HFC32 냉매를 사용한 지열원 히트펌프의 성능 특성 (Performance of the Geothermal Heat Pump Using HFC32 Refrigerant)

  • Air conditioners adopting high energy efficiency and low global warming potential (GWP) refrigerant are being developed globally. In case of commercial air conditioner, R32 with lower GWP than R410A is attracting industrial attentions. In this study, the performance of water-to-water geothermal heat pump adopting R32 is compared with that of the heat pump using R410A. By using R32 instead of R410A, heating capacity and COP in heating standard condition can be increased by 8.8% and 6.3% respectively. Also, cooling capacity and COP in cooling standard condition can be increased by 5.3% and 3.1% respectively by using R32. But in case of using R32, systemic improvements are required to decrease discharge temperature of compressor since discharge temperature rises abnormally in heating operations.

  • This study investigates alternative refrigerants and refrigerant oils as well as the tendency of protecting the global environment in view of automobile air-conditioning systems. Since decades, the R12 refrigerant is not used in automobile air-conditioners because of the ozone depletion potential (ODP) problem, and for the last 20 years, the ODP-free R134a refrigerant is leading the new automotive air-conditioning market. However, owing to its high global warming potential (GWP), the R134a refrigerant use in automobile air-conditioning system is also prohibited by law, and alternative refrigerants with a low GWP need to be proposed. Therefore, recently, the application of R1234yf, R152a, or other alternative refrigerants has started worldwide. By contrast, natural refrigerant R744 was introduced in the market several years ago by VDA (Verband Der Automobilindustrie), which is a German association in the automotive industry. This study also deals with refrigerant oils. For a long time, polyalkylene glycol (PAG) oil has been traditionally used with automobile air-conditioners, and polyolester (POE) oil is suitable for HEV, PHEV, and EV air-conditioning systems, where it is used by the electrically driven compressor owing to its excellent electrical insulation properties. Finally, PAG is an excellent lubricant for all the R134a, R152a, R1234yf, and R744 refrigerants, and has the advantage that it can be applied rapidly to alternative refrigerant air-conditioning systems.

저온용 대체냉매의 성능 특성 연구 (Performance Characteristics Study on an Alternative Refrigerant in Low Temperature Applications)

  • This paper presents the results of thermodynamic cycle analysis and performance tests of alternative mixtures in low temperature applications. Two near-azeotropic binary mixtures R-152a/R-1270 (35:65 by wt.%) and R-290/E170 (35:65 by wt.%) are considered in this study. They have zero ODP (Ozone Depletion Potential) and much lower GWP (Global Warming Potential) than R-404A which is an alternative of R-502. Refrigeration cycle characteristics such as cooling capacity, coefficient of performance, suction and discharge pressures and temperatures are compared to those for the baseline refrigerants (R-502 and R-404A) cycles. The performance tests are conducted at the evaporation and condensation temperatures of $5^{\circ}C$ and $45^{\circ}C$, subcooling and superheating temperatures of $5^{\circ}C$, respectively. Performance comparisons between baseline and alternative refrigerants are conducted on the same cooling capacity. The system performance of newly proposed refrigerant mixtures show promising results.

전과정평가 기법에 기반한 고층구조시스템의 환경영향특성 분석 (Environmental Impact Characteristics Analysis of High-rise Structural System Based on Life Cycle Assessment)

  • Recently, the construction of tall buildings utilized by high strength-concrete in the whole world is tending to be on the rise. The application of high-rise structural system in buildings results in the excellent cut-down effect in construction materials due to section reduction. Therefore, in order to investigate the CO2 and resource reduction effect for the high-rise structural system, comparisons of GWP and ADP in embodied energy of structural materlais between 4 type of high-rise structural system have been performed. As a result, GWP emission increased in the order of steel structure outrigger system, RC shear wall system, and RC outrigger system. On the other hand, ADP emissions increased in the order of RC shear wall system, RC outrigger system, and steel structure outrigger system.

전과정 분석을 통한 자동차엔진 재제조시 온실가스 저감효과 분석 (An Analysis of Greenhouse Gas Reduction effect of Automotive Engine Re-manufacturing throug Whole Process Analysis)

  • 본 연구에서는 자동차엔진의 신품제조시와 재제조시 발생하는 환경영향을 전과정 관점에서 산정하고 이를 기반으로 온실가스 저감효과를 산정하였다. 자동차엔진 원부자재 원료취득 및 제조공정에서 배출되는 온실가스량은 신품제조시 약 3,473 kg, 재제조시 약 872 kg으로 재제조를 통해 저감되는 온실가스량은 약 2,601kg으로 나타나 폐기 단계를 제외한 전과정 측면에서 저감효과가 있는 것으로 분석되었다. LCA 가중화 분석 결과 신품 제조시 환경영향은 1.07E+03 Eco-point, 재제조시 2.67E+02 Eco-point로 나타났으며, 주요 6대 영향 범주 중 지구온난화 점유비율이 99.72%, 99.68%로 높게 나타났다.

  • Korea Global Atmosphere Watch Center (KGAWC), which is located in Anmyeondo and, belongs to the Korea Meteorological Administration (KMA), measures sulfur hexafluoride ($SF_6$) in every hour since 2007. In this study, $SF_6$ observed in 2007 are discussed. A gas chromatograph-electron capture detector (GC-ECD) with pre-cooled device is applied during the observation, and produced data are qualified by means of periodic calibration with $SF_6$ standard gas made by Korea Research Institute of Standard and Science (KRISS). $SF_6$ has been greatly paid attention since Kyoto protocol because of its high global warming potential(GWP) with 22,200 times of $CO_2$ in the period of 100 years. It is a man-made compound and has been usually used for gas insulation since 1970s and for etching process in the information technology-based industry since 1990. Average mixing ratio of $SF_6$ in 2007 was 6.65 pmol/mol at Anmyeondo. According to the GAW report published in 2008, average mixing ratio of $SF_6$ in the atmosphere is continuously growing. At present, the average mixing ratio of $SF_6$ in the atmosphere is known to be approximately 6.25 pmol/mol at global observatory. $SF_6$ value in Anmyeondo shows 0.40 pmol/mol greater than that of the Mauna Loa observatory in 2007.

착상조건에서 R134a와 R1234yf를 적용한 핀-관 형태의 증발기 성능 비교 (Performance Comparison of Fin-Tube Type Evaporator using R134a and R1234yf under the Frost Condition)

  • 식생활의 향상 및 다양화로 신선한 제품에 대한 요구가 증가하고 있으며, 이에 따라 냉장 및 냉동식품의 저온유통 또한 점차 증가되고 있다. 현재 냉동산업에는 주로 R134a 냉매가 사용되고 있으며 GWP(Global Warming Potential)가 1300으로써 매우 높아 지구온난화에 영향을 미친다. 이를 대체하기 위한 냉매로써 R1234yf 냉매가 있으며, GWP는 4로써 매우 낮다. 냉동탑차 냉장시스템에 사용되는 증발기는 저온조건에서 작동되기 때문에 서리가 형성되어 시스템의 성능을 급격히 감소시킨다. 따라서, 본 연구에서 R134a와 R1234yf 냉매를 작동유체로 사용한 증발기의 성능을 착상조건 하에서 다양한 운전조건으로 분석하였다. 해석결과, 서리성장 조건에서 공기측 입구온도, 상대습도, 증발온도 변화에 대하여 R134a 증발기의 성능이 R1234yf 증발기보다 더욱 민감하게 나타났으며 서리의 성장 또한 R134a 증발기가 더 크게 나타났다.

자동차 공조용 대체 냉매로서의 H냉매에 대한 연구 (A Study on the Fluid H in Automotive Air Conditioning System as an Alternative Refrigerant)

  • It is time to prepare the phaseout of R134a, the current refrigerant, in automotive air conditioning system because the EC deadline has been coming with new platform vehicles in 2011 and all vehicles by 2017. Until now a high-pressure carbon dioxide($CO_2$) system is the leading replacement of R134a in European auto-makers but there is no firm agreement in the world automotive market. Recently three new fluids have been announced as the possibilities from Honeywell, DuPont and INEOS Fluor. The new alternative refrigerant should meet the requirements like non flammable, non toxic, no ozone depletion effect and low GWP(under 150 to meet EC regulation). The objectives of this paper are to review the fluid H from Honeywell, the more possible alternative refrigerant in 3 new fluids, compare the properties of R134a & fluid H and see the possibility as a replacement of R134a. In this experimental paper we ran and reviewed the cooling performance data in the bench system, the vehicle and the field test. We found the possibility of fluid H system to meet the R134a system performance with some hardware modifications but agreed that it is still needed to study about the long term safety, environmental effects, material compatibilities and so on.

R290 냉매를 이용한 수소 충전소 냉각시스템 엑서지 분석 및 공정 최적화 (Exergy Analysis and Optimization of Chiller System in Hydrogen Fueling Station Using R290 Refrigerant)

  • During the hydrogen fueling process, hydrogen temperature inside the compressed tank were limited below 85℃ due to the allowable pressure of tank material. The chiller system to cool compressed hydrogen used R407C, greenhouse gas with a high global warming potential (GWP), as a refrigerant. To reduce greehouse gas emission, it should be replaced by refrigerant with a low GWP. This study proposes a chiller system for fueling hydrogen with R290, consisted in propane, by applying the C3 pre-cooled system use d in the LNG liquefaction process. The proposed system consisted of hydrogen compression and cooling sections and optimized the operating pressure through exergy analysis. It was also compared to the exergy efficiency with the existing system at the optimal operating pressure. The result showed that the optimal operating pressure is 700 kPa in 2-stage, 840 kPa/490 kPa in 3-stage, and the exergy efficiency increased by 17%.

반응온도 및 체류시간에 따른 아산화질소 열분해 효과 (Pyrolysis Effect of Nitrous Oxide Depending on Reaction Temperature and Residence Time)

  • 아산화질소(N2O, Nitrous Oxide)는 6대 온실가스 중 하나로 대기 중에서 적외선을 흡수하여 온실효과를 유발하는 것으로 알려져 있다. 특히 지구온난화지수(GWP)는 CO2에 비해 310배 높아 국내뿐만 아니라 전 세계적으로 이슈화되고 있으며, 그에 따른 강력한 환경 규제 강화법들이 발의되고 있다. N2O 저감 기술에는 물리적인 방식에 따라 농축회수, 촉매분해, 그리고 열분해로 구분할 수 있는데, 본 연구에서는 그 중 가장 효과적인 열분해 처리방식에 대해 논의하고자 일반적인 연소 조건 내 고온 열분해 방식을 이용하여 비용 저감과 함께 질소산화물을 저감시키는 온도 조건 및 반응 시간에 대한 정보를 제공하고자 한다. 열분해 조건으로 선정된 고온 영역은 1073 K부터 1373 K까지 100 K 간격을 두고 계산을 수행하였다. 1073 K과 1173 K의 온도조건에 경우, N2O 저감율과 일산화질소 농도가 체류시간에 따라 비례관계를 이루는 것이 관측되었으며, 1273 K에 경우, 체류시간이 증가함에 따라 발생되는 역반응으로 인해 N2O 저감율이 감소되는 것이 관측되었다. 특히 1373 K에 경우, 모든 체류시간에 대해 정반응과 역반응이 화학 평형상태에 도달하여 N2O 저감에 대한 반응진행율이 오히려 감소하는 것으로 확인되었다.
