YjiC, a glycosyltransferase from Bacillus licheniformis, is a well-known versatile enzyme for glycosylation of diverse substrates. Although a number of O-glycosylated products have been produced using YjiC, no report has been updated for nucleophilic N-, S-, and C- glycosylation. Here, we report the additional functional capacity of YjiC for nucleophilic N- and S- glycosylation using a broad substrate spectrum including UDP-α-D-glucose, UDP-N-acetyl glucosamine, UDP-N-acetylgalactosamine, UDP-α-D-glucuronic acid, TDP-α-L-rhamnose, TDP-α-D-viosamine, and GDP-α-L-fucose as donor and various amine and thiol groups containing natural products as acceptor substrates. The results revealed YjiC as a promiscuous enzyme for conjugating diverse sugars at amine and thiol functional groups of small molecules applicable for generating glycofunctionalized chemical diversity libraries. The glycosylated products were analyzed using HPLC and LC/MS and compared with previous reports.

With the advancement and diversification of the bread industry, eco-friendly products with less sugar and salt, and containing functional ingredients are being developed. To develop healthy bread, Korean pine leaf powder was added in different proportions (0%, 1%, 3%, 5%, and 7%), and the quality characteristics of the bread, namely height, moisture, color value, texture, antioxidant property, and sensory characteristics were evaluated. As the amount of leaf powder was increased in the bread, L-value in the range of 53.45~85.05 (p<0.001) and adhesiveness in the range of 0.13~0.32 mJ (p<0.001) decreased significantly, whereas b-value in the range of 16.75~30.74 (p<0.001), total polyphenol content in the range of 466.83~669.13 ug/mL, ABTS- in the range of 0.46~43.23%, DPPH-radical in the range of 1.39~45.76%, scavenging capacities (p<0.001), color in the range of 3.27~5.40 (p=0.017) and texture in the range of 4.33~4.80 (p=0.006) preferences increased significantly. This study could increase the utilization of Korean pine leaf and the production of healthy food with antioxidant properties.

Algal genomics approaches provide a massive number of genome/transcriptome sequences and reveal the evolutionary history vis-à-vis primary and serial endosymbiosis events that contributed to the biodiversity of photosynthetic eukaryotes in the eukaryote tree of life. In particular, phylogenomic methods using several hundred or thousands of genes have provided new insights into algal taxonomy and systematics. Using this method, many novel insights into algal species diversity and systematics occurred, leading to taxonomic revisions. In addition, horizontal gene transfers (HGTs) of functional genes have been identified in algal genomes that played essential roles in environmental adaptation and genomic diversification. Finally, algal genomics data can be used to address the pangenome, including core genes shared among all isolates and partially shared strain-specific genes. However, some aspects of the pangenome concept (genome variability of intraspecies level) conflict with population genomics concepts, and the issue is closely related to defining species boundaries using genome variability. This review suggests a desirable future direction to merge algal pangenomics and population genomics beyond traditional molecular phylogeny and taxonomy.

The functions of the clothing have been changed rapidly in modern society. That means people want to show oneself strongly by the clothing. In other words, the social aspect of the clothing's function which is the expression of own's personality and satisfaction one's desire is emphasized. This study is aimed at taking a look at the functions of modern clothing. The modern clothing has the various functions which are related to the changing of the social system. The result of the study are as follows: With the differentiation of society and institutionalization, the clothing is recognized as the medium which shows one's status and is restricted by people. In modern society as mass society, the system of the social position collapsed. People has the inclination to express own's consciousness, personality and existence intensely. Also, the functions of clothing became diverse. That means the clothing is influenced by the human's consciousness, a sense of values and became the medium which reflects the people's life. This change of the costume means the clothing focus on the functional factor of the free-style clothing getting out of rational value. Therefore, the change of clothing is not the change of the design but the change of value of the clothing, one's way of thinking about the clothing, the change of human life in whole society and the culture. With the changing way of life, the change of the clothing has the system in which the design changes. Therefore, I found that the we have to take a look not the change of the factors which influence the fashion but the functions of the clothing itself.

This article was intended as fundamental materials to recognize the current status of furniture hard ware in Korean market and to fix the identity of Korean furniture, by investigating and comparing the furniture hard ware used in the Joseon era and in modern times by type, function, shape and material. The analysis of furniture hard ware of the Joseon era and modern times from the view of functional aspects was oriented to the hard ware necessary to open and close the door & drawer on one side, and to that being attached to the main body of furniture not to scratch the wood by another wood on the other side, and from this the following conclusion was drawn. First of all, "Gwangdoojung" - a kind of spike- and metal decoration on the edge of the furniture disappeared, while the function-oriented hard wares have been diversified in modern times, from the perspective of the change of kinds. Second, the functional aspect of the furniture hard ware was emphasized in modern times than the Joseon era. In other words, the hard wares of the Joseon era came into view due to their strong appeal to decoration, whereas those of modern times were mostly hidden or moderated, keeping the function substantially. Third, the hard wares from the Joseon era were shown in concrete and detailed shape motivated by natural objects and furthermore even gloriously, but the modern hard wares are simple & basic geometry, from a formative point of view. Fourth, the material aspects present that the Joseon era's hard ware was mainly cast iron, whereas that of modern times shows the diversification from metal to even plastic. Finally, the recent trend in naming of the hard wares is the words of foreign origin. This resulted from that the foreign names of hard wares are valid also after import process in Korean market, so the domestic development of hard ware as the essential factor for the furniture design is urgently necessary to establish the identity of Korean modern furniture.

Arcade game up until early 2000 had been highly influential and profitable industry that occupied most of the market share for the Korean domestic game industry. However, extensive and yet tightened restrictions were imposed to the industry in 2006 due to the problems of speculative games such as winning rate manipulation, serious addictiveness, and etc. This resulted in damaging healthy arcade game business and eventually caused it seemingly impossible to comeback up until now. This study is to address the current arcade game industry in Korea along with the best practices in other countries to come up with propositions for the comeback of domestic arcade game industry and improvement of competitiveness. Ultimately it is to develop diversification and flexibility and to induce new business opportunities in the domestic arcade game industry by proposing the ways to convert the bad perception and introduction of functional games.

The problem of common difficulties for the implemented business that imposing the Value Engineering(VE) is crucial. Because of the difference in effect of VE by how an abstract concept as function digitize. Furthermore, to improve achievement of VE,, the advancement of VE is demanded. The most of business conducting the VE is pushing this method with the purpose of cost reduction. As explaining this product, the cost occupies the desktop of F1 and the component of product 54% with the result of analyzing the coefficient of functional requirement. Then the functional cost can be confirmed. Through the result of this study, the fact that the desktop, the bluetooth, the probe occupy the most of products with satisfying the function is able to confirm. An effort for cost reduction in purchasing through adjusting a stable quality demanded for the cost reduction is needed. Also, another effort of proper price reduction by diversification of buyer business is needed also.

The most presentative case would be functional evolution of webtoon as a contents business model, which has taken a initiating role in both innovated strategic experiments and outcomes. Most of all, There are the launch of PPS(Page Profit Sharing) sevice in NAVER webtoon, the paid service model implementation in KAKAOpage and potential business as an exclusive application in Lezhin entertainment This study to analyze these phenomina and results can figure out how the business model in the webtoon platform is developed in various fields diversely and what makes this model evolved and extended. Especially, the diversification of the webtoon platform has been received attention since it pursued the grouped spin off through horizontal convergence and transformational expansion among similar platforms, and also this shows that which factors enhance these phenomina to be controled and expanded. On the basis of the result of this study, we try to find the way to connect business vision of the domestic webtoon platform with affiliated business. Furthermore, it proposes the interrelationship between this and the business strategy for overseas in the globalized platform.

Gene expression of two glyceraldehyde-3-phosphate dehydrogenase (GAPDH) paralogs was examined during Edwardsiella tarda challenge and heavy metal exposures in mud loach (Misgurnus mizolepis; Cypriniformes) kidney and spleen. Transcription of the two mud loach GAPDH paralogs (mlGAPDH-1 and mlGAPDH-2) was significantly modulated by these stimulatory challenges in an isoform-dependent manner. Based on the real-time RT-PCR analysis, the mlGAPDH-2 transcripts were more preferentially induced by E. tarda challenge, whereas the mlGAPDH-1 transcripts were proven to show more inducibility in response to heavy metal exposure using Cd, Cu, Mn and Zn at $5{\mu}M$. Their isoform-specific response patterns were closely in accordance with the TF binding profiles in promoter and intron-1 of the two mlGAPDH isoforms, in which the mlGAPDH-2 has more binding sites for immune-related transcription factors than mlGAPDH-1 while the mlGAPDH-1 possesses exclusively metal responsive elements in its intron. Collectively, the mlGAPDHs are potentially involved in cellular pathways independent of glycolysis and the two GAPDH paralogs might undergo functional diversification or subfunctionalization at least at the transcription level.

This study is including the independent project, "building children's library of the town" that is conducted by a local resident. The study object is the contents of the "design workshop for library planning" and the general process during one year since the opening. This study is delivering "information of children's library" through the work-shop and is conducting the role of a professional space planner by measuring the blueprint. Thus, the study could be conducted with synthetic viewpoint on each library. The followings are the results from the study. First, there were various space operations and a variety of programs in the case library that is independently managed. This is directing to "the constructive and active space usage" by the users and finally results in positive circulation. Secondly, there is a change through the process of execution and operation in the library construction plan. There are needs for the flexible space expansion and adjustment, modifiable furniture layout and design and various keeping areas because there is on-going tendency of corresponding space change. The third, the author could draw more practicable consideration points for space planning by looking at the trend of space change in Transactionist viewpoint. Thus, this study is very meaningful in terms of planning of sustainable public areas.
