지하공동구 화재예방활동 및 진압대책에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Fire Prevention Activities and Suppression Measures of Utility-Pipe Conduit)

  • 지하공동구는 도시 및 공동주택 단지에 반드시 필요한 전력, 통신, 가스, 송유관, 급 배수, 에너지시설 등을 효과적으로 수용하고 도시기반시설의 확장에 따라 파생되는 여러 가지의 문제점을 해결하기 위한 방안으로 시설물을 한곳으로 모아 유지 및 관리하는 시설이다. 지하공동구가 훼손될 경우 국가안보는 물론 사회전반에 미치는 파장이 지대하므로 화재예방 활동 및 진압대 책상 취약점 등을 분석하여 우리 실정에 맞는 방재 대책을 도출하여 공동구의 설계, 제도적인 문제, 방화시설의 문제, 화재확산현상 등을 분석하여 종합적인 화재위험을 분석하여 화재예방활동과 진압대책을 수립하여야 한다. 지하공동구는 밀폐 폐쇄된 공간이므로 산소공급 부족으로 인한 불완전 연소 등으로 농연, 일산화탄소 등 유독성연소생성물의 발생과 열기의 충만 및 시야장해로 진입이 곤란 하는 문제점이 있다. 이러한 현상은 지상화재보다는 지하 화재의 특수성에 비추어 볼 때 화재예방활동은 물론이고 소방전술에서 취약하므로 화재의 효율적인 소방전술이 되기 위해서는 화재의 특이성을 감안하여 유관기관에서는 현장대응 지휘체제를 확립하고, 대응기관에서는 평상시 공동구에 대한 구조파악과 필요한 각종 정보를 수집 기록하고 24시간 관리공조체제 유지 및 대응기관에서 가상종합훈련을 강화하여야하며 근본적으로 공동구내에 설치되어 있는 케이블의 난연화 불연화 및 연소 확대 방지를 위한 대책 등이 필요하다.

원전 노출 화재시 케이블 기능상실 온도에 관한 연구 (A Study on Cable Functional Failure Temperature by Exposed Fire in Nuclear Power Plants)

  • The fire event occurred in fire proof zone often causes serious electrical problems such as shorts, ground faults, or open circuits in nuclear power plants. These would be directed to the loss of safe shutdown capabilities performed by safety related systems and equipments The fire event can treat the basic design principle that safety systems should keep their functions with redundancy and independency. In case of a cable fire, operators can not perform their mission properly and can misjudge the situation because of spurious operation, wrong indication or instrument. These would deteriorate the plant capabilities of safety shutdown and make disastrous conditions. In this paper, the cables of the representative nuclear power plant in korea is selected and the cable functional failure temperature by exposed fire using Cable Response to Live Fire(CAROLFIRE) is studied. It is expected that the results are very useful to know the cable failure temperature by exposed fire. We confirmed the safety and integrity of the cable by exposed fire and those results will use the based data of cable exposed fire characteristics.

산불에 의한 열적상승유동 해석에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Model of Thermal Plume Flow in the Forest Fire)

  • A study is made of thermal plume flow model for the development of helicopter simulator over the forest fire. For the numerical analysis, a line fire model with Boussinesq fluid approximation, which is idealized by the spreading shape of forest fire on the ground, is adopted. Comparing full 2-D and 3-D numerical solutions with 2-D similarity solution, it has been built a new model that is useful for temperature prediction along the symmetric vertical axis of fire model for both cases of laminar and turbulent flow.

  • The MODIS Land Rapid Response System (RRS) has been developed to provide rapid access to MODIS data globally, with initial emphasis on 250 m color composite imagery and active fire data. Fire detection is based on a contextual algorithm that exploits the strong emission of mid-infrared radiation from fires. This algorithm examines each pixel of the MODIS swath, and ultimately assigns to each one of the following classes: missing data, cloud, water, non-fire, fire, or unknown. In this paper, we introduce the MODIS Rapid Response System established at the Korea Aerospace Research Institute (KARI) and present some application results for Korea using the direct broadcast data acquired at KARI ground station.

These things accumulate Fire inside humanbody through many ways. Fire, then, brings out many kinds of disease. How to treat Fire is important theme of the medicine. Liu Wansu studied Fire as a important pathogenic factor. He evolved his theory about the relationship between the Xuanfu(玄府)- the sweat, Six Qi, emotional disorder and the climate condition and Fire. He payed great efforts to diagnose accurately and treat the disease on the ground of the theory based on The Yellow Emperors‘ Internal classic.

  • In this forest fire experiment the ThermoViewer was set up on the platform built on a tree and observed the temperature change, before, during and after the fire. The fire experiment had been carried out not only the day of the forest fire experiment but also continued for four months after the forest fire had been gone. The results from the experiment showed that the temperature difference is significant in the afternoon; therefore, afternoon satellite passing is better and suitable time for active forest fires and burnt scars detection; moreover, after 83 days, the burnt and un-burnt vegetation become almost the same condition, fully regenerated and the temperature difference become nearly 0$^{\circ}$ Celsius, so there is not enough temperature different between burnt and un-burnt vegetation for current sensors to distinguish the difference anymore.

  • 65% of the Korean peninsula is composed of mountainous area, 97% of which is composed of forest. Therefore, there is high possibility of mountain fire because a lot of potential inflammables such as fallen leaves are stacked on the ground. Moreover, most of the overhead transmission lines in Korea are operated on the mountain. However, there has been very little study for the effect of mountain fire on polymeric insulator for transmission line, though the study is significantly required Therefore, in this study the authors observed the deformation of the housing of the insulator under fire with respect to the ignition time, using artificial ignition testing equipment, and investigated electrical and mechanical characteristics of the insulator by dry withstand voltage test, impulse flashover test and tensile load test.

  • 현재 국가기간망의 주요 핵심인프라시설로서 급격히 증가하고 있는 지하공동구의 화재발생에 따른 피해 및 그 영향이 심각함에 따라 국내외의 공동구 화재의 유형을 분석 후에 선진국의 공동구의 화재안전을 위한 성능기준을 국내의 성능과 비교하여 문제점을 발췌하였다. 발췌한 문제점에 나타난 핵심요소를 선진국과 비교하여 국내 공동구에 시급히 필요한 구비성능을 제시하되 국내의 공동구 관리운영 및 공동구에 수용되는 시설물의 설치기준에 적합한 방안을 연구하여 제시하였다.

Methodology for investigating the behavior of reinforced concrete structures subjected to post earthquake fire

  • Post earthquake fire (PEF) can lead to the collapse of buildings that are partially damaged in a prior ground-motion that occurred immediately before the fire. The majority of standards and codes for the design of structures against earthquake ignore the possibility of PEF and thus buildings designed with those codes could be too weak when subjected to a fire after an earthquake. An investigation based on sequential analysis inspired by FEMA356 is performed here on the Life-Safety performance level of structures designed to the ACI 318-08 code after they are subjected to two different earthquake levels with PGA of 0.35 g and 0.25 g. This is followed by a four-hour fire analysis of the weakened structure, from which the time it takes for the weakened structure to collapse is calculated. As a benchmark, the fire analysis is also performed for undamaged structure and before occurrence of earthquake. The results show that the vulnerability of structures increases dramatically when a previously damaged structure is exposed to PEF. The results also show the damaging effects of post earthquake fire are exacerbated when initiated from second and third floor. Whilst the investigation is for a certain class of structures (regular building, intermediate reinforced structure, 3 stories), the results confirm the need for the incorporation of post earthquake fire in the process of analysis and design and provides some quantitative measures on the level of associated effects.

화재진압 시 발생하는 주수 기둥의 저항분석 방법 연구 (A Study on the Method of Resistance Analysis of Water Stream During Fire Supperession)

  • Fire fighters are exposed to the risk of many accidents during fire suppression, especially near the high voltage circuit. In order to prevent and analyze the electric shock accidents, measurement of water resistance is crucial. However, this has been one of the overlooked research areas and it has been very difficult to measure the mixed up resistance components separately. In this paper, we measured a total resistance of apparatus and regarded it as a serial resistance of contact resistance and length dependant resistance. Measuring the resistance by varying the length of water stream, the variable resistance and fixed contact resistance appear, which are used to calculate the both components of resistances. In addition, the resistance of fire hose can be calculated from the parallel circuit which is formed by grounding the fire hose with the resistance of water stream. Results show that we can successfully measure the resistance per unit length of water stream and fire hose, thereby proving that this method is a facile way to measure water and fire hose resistance. However, many experiments are still required to obtain the precise contact resistance of ground under various condition and the resistance between the human body and fire hose.
