정상인에서 스트레스와 불안에 대한 돌외추출물의 효과와 안전성에 관한 무작위 배정 이중 맹검 임상시험 (Randomized, Double-Blind Study of Efficacy and Safety of Gynostemma pentaphyllum Ethanol Extract in a Normal Population)

  • The purpose of this study was to evaluate the clinical efficacy of a standardized special ethanol extract from Gynostemma pentaphyllum as a management for anxiety and stress of normal population. This is a two-arm, parallelgroup, randomized, double blind clinical trial comparing Gynostemma pentaphyllum extract 200 mg bid (GP-EX, n=48) or placebo bid (n=54). The main outcome measures were the decrease in anxiety sensitivity index (ASI), the State version (S-STAI) of the Stait-Trait Anxiety Inventory (STAI) and the Trait version (T-STAT) of the STAI from baseline over a 6 weeks treatment period. In more anxious group (S-STAI50 or ASI19), the anxiety in group with GP-EX was decreased significantly than one in normal population with placebo [S-STAI50: T-STAI = from $57.7{\pm}6.5$ ($mean{\pm}S.D.$) to $46.8{\pm}11.2$ in normal population with GP-EX, p=0.002 vs. from $54.1{\pm}9.9$ to $49.0{\pm}9.6$ in normal population with placebo, p>0.05; ASI19: T-STAI = from $47.2{\pm}12.0$ to $42.4{\pm}11.1$ in normal population with GP-EX, p=0.022 vs. from $48.7{\pm}11.5$ to $46.0{\pm}10.4$ in normal population with placebo, p>0.05]. The most frequently reported adverse reactions considered possibly related to treatment were mild gastrointestinal events. GP-EX is more effective than placebo and is well tolerated as a therapy for anxiety and stress of normal population.

  • The grafting of methacrylonitrile(MAN) onto Kevlar 49 filament surface was carried out by anionic polymerization using sodium methylsulfinylcarbanion formed from sodium hydride and dimethyl sulfoxide(DMSO). The effects of reaction conditions on the grafting percentage(GP) and on the tensile strength of the fiber were investgated. GP marktedly increased with increasing metalation time, and NaH concentration, polymerization temperature and time. The tensile strength of fiber decrased with increasing metalation time, and NaH concentration, polymerization temperature and time. The optimum conditions to increase over 40% of GP with below 10% reduction rate of tensile strength of fiber : NaH concentration ; 30.6 mmol/l/0.5g Kevlar, metalation time : 10min, polymerization tempera- ture : 5$0^{\circ}C$, polymerization time: 20 sec, monomer concentration : 1.12mol/l/0.5g Kevlar.

Effect of molar ratios on strength, microstructure & embodied energy of metakaolin geopolymer

  • In this study, twenty-five geopolymer (GP) mixes were prepared by varying the alkaline solids to Metakaolin (MK) and sodium silicate to NaOH ratios from 0.1 to 0.5 and 0.2 to 1.0, respectively, thus giving a wide range of molar ratios of silica to alumina, sodium oxide to alumina and water to sodium oxide. The compressive strength of these GP mixes was determined for four curing schemes involving oven curing at 100℃ for 24 h and three ambient curing with the curing ages of 3, 14, and 28 days. The test results revealed that for the manufacture of GP binder for structural applications of strength up to 90 MPa, the molar ratio of silica to alumina should be greater than 2.3, sodium oxide to alumina should be between 0.6 to 1.2, and water to sodium oxide should not exceed 12. The compressive strength of ambient cured GP mortar gets stabilized at 28 days of ambient curing. Experimental findings were also corroborated by GP microstructure analysis. The embodied energy of MK-based GP mortars, especially of high strength, is significantly less than the cement mortar of equivalent strength.

  • 파쇄된 석괴댐 재료의 공학적 특성을 조사하기 위하여 대형 삼축시험을 실시하였다. 시험에 사용된 재료는 greywacke이고, 시료는 골재의 최대 치수가 각각 38.1mm, 25.4mm 및 19.1mm이며 서로 평행한 3개의 입도분포곡선을 사용하였다. 시료의 크기는 $\phi300mm\times600mm$이고, 구속응력은 5t/$m^2$에서 60t/$m^2$까지 변화시켰다. 시험결과, 석피재료의 응력-변형율 관계 및 내부마찰각에 미치는 골재의 최대치수의 영향은 무시할 수 있는 것으로 나타났다. 구속응력이 5t/$m^2$에서 60t/$m^2$으로 증가될 때, 내부마찰각은 $51.6^{\circ}$에서부터 $40.5^{\circ}$까지 감소 하였다. 석괴재료에 대한 삼축시험결과로부터 쌍곡선 모델의 매개 변수를 산정하여, 이 값들을 Duncan등(1980)의 입상재료(GW및 GP재료)에 대한 추천치와 비교하였다. 매개변수중, 석괴재료의 시험결과로부터 산정된 no 및 K치가 특히 입상재료(GW및 GP재료)에 대한 추천치와 많은 차이를 보이는 것으로 판명되었다.

  • This study was designed to find out the nutritional defect of general Korean diet and the effective way of nutritional supplementation. Seventy weanling Sprague-Dawley male rats weighing 51.8$\pm$0.9g were blocked into ten groups and fed ten different diets ad libitum for eight weeks: Standard groups(st gp) was given 72% sugar-20% casein diet: Cereal-vegetable group(c-v gp) was fed cereal-vegetable diet(c-v diet) composed of rice, barley, soybean, spinach and cabbage: the other eight groups were fed c-v diets supplemented with casein, vitamin $B_{2}$, calcium, vitamin A, vitamin B2 and A, vitamin A and calcium, vitamin $B_{2}$ and calcium, vitamin A and $B_{2}$and calcium, respectively, on the basis of each nutrients content of standard diet. The results were as follows: 1. Food intakes and body weight gains in all the experimental groups were significantly lower than st gp. Among experimental groups, casein gp and vit B2 gp tended to gain more body weights than c-v gp. 2. Through all the experimental period, F.E.R., pp.E.R., and NDPcal% did nod show significant differences among all the experimental groups and st gp. 3. The weights of liver, kidney, and gastrocnemius were significantly lower in all the experimental groups as compared with st gp. But brain and sex organ weights did not show differences among all the groups. 4. Nitrogen contents of total carcass, liver, and gastrocnemius in all the experimental groups tended to be increased as compared with st gp, and among experimental groups, they tended to be increased by casein supplementation and decreased by ca supplementation. 5. Apparent nitrogen digestibility, urinary and fecal nitrogen excretion, the amount of nitrogen retained, and N.P.U. did not show any significant differences among all the groups. 6. Serum total protein concentrations did not show any significant differences among all the groups.

Effects of Graphenes/CNTs Co-reinforcement on Electrical and Mechanical Properties of HDPE Matrix Nanocomposites

  • In this work, mechanical and electrical properties of graphenes (GP)/carbon nanotubes (CNTs) co-reinforced high density polyethylene (HDPE) matrix composites were studied. The microstructure, morphologies, and electric properties of the composites were evaluated by XRD, TEM, and 4-probe methods, respectively. It was found that the electric resistivity of 0.5 wt %-GP/HDPE was immeasurable, and 2.0 wt %-CNTs/HDPE showed high resistivity ($6.02{\times}10^4{\Omega}{\cdot}cm$). Meanwhile, GP (0.5 wt %)/CNTs (2.0 wt %)/HDPE showed excellent low resistivity ($3.1{\times}10^2{\Omega}{\cdot}cm$). This result indicates that the co-reinforcement systems can dramatically decrease electric resistivity of the carbon/polymer nanocomposites.

백지 에탄올추출물의 미백효능 연구 (Whitening Effects of Angelica dahurica Radix Ethanol Extract)

  • 본 논문은 백지 에탄올추출물의 미백효능을 조사하기 위하여 melan-a cell, 브라운 기니피그 및 HMB-45 염색을 사용하였다. melan-a 세포에 시료를 6.25, 12.5, 25, 50, ${\mu}g/m{\ell}$ 농도로 처치하여 세포 생장율의 변화 관찰 및 멜라닌세포의 형태학적 변화를 관찰하였다. 또한 brown guinea pig (450~500 g)등 부위에 1500 mJ/$cm^2$ 광량의 ultraviolet B조사로 유발시킨 인공색소반 (${\Phi}$ 2 mm)에 1일 2회, 주 5일, 매회 30 ${\mu}{\ell}$씩 총 5주간 시료를 도포하여 주 1회 육안적 변화를 관찰 하였고, 실험 5주째 되는 날 실험동물은 염산 케타민으로 마취 후 시료를 도포한 인공색소반 부위를 biopsy punch로 절취하여 HMB-45 염색으로 멜라닌소체 내 glycoprotein(gp100) 단백질의 조직학적 변화를 관찰 하였다. 세포생장율 측정에서 시료처치 6.25~50 ${\mu}g/m{\ell}$에서의 세포생장율은 높았고, 멜라닌세포의 형태학적 변화에서는 시료처치 농도가 증가할수록 멜라닌합성 및 수지상 돌기가 적게 관찰 되었다. 동물 실험 육안적 관찰에서 시료 도포군이 용매대조군에 비해 멜라닌 색소침착 정도가 확연하게 밝아졌고, gp100 단백질의 조직학적 관찰에서 시료 도포군은 gp100 단백질 발현 정도가 현저하게 줄어들었으며, 영상분석에서도 시료 도포군이 용매대조군에 비해 유의하게(p<0.001) 감소하였는데 이러한 결과는 현미경 관찰 결과와 일치하였다. 이상의 결과를 종합하면 백지 에탄올추출물은 우수한 미백효과가 있는 것으로 판단된다.

Tyrphostin ErbB2 Inhibitors AG825 and AG879 Have Non-specific Suppressive Effects on gp130/ STAT3 Signaling

  • Although the interaction between gp130 and the ErbB family has frequently been shown in cancer cells, the mechanism of this interaction remains unclear and controversial. In the present study, we found that specific tyrphostin inhibitors of ErbB2 (AG825 and AG879), but not ErbB1 inhibitor (AG1478), suppressed IL-6-induced tyrosine phosphorylation of STAT3 in schwannoma cells. However, biochemical evidence for transactivation of ErbB2 by IL-6 was not observed. Additionally, the inhibition of ErbB2 expression, with either a specific RNAi or transfection of an ErbB2 mutant lacking the intracellular domain did not inhibit the IL-6-induced tyrosine phosphorylation of STAT3. Thus, it seems that tyrphostins, which are known as specific inhibitors of the ErbB2 kinase, may have non-specific suppressive effects on the IL-6/STAT3 pathway.

3차원 공간정보를 이용한 통합 GNSS 시뮬레이터 개발 및 검증 (Development and Validation of an Integrated GNSS Simulator Using 3D Spatial Information)

  • 이 연구에서는 3차원 건물좌표를 이용한 통합 GNSS 시뮬레이터 IGSS(Inha GNSS Simulation System)를 개발하고 정확도를 검증하였다. 또한 IGSS를 이용하여 통합 GNSS 환경에서의 측위 가용성 및 정확도 향상을 평가하였다. GPS와 GLONASS의 예측결과를 실제관측 결과와 비교하여 시뮬레이터를 검증하였으며 그 결과, GPS와 GLONASS의 오차 발생빈도가 각각 6.4%와 7.5%로 나타났다. 통합 GNSS 환경에서의 측위 가용성과 정확도 향상에 관한 평가는 중고층 건물에 의한 신호차폐현상이 심한 정부대전청사를 대상으로 하였다. GPS를 단독으로 사용하였을 경우, GPS와 GLONASS를 동시에 사용하였을 경우, GPS, GLONASS, 그리고 Galileo를 함께 사용하였을 경우를 구분하여 가시위성의 개수와 정밀도 저하율을 산출하고 그 결과를 비교 및 평가하였다.

Effects of Sonication, Osmotic Priming and Modified Drum Priming on the Germination of Tomato Seeds

  • In order to increase the germination speed and uniformity of tomato seeds, sonication and modified drum priming treatments were investigated to produce high quality seeds for export. Sonication treatment was performed for 5, 10 and 20minutes at an intensity of 5.2, 10.4 and 15.7kHz in water at $15^{\circ}C$. After sonication treatment, seeds were primed with water or 100mM $KNO_3$ for 4days. 40, 50 and 60% seed moisture content (SMC) of hydrated seeds were incubated for 60, 72 and 84h in a container with a relative humidity of 99% at 26rpm for a modified drum priming treatments. Germination speed were highly improved by sonication with osmotic priming. The seed treatment of osmotic priming or hydro priming after sonication or sonication without priming enhanced germination percentage (GP) on the $2^{rd}$day after sowing to 46%, 43% and 28%, respectively, while untreated seeds resulted in only 1% GP. These treatments also highly improved mean germination time (MGT) to 1.4, 1.8 and 2.6days, respectively, when compared to 3.5days MGT of untreated seeds. The modified drum priming treatment (72h incubation after 60% SMC hydration) significantly improved results of 74% GP(on the $3^{rd}$day after sowing), 2.6days MGT and $39%{\cdot}day^{-1}$ germination rate (GR), however, untreated seeds showed 19% GP, 4.1 MGT, and $25%{\cdot}day^{-1}$ GR. Although osmotic priming after sonication, hydro priming showed similar improved germination characteristics, however, modified drum priming is considered as an industrially promising treatment methods considering the shortening of the treatment period and environment-friendly aspects.
