This paper is on the research result for analyzing the performance of GLORY(GLobal Resource management sYstem) used for Web Server Cluster system, which was developed at ETRI(Electronic and Telecommunication Research Institute). The paper includes the definition of Web Server Cluster System, the characteristics of the system, user oriented system performance, current performance enhancement methods, computer simulation model for GLORY and its experimental results for the performance of GLORY. GLORY is composed of 2048~1,000,000 units of PCs, and is used for Internet servers. From the results of the simulation experiments, we notice that GLORY has enough capacity to fully serve the appropriate level of Internet services. Also, the results show that Web server service time is longer than that for network transmission time but requires more DNS than expected, and that 100Mbps LAN is good enough for directly connecting Internet to the Web servers while not affecting the total system performance.

The purpose of this article is to examine how Byron's Don Juan VII-VIII depicts the various facets of characters' minds and actions in taking attitude toward glory during wartime in Ismail, Turkey. It explores the multifaceted sides of their hidden intentions and military activities in the self-centered and ruthless battle. Byron investigates their diverse and unreasonable causes, which drive them to undertake their particular deeds while participating in the combat. He unfolds the complex, dark layers of man's motivations and acts in responding to such martial ideals as fame, honor, success, or triumph. By making an effective characterization of four major figures such as Suwarrow, Juan, Johnson, and the Turkish Khan, Byron, indeed, enriches the poem with a variety of their different conceptions and stances toward these remarkable achievements. While fighting in the same battle, they, interestingly, reveal strikingly different attitudes, especially in responding to the complex aspects of reputation, glory, war, manliness or fate. The article also considers how the two Cantos of Don Juan feature the ironic results of the characters' quest for glory, which bring about an extensive range of inhuman consequences. The poet accentuates the diverse, negative aftermaths of their illusionary, abusive pursuit of fame and honor. In doing so, he effectively utilizes figurative portrayals of brutal pictures to highlight the unanticipated boundaries and dreadful outcomes, which have been caused by the undesirable or irrational exercises of their freedom of choice in pursuing such self-centered desires and renown.

A new spray rose cultivar 'Glory Purple' was bred from the cross between a pink spray cultivar 'Macarena' and a pink spray cultivar 'Million Pink' at the National Institute of Horticulture & Herbal Science. The cross was made in 2004 and a candidate genotype which named as 'Glory Purple' was selected in 2009 after three years investigation for agronomical characters from 2007 to 2009. 'Glory Purple', a purple colored spray cultivar, has vigorous growth and has powdery mildew resistance. The major characteristics of this cultivar are high yield and long stem with relatively large flower size with $157stems/m^2/year$ in yield, 63.5 cm in mean length of cut flower, 6.8 cm in mean flower diameter, 25.78 in mean petal number, and 10.2 days in mean vase life. This cultivar is suitable for propagation by both cutting and grafting methods. The consumer's preference of this cultivar is relatively higher than that of the control cultivars, 'Pinky and Charming'.

As the development of IT technologies, storages stored very sensitive data which should not be damaged, too. It increased the importance of data backup and makes the time need to backup data important issues. Snapshot is one of the backup technologies which needs short downtime to maintain consistency of data during backup data. In this paper, we studied two kinds of snapshots, local file system based snapshot and network file system based snapshot. In the local file system based snapshot part, we propose the PSnap which is a snapshot library for non-snapshot file system as like Ext2, Ext3 and XFS. In another part, network file system based snapshot, we propose the GlorySnap which snapshot utilities for GloryFS is a distributed file system was made by ETRI.

The transfer of Mn-Superoxide Dismutase (SOD2) gene, complex gene (SA) of CuZnSOD and ascorbate peroxidase (APX), and NDP kinase 2 (NDPK2) gene into Korean 4 cultivars (cvs. Millenium White, Glory Blue, Glory Red, and Glory Purple) and 15 purebred lines of petunia was conducted using Agrobaterium-mediated technique. Two (Wongyo A2-16 and A2-36) of 15 purebred lines and one (cv. Glory Red) of 4 cultivars were effective for the transfer of SOD2 gene. The putative transgenic plants survived on the 2nd selection medium were 124. From PCR analysis, 118 (derived from 4 cultivars and 2 purebred lines) of 124 plants were confirmed to contain marker (npt II ) gene, while 58 of 118 plants did not have target genes. There were no plants with both npt II and SA genes. Twenty seven of 28 SOD2 transgenic plants were re-confirmed as transformants by Sothern analysis. SOD2 and NDPK2 genes were expressed in the transgenic petunias as the ratio of 77.8 to 100.0 % and 23.5%, respectively. T1 seeds were obtained from 36 acclimated transgenic plants (SOD2 34 plus NDPK2) in a glasshouse by self-pollination.

The new Cymbidium variety 'Pink Glory' (Palace Court 'Jacky' ${\times}$ Lucky Rainbow 'Saint Rapine') was developed at the National Institute of Horticultural & Herbal Science, Rural Development Administration in 2006. A cross was made in 1995 between C. Palace Court 'Jacky' with a medium sized bright pink colored flowers, and C. Lucky Rainbow 'Saint Rapine' with pink colored flowers. In 1999, one line was selected based on the flower color, leaf shape, flower stalk, and vigorous growth. Evaluation and selection trials were conducted from 2000 to 2004. 'Pink Glory' has a light pink sepal (RHS, RPN66D), red lip (R52B) and a leaf length of 87.5 cm. The average number of flowers on each peduncle was 20.5 and the flower diameter was 8.6 cm. The general impression of petals and sepals showed some incurved and some spreading. 'Pink Glory' has a vigorous growth character and a rounded flower shape. It has an adequate peduncle height (66.5 cm) compared to leaf length (87.5 cm) and starts to bloom in late January under optimal cultural conditions.

It is often claimed that the descriptive way of documentation is insufficient to define software requirements as being unambiguous. This is caused by not only the difference of knowledge and understanding of the stakeholder as to system but also the difference in the way of documentation like method of representation as well as depth of description. The study explains the process and results of applying a diagraming tool like UML to improve the requirements of GLORY(GLObal Resource management sYstem) initially defined in descriptive way. Especially, the result shows that the requirements are more accurately improved with the good hierarchies and well-leveled functionalities, with the help of diagraming tool, expecting easy maintenance of requirements and prevention of omission of requirements.

'Glory Pink' an interspecific lily cultivar was released in 2007 at National Horticultural Research Institute (NHRI), Rural Development Administration (RDA), Suwon, Korea. The cross and ovule culture was made between FA interspecific hybrid 'FA97-30' (L. formolongi 'Raizan' ${\times}$ Asiatic lily 'A61'), a red colored cultivar, and Asiatic lily 'Sanzio', light red colored cultivar in 2001. Multiplication and bulbing, and characteristic tests were conducted from 2005 to 2006. Flowering time is around the first of July and the plant height is 131.7 cm. Flowers are upward-facing and red-pink (RHS 63C), with size of 11.3 cm. Petal length and width is 9.1 cm and 4.1 cm, respectively. Leaves are 13.8 cm long, 1.4 cm wide. The throat is dark green, and the stigma is light yellow and pollen is light brown. The weight and size of bulb is 51.1 g and 13.2 cm, respectively. For long-term storage, bulbs can be stored under -1 to -2 for year-round forcing.

본고에서는 분산 파일 시스템 기술의 현황 및 최근 이슈를 다룬다. 먼저 클라우드 컴퓨팅 및 빅데이터 분석 분야에서 산업체 표준으로 간주되고 있는 Hadoop의 분산 파일 시스템을 위주로 현황과 한계에 대해 다루고, 국내에서 개발된 유사한 구조의 분산 파일시스템인 GLORY-FS를 Hadoop 파일 시스템과 대비하여 국내 활용 사례를 기반으로 유사성 및 차이점을 비교한다.
