Expert Systems as a Search Intermediary

  • 본 논문은 인공지능(artificial intelligence) 및 전문가 시스템(expert system)의 기본 개념과 이에 적용되고 있는 특정한 기술인 퍼지 이론(fuzzy logic)을 논하고 있으며, 지난 몇 년 동안 탐색 중개인으로서의 전문가 시스템을 조사해 보았다. 이러한 전문가 시스템은 1) 특정한 데이터베이스에 관련된 질문서 작성을 도와주며, 2) 탐색용어나 데이터베이스 선정에 관한 결정을 보조하고, 3) 탐색중에 있는 이용자에게 조언(助言)을 해주고 있다. 또한 전문가 시스템을 개발하는 에 있어 어려움 및 제한점(制限點)을 논의하고 있다.

  • 본 논문에서는 퍼지수리계획법에 의한 최적화 문제의 해 분석에 ASP(Active Server Page)를 적용한 알고리즘을 제시하였다. 수리문제에서 목적함수의 목표와 제약조건의 만족도레벨의 애매성을 다루는데 있어서 퍼지 이론은 강력한 도구가 되고 있다. 제시한 알고리즘은 IEEE-30모선 시스템을 이용하여 유효성을 검증하였다.

  • In this Paper, we present a new efficient algorithm that can segment an object in the image. There are many algorithms for segmentation and many studies for criteria or threshold value. But, if the environment or brightness is changed, their would not be suitable. Accordingly, we apply a clustering algorithm for adopting and compensating environmental factors. And applying labeling method, we try arranging segment by the similarity that calculated with the fuzzy algorithm. we also present simulations for searching an object and show that the algorithm is somewhat more efficient than the other algorithm.

  • The detection of pulmonary blood vessels is very difficult owing to their complex tree structures and different widths. In this paper, We propose a new detection algorithm. The motivation of this algorithm is that Han is the best detector. So, this algorithm is developed to imitate the human searching process. To realize it, the algorithm consist of two components. One is Pyramid Images whose one pixel is median value of four pixels of the previous low level. Searching gradually from high level to low level, We concentrate on global and main information of structure at the first. Then based on it, We search the detailed data in low level. The other is fuzzy logic which makes it easy to convert searching process expressed as human language into numeric multi_value. This algorithm showes speedy and robust results. But the more study on both human searching process and the detection of small part is needed.

  • The Distribution System consist of many tie-line switches and sectionalizing switches, operated a radial type. When an outage occurs in Distribution System, outage areas are isolated by system switches, has to restored as soon as possible. At this time, system operator have to get a information about network topology for service restoration of outage areas. Therefore, the searching result of restorative topology has to fast computation time and reliable result topology for to restore a electric service to outage areas, equal to optimal switching operation problem. So, the problem can be defined as combinatorial optimization problem. The service restoration problem is so important problem which have outage area minimization, outage loss minimization. Many researcher is applying to the service restoration problem with various techniques. In this paper, advanced Dijkstra algorithm is applied to searching a restoration topology, is so efficient to searching a shortest path in graph type network. Additionally, fuzzy rules and operator are applied to overcome a fuzziness of correlation with input data. The present technique has superior results which are fast computation time and searching results than previous researches, demonstrated by example distribution model system which has 3 feeders, 26 buses. For a application capability to real distribution system, additionally demonstrated by real distribution system of KEPCO(Korea Electric Power Corporation) which has 8 feeders and 140 buses.

퍼지탐색을 이용한 머신비전 기반의 소형 튜브 내경측정 알고리즘 (Radius-Measuring Algorithm for Small Tubes Based on Machine Vision using Fuzzy Searching Method)

  • 본 논문에서는 튜브의 내부에 이물질이 있거나, 조명에 의한 영상잡음이 많은 경우에도 내경중심과 내경을 정확하게 측정할 수 있는 머신비전 기반의 새로운 측정알고리즘을 제안하였다. 또한 내경과 외경 중심간의 이격거리인 편심량도 계산할 수 있다. 제안된 알고리즘은 퍼지제어에 바탕을 둔 반복탐색에 의하여 임의의 초기탐색점에서 거리와 방향을 단계적으로 이동함으로써 내경의 중심에 도달하게 한다. 제안된 알고리즘은 계산시간 뿐만 아니라 측정정밀도 면에도 기존의 방법에 비해 우수하였다. 성능을 비교하기 위하여 생산현장에서 생산되는 튜브들을 이용하여 실험을 수행하였고, 실험 결과 제안된 알고리즘을 사용하는 경우가 널리 사용되고 있는 알고리즘인 Hough 변환 방식과 RANSAC 방식보다 계산시간 및 측정정밀도에서 우수함을 보였다.

User modeling based on fuzzy category and interest for web usage mining

  • Web usage mining is a research field for searching potentially useful and valuable information from web log file. Web log file is a simple list of pages that users refer. Therefore, it is not easy to analyze user's current interest field from web log file. This paper presents web usage mining method for finding users' current interest based on fuzzy categories. We consider not only how many times a user visits pages but also when he visits. We describe a user's current interest with a fuzzy interest degree to categories. Based on fuzzy categories and fuzzy interest degrees, we also propose a method to cluster users according to their interests for user modeling. For user clustering, we define a category vector space. Experiments show that our method properly reflects the time factor of users' web visiting as well as the users' visit number.

The implementation of the Multi-population Genetic Algorithm using Fuzzy Logic Controller

  • A Genetic algorithm is a searching algorithm that based on the law of the survival of the fittest. Multi-population Genetic Algorithms are a modified form of genetic algorithm. Therefore, experience with fuzzy logic and genetic algorithm has proven to be that a combination of them can efficiently make up for their own deficiency. The Multi-population Genetic Algorithms independently evolve subpopulations. In this paper, we suggest a new coding method that independently evolves subpopulations using the fuzzy logic controller. The fuzzy logic controller has applied two fuzzy logic controllers that are implemented to adaptively adjust the crossover rate and mutation rate during the optimization process. The migration scheme in the multi-population genetic algorithms using fuzzy logic controllers is tested for a function optimization problem, and compared with other group migration schemes, therefore the groups migration scheme is then performed. The results demonstrate that the migration scheme in the multi-population genetic algorithms using fuzzy logic controller has a much better performance.

  • In this paper, for the fuzzy-reaching law method which has the characteristic of elimination of chattering at sliding mode as well as the characteristic of fast response at the design of variable structure controller with reaching law, optimal solutions for the determination of parameters of fuzzy membership functions by using genetic algorithm are proposed. Generally, the design of fuzzy controller has difficulties in determining the parameters of fuzzy membership functions by using a tedious trial-and-error process. To overcome these difficulties, this paper develops genetic algorithm of an optimal searching method based on genetic operation, and to verify the validity of this proposed method it is simulated through 2 link robot manipulator.

  • In this study, an adaptive evolutionary computation (AEC), which uses adaptively a genetic algorithm having global searching capability and an evolution strategy having local searching capability with different methodologies, is suggested. We applied the AEC to design of fuzzy logic controllers for a PSS (power system stabilizer). FLCs for PSS controllers are designed for damping the low frequency oscillations caused by disturbances such as tile sudden changes of loads, outages in generators, transmission line faults, etc. The membership functions of FLCs is optimally determined by AEC.
