  • High quality cathode with high deposition rate of thin films and long target life time is required for manufacturing TFT-LCD and semiconductor. We developed WV(wide view) sputtering cathode with wide erosion area and high deposition rate. Ti thin film thickness variation in WV cathode is below 5% for 380 kWh target life time. Al thin film thickness using normal cathode is decreased about 20%. By using WV cathode, target using efficiency was improved 40%. in comparison with normal cathode.

  • Sea ice properties have been considered a key indicator in the structural design criteria of icebreaking vessels and arctic offshore platforms to estimate design ice load and resistance for their safety management in Arctic Ocean. A measurement study of sea ice properties was conducted during July to August of 2011 with the Korean icebreaking research vessel "Araon" around Chukchi Borderland. The sea ice concentration appears to be rapidly decreasing during this cruise. Ice condition seems to be thick second-year ice and multi-year ice and then, a lot of melt ponds were observed in the surface of ice floe. Calculated flexural strength of sea ice was about 250~550kPa, ice thickness was roughly 1.3~3.0m. In this research we performed field experiment to measure ice temperature along the depth, thickness, density, salinity, brine volume ratio and crystal structure. Apparent conductivities derived with the electromagnetic induction instrument were compared to drill hole measurement results and accuracy of sea ice thickness estimation formula was discussed.

  • In this study, we investigated that the resistance switching characteristics of Al-doped MgOx films with increasing Al doping concentration and increasing film thickness. The Al-doped MgOx based ReRAM devices with a TiN/Al-doped MgOx/Pt/Ti/SiO2 were fabricated on Si substrates. The 5 nm, 10 nm, and 15 nm thick Al-doped MgOx films were deposited by reactive dc magnetron co-sputtering at $300^{\circ}C$ and oxygen partial ratio of 60% (Ar: 16 sccm, O2: 24 sccm). Micro-structure of Al-doped MgOx films and atomic concentration were investigated by XRD and XPS, respectively. The Al-doped MgOx films showed set/reset resistance switching behavior at various Al doping concentrations. The process voltage of forming/set is decreased and whereas the initial current level is increased with decreasing thickness of Al-doped MgOx films. Besides, the initial current of Al-doped MgOx films is increased with increasing Al doping concentration in MgOx films. The change of resistance switching behavior depending on doping concentration was discussed in terms of concentration of non-lattice oxygen of Al-doped MgOx.

  • In this paper, film thickness and temperature distribution are measured in EHL point contact at high roll/slip ratios. Infrared temperature mapping with two band pass filters, proposed by Ausherman (1976), is used to measure temperature distribution. And the optical interferometric method with two filters (red and green filters) is used to measure film thickness. Result of experiment showed that temperature rising at film and ball surface occurred very dramatically in Dimple zone. As slip velocity, roll/slip ratio and load increased, size of Dimple and temperature rising became more large. In addition, position and shape of Dimple were changed by roll/slip ratios, and increasing of Dimple size decreased traction coefficient. In short, it is appointed that the Dimple phenomenon be developed by the effect of viscosity wedge.

  • Industrialization and modernization of the beginning of the IT industry is growing very fast. Since telecommunications industry was developed rapidly, technologies about miniaturization and high-precision of parts have been actively developed to lead information revolution. generally, the entire shear surface of the product applying fine blanking technology must be very precise. Fine blanking is used to save cost by avoiding post-processing of the product. When using press blanking, it spends a lot of money on the production by using many post-processing. Fine blanking typically used in 0.5~18 mm thick steel plate. Because a lot of post-processing cost can be used to process, except for fine blanking. In order to develop components "CHANCE CONTENTS" in the fine blanking process, the purpose of this study is to minimize the edge of the bridge, secured 95% of the material thickness of the shear surface using the 1.6 mm thickness of the material SPCC. Blanking process by introducing after changing thickness through forging process, due to change in vee-rring force and counter force, the experimental amount of depressions and flatness and the shear surface were analyzed.

  • The effect of ball milling conditions in the milling of aluminium foil scraps was studied. Initial foil thickness, ball size. content of oleic acid. weight ratio of mineral spirits/foil. charged amount of foil were varied in wet ball milling process. It is impossible to make flake powders by milling of foil scraps with thickness $120 \mum$. As foil thickness decreases from $60\mum$ to $6.5\mum$, Mean size of powder milled for 30 h decreases from 107 µm to 17 µm. Bigger ball is slightly beneficial for milling of foils to the flake powders due to the larger impact energy produced by them. It is impossible to mill the foil without oleic acid to fabricate the flake powder. As content of oleic acid increases from 1.5 % to 5 %, mean size of flake powder milled for 30 h is drastically decreased. For the mineral spirits content below 50 %, foil scrap was not milled because sliding motion of balls by lubricant effect between balls and wall of container. As weight ratio of mineral spirits and foil increase over 100 %, foils were milled powders with mean powder size 15 - 20 때 irrespective of mineral spirits content due to reduced lubricant effect. As charged amount of foil decreases, mean powder size decreases due to increased collision frequency between ball and foil.

  • An experimental study of impinging jet-flow structure has been carried out for a fully developed single circular jet impingement cooling on a flat plate, and the effect of the wall thickness at nozzle exit edge is investigated. Impinging jet flow structures have been measured by Laser-Doppler Velocimeter to interpret the heat transfer results presented previously by Yoon et al.(sup)(10) The peaks of heat transfer rate are observed near the nozzle edge owing to the radial acceleration of jet flow when the nozzle locates close to the impingement plate. The growth of the velocity fluctuations in the wall jet flow is induced by the vortices which originate in the jet shear layer, and consequently the radial distribution of local Nusselt numbers has a secondary peak at the certain radial position. As a wall of circular pipe nozzle becomes thicker for small nozzle-to-target distance, the entrainment can be inhibited, consequently, the acceleration of wall jet flow is reduced and the heat transfer rate decreases.

  • There has recently been a great deal of interest in amorphous selenium for application of digital x-ray image sensor. The initial number of the electron-hole induced by interaction a-Se with x-ray photons and the collection efficiency to surface of generated charges are important parameters for x-ray sensitivity of the a-Se. Therefore, in this paper, we analyzed that thickness of a-Se film and electric field is affected on the initial number of electron-hole and the collection efficiency. The experimental value of x-ray induced charge about the various thickness and the electric field is compared with estimated absorbed energy through MCNP 4C code to analyze the mechanism x-ray induced signal of a-Se. The experimental results showed that the electric field depends on initial escape coefficient and the thickness depends on collection coefficient than escape efficient.

  • The purpose of this study is to develope prototype EPID system and improve image quality of radiation therapy field imaging system using CCD camera. For this research we used Linac(Clinac 4/100), Copper metal plate, $Gd_2O_2S_2$ phosphor and CCD camera(Photronic). In this study we find best thickness of buil-up metal plate and acquired projection image of humanoid head phantom. Also we enhanced raw image data using superposition and histogram stretching method. Through the thickness optimized of metal plate and image processing, we confirmed of an improved image quality of an EPID system using CCD camera. As result, highest quality image was acquired at 1mm thickness of Copper metal plate and improved image quality by image processing methods.
