In an EMS (Electromagnetic suspension)-type Maglev (Magnetically-levitated) vehicle, the flexibility of the bogie frame may affect the acceleration of the electromagnet that is input into the control system, which could lead to instability in some cases. For this reason, it is desirable to consider bogie frame flexibility in air gap simulations, for the optimization of bogie structure. The objective of this paper is to develop a flexible multibody dynamic model of 1/2 of an EMS-type Maglev vehicle that is under testing, and to compare the air gap responses obtained from the rigid and the flexible body model. The feedback control system and electromagnet models that are unique to the EMS-type maglev vehicle must be included in the model. With this model, dynamics simulations are carried out to predict the air gap responses from the two models, of the rigid and flexible model, and the air gaps are compared. Such a comparative study could be useful in the prediction of the air gap in the design stage, and in designing an air gap control system.
A relatively simple model of a buried structure response to a surface loading that can simulate a possible opening and closure of a gap between the soil and the structure is presented. Analysis of the response of small and medium scale buried roof slabs under surface impulsive loading shows that the model's predictions are in fairly good agreement with the experimental results. Application of the model to a study case shows the relative influence of system parameters such as, the depth of burial, the arching coefficient, and the roof thickness, on the interface pressure and on the roof displacement. This model demonstrates the effect of a gap between the structure and the soil. The relative importance of including a gap opening and closure in the analysis is examined by the application of the model to a study case. This study results show that the deeper the depth of burial, the longer the gap duration, and the shorter the duration of the initial interface impact, while the higher the soil's shear resistance, the higher the gap duration, and the shorter the initial interface impact duration.
This study reviews qualitatively the flow characteristics around th tidal gap during seadike closures using a three-dimensional model for shallow water equations. The Princeton Ocean Model(POM) was adapted and applied to the Sihwa Seadike which was closed in 1994. The simulated flow patterns around the gap showed that tidal velocities increase with the cross-sectional area during ebb tide. The accelerated flow extended to wider zones passing the gap, and shock waves were generated. Vertical tidal velocity profiles were affected as the bottom scours developed beyond normal conditions.
Forest stand development in Kwangnung Experimental Forest, Korea, was simulated with a forest succession gap model of the JABOWA/FORET type, in order to predict climax species and characterime the trend of community structure along the succession. The model runs for a period or 1, 000 yr and is based on the averaged successional characteristics of 50 forest plote with an individual size or 1/12 ha gap consisted of the 15 major tree species. The total bimass and leafarea index have arrived at a steady state since about 200 yr and these values are smaller than that or field survey. Carpinus cordata, C. laxiflora, Quercus mongolica and Q. serrata were epected to be climax species that represent about 86% or total biomass in later stage and these results coincided with the previous succession studies from field survey in the area.
Because of power consumption increase, global warming, and limitation of installation, not only high reliability and interruption capability but also compact and light power apparatuses are needed. In this paper, various models that short and long gap distance were used to analyze E field of each model. Calculation value was estimated of flashover position. As a result, short and long gap distance that vacuum interrupter inner between move electrode and fix electrode not coincided flashover position of each model. short gap distance estimated flashover position at electrode edge. but long gap distance model confirmed $E_{max}$ value at center shield. in this paper was compared electric field value. and estimated of flashover position from electric field calculation.
This paper proposes an effective assistant model for considering the stator slot-opening effect on air gap flux density distribution in conventional interior-type permanent magnet (IPM) motor. Different from the conventional slot-opening effect analysis in surface-type PM (SPM) motor, a composite effect of slot-opening uniquely existing in IPM motor, which additionally causes enhancement of air gap flux density due to magnet flux path distortion in iron core between the buried PM and rotor surface. This phenomenon is represented by a proposed assistant model, which simply deals with this additional effect by modifying magnetic pole-arc using an effective method. The validity of this proposed analytical model is applied to predict the air gap flux density distribution in an IPM motor model and confirmed by finite element method (FEM).
Narrow gap welding has many advantages over conventional V-grooved butt welding such as high productivity, small deformation and improved mechanical property of joints. With narrower groove gap, less arc heat input is expected will all the other advantages of narrow gap welding. The main defects of narrow gap welding include the lack of root fusion, convex bead surface and irregular surface, all of which have negative effects on the next welding pass. This paper suggests an up-and-down torch oscillation for ultra narrow gap welding with gap size of 5mm and investigates the proper welding conditions to fulfill the reliable and high welding quality. First, GMA welding model was suggested for ultra narrow gap welding system with Halmoy's model referenced for wire melting modeling. And the arc length in ultra narrow gap was defined. Secondly, based on the experimental results of up-and-down torch oscillation welding, phase shift of current and wire extension length were simulated for varying oscillation frequency to show that weld the bead shape in ultra narrow gap welding can be predicted. As the result, it was confirmed that reliable weld quality in ultra narrow gap welding can be achieved with up-and-down torch oscillation above 15Hz due to its ability to provide uniform heat input along the sidewall of gap.
수정된 PCX(parent-centric recombination) 연산자와 결합한 두 가지 새로운 세대차 모델이 제안된다.
1D-numerical analysis of the network algorithm with the orifice equation for the relationship between pressure difference and flowrate has been mostly used to analyse leakage flow at the gap. In this study, a 3D-numerical method applying momentum loss model to the gap region in the computational domain is represented to reflect effectively the effect of leakage flow by determining the proportion of pressure difference to air passage velocity. While the 3D-numerical method is verified through the computation of the two compartments model, the numerical analysis of the stack effect in a building stairway is performed. As the temperature of air outside drops, the pressure in the upper stairway and leakage flowrate through the gap in the door rise. The change of gap area does not have an effect on pressure in the stairway for the analysis conditions.
This paper represents the response surface model for the cell gap on the flexible liquid crystal display (LCD) process. Using response surface methodology (RSM). D-optimal design is carried out to build the design space and the cell gap is characterized by the quadratic model. The statistical analysis is used to verify the response surface model. This modeling technique can predict the characteristics of the desired response, cell gap, varying with process conditions.
