HK-1000 약침이 흰쥐의 고지혈증 및 동맥경화증에 미치는 영향 (A Study on the Effect of Herbal-acupuncture with HK-1000 Solution on Hyperlipidemia and Arteriosclerosis Induced Rats)

  • Objective&Methods: The purpose of this study is to observe the effects of HK-1000 Herbal-acupuncture solution at GB34(Yangleungchean) on hyperlipidemia and arteriosclerosis in rats. The author performed several experimental items to analyze the levels of various components and enzymes in serum, urine and liver, as well as the histological change of liver and aorta. Results: 1. HK-1000 herbal-acupuncture infusion increased the cell viability rate, DPPH radical scavenging activity and HMG-CoA reductase inhibition rate in rat liver cells. 2. The levels of total cholesterol, free cholesterol, LDL-cholesterol, phospholipid in serum and AI(atherogenic index) were decreased, and the ratio of HDL to TCL(HDL/TCL) and the level of TG in serum were increased as compared with those of the control group. 3. In the HK-1000 group, serum AST and ALT were significantly lower than those of the HG group and saline group. 4. Hepatic GSH and catalase activities were significantly increased as compared with those of the saline group. Conclusions: From the above results, it is suggested that HK-1000 herbal-acupuncture at GB34 has a therapeutic effect on hyperlipidemia and arteriosclerosis.

양릉천(陽陵泉) 오미자(五味子)약침이 고지방식이로 유발된 고지혈증 흰쥐에 미치는 영향 (A Study on the Effect of Herbal-acupuncture with Schizandrae Fructus Solution on Hyperlipidemia in Rats Induced by High Fat Diet)

  • Objectives : The purpose of this study is to observe the effects of herbal acupuncture with Schizandrae Fructus solution at $GB_{34}$(Yangneungcheon) on hyperlipidemia in rats. Methods : In the present study, herbal acupuncture with Schizandrae Fructus solution was administered into hyperlipidemic mice. The author performed several experimental items to analyze the levels of various components and enzymes in serum, liver, as well as the histological changes of liver and aorta. Results : 1. In the Schizandrae Fructus herbal-acupuncture group, serum total cholesterol and Atherogenic index were significantly decreased, and the ratios of HDL to total cholesterol, and phospholipid to total cholesterol in serum were significantly increased as compared with those of the control group. 2. In the Schizandrae Fructus herbal-acupuncture group, HMG-CoA reductase activity was significantly decreased as compared with those of the control group. 3. Schizandrae Fructus herbal-acupuncture reduced deposit of lipid in the liver tissue. Conclusions : From the above results, it is suggested that Schizandrae Fructus herbal-acupuncture at $GB_{34}$ has a therapeutic effect on hyperlipidemia.

대용량 한글 텍스트 검색 엔진 HMG의 구현 (Implementation of Very Large Hangul Text Retrieval Engine HMG)

  • 본 논문에서는 영문 텍스트 검색 엔진인 MG(Managing Gigabytes) 시스템과 한글 형태소 분석기 HAM (Hangul Analysis Module)을 이용하여 기가바이트 크기의 텍스트 데이타 처리가 가능한 한글 텍스트 검색 엔진 HMG(Hangul MG)를 구현하였다. 한글 처리를 위해 KSC 5601 완성형 코드를 사용하여 데이타베이스 구축 단계와 질의 처리 단계에서 사용하였다. HMG의 개발을 위해 MG 시스템의 렉시칼 분석기와 파서, 인텍스 구성 모률을 수정하였다. HMG 시스템의 유용성을 보이기 위해 웹에서 한글 소설을 검색할 수 있도록 하는 N NOD (Novel On Demand) 시스템올 구현하였다. HMG 시스템은 한글이 포함된 대규모 전문 검색 시스템의 구축에 활용될 수 있다.

중국 상해지역 20대 전반 여성의 체형연구 (A Study on the Body Types of Women in the 20's Residing in Shanghai, China)

  • As an attempt to improve the seaming of clothes exported to China, this study is intended to strengthen the clothing industry in Korea by providing data on the body figures of Chinese women. Direct measurement was conducted on 193 women aged 19-24 residing in Shanghai, China. Then we classified and identified the body types and characteristics of Chinese women based on the drop values suggested by the National Standard of the People's Republic of China(GB/T 1335.2-1997). The following is a summary and conclusion of this study. 1. The following results were obtained by measuring the body sizes of women aged 19-24 living in Shanghai, China. 2. After having conducted a factor analysis on 111 body measurement items, 15 index items, and 11 calculation items, we were able to deduce a total of 6 factors. 3. We categorized the body types of 19-24 year-old women living in Shanghai, China according to the drop values suggested by GB/T 1335.2-1997 where D-type was added to Y, A, B, and C-types for a total of 5 categories. The characteristics of each body type following the body type structure factor are Y-type for slender type, A-type for standard type, B-type for slightly large type, and C-type for obese type.

Analysis of the Globular Nature of Proteins

  • Numerous restraints and simplifications have been developed for methods that anticipate protein structure to reduce the colossal magnitude of possible conformational states. In this study, we investigated if globularity is a general characteristic of proteins and whether they can be applied as a valid constraint in protein structure simulations with approximated measurements (Gb-index). Unexpectedly, most of the proteins showed strong structural globularity (i.e., mode of approximately 76% similarity to the perfect globe) with only a few percent of proteins being outliers. Small proteins tended to be significantly non-globular ($R^2$=0.79) and the minimum Gb-index showed a logarithmic increase with the increase in protein size ($R^2$=0.62), strongly implying that the non-globular characteristics might be more acceptable for smaller proteins than larger ones. The strong perfect globe-like character and the relationship between small size and the loss of globular structure of a protein may imply that living organisms have mechanisms to aid folding into the globular structure to reduce irreversible aggregation. This also implies the possible mechanisms of diseases caused by protein aggregation, including some forms of trinucleotide repeat expansion-mediated diseases.

대기 굴절률을 이용한 원형레일 기반 지상 SAR 자료의 대기보정 (Atmospheric Correction of Arc-Rail Type GB-SAR Using Refractive Index of Air)

  • 이 논문에서는 중심주파수 9.65 GHz의 X-밴드 안테나를 이용한 원형레일 기반의 지상 SAR(Arc-SAR) 시스템의 반복 실험을 통해 대기 효과를 정량적으로 분석하였다. 안정된 신호 획득을 위해 고정된 삼각삼면반사체 4개를 사용하였는데 이에 의한 신호는 약 43시간에 걸쳐 연속적으로 획득되었다. 분석 결과 반사체는 고정된 상태였지만 약 5 radian(12.4 mm)의 최대 오차를, 총 65회의 실험에 대한 RMSE는 1.62 radian(4 mm)을 보였다. 이러한 위상변화 양상은 온도, 습도, 그리고 기압을 통해 산출되는 대기굴절률의 변화 양상과 높은 상관관계를 보였다. 대기굴절률을 이용한 보정을 선택된 16시간에 대해 적용하였고 보정 결과 RMSE는 1.74 radian(4.3 mm)에서 0.10 radian(0.24 mm)으로 감소하여 보정이 효과적으로 이루어졌음을 확인하였다.

기계학습모델을 통한 응급실 폐렴환자의 사망예측 모델과 기존 예측 모델의 비교 (Predicting the mortality of pneumonia patients visiting the emergency department through machine learning)

  • Objective: Machine learning is not yet widely used in the medical field. Therefore, this study was conducted to compare the performance of preexisting severity prediction models and machine learning based models (random forest [RF], gradient boosting [GB]) for mortality prediction in pneumonia patients. Methods: We retrospectively collected data from patients who visited the emergency department of a tertiary training hospital in Seoul, Korea from January to March of 2015. The Pneumonia Severity Index (PSI) and Sequential Organ Failure Assessment (SOFA) scores were calculated for both groups and the area under the curve (AUC) for mortality prediction was computed. For the RF and GB models, data were divided into a test set and a validation set by the random split method. The training set was learned in RF and GB models and the AUC was obtained from the validation set. The mean AUC was compared with the other two AUCs. Results: Of the 536 investigated patients, 395 were enrolled and 41 of them died. The AUC values of PSI and SOFA scores were 0.799 (0.737-0.862) and 0.865 (0.811-0.918), respectively. The mean AUC values obtained by the RF and GB models were 0.928 (0.899-0.957) and 0.919 (0.886-0.952), respectively. There were significant differences between preexisting severity prediction models and machine learning based models (P<0.001). Conclusion: Classification through machine learning may help predict the mortality of pneumonia patients visiting the emergency department.

Nanocomposite 이용한 NFR Media 커버층 특성연구 (Nanocomposite Cover-layer for NFR Media)

  • [ $TiO_2$ ] nanoparticles are added into UV curable resin to increase the refractive index of the cover-layer which is laminated on the media for cover-layer incident NFR. High refractive index is required for the cover-layer operating for the solid immersion lens optics with high effective numerical aperture. The eyepattern could be achieved from the cover-layer coated 20 GB ROM disc in which the refractive index of the cover-layer was 1.75, but the gap servo was unstable due to the rough surface of the cover-layer. Even though the light loss due to the nanoparticles is not serious, the rough microstructure is developed by adding the nanoparticles in the organic binder material. To achieve smooth surface for the stable gap servo, some special techniques should be added, for example the solubility of the nanoparticles should be enhanced by the optimization of the surface of the nanoparticles.

산란계 사료에 게르마늄 흑운모의 첨가가 난각특성 및 분내 유해가스 함량에 미치는 영향 (Influence of Dietary Germanium Biotite on Egg Quality and Fecal Noxious Gas Content in Laying Hens)

  • 본 연구는 산란계 사료내 게르마늄 흑운모의 첨가가 난각 특성 및 분내 암모니아 함량에 미치는 영향을 조사하기 위하여 실시되었다. 사양시험에 40주령 ISA brown 갈색계 144수를 이용하였으며, 옥수수-대두박 위주 대조사료 (CON), 게르마늄 흑운모 0.5%(GB0.5), 1.0%(GB1.0) 및 1.5%(GB1.5) 첨가구 등4개 처리로 구성되었다. 총 56일간의 사양시험 기간동안, 산란율과 난각강도에서는 처리간에 차이를 보이지 않았다. 그러나 난중은 게르마늄 흑운모의 첨가수준이 증가함에 따라 유의적으로 감소하는 경향을 나타내었다. (P<0.02). 난각두께, 난황색 및 난황계수에서는 처리구간에 차이를 보이지 않았다. 혈장내 중성지질 함량에 있어서는 게르마늄 흑운모의 첨가수준이 증가함에 따라 유의적으로 증가하는 경향을 나타내었다 (P<0.05). 분내 암모니아태 질소 농도는 게르마늄 흑운모의 첨가수준이 증가함에 따라 유의적으로 감소되는 경향을 보였다 (P<0.01). 또한 게르마늄 흑운모의 첨가수준이 증가함에 따라 분내 propionic acid (P<0.01), butyric acid (P<0.05) 그리고 acetic aicd (P<0.04)의 함량이 유의적으로 감소하는 경향을 나타내었다. 결과적으로 산란계 사료내 게르마늄 흑운모의 첨가는 분내 암모니아가스의 발생을 감소시킬 수 있을 것으로 사료된다.
