Appropriate sedation and analgesia are crucial for successful endoscopic procedures, patient safety, and satisfaction. Endoscopic resection for upper gastrointestinal tumors requires a deep sedation level because the procedure is lengthy and induces moderate to severe pain. Continuous patient consciousness assessment and vigilant vital signs monitoring are required for deep sedation. General anesthesia may unintentionally occur even during deep sedation for endoscopic tumor resection, which may cause unexpected complications, especially in high-risk patients. Previous studies have revealed that general anesthesia increases the en bloc resection rate and decreases the procedure time. Complications, such as perforation, aspiration pneumonia, and cardiopulmonary instability, including hypoxemia, hypotension, and arrhythmia, occurred more frequently in patients with sedation compared to those with general anesthesia. Therefore, general anesthesia demonstrated potential benefits in endoscopic treatment results and patient safety. General anesthesia should be considered a useful alternative for sedation in patients undergoing endoscopic gastrointestinal tumor resection. However, more high-quality prospective studies are required to determine the safety and effectiveness of general anesthesia in endoscopic upper gastrointestinal tumor resection because most studies comparing general anesthesia and sedation in these procedures have been retrospectively conducted and the results were inconsistent.

This paper presents a quantitative analysis method to quantitatively indicate a electrical fire preventive effect of safety inspection for electrical facilities for general use. Logic model was developed based on whether enforcement of safety inspection for electrical facilities, and then the developed analysis model was converted to hydraulic model by using mathematical logic. The electrical fire preventive effect of safety inspection for electrical facilities was quantitatively calculated by applying electrical safety inspection results and fire statistics for five years to the developed hydraulic model. The results show that electrical fire preventive effects of 5,542 cases on annual average for five years.
KESCO performed periodical inspection every 1${\sim}$3 years to check the status of maintenance and performance of electric installations for general use (less than 600V in voltage and 75kW in capacity in residential homes) but recently a resident have been avoiding periodical check due to increase of sex crime and empty house, which more and more difficult to secure electrical safety of installation. In order to solve non-inspection problems and improve efficiency of inspection, this paper introduce the model of remote monitoring system that check electrical facilites for general use and we are developing remote monitoring device for reliability test.

Purpose: This study was conducted to identify the effects of organizational health and patient safety culture on nursing activities for patient safety as perceived by hospital nurses. Methods: A self-report survey was administered to staff nurses of one advanced general hospital and two general hospitals in South Korea. Of the questionnaires, 188 were analyzed. Results: Organizational health had a significantly positive correlation with patient safety culture (r=.52, p<.001) and patient safety nursing activities (r=.31, p<.001). Conclusion: The findings in this study indicate that among the factors influencing patient safety nursing activities, organizational factors were more important than individual factors, and organizational health had a big effect on patient safety nursing activities.

Purpose: The purpose of this study is to find out the cognizance of medical device safety information (MDSI) monitoring in the hospital and oriental hospital workers, and the different aspect of MDSI between oriental medical devices and medical devices. Methods: The survey was performed both in the oriental medicine hospital and general hospital. The survey had 16 items; 2 items basic questions, 5 items in the awareness of MDSI, 5 items in the education of MDSI, 4 items in the necessity of defining oriental medical devices and differences between general and oriental medical devices. A total of 120 hospital worker were participated; 60 oriental medicine hospital workers and 60 general hospital workers. They had worked in the oriental medicine or general hospital associated with 'Medical Device Safety Monitoring Center, Dongguk University Ilsan Hospital' in 2019 and 2020. Results: The cognizance of MDSI was high both in oriental medicine hospital and general hospital workers and there were no significant differences between oriental medicine and general hospital workers. When we divided the hospital workers into the senior workers who had worked for over 3 years and junior workers for less than 3 years, the senior workers had higher awareness of MDSI than junior workers. However, the cognizance of education of MDSI was high which was not different between senior and junior workers. Both hospital workers thought that it was necessary to define oriental medicine device legally and the oriental medical device might have low risk and less side effect than medical device. Conclusion: The cognizance of MDSI was high and there was no significant differences between oriental medicine and general hospital workers. Because the senior hospital workers had higher recognition of MDSI, we need to provide the continuous education program for junior hospital workers. Although oriental medical device are thought to be safer than medical device, we need to have a legal definition.

Background: There is considerable evidence that leadership influences workplace safety, but less is known about the relative importance of different leadership styles for safety. In addition, a leadership style characterized by an emphasis and a focus on promoting safety has rarely been investigated alongside other more general leadership styles. Methods: Data were collected through a survey to which 269 employees in a paper mill company responded. A regression analysis was conducted to examine the relative roles of transformational, transactional (management-by-exception active; MBEA), and safety-specific leadership for different safety behavioral outcomes (compliance behavior and safety initiative behaviors) and for minor and major injuries. Results: A safety-specific leadership contributed the most to the enhanced safety of the three different kinds of leadership. Transformational leadership did not contribute to any safety outcome over and above that of a safety-specific leadership, whereas a transactional leadership (MBEA) was associated with negative safety outcomes (fewer safety initiatives and increased minor injuries). Conclusion: The most important thing for leaders aiming at improving workplace safety is to continuously emphasize safety, both in their communication and by acting as role models. This highlights the importance for leadership training programs aiming to improve safety to actually focus on safety-promoting communication and behaviors rather than general leadership. Furthermore, an overly monitoring and controlling leadership style can be detrimental to attempts at achieving improved workplace safety.

Objectives: General livestock farmers are known as a high riskgroup for zoonoses, but studies of general livestock farmers in regard tozoonoses have been rare in Korea. We surveyed awareness of zoonoses amonggeneral livestock farmers to suggest directions for education. Methods: A questionnaire was developed examining the workbehaviors and risk factors of general livestock farmers. We conducted a questionnairesurvey on awareness on zoonoses among 265 general livestock farmers. Results: The awareness rates for zoonosis itself, brucellosis, and q-fever were 13.0%, 65.0%, and 2.3%, respectively. The awarenessrate of zoonoses and brucellosis tended to increase with sex. Conclusions: Livestock is the principal reservoir ofzoonoses. Therefore, effective working guidelines for preventing zoonoses amonggeneral livestock farmers must be developed and an educational program onzoonoses is needed for general livestock farmers. Furthermore, publicityactivities on the prevention of zoonoses are needed for high-risk groups.
Patient safety culture for the general hospital to investigate the perception of radiological technologists, managing of the patient safety provides the Foundation for the safety activities as a basis to develop a program for providing. Patient safety culture for the general hospital to investigate the perception of Radiological technologists, the duration of the survey of the study on June 13, 2012 to June 20, and five general hospitals worked on Radiological technologists workers were material and analyzed the target of 198 (SPSS ver. 19.0). Patient safety activities within the Department, the factors affecting direct care, communication, medical malpractice, hospitals rated, safe for the patient safety culture and the reported accidents, dangerous and caused an accident, most feel that patient safety incident reporting system according to the results of evaluating medical accidents patient safety culture regarding recognition, work appeared in more than 25 years, even the most highly evaluated, the working period of 10 patient safety to 15 years the most highly. Therefore, General Hospital, Director of the patient safety culture improvement of radiation in order to have sufficient staffing, aggressive approach to patient safety issues, and safe working period of relapse prevention of accidents to the radiation as well as giving systematic consideration of mission medical accident reporting system will be active.
Purpose : The purpose of this study was to identify the association between safety care activity and documentation of nursing records among nurses working in hospitals and to provide basic data for developing hospital policy for the documentation of nursing records. Methods : By using a self-reported questionnaire, data were collected from 212 nurses working in six general hospitals in Jeju province from November 2015. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, t-test, ANOVA, Pearson correlation coefficients, and stepwise multiple regression with the SAS WIN 9.2 program. Results : Safety care activity was positively correlated with the documentation of nursing records (r=.83, p<.001). The documentation of nursing records was significantly predicted by safety care activity, working department, and nursing delivery system, and 70.9% of the variance in the documentation of nursing records was explained (F=172.31, p<.001). Conclusions : In this study, safety care activity was the most influencing factor for the documentation of nursing records. Improving work circumstances and building a system are required for nurses' safety care activity to lead to good documentation of nursing records.
