Objectives: We would like to report improvement in symptoms after performing Korean Medicine treatment including Gamiboik-tang administration to patient with presbystasis that lasts for more than a decade. Methods: An 83-year-old male patient diagnosed with presbystasis was administered Gamiboik-tang for 4 weeks and acupuncture was performed. The degree of improvement is evaluated based on the body balance test and the patient's subjective symptom change. Results: Both the body balance test and the patient's subjective symptoms improved after administration of Gamiboik-tang and Korean Medicine treatment Conclusions: Korean Medicine treatment, including Gamiboik-tang administration and acupuncture treatment, is thought to be effective for presbystasis.

Objectives : I report 12 cases of strabismus presented at [Oriental Medical Clinic of Kim Joong-Ho and Strabismus - Amblyopia Clinic, East-West Neo Medical Center, Kyung Hee University] from 2nd March 2006 to 29th February 2008. All have experienced good improvement of strabismus by treatment with Oriental medicine. Methods : Patients were treated with acupuncture, infra-red and herb medicine. The acupuncture points of (B2) 絲竹空(TE23) 承泣(S1) 陽白(G14) 太陽(E36) were mainly used. Herb medicines prescribed were Gagamseunggal-tang and Gamiboik-tang. Results : 9 cases of strabismus were caused by paralysis of the sixth cranial nerve and the third cranial nerve, while 3 cases happened with concomitant strabismus of esotropia and exotropia. They were treated to recover paralytic muscles and unelastic muscles around the eyes and face. Treatment took between 1 and 8 months. Conclusions : In the results of this study, treatment was effective to correct position at the eyeball. I report it is possible to treat strabismus successfully with Oriental medicine in a shorter time compared to western medicine.

Objective : The purpose of this study is to report that the effect of Korean medical treatments on Miller-Fisher Syndrome with ophtalmoplegia and facial palsy. Methods : We treated a 69-year-old female diagnosed with Miller-Fisher syndrome with ophthalmoplegia, right facial palsy and other symptoms. She received Korean medical treatments such as herbal medicine(Gamiboik-tang), cupping therapy and acupuncture(including pharmacopuncture). The severity of ophthalmoplegia was evaluated by length of the eyeball movement and Scott and Kraft score. The severity of facial palsy was evaluated by Yanagihara score and the severity of other symptoms such as diplopia, dizziness, gait disturbance and neck&shoulder pain was evaluated by VAS. Results : Each neurological symptoms were improved after Korean medical treatments. In case of ophthalmop legia, Scott and Kraft score increase from -4 to 0. There were no restrictions on eye movements. In case of facial palsy, Yanagihara score increased from 10 to 40. Also, other symptoms such as diplopia, dizziness, gait disturbance and neck&shoulder pain was improved. Conclusions : This case report suggests that Korean medical treatments can be effective for Miller-Fisher Syndrome patient with Ophthalmoplegia and Facial Palsy.
