BCI (Brain-Computer Interface) is a way to control computer by using the human brain waves. As the hardware using brain wave technologies has developed, former expensive and big sized brain wave measuring devices have recently become much smaller and cheaper in their prices, making it possible for the individuals to buy them. This predicts them to be applied in various fields of multimedia industry. This thesis is to give an insight into whether the BCI device can be used as a new gaming device approaching it in a game designing point of view. At first, we proposed game play elements that can effectively utilizing the BCI devices, systematize, and produced a game prototype adopting the BCI device based on such game play elements. Next, we verified it with statistical data analysis to show that the prototype adopting the BCI device gives more clear and efficient controls in its game play than a game of only adopting keyboard & mouse devices and analysis verified that BCI-based game play elements provide users with a more intuitive and interesting experience than traditional non-BcI-based game play elements. The results will give a guideline for effective game design methodology for making BCI based games.
As virtual reality technology has gained popularity from people, various contents have appeared. Virtual reality game making good use of virtual reality device has received lots of attention from users and market. A number of virtual reality games have been developed. Virtual reality game allows users to feel presence and flow to be maximized through virtual reality device. A user can interact with several items through interface of device in display environment of virtual reality. This study was find a way to arouse an interest and induce users to be immersed in virtual reality game by maximizing above mentioned characteristics. This study was analyze interaction items in popular virtual reality game and interface design methods before presenting design methods. This study was make a comparative analysis of interface design methods centering on virtual reality game cases and examine a link between interface and interaction items. Through this study, it is expected that this will be a prior study that will be the basis for designing interfaces for virtual reality games that are more presence.
The present study analyzed the KOCCA's Game Immersion data to explore the relationship between psychological traits and game immersion. Psychological traits were classified into four categories; emotional stability, self-esteem, willpower, and happiness. These were put into the multiple regression analysis as the dependent variables with age, sex (dummy), economic status of the homes, variety of leisure activities, friend and family relationship, and time to play games. Four types of immersion (psychological unstability, bad relationship, interrupted daily lives, and failure to control game time and desire) were put into the multiple regression analysis as the independent variables. The multiple regression analysis indicated that the dependent variables predicted the game immersion. Among the psychological traits emotional stability was the strongest factor (negative) that influences the game immersion. Next powerful indicator (negative) among the psychological traits was self-esteem. Based on the findings, measures to alleviate the problems of game immersion and ideas for further research were suggested.

A new field of e-sports gains the great popularity in Korea as well as abroad. AOS (aeon of strife) genre games are quickly gaining popularity with gamers from all over the world and the game companies hold game competitions. The e-sports broadcasting teams and webzines use a variety of statistical indicators. In this paper, as an AOS genre game, League of Legends game data is used for statistical analysis using the indicators to predict the outcome. We develop new indicators with the factor analysis to improve existing indicators. Also we consider discriminant function, neural network model, and SVM (support vector machine) for make winning forecasting models. As a result, the new position indicators reflect the nature of the role in the game and winning forecasting models show more than 95 percent accuracy.
The purpose of this paper is to study the sensitivity analysis in the matrix game. The third type sensitivity analysis is defined as finding the characteristic region of an element of the payoff matrix in which the set of current active strategies is preserved. First by using the relationship between matrix game and linear programming, we induce the conditions which must be satisfied for preserving the set of current active strategies. Second we show the characteristic regions of active and inactive strategy. It is found that the characteristic regions we suggests in this paper are same with that of the type one sensitivity analysis suggested by Sung[3] except only one case.

We propose guidance laws based on a pursuit-evasion game. The game solutions are obtained from a pursuit-evasion game solver developed by the authors. We introduce a direct method to solve planar pursuit-evasion games with control variable constraints in which the game solution is sought by iteration of the update and correction steps. The initial value of the game solution is used for guidance of the evader and the pursuer, and then the pursuit-evasion game is solved again at the next time step. In this respect, the proposed guidance laws are similar to the approach of model predictive control. The proposed guidance method is compared to proportional navigation guidance for a pursuit-evasion scenario in which the evader always tries to maximize the capture time. The capture sets of the two guidance methods are demonstrated.
The pervasive game environments have activated explosive growth of the Internet over recent decades. Thus, understanding Internet traffic characteristics and precise classification have become important issues in network management, resource provisioning, and game application development. Naturally, much attention has been given to analyzing and modeling game traffic. Little research, however, has been undertaken on the classification of game traffic. In this paper, we perform an interpretive traffic analysis of popular game applications at the transport layer and propose a new classification method based on a simple decision tree, called an alternative decision tree (ADT), which utilizes the statistical traffic characteristics of game applications. Experimental results show that ADT precisely classifies game traffic from other application traffic types with limited traffic features and a small number of packets, while maintaining low complexity by utilizing a simple decision tree.

With the rapid adoption of 5G, the gaming industry has undergone significant innovation, with the quality of game content and player experience becoming the focal point of attention. ZBrush, as a professional digital sculpting software, plays a crucial role in the production of 3D game models. In this paper, we explore the application methods and techniques of ZBrush in game weapons production through specific case analyses. We provide a detailed analysis of two game weapon models, discussing the design and modeling process, lowto-high poly conversion, UV unwrapping and texture baking, material texture creation and optimization, and final rendering. By comparing the production process and analyzing the advantages and disadvantages of ZBrush, we establish a theoretical foundation for further design research and provide reference materials for game industry professionals, aiming to achieve higher quality and efficiency in 3D game model production.
Digital games have become a major part of the modern popular culture, but little attention has been paid to understanding the textuality of games and what the game texts have the cultural meanings. As the games develop, however, the academic and journalistic game critiques and reviews that try to understand and to deconstruct the game texts are on the rise. This study explores how the game criticism characterizes the game texts, creates and shapes the understanding of games. The finding shows that game criticism is rich and varied in terms of themes and approaches covered, more generally, games criticism can also help preserve game history by focusing on the distinctive game textuality, forms and meanings, and by contextualizing the links and cultural meanings that exist between games and between games and the cultural context.

Many studies have focused on the influences and outcomes of online game addiction. However, few studies have investigated how the online game addiction prevention behavior differs depending on online game user. In order to fill this gap, this study attempts to classify online game users based on risk perception attitude (RPA) framework. More specifically, this research tries to show online game user can be classified into four groups based on perceived risk of online game addiction and efficacy beliefs of online game addiction protection, and to identify how the groups differ in terms of motivation, information seeking, and behaviors for online game addiction prevention. For this purpose, analysis on survey data from 240 Korean college students who use online game reveals that the users can be classified into responsive, avoidance, proactive, indifference groups. Furthermore, there are differences between groups in terms of motivation, information seeking, and behaviors for online game addiction prevention. This study contributes to expand existing literature by providing tailored guidelines for implementation of online game addiction prevention strategies and policy.
