Mutants of plasmid pKM101 modified to enhance mutagenesis were induced and characterized in Salmonella typhimurium. The pKM101 mutant plasmid were transferred normally and stably maintained in cells. They had modified in their ability (i) to enhance the reversion of both point and frameshift mutations, (ii) to protect the cell against UV-irradiation and chemical mutagen treatment, (iii) of ampicillin resistance. A similar modification in enhancement of reversion was also observed in a $uvrB^-$ strains. These results indicated that mutator effect of pKM101 was coded by one plasmid gene.

A total of 100 Corynebacterial clones exerting a regulatory effect on the aceB promoter of Corynebacterium glutamicum were isolated by utilizing a reporter carrying the enteric lacZ gene fused to the promoter. The isolated clones were classified into 3 groups of A, B, and C, according to their color of colonies. Escherichia coli cells carrying clones in groups A and B showed a $90\%\;and\;50\%$ reduction in ${\beta}$-galactosidase activity, respectively. The introduction of group A clones into C. glutamicum also resulted in an almost complete reduction in the expression of the aceA and aceB genes, suggesting that the clones express repressor-like proteins for the genes. Although white colonies were formed on plates containing X-gal, E. coli cells carrying one of the clones in group C exhibited intact ${\beta}$-galactosidase activity. The result suggests that the clone may encode proteins that prevent the cells from accumulating the chromogenic compound, X-gal.

This study was surveyed the preference for the regional food and food choices according to Region, Age, Sex. The subjects were 943 residing in Seoul and Cheon Nam region. The summarized result are as follows; The survey about the preference for the regional food showed that subjects in Cheon Nam has higher preference for the Cheon Nam food and subjects in Seoul for the Seoul food respectively. The most subjects marked very high preference scores about familiar food. The preference for the regional food and food choices were effected by main growth region. Subjects brought up in Cheon Nam like Cheon Nam food especially fresh raw fishes(WHOI) and fermented fishes(CHOT GAL) more than those brought up in Seoul, although both of them reside in Seoul now. But they were brought up in Cheon Nam, subjects residing in Cheon Nam or Seoul now showed no difference in preference for Cheon Nam food. Subjects in Cheon Nam showed higher preperence for fresh raw fishes(WHOI), fermented fishes(CHOT GAL), especially in older men.

This paper presents an experimental study on a 1/2 scale steel frame with archaized-style under the pseudo-dynamic loading. Four seismic waves, including El Centro wave, Taft wave, Lanzhou wave and Wenchuan wave, were input during the test. The hysteresis characteristic, energy dissipation acceleration response, displacement response, strength, stiffness and strain were analyzed. Based on the experiment, the elastoplastic dynamic time-history analysis was carried out with the software ABAQUS. The stress distribution and failure mode were obtained. The results indicate that the steel frame with archaized-style was in elastic stage when the peak acceleration of input wave was no more than 400 gal. Under Wenchuan wave with peak acceleration of 620 gal, the steel frame enters into the elastoplastic stage, the maximum inter-story drift was 1/203 and the bearing capacity still tended to increase. During the loading process, Dou-Gong yielded first and played the role of the first seismic fortification line, and then beam ends and column bottom ends yielded in turn. The steel frame with archaized-style has good seismic performance and meets the seismic design requirement of Chinese code.

Although anti-aging activities of melatonin, a hormone secreted by the pineal gland, have been reported in senescence-accelerated mouse models and several types of cells, its impact and mechanism on the senescence of human dental pulp cells (HDPCs) remains unknown. In this study, we examined the impact of melatonin on cellular premature senescence of HDPCs. Here, we found that melatonin markedly inhibited senescent characteristics of HDPCs after exposure to hydrogen peroxide ($H_2O_2$), including the increase in senescence-associated ${\beta}$-galactosidase (SA-${\beta}$-gal)-positive HDPCs and the upregulation of p21 protein, an indicator for senescence. In addition, as melatonin attenuated $H_2O_2$-stimulated phosphorylation of c-Jun N-terminal kinase (JNK), while selective inhibition of JNK activity with SP600125 significantly attenuated $H_2O_2$-induced increase in SA-beta-gal activity. Results reveal that melatonin antagonizes premature senescence of HDPCs via JNK pathway. Thus, melatonin may have therapeutic potential to prevent stress-induced premature senescence, possibly correlated with development of dental pulp diseases, and to maintain oral health across the life span.

The aim of this paper is to obtain several results in approximation by Jackson-type generalizations of complex Picard, Poisson-Cauchy and Gauss-Weierstrass singular integrals in terms of higher order moduli of smoothness. In addition, these generalized integrals preserve some sufficient conditions for starlikeness and univalence of analytic functions. Also approximation results for vector-valued functions defined on the unit disk are given.

On the foundation work of Po-Ryong power plant #3 & #4. It was 30meters away from the running states of #1 & #2 plant site. In order to protect the #1 & #2 power plant facilities & factory structure. Allowable vibration was required below 0.07 gal. Therefore, it had to set up the anti-vibration trench to reduce the vibration reference and secondary. I applied the low gravity and low velocity explosives with M/S delay caps by cautious blasting pattern.
