이륜자동차의 대기오염물질 배출계수 산정을 위한 연구 (Estimation of Air Pollutant Emission Factors for Motorcycle)

  • While increased use of motor cycles in the recent years for various demands could worsen air quality, only few studies have been conducted on estimation of emission factors and characterization of emissions from motorcycle. In this study, emissions from selected six models of motorcycle based on largest market share and production rate were investigated. To investigate gaseous and carbonaceous air pollutants, such as carbon monoxide (CO), total hydrocarbon (THC), nitrogen oxide ($NO_x$), elemental carbon (EC) and organic carbon (OC), total 124 motorcycles between 2003 and 2007 model year were tested with regulatory driving conditions, such as CVS-40 and CVS-47 mode. These motorcycles were further sub-categorized based on their displacement (< 50 cc, 50~150 cc, and $\geq$ 150 cc), type of stroke (2- and 4 strokes) and model year (2003~2005 and 2006~2007). Tested motorcycles with recent model year (2006~2007) exhibited less emissions of regulatory gaseous and carbonaceous air pollutants compared to old model year (2003~2005). Chemical analysis showed that CO present in highest concentration followed by THC and $NO_x$ for all tested motorcycles. Interestingly, two strokes motorcycle produced higher THC emission but less CO and $NO_x$ than those of four strokes. For all types of displacement and stroke, emission factors (gram per kilometer) of THC and CO except $NO_x$ with recent model year (2006~2007) showed decreased trend compared to old model year (2003~2005). In addition to this, due to mixed combustion between gasoline fuel and lubricant, two strokes motorcycle showed OC > EC emission trend.

Spillaus에 의하여 Bathythermograph가 고안된 이내 현재까지 수차 개량된 것이 제작판매하게 되어 해양조사 또는 어장탐색에 총중한 측기로 세계 각국에서 널리 보급되었다. 이 측기는 항해중이라도 수심 270m까지 내렸다 올림으로써 수심에 대한 수온이 동시에 연속된 일선으로 도은 또는 Smoked한 유리 판상에 기록되어 신속하게 수온의 미세한 수직분포를 알 수 있어 어장탐사에 필요한 나층의 판별과 그 수탐 및 수온의 판단에 큰 도움을 준다. 여기에서는 1, 2연전 이내 수산진흥원 산하 각 해구 시험소 및 교육기관을 비롯한 해양조사 관계기관에 다수양이 공급되어 널리 사용되고 있는 B.T의 Smoked-glass slide가 없어 사용의 곤란성 및 일본 또는 미국으로부터의 수입의 귀찮은 수속을 해소시키기 위하여 본원에서 실험 제작사용한 결과로서 간단하게 B.T Smoked glass Slide를 제작할 수 있는 방법을 소개하고자 한다.

전자 수용체가 BTEX, MTBE로 오염된 토양의 혐기성 자연정화에 미치는 영향 (Effect of Electron Acceptors on the Anaerobic Biodegradation of BTEX and MTBE at Contaminated Sites)

  • Methyl tert-butyl ether (MTBE) contamination in groundwater often coexists with benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene, and xylene (BTEX) near the source of the plume. Then, groundwater contamination problems have been developed in areas where the chemical is used. Common sources of water contamination by BTEX and MTBE include leaking underground gasoline storage tanks and leaks and spills from above ground fuel storage tanks, etc. In oil-contaminated environments, anaerobic biodegradation of BTEX and MTBE depended on the concentration and distribution of terminal electron acceptor. In this study, effect of electron acceptor on the anaerobic biodegradation for BTEX and MTBE-contaminated soil was investigated. This study showed the anaerobic biodegradation of BTEX and MTBE in two different soils by using nitrate reduction, ferric iron reduction and sulfate reduction. The soil samples from the two fields were enriched for 65 days by providing BTEX and MTBE as a sole carbon source and nitrate, sulfate or iron as a terminal electron acceptor. This study clearly shows that degradation rate of BTEX and MTBE with electron acceptors is higher than that without electron acceptors. Degradation rate of Ethylbenzene and Xylene is higher than that of Benxene, Toluene, and MTBE. In case of Benzene, Ethylbenzene, and MTBE, nitrate has more activation. In case of Toluene and Xylene, sulfate has more activation.

12wt% Co 담지 FT 촉매 제조시 유기용매가 촉매활성에 미치는 영향연구 (The Effect of Organic Solvents on the Activity for the Synthesis of 12wt% Co-based FT Catalyst)

  • The synthesis of Fischer-Tropsch (FT) oil is the catalytic hydrogenation of CO to give a range of products, which can be used for the production of high-quality diesel fuel, gasoline and linear chemicals. This studied catalyst was prepared Cobalt-supported alumina and silica by the incipient wet impregnation of the nitrates of cobalt, promoter and organic solvent with supports. Cobalt catalysts were calcined at $350^{\circ}C$ before being loaded into the FT reactors. After the reduction of catalyst has been carried out under $450^{\circ}C$ for 24h, FT reaction of the catalyst has been carried out at GHSV of 4,000/hr under $200^{\circ}C$ and 20atm. From these experimental results, we have obtained the results as following; In case of $SiO_2$ catalysts, the activity of 12wt% $Cobalt-SiO_2$ synthesized by organic solvent was about 2 or 3 times higher than the activity of 12wt% $Cobalt-SiO_2$ catalyst synthesized without organic solvent. In particular, the activity of the $Cobalt-SiO_2$ catalyst prepared in the presence of an organic solvent P was two to three times higher than that of the $Cobalt-SiO_2$ catalyst prepared without the organic solvent. Effect of Cr and Cu metal as a promoter was found little. 200 h long-term activity test was performed with a $Co/SiO_2$ catalyst prepared in the presence of an organic solvent of Glyoxal solution.

Our cobalt catalyst was prepared Co/alumina, Co/silica and Co/titania by the incipient wetness impregnation of the nitrates of cobalt with supports. Co-based catalysts was calcined at $400^{\circ}C$ before being loaded into the FT reactors. After the reduction of catalyst has carried out under $450^{\circ}C$, FT reaction of the catalyst has carried out at GHSV of 4,000 under $200^{\circ}C$ and 20atm. From test results, the order of increasing activity for the catalyst was Co/alumina > Co/silica > Co/titania. When the content of Co metal such as 5, 12, 20 and 30wt% was changed, an CO conversion increased as the content of Co metal increased. The activity of catalyst has obtained the best value at 12wt% Co content.

  • 바이오가스는 유기물의 혐기소화과정에서 생기는 부산물로 열에너지와 전기에너지로 사용되어왔다. 바이오디젤생산의 반응물과 연료로 사용되고 있는 메탄올의 수요는 꾸준히 증가하고 있다. 본 총설에서는 메탄올을 메탄올로 전환하는 직접부분산화법의 최근 발전 동향을 간략한 메탄올합성의 역사와 함께 다루었으며, 산업 규모에서 주로 사용되고 있는 증기개질반응과 현재 연구단계에서 발전하고 있는 촉매산화법을 비교하였다. 이 총설에서는 바이오가스로부터 메탄올전환의 가능성이 기술적인 측면과 경제적 실용성 면에서 제시되었다.

  • Recently, controlled auto ignition(CAI) in gasoline engines are drawing more attentions due to its extremely low level of NOx emissions and potentials in lowering the fuel consumption rate. The one of the key techniques for realizing CAI combustion in engines is the control of valve system. Since the valve linkage system with higher complexity, or even earn-less valve systems, such as electro-hydraulic and electro-magnetic system, are adopted in CAI engines, it is not easy to estimate the valve lift profile from earn profiles. Therefore new measurement techniques for valve lift in CAI engines have been tried and tested. In this paper, hole type valve lift sensor was developed and tested to check the applicability in CAI engines. The valve lifts could be obtained from the sensor signal, which depends on the distance from the sensor to magnet attached to valve. Various engine speeds, ranging from 2,000 to 6,000 rpm, and valve lifts, maximum up to 9.7 mm, were tested. It was found that the sensor output for valve lift had accuracy of 98% in comparison with the basic specifications of valve lift through improvements of sensor driving circuit.

디젤연료의 액면화재로부터 화염온도와 복사열 측정 (Measurements of Flame Temperature and Radiation Heat Flux from Pool Fire with Petroleum Diesel Fuel)

  • 석유류 중에서도 차량, 선박, 보일러 등에 많이 사용되고 있는 디젤유는 휘발유나 등유보다도 연소시에 발열량이 높기 때문에, 화재 발생시에 큰 피해를 초래한다. 따라서 본 연구는 시중에 판매중인 디젤유을 이용하여 액면화재 실험을 하였으며, 연소시에 화염의 내부온도와 화염으로부터 발생되는 복사열에 대해서 측정하였다. 디젤유의 순간 최대화염온도는 $900^{\circ}C$ 이상되는 것으로 나타났으며, 평균 최대화염온도는 $800^{\circ}C$ 이상으로 나타났다. 또한 최대화염온도는 가연성 액체의 표면으로부터 5 H/D에서 나타났으며, 이 거리 보다 멀어질 수로 화염의 온도는 낮아졌다. 복사열의 경우 저장용기의 크기와 시료의 량에 따라서 크게 달라지는 것을 알 수 있었으며, 실험 용기의 크기가 0.5 m이고, 시료량이 13 mm와 20 mm에서는 각각 92.29 kW와 117.43 kW로 나타났으며, 크기가 1.0 m의 용기에서는 각각 364.35 kW와 405.88 kW로 나타났다.

엔진 폐열 회수를 위한 랭킨 스팀 사이클 설계 및 HT Boiler의 성능 평가 (Design of Rankine Steam Cycle and Performance Evaluation of HT Boiler for Engine Waste Heat Recovery)

  • A dual loop waste heat recovery system with Rankine steam cycles for the improvement of fuel efficiency of gasoline vehicles has been investigated. A high temperature loop (HT loop) only recovers the heat of the exhaust gas. A low temperature loop (LT loop) recovers the residual heat from the HT loop, the coolant heat and the remaining exhaust gas heat. The two separate loops are coupled with a heat exchanger. This paper has dealt with a layout of the dual loop system, the review of the working fluids, and the design of the cycle. The design point and the target heat recovery of the HT boiler, a core part of a HT loop, have been presented. The prototype of the HT boiler was evaluated by experiment. For the performance evaluation of the HT boiler, inlet temperature of the HT boiler working fluid was set equal to the temperature degree of sub-cool of $5^{\circ}C$ at the condensing pressure. The exit condition was the degree of super-heat set at $5^{\circ}C$. The characteristics of the HT boiler such as heat recovery and pressure drops of fluids were evaluated with varying flow rates and inlet temperatures of exhaust gas under various evaporating pressure conditions.

  • A 2-loop waste heat recovery system with Rankine steam cycles for the improvement of fuel efficiency of gasoline vehicles has been investigated. A high temperature loop(HT loop) is a system to recover the waste heat from the exhaust gas, a low temperature loop(LT loop) is for heat recovery from the engine coolant cold relatively. This paper has dealt with a layout of a LT loop system, the review of the working fluids, and the design of the cycle. The design point and the target heat recovery of the LT boiler, a core part of a LT loop, has been presented and analytically investigated. Considering the characteristics of the cycle, the basic concept of the LT boiler has been determined as a shell-and tube type counterflow heat exchanger, the performance characteristics for various design parameters were investigated.
