Automatic grease lubricator is equipment that provides adequate amount of fresh grease constantly to the shaft and the bearings of machines. It minimizes the friction heat and reduces the friction loss of machines to the least. This research is to develop automatic grease lubricator by gear driven mechanism with controlled operation time. The ultimate design of this equipment is to lubricate an adequate amount of grease by a simple switch clicking according to the advanced set cycle. The backlash of the gear was minimized to increase the output power. To increase the power of gear mechanism, the binding frequency and the thickness of the coil were changed. To control the rotating cycles of the main shaft according to its set numbers, different resistance and chips were used to design the circuit to controls electrical signals with pulse. The body of the lubricator was analyzed by stress analysis with different constructed angle. The stress analysis for differing loading pressures applied to the exterior body of grease lubricator due to the setup angle, was found that the maximum stress was distributed over the outlet part where the grease lubricator suddenly narrowed contracts. Digital mock-up was analyzed and the rapid prototyping(RP) trial products were tested with PCB circuit and grease. The evaluation of the outlet capacity for RP trial products was conducted, because the friction caused by the outlet on the wall surface was an important factor in the operation of the equipment. Finally, the finishing process was applied to decrease the roughness of the surface to a comparable level and was able to test the performance examination for the product.
The purpose of this study was twofold : first, to reduce as much as possible the shaking moments of the crank-type transplanting mechanism of walking-type rice transplanters, and second, to evaluate whether or not a crank-type transplanting mechanism, if its shaking moment is reduced, can be used in riding-type transplanters for high speed transplanting operations. For these purposes, kinematic and force analyses of the currently available crank-type transplanting mechanisms were made and their results were compared with those observed by experimentation. The degree of shaking moment effect was also estimated Various efforts to minimize the shaking moments led to the development of a crank-type mechanism with a balancing gear, in which an eccentric balancing gear is combined into the driven link axis. Analysis of the developed mechanism showed that about 20% of the shaking energy can be reduced and about 40% of reduction in peak shaking moment can be obtained when comparing with those obtained without the balancing gear. It was concluded that crank-type transplanting mechanisms can be used for high speed operations with a forward speed of 0.9-1.2m/s if the balancing gear is additionally mounted. However, further considerations must be made to solve the space constraints in relation to the structural frame of riding type of rice transplanters.

An automatic grease lubricator provides an adequate amount of fresh grease constantly to any type of rotating machine to minimize friction heat and reduce friction loss. This study seeks to develop an automatic grease lubricator by means of rapid prototyping with a gear-driven mechanism and a controlled operation time. The ultimate design is to lubricate an adequate amount of grease by a simple dip-switch clicking mechanism according to an advanced set cycle. The backlash of the gear was minimized to increase the power, and to increase the power of the mechanism, the binding frequency and the thickness of the coil were changed. To control the rotation cycles of the main shaft according to certain set numbers, different resistances and chips were used in the design of the circuit which controls the electrical signals via a pulse. A digital mock-up was analyzed and the rapid prototyping (RP) trial products were tested with a PCB circuit and grease. An evaluation of the outlet capacity of RP trial products was conducted, as the friction caused by the outlet on the wall surface was an important factor in the operation of the equipment. Finally, a finishing process was applied to decrease the roughness of a surface to a comparable level to test the performance of the product.
Unstable torsional vibration on the marine ship's propulsion shafting system with diesel engine occurred due to a slippage of multi-friction clutch which was installed between increasing gear and shaft generator. In this paper, the mechanism of this vibration was verified via torsional, whirling, axial and structural vibration measurements of shafting system and noise measurement of gear box. And it was also identified by the theoretical analysis method.
In order to develop a human hand mechanism, a 5-bar finger with redundant actuation is designed and implemented. an optimal set of acutator locations and link lengths for the case of one redundant actuator is obtained by employing a composite design index which simulataneously consider several performance indices such as workspace, isotropic index, and force transmission ratio. Each joing is driven by an compact actuator mechanism having ultrasonic motor and a gear set with poeneiometer an controlled by VME Bus-based control system.

This paper proposes a new concept of a soft and wearable upper-limb exoskeleton. A novel actuation principle, called the twisted string actuation principle, is implemented to make it lightweight, soft, and therefore easily wearable. Its power transmission mechanism and harness are designed to be soft and wearable, yet have enough control accuracy for rehabilitation. In addition to force transmission optimization, a speed enlargement mechanism is newly introduced in order to increase the contraction speed of the twisted string actuation mechanism by sacrificing the unnecessarily large gear reduction ratio of the twisted string mechanism. A prototype has been tested for mirroring therapy, and the feasibility of the proposed mechanism has been shown through a sufficiently accurate tracking performance.
We developed a new type of human-sized BWR (biped walking robot), named KUBIR1 which is driven by the closed-chain type of actuator. A new type of the closed-chain actuator for the robot is developed, which is composed of the four-bar-link mechanism driven by the ball screw which has high strength and high gear ratio. Each leg of the robot is composed of 6 D.O.F joints. For front walking, three pitch joints and one roll joint at the ankle. In addition to this, one yaw joint for direction change, and another roll joint for balancing the body are attached. Also, the robot has two D.O.F joints of each hand and three D.O.F. for eye motion. There are three actuating motors for stereo cameras for eyes. In all, a 18 degree-of-freedom robot was developed. KUBIR1 was designed to walk autonomously by adapting small 90W DC motors as the robot actuators and batteries and controllers are on-boarded. The whole weight for Kubir1 is over 90Kg, and height is 167Cm. In the paper, the performance test of KUBIR1 will be shown.

The conventional actuators with the speed reducer had weakness in supporting the weight of the body and leg itself. To overcome this, a new four bar link mechanism actuated by the ball screw was proposed. The four bar mechanism has higher strength and gear ratio than the conventional actuator to actutate the leg of the biped robot. One leg was designed to have ankle, thigh, and hip joints. The kinematics and dynamics of one leg with four bar link mechanism was analyzed using Euler-Lagrange approach. The dynamics of one leg was expressed in the ball strew frame.

We developed a new type of human-sized BWR (biped walking robot) driven by a new actuator based on the ball screw which has high strength and high gear ratio. Each leg of the robot is composed of three pitch joints and one roll joint. In all, a 10 degree-of-freedom robot with two balancing joints was developed. A new type of actuator for the robot is proposed, which is composed of four bar link mechanism driven by the ball screw. The robot overcomes the limit of the driving torque of conventional BWRs. The BWR was designed to walk autonomously by adapting small DC motors for the robot actuators and has a space to board DC battery and controllers. In the performance test, the BWR performed sitting-up and down motion, and walking motion. Through the test, we found the possibility of a high performance biped-walking.
