There are numerous adjustment techniques that deal with the adjustment of geodetic networks but the least squares adjustment is the most common one. During the network adjustment procedure two techniques can be used, the free network adjustment technique and the constrained network adjustment technique. In order to determine the optimum technique for adjusting the geodetic networks, which used for the
geodynamical purposes, data from two different geodetic networks "Sinai geodetic network, Egypt, and HGN network, South Korea" had been examined. The used networks had a different configuration and located in different areas with different seismic activity. The results show that both techniques have a high accuracy and no remarkable differences in terms of RMS. On the contrary, the resulted coordinates
shows that the constrained network adjustment technique not only cause a remarkable distortion in the station final coordinates but also if the fixed points that define the datum parameters are changed different solutions for the coordinates will be determined. This distortion affect not only in the determination of point displacement but also in the estimation of the deformation parameters, which play a significant role in the geodynamical interpretation of results. Comparing the results which obtained from both techniques with the widely known geodynamical models of the area reviles that the free network adjustment technique results are clearly match with these models, while those obtained from the constrained technique didn’t match at all. By considering the results it seams to be that the free network adjustment technique is the optimum technique, which can be used for the geodetic network adjustment.

This article is concerned with the technology to provide car driver the car's status which are composed of car trouble code in car engine and many sensors. In addition, it installs vehicle diagnostic programs on wireless communication's portable device, for example, Smart phone, PDA, PMP, UMPC. As a result, this is to provide car manager with many information of car sensors when we go to car maintenance. it can monitor relevant information on vehicle by portable device in real time, alert drivers with specific messages and also enable them to address abnormalities immediately. Moreover, the technology could help the drivers who perhaps don't know very well about their vehicles to drive safely and economically as well; the reason is because the whole system is composed of just Vehicle-information collecting device and personal wireless communication's portables and transfers the relating data to server computers through wireless network in order to handle information on vehicles. This technology make us monitor vehicle's running, failure and disorder by using wireless communication's portable device. Finally, this study system is composed of a lot of application to display us the car's status which get car's inner sensor information while driving a car.
We studied the influence certain environmental factors (proximity of roosting site, roads, and residential areas) have on the spatial distribution of cranes in the Cheorwon, Korea. Using a range finder and GPS, data were collected from January to February 2007 and were subsequently evaluated with ArcGIS. The size of the cranes' wintering habitat was estimated to be 7$76.9km^2$. Five hundred and fifty-five flocks of cranes were observed and detailed distributions were collected. Feeding distribution of the cranes showed clustered distribution, however, no tendencies of spatial autocorrelation were apparent. Adjacent regions with paved roads and residences showed lower densities than other areas. Distances at which paved roads and residential areas induced changes in feeding flock densities were 1500m and 1750m, respectively. Feeding flock density decreased with increased distance from roosting site. Feeding flock density of the two crane species did not increase as distance from roads increased, however, the density of individuals showed a significant increasing tendency with increased distance from roads. In both species, density of feeding flocks and individuals significantly increased with increasing distance from residential areas. In Red-crowned Cranes, the density of feeding flocks and individuals significantly decreased with increasing distance from roosting site, however, in the case of White-naped Cranes, there was an even distribution in density of feeding flocks and individuals.

Location-based services with GPS positioning technology as a key technology, but recognizing the current location through satellite communication is not possible in an indoor location-aware technology, low-power short-range communication is primarily made of the study. Especially, as Chirp Spread Spectrum(CSS) based location-aware approach for low-power physical layer IEEE802.15.4a is selected as a standard, Ranging distance estimation techniques and data transfer speed enhancements have been more developed. It is known that the distance measured by CSS ranging has quite a lot of noise as well as its bias. However, the noise problem can be adjusted by modeling the non-zero mean noise value by a scaling factor which corresponds to the change of magnitude of a measured distance vector. In this paper, we propose a localization system using the CSS signal to measure distance for a mobile node taken a measurement of the exact coordinates. By applying the extended kalman filter and least mean squares method, the localization system is faster, more stable. Finally, we evaluate the reliability and accuracy of the proposed algorithm's performance by the experiment for the realization of localization system.

In this paper, we describe a compensation method that can be used for the situation where Loran receivers lose their phase lock to the received Loran signals when Loran signals are employed for the synchronization of national infrastructures such as telecommunication networks, electric power distribution and so on. In losing the phase lock to the received signals in a Loran receiver, the inner oscillator of the receiver starts free-running and the performance of the timing synchronization signals which are locked to the oscillator's phase is very severly degraded, so the timing accuracy under 1 us for a Primary Reference Clock (PRC) required in the International Telecommunications Union (ITU) G.811 standard can not be satisfied in the situation. Therefore, in this paper, we propose a method which can compensate the phase jump by using a compensation algorithm when a Loran receiver loses its phase lock and the performance evaluation of the proposed algorithm is achieved by the Maximum Time Interval Error (MTIE) of the measured data. From the performance evaluation results, it is observed that the requirement under 1 us for a PRC can be easily achieved by using the proposed algorithm showing about 0.6 us with under 30 minutes mean interval of smoothing with 1 hour period when the loss of phase lock occurs.

This study is to investigate the performance of a new BNR process using predenitrification scheme focusing on nitrogen removal and the possibility of adapting a computer simulation scheme in BNR process development. By using a pre-denitrification basin, higher $COD/NO_3-N$ ratio could be sustained in this BNR process. The results of the investigation showed a SDNR value of 9.04mg/gMv/hr. In the anoxic tank, the average value of SPRR of 6.25mgP/gMv/hr was observed to be very sensitive to SCOD load of influents. By calibrating internal parameters (stoichiometric and kinetic parameters) of the simulation model, the results of simulation for various BNR processes gave good agreement with observed data. The major adjustment was given with three parameters, maximum specific growth rate of heterotrophic biomass, short chain fatty acid (SCFA) limit, and phosphorous release rate. With the series of simulations on varying operational conditions, the simulation by computer program can be a useful tool for process selection, and design and operation of municipal wastewater treatment plant.
Epidemiological studies have shown the association between transportation of live animals and the potential transmission of infectious disease between premises. This finding was also observed in the 2014-2015 foot-and-mouth disease (FMD) outbreak in Korea. Furthermore, slaughterhouses played a key role in the global spread of the FMD virus during the epidemic. In this context, in-depth knowledge of the structure of direct and indirect contact between slaughterhouses is paramount for understanding the dynamics of FMD transmission. But the social network structure of vehicle movements to slaughterhouses in Korea remains unclear. Hence, the aim of this study was to configure a social network topology of vehicle movements between slaughterhouses for a better understanding of how they are potentially connected, and to explore whether FMD outbreaks can be explained by the network properties constructed in the study. We created five monthly directed networks based on the frequency and chronology of on- and off-slaughterhouse vehicle movements. For the monthly network, a node represented a slaughterhouse, and an edge (or link) denoted vehicle movement between two slaughterhouses. Movement data were retrieved from the national Korean Animal Health Integrated System (KAHIS) database, which tracks the routes of individual vehicle movements using a global positioning system (GPS). Electronic registration of livestock movements has been a mandatory requirement since 2013 to ensure traceability of such movements. For each of the five studied networks, the network structures were characterized by small-world properties, with a short mean distance, a high clustering coefficient, and a short diameter. In addition, a strongly connected component was observed in each of the created networks, and this giant component included 94.4% to 100% of all network nodes. The characteristic hub-and-spoke type of structure was not identified. Such a structural vulnerability in the network suggests that once an infectious disease (such as FMD) is introduced in a random slaughterhouse within the cohesive component, it can spread to every other slaughterhouse in the component. From an epidemiological perspective, for disease management, empirically derived small-world networks could inform decision-makers on the higher potential for a large FMD epidemic within the livestock industry, and could provide insights into the rapid-transmission dynamics of the disease across long distances, despite a standstill of animal movements during the epidemic, given a single incursion of infection in any slaughterhouse in the country.
This study was performed to apply the measurement of heart rate and velocity in training horses for assessing race performance. Additionally, we aimed to identify parameters that can be used to evaluate the training level and exercise capacity. Eleven healthy 2- to 6-year-old Thoroughbreds were trained by the standard training program and heart rate and velocity were measured by using heart monitoring system and GPS. Regression analysis in heart rate and velocity data was performed to calculate velocity parameters. The mean maximal heart rate in gallop was $214{\pm}11bpm$. The mean $V_{140}$, $V_{180}$, $V_{200}$ and $VHR_{max}$ were $13.8{\pm}4.3km/h$, $37.5{\pm}3.8km/h$, $49.3{\pm}4.3km/h$ and $57.4{\pm}7.1km/h$ respectively. The mean $V_{140}$ of high performance racehorses was significantly higher than that of low performance racehorses (P < 0.05). Moreover, analyzing the correlation between velocity parameters and racing ability-related categories showed that $V_{140}$ was positively correlated with rating (P < 0.05), $V_{180}$ and $VHR_{max}$ were positively correlated with prize money per race (P < 0.05). Also, $V_{140}$ was significantly correlated with G1F (P < 0.05). The results of this study have shown that the measurement of heart rate and velocity during training could be useful methods to assess fitness for races or performance potential. Especially, $V_{140}$ is a good parameter to evaluate a performance of racehorses in Korea.

In this study, a drifting test using a experimental vessel (2,966 tons) in the northern waters of Jeju was carried out for the first time in order to obtain the fundamental data for drift. During the test, it was shown that the average leeway speed and direction by GPS position were 0.362 m/s and 155.54° respectively and the leeway rate for wind speed was 8.80%. The analysis of linear regression modes about leeway speed and direction of the experimental vessel indicated that wind or current (i.e. explanatory variable) had a greater influence upon response variable (e.g. leeway speed or direction) with the speed of the wind and current rather than their directions. On the other hand, the result of multiple regression model analysis was able to predict that the direction was negative, and it was demonstrated that predicted values of leeway speed and direction using an experimental vessel is to be more influential by current than wind while the leeway speed through variance and covariance was positive. In terms of the leeway direction of the experimental vessel, the same result of the leeway speed appeared except for a possibility of the existence of multi-collinearity. Then, it can be interpreted that the explanatory variables were less descriptive in the predicted values of the leeway direction. As a result, the prediction of leeway speed and direction can be demonstrated as following equations. The fatality rate of secondary accidents is seven times that of general traffic accidents. If limited to highways, one in four deaths are said to occur from secondary accidents. Unexpected situations which do not give drivers time to prepare are the cause of secondary accidents. This risk results in more fatalities on highways with high driving speeds. Existing studies have conducted research on traffic accidents and on secondary traffic accidents that occur after a primary traffic accident, without considering unexpected situations that may occur on the road. Therefore, to reduce damage and casualties caused by secondary accidents, there is a need to create a safe road environment by removing the possibility of causing accidents. This study analyzes whether the day of occurrence, time of occurrence, and radius of the curve of an unexpected situation are related to the occurrence of an unexpected situation. This study was based on data of accidents that occurred in 2022 on the Cheonan-Nonsan Expressway and the Seoul-Yangyang Expressway. The radius of the curve was calculated by dividing the section of the highway into straight, clothoid, and curved sections through cluster analysis. Results of the analysis indicate that the day and time of occurrence and the curve radius are associated with unexpected situations.
