive elements. This study specifically focused on team rather than individual level creativity. This arrangement reflects the fact that companies in practice rely on team unit in NPD process. The contribution of the study is two fold : enhancing existing methodology, and testing the effect of conceptual distance on making of creative ideas. The experimental results showed that appropriate conceptual distance help to make best creative output and that ABIS attribute is proved to be more effective than traditional association.

Exploring Alignments among International Baccalaureate, Next Generation Science Standards, and the 2015 Science Curriculum of Korea, Focusing on Elementary Science

  • This study aimed to explore alignments among three curricula based on the contents of the university level curriculum. The 2015 revised curriculum, International Baccalaureate(IB), and Next Generation Science Standards(NGSS) were selected for this study, and a college textbook was analyzed to compare the curricula. As the age groups studying the curricular were different, we reorganized them according to school ages prior to conducting the study. The results of the analysis were: first, the contents of the 2015 revised curriculum did not sufficiently elaborate on the natural hazards related to humans, unlike the university level, IB PYP, and NGSS curricula. Third, there are different ways of introducing scientific vocabulary curricula, meaning that the number of scientific vocabularies in the 2015 revised curriculum was less than that in the IB, PYP, and NGSS.

  • In recently days using distributed power generation systems constructed with boost type dc-dc converters is being extremely popularized because of the rising need of environment friendly energy generation power systems. In this paper a new constructed An efficient Step-Up DC-DC Converter for DC Grid Applications s proposed to boost a low level DC voltage(36-80V) to high DC bus (380V) level. When comparing to other step-up converters, the proposed topology has a reduced number of switching devices, can make high quality power with lower input current ripple and has wider input DC voltage range. Finally, the performance of the proposed topology is presented by simulation results with 350W hardware prototype.
