Indoor positioning scheme using GPS equipped outdoor terminals (외부 GPS 모바일 단말기를 이용한 실내 위치 추적 기법)

  • 최근 들어 위치 기반 서비스(Location Based Service)는 치안, 인명 구조, 물류 추적, 길안내 등 다양한 분야로 적용 가능성 때문에 많은 관심을 받고 있는 기술이다. 스마트 폰과 같은 모바일 단말기의 보급이 가속화되면서 사용자는 위치 정보를 이용한 각종 서비스에 대한 요구가 늘어나고 관련 산업의 사업성이 폭발적으로 증가하고 있는 추세다. 실외 위치 추적 기법은 인공위성을 이용한 GPS(Global Positioning System) 기법이 시장을 거의 평정하여 이에 수렴해 가고 있는 상황이고 실제로 많은 상용 제품이 존재하고 있다. 하지만 실내에는 인공위성 신호가 직접 전해 지지 못하는 상황이기 때문에 이와 다른 기법이 존재하나 아직 상용화하기에 그 정확도와 기술력이 부족한 것이 현실이다. 본 논문에서는 건물 밖에 존재하는 GPS 기능이 탑재된 모바일 단말기를 이용하여 실내에 존재하는 모바일 단말기와 협력 통신(Cooperative Communication)하여 위치를 추적하는 기법을 제안한다. 최근 들어 GPS 장비의 단가 하락으로 이 기능을 가지고 있는 모바일 단말기가 증가하고 있는 추세이기 때문에 실내 위치 추적 시스템을 구축하기 위해 별도의 장비를 설치하지 않아도 된다는 것이 이 기법의 가장 큰 장점이다. 시뮬레이션의 결과를 통해 본 기법의 효용성을 확인해보았다.

  • In this paper, we implemented the sign board that is able to display the located based information by adding the GPS module to the board that display the DARC information and user`s message. The global positioning information from GPS module gets more correct by DGPS from DARC module. This information help this system select the located based information for broadcasting. From the experiment, we confirmed that this system displayed user`s data, DARC information data and located based information.

GPS L5 Signal Tracking Scheme Using GPS L1 Signal Tracking Results (GPS L1 신호추적 결과를 이용한 GPS L5 신호추적 기법)

  • The United States will proceed with the effort to modernize the GPS system, and one of its main content is to provide L5 signal. L5 will be transmitted in a radio band reserved exclusively for aviation safety services. And, L5, in combination with L1, will improve the position accuracy via ionospheric correction and robustness via signal redundancy. However, The acquisition processing time of L5 takes longer than that of L1 as the code length of L5 is 10 times longer than that of L1. To reduce this acquisition processing time, a higher number of correlators in the aquisition module should be used. However, there is a problem that this causes increase in the complexity of the correlator configuration and the computation power. So, in this paper, we propose L5 signal tracking scheme using tracking results in the GPS L1/L5 receiver. The proposed scheme could reduce the hardware complexity as the GPS L5 signal acquisition module is not needed, and provide fast and stable tracking of L5 signal by aiding L1 tracking results such as PRN, the code phase synchronization, and the Doppler frequency. The feasibility of the proposed scheme is demonstrated through simulation results.

  • LBS(Location Based System) is the essential technology of ubiquitous market and utilizes the GNSS(Global Navigation Satellite). GNSS includes GPS of USA, Galileo of Europe Union, QZSS of Japan, Compass of China, and IRNSS of India. Related researches have recently been conducted. Once the satellite is launched, the maintenance such as modification and verification of its function is difficult. Therefore, before the launch of satellites, more precise and concrete verification of performance and operations are needed. In order to do this, hardware testbed may be developed. but software simulators can provide more flexible and cost effective simulation results. These simulators should provide the essential function handling all kinds of error features experienced upon propagation of the GNSS signal. In this paper, we present a design and implementation results of a window-based simulator applying the modeling of various error features for several GNSS.

  • A method of autonomous update is presented for onboard orbit propagator. On board propagator is an alternative means that could be used for navigation purpose in case of CPS receiver's failure. Although the ground station is not a able to upload a new propagator, the onboard propagator must be maintained most up-to-date. For this, a filtering technique is proposed wherein GPS data are effectively used to continuously update the on board propagator which was uploaded previously. Even if the ground station has generated the on board propagator based on the wrong information, the onboard propagator with updating scheme can automatically correct the errors in the coefficients of residual reconstruction function. Several scenarios were used to show the validity of the scheme for updating the onboard propagator using KOMPSAT-1 orbit data.

A Study on The Interference between Global Navigation Satellite Systems (위성항법 시스템 간 간섭 영향에 관한 연구)

  • To design a new Navigation Satellite System signal, we should analyze the influence of inter-system interference to existing Global Navigation Satellite Systems(GNSS). Various GNSS systems such as GSP, GALILEO, Compass use same frequence band and incur inter-system interference due to the overlapping spectrums. In this paper, we consider L2 Band for new Navigation Satellite System and propose the BOCcos(15,2.5) signal what has least Spectral Separation Coefficient with GPS L2 system. Assuming 4 stationary satellite over Korea, we simulate the effect of interference. As a result, proposed system shows very small mutual interference effect and negligible effective signal to noise ratio(SNR) loss, compared to the interferences between GNSS systems in L1 Band.

A Study on Accuracy of Position Fixes Obtained by GPS at Three Fixed Stations (정점(定點)에 있어서 GSP의 측위정도(測位精度))

  • The United States has been developing a GPS(Global Positoning System), and now we can make use of it everywhere in the world. The author measured the usable time and took position fixes from three fixed stations in Japan in order to evaluate the positioning accuracy of GPS, firstly by the difference in the time of the year and, secondly by the difference in location between the stations in 1988. I was able to receive positioning signals from only 6 or 7 satellites, but in July 1991, 14 GPS satellites became available. The results obtained are summerized as follows: 1) The usable time was 7~9 hours from only 6~7 satellites. 2) In the case of the former, the time zone of position fixes varied with the time of the year and there were a little differences of the accuracy of position fixes except 3H(three dimensiomal high level positioning). In the case of the latter, there were not obvious locality differences in 3D(three dimensional positioning). But the positioning errors and number of data varied on each level in 2D(two dimensiomal positioning), although the positioning errors were smaller than 0.1 nautical mile. 3) Th standard deviations of Dep(departure) were larger than tat of D.lat(difference of latitude), and varied widely to the east and west. But the standard deviations were smaller than 100 meters.

  • 세계적인 위성항법시스템 중에서 러시아의 GLONASS 시스템은 구소련의 붕괴이후 재정문제로 시스템이 완전한 임무수행 불가능하였으나 최근 러시아 정부의 위성항법 현대화 정책 추진으로 완벽한 상용화 및 추가적인 개선이 이루어지고 있다. 따라서 GLONASS 현황을 분석하고 위성으로부터 실측 데이터를 수신하여 분석한 결과 GPS 위성과 대등한 수준으로 향후 위성항법 사용자 측면에서 GLONASS 이용과 더불어 통합수신기 이용도 고려해야할 것이다.
