There can be little dissension that the ultimate goal of all physical therapy interventions with the elderly is to restore or maintain the highest level of function possible for the individual. Whenever physical therapists take on this challenge, they assist elders in maintaining their identities as competent adults. Advancing age is associated with profound changes in body composition, including increased fat mass, decreased fat-free mass(particularly muscle), decreased total body water and decreased bone density. Along with these changes in body compositions, and perhaps as a direct result of them, elderly people have lower energy needs, reduced strength and functional capacity and a greatly increased risk for such diseases as noninsulin-dependent diabetes mellitus and osteoporosis. Resistance training is considered a promising intervention for reversing the loss of muscle function and the deterioration of muscle structure that is associated with advanced age. This reversal is thought to result in improvements in functional abilities and health status in the elderly by increasing muscle mass, strength and power and by increasing bone mineral density. In the past couple of decades, many studies have examined the effects of Resistance training on risk factors for age-related diseases or disabilities. We have explored the positive and negative aspects of older adults' participation in resistance training programs. The benefits to older adults are reported to be increased strength, endurance, muscle capacity, and flexibility; more energy; and improved self-image and confidence. The negative aspects include some pain or stiffness and other nonspecific problems. The positive and negative aspects of resistance training are therefore very similar to those in younger populations. Scientific investigations over the past 10 years have demonstrated that resistance training can be safely and successfully implemented in older populations. Even the frail and very sick elderly can benefit and improve their quality of life. Proper design and progression of a resistance training program for older adults is vital to optimal benefits from resistance exercise. The results of data provided by this research on resistance training for health shows that there is enough existing evidence to conclude that resistance training, particularly when incorporated into a comprehensive fitness program, can offer substantial health benefits which can be obtained by persons of all ages. These benefits, including improvements in functional capacity, translate into an improved quality of life.

In this paper, we study the conflict management plan of the organization in the age of convergence. More specifically, we reveal the impact of the conflict according to behavior of the leader. To this purpose, The behavior of the leader were classified as Supportive Leader and Controlled Leader, and forms of Resistance wert classified as Functional Resistance and Dysfunctional Resistance that results of the conflict. Also, Psychological Contract Violation and Breach was set up as a mediate variable. The results were as follows. First, When employee resistance comes up in the organization, Support behavior of Leaders leads to desirable changes in the organization through the functional and constructive resistance. In contrast, Controlled behavior of Leaders leads the destructive and dysfunctional resistance of employee. Second, Since the perception that the follower is receiving assistance to leaders, it reduces the perception of psychological contract violation, but Controlled leader is largely perceived as the Psychological Contract Violation to the followers. Third, Supportive Leader is not influence the affect of employee, and They resolve the Conflict in objective and positive way. Therefore, the results of this study have many theoretical and practical implications.
This study analyzed the effects of smart phone using for business on work performance in the field. We classified functional and practical aspects of smart phone affecting employee's work performance through former studies. As independent variables, we selected portability of equipment, rapidity of information and ease of use for functional side, and selected fit to work and subjective norms for practical side. And dependent variable was work performance. We also suggested that innovation resistance would be a moderator. The results showed that the effect of work performance was influenced by portability of equipment and fit to work. However, hypotheses on moderating effects of innovation resistance were not supported. This study made a discrimination in terms of an application phase of smart phone as against former studies. The results of this study will provide practical implications for related enterprises in the field to develop ways of using smart phone as an effective strategy.

Recently, household electronic industries require environmentally-friendly and highly functional steels in order to enhance the quality of human life. Customers especially require both excellent corrosion and abrasion resistant anti-fingerprint steels for digital TV panels. Thus POSCO has developed new functional electro-galvanized steels, which have double coated layers with organic-inorganic composites on the zinc surface of the steel for usage as the bottom chassis panel of TVs. The inorganic solution for the bottom layer consists of inorganic phosphate, magnesium, and zirconium compounds with a small amount of epoxy binder, and affords both improved adhesion properties by chemical conversion reactions and corrosion resistance due to a self-healing effect. The composite solution for the top layer was prepared by fine dispersion of organic-inorganic ingredients that consist of a urethane modified polyacrylate polymer, hardener, silica sol and a titanium complex inhibitor in aqueous media. Both composite solutions were coated on the steel surface by using a roll coater and then cured through an induction furnace in the electro-galvanizing line. New anti-fingerprint steel was evaluated for quality performance through such procedures as the salt spray test for corrosion resistance, tribological test for abrasion resistance, and conductivity test for surface electric conductance regarding to both types of polymer resin and coating weight of composite solution. New composite coated anti-fingerprint steels afford both better corrosion resistance and abrasion properties compared to conventional anti-fingerprint steel that mainly consists of acrylate polymers. Detailed discussions of both composite solutions and experimental results suggest that urethane modifications of acrylate polymers of composite solutions play a key role in enhanced quality performances.

This study analyses the level of resistance which workers have against the adoption of ERP systems and the factors affecting the resistance to the adoption of the new systems. The major results of the study include 1) about 40% of workers showed resistance to the adoption of ERP systems, and 2) all six factors (technical characteristics of ERP system, functional characteristics of ERP system, implementation approach, task changes caused by the adoption of ERP system, attitude toward change, and altitude toward organization) were proved to affect the resistance to the adoption of the ERP systems. In practice, adoption of ERP system brings significant changes to workers. In order for an organization to succeed, it is necessary to reduce the resistance of workers. Since this study is performed based on a case study, the results of the study may not be generalized. However, the results of the study may provide guidance which organizations can refer in the course of effective personnel management.

Electromagnetic interference shielding composite with low density ($1.18g/cm^3$) was fabricated using electroless plated FeCo magnetic metal hollow fibers and ethylene propylene diene monomer (EPDM) polymer. Aspect ratio of the fibers were controlled and their hollow structure was obtained by heat treatment process. The FeCo hollow fibers were then mixed with EPDM to manufacture the composite. The higher aspect ratio of the magnetic metal hollow fibers resulted in high electromagnetic interference shielding effectiveness (30 dB) of the composite due to its low sheet resistance (30 ohm/sq). The enhanced electromagnetic interference shielding effectiveness was mainly attributed to the formation of conducting network over the percolation threshold by high aspect ratio of fibers as well as an increase of the reflection loss by impedance mismatch owing to low sheet resistance, absorption loss, and multiple internal reflections loss.
Based on the Merritt-Cummins system, the Korean immature aquatic and semiaquatic insects were reviewed and categorized into 6 different functional feeding groups (FFG) at the generic levels (257 genera belonging to 96 families, 10 orders),Among 257 genera, the most abundant FFG was the predator type consisting of 122(47%) genera. The second and third major groups were gathering-collectors (33genera, 13%) and shredders (21, 8%), respectively. Next group was occupied by scrapers (20,7%), and followed by filtering-collectors (12,5%) and plant-piercers (6, 2%). In addition, a total of 43 genera in 7 orders were remained as uncategorized groups. Both relative degrees of resistance and resilience of each genus were also analyzed to evaluate the role of each FFG in maintaining community stability. The results elucidated that the gathering-collectors and the scrapers could play a role as a pioneer group and a functional mediator in the community, respectively. The results also indicated that the practical use of relative resistance and resilience degrees could be applied to conduct comprehensive studies in stream ecosystems.

Jeju island is the largest island of South Korea, and has a relatively warm climate due to its geographical characteristics. These features have fostered development of various fermented foods distinct to Jeju island. Therefore, the functional activity of the lactic acid bacteria (LAB) isolated from the Jeju region's traditional fermented foods, including Kimchi and Jeotgal was characterized in this study. Fifteen strains were isolated from 6 types of fermented food. These strains include Enterococcus spp., Lactoplantibacillus spp., and Weisella spp. Several experiments were carried out to assess functional characteristics including acid resistance, bile resistance, hemolysis, DPPH and ABTS radical scavenging activity, and cholesterol-lowering activity. Three isolated strains (J-4, J-6 and J-10) exhibited high acid resistance, while the other 3 isolates (J-1, J-4 and J-6) showed high bile salt resistance. The strains displayed varied DPPH and ABTS radical scavenging activity: 71.14-86.42% among the first 3 strains, and 50.11-75.11% among the remaining 3 strains. Cholesterol-lowering activities were in the range 15.74-82.90% for all isolated strains. In conclusion, these studies suggest that isolated LAB strains from Jeju island traditional fermented foods possess the potential for broader application in the food industry.

Cemented uranium tailings backfill created from alkali-activated slag (CUTB) is an effective method of disposing of uranium tailings. Using some environmental functional minerals with ion exchange, adsorption, and solidification abilities as backfill modified materials may improve the leaching resistance of the CUTB. Natural zeolite, which has good ion exchange and adsorption characteristics, is selected as the backfill modified material, and it is added to the backfill materials with cementitious material proportions of 4%, 8%, 12%, and 16% to prepare CUTB mixtures with environmental functional minerals. After the addition of natural zeolite, the uniaxial compressive strength (UCS) of the CUTB decreases, but the leaching resistance of the CUTB increases. When the natural zeolite content is 12%, the UCS reaches the minimum value of 8.95 MPa, and the concentration of uranium in the leaching solution is 0.28-8.07 mg/L, the leaching rate R42 is 9.61×10-7 cm/d, and cumulative leaching fraction P42 is 8.53×10-4 cm, which shows that the alkali-activated slag cementitious material has a good curing effect on the CUTB, and the addition of environmental functional minerals helps to further improve the leaching resistance of the CUTB, but it reduces the UCS to an extent.
