The flow inside an axial turbomachinery must be unsteady. Rotor-stator interaction by two blade rows influences performance, the generation of noise and vibration. So, it will be necessary to study the rotor-stator interaction for the design of an axial fan in which the axial gap between two blade rows is small. In this study, rotor-stator interaction is investigated by experimental methods. The research fan has one stage which consists of 24 rotor blades and 22 stator blades. Three-dimensional velocities measured using $45^{\circ}$ slanted hot wire probe and total pressure is measured using Kiel total pressure probe between rotor and stator with the axial 25%, 55%, 145% of chord length,. This study describes the influence of rotor-stator gap on the flow pattern, performance and loss. The efficiency curve show that the change of the rotor-stator gap make difference in the efficiency. And, the 3-dimensional velocity distribution show that the potential interaction between the rotor and the stator have a great effect on the flow field downstream of rotor, where there are wake flow. various vortices in hub region and leakage vortex in casing region etc.

In this paper we describe the maximum energy transfer of CSA(Capacitive Switching Antenna). CSA which is radiated antenna system contain energy storage and switch, antenna needs to high voltage source for electrical field radiation experiment. In this experiment we employed Marx generator as a charging source. CSA can radiate electrical field more efficiently by varying antenna capacitance. The electromagnetic generation system which was using CSA has some advantages which are more simple and more effective compared to exist system. We evaluated the performance of electromagnetic wave generating system using CSA. As a result UWB gain of system is 0.47, It is higher level than exist system is 0.3. Radiated electrical field strength at 1m is 70kV/m. It is measured by D-dot sensor and gap distance is 20mm. Center frequency of CSA is approximately 25MHz. When vary the antenna gap distance from 50mm to 20mm, we can find the radiation field strength is decrease and antenna center frequency is increased. We also simulated the energy transfer efficiency to compare with experiment result. Consequentially, CSA needs to appropriate capacitance which is similar value from marx generator for maximum energy transfer, and gap is less than 1mm to increase the CSA capacitance.
The use of Zn coated steel has increased in the automotive industry due to its excellent corrosion resistance. Conventionally the BIW(body-in-white) structure and the hang-on parts have been made of Zn coated steel and more recently Zn coated steel began to be applied in the chassis parts. During gas metal arc (GMA) welding of the chassis part, lap fillet joint used to be adopted but spatter generation and porosities are most important concerns. In the industrial applications, an intentional joint gap was made to avoid the weld defects but it is not easy to control the size of joint gap. In this research, gas tungsten arc (GTA) is combined with GMA welding where GTA precedes GMA. As pulsed arc was adopted as GMA, GTA was oscillated along the longitudinal direction by pulsing GMA, but the arc oscillation did not disturb the molten droplet transfer of GMA welding. By increasing the distance between GTA and GMA, the length of weld pool increased and porosity could be reduced. Moreover porosity in the welds was fully removed when the distance between two arcs was 15 mm.

A variable-spacing cesium thermionic energy conversion test station is designed and fabricated for the study of power generation. The diode is in the form of a guard-ringed plane-parallel geometry in which a polycrystalline rhenium emitter of 2 cmS02T area faces a radiation-cooled polycrystalline rhenium collector of 1.9 cmS02T area. The emission of plasma from heated refractory electrode metal is the driving reaction in the direct conversion of heat to electricity by thermionic energy conversion. The plasma is produced from electrons and positive ions formed simultaneously by thermionic emission and surface ionization of cesium atoms incident on the hot emitter from the cesium vapor in the diode. And high plasma density causes plasma multiplication within the gap due to volume ionization that results in high power output. The variation of the saturation current of a Knudsen converter is investigated at an emitter-collector gap of 0.1 mm and an emitter temperatures. A maximum power output of 13.47 watta/cmS02T is observed at a collector temperature of 963 K and a cesium reservoir temperature of 603 K.

Recently, construction of mass concrete structures except Dam are increased very often. Generation heat due to the hydrating reaction of mass concrete is generally larger than the heat released to the air, foundations and the exist structures. Therefore, internal temperature of mass concrete is remarkably risen and temperature gap between center and surface is extended by various effect. It this gap get large, the crack may be occurred. This crack must be controlled as little as possible to ensure the soundness and durability of structure. Firstly, Temperature rising history of Mass concrete is expected correctly to constrain the crack of mass concrete. So, objectives of this research is to quantify the effects of hydration temperature for the purpose of evaluating accurately the temperature history of mass concrete.

Genetic Algorithm(GA), that is shown stable performance to find an optimal solution, has been used as a method of solving large-scaled optimization problems with complex constraints in various applications. Since it takes so much time to execute a long computation process for iterative evolution and adaptation. In this paper, a hardware-based adaptive GA was proposed to reduce the serious computation time of the evolutionary process and to improve the accuracy of convergence to optimal solution. The proposed GA, based on steady-state model among continuos generation model, performs an adaptive mutation process with consideration of the evolution flow and the population diversity. The drawback of the GA, premature convergence, was solved by the proposed adaptation. The Performance improvement of convergence accuracy for some kinds of problem and condition reached to 5-100% with equivalent convergence speed to high-speed algorithm. The proposed adaptive GAP(Genetic Algorithm Processor) was implemented on FPGA device Xilinx XCV2000E of EHW board for face recognition.

Intrusion detection techniques based on virtual machine introspection (VMI) provide high temper-resistance in comparison with traditional in-host anti-virus tools. However, the presence of semantic gap also leads to the performance and compatibility problems. In order to map raw bits of hardware to meaningful information of virtual machine, detailed knowledge of different guest OS is required. In this work, we present VDSM, a lightweight and general approach based on driver separation mechanism: divide semantic view reconstruction into online driver of view generation and offline driver of semantics extraction. We have developed a prototype of VDSM and used it to do intrusion detection on 13 operation systems. The evaluation results show VDSM is effective and practical with a small performance overhead.
Aerodynamically generated noise is significant when the train speed exceeds 250km/h. Experiments were performed in order to investigate the characteristics of aerodynamic noise sources generated from exterior of the HSR-350x, especially from the inter-coach spacing. Measurements of both the inside and outside of the cabin are carried out to investigate the characteristics of the noise. Effect of the size of the gap has been investigated through an wind tunnel test and it has been found that the low frequency noise is strongly dependent on the size of gap. Also performed is an array measurement to locate different noise sources from the high-speed train. Spectral characteristics of exterior noise sources have been examined through these experiments.

In this talk, I will discuss roles of pseudo vector and scalar potential in changing physical properties of graphene systems. First, graphene under small uniaxial strain is shown to be described by the generalized Weyl's Hamiltonian with inclusion of pseudo vector and scalar potential simultaneously [1]. Thus, strained graphene is predicted to exhibit velocity anisotropy as well as work function enhancement without any gap. Second, if homogeneous strains with different strengths are applied to each layer of bilayer graphene, transverse electric fields across the two layers can be generated without any external electronic sources, thereby opening an energy gap [2]. This phenomenon is made possible by generation of inequivalent pseudo scalar potentials in the two graphene layers. Third, when very tiny lateral interlayer shift occurs in bilayer graphene, the Fermi surfaces of the system are shown to undergo Lifshitz transition [3]. We will show that this unexpected hypersensitive electronic topological transition is caused by a unique interplay between the effective non-Abelian vector potential generated by sliding motions and Berry's phases associated with massless Dirac electrons.
