직분식 디젤기관 전자분사계의 광검출기 적용에 관한 연구 (A Study on Application of the Photo Detector for Electromagnetic Fuel Injection System of DI Diesel Engine)

  • Increasing stringent emissions legislation and requirement of more effective energy used for diesel engine demand the fine control of the fuel injection system. Recently, the electromagnetic fuel injection control system for diesel engine is tried to realize the optimum diesel combustion by the feel back sensing as optical signal of combustion flame. The photo detectors were made for the feed back signal of electromagnetic fuel injection control for small DI diesel engine. Their abilities to detect defining combustion events were examined. By evaluating test results, it was shown that the wider acceptable optical range design of optical probe window face, and selection of installation position and installation method of detector were important point for improving sensing ability. The detector was shown to detect start and end of diffused combustion and maximum point of flame intensity impossible for pressure sensor, and also shown that the maximum point of flame intensity was 75% of accumulated heat release point within the experimental conditions.

  • 본 연구에서는 기화기부착 4행정 4기통 전기점화기관을 사용하여 흡기관내 액 막흐름에 의한 연료의 불균일화가 기관의 연소특성과 배기특성에 미치는 영향을 규명 하는데 궁극적인 목적을 두고 우선, 연소특성을 해석하기 위하여 비교적 고가인 연소 해석 시스템을 개발하는데 1차적인 목적으로 하였으며, 시험제작한 연소해석 시스템으 로 액막흐름의 가시화 및 배기가스 농도측정과 지압선도 해석을 행하여 구조적으로 대 칭인 1번과 4번 실린더의 연소특성과 배기특성을 비교 검토하였다.

Emulsion(B.C유+폐수)연료의 연소효율에 관한 실험적 연구 (An Experimental Study on the Combustion Characteristics of Wastewater-Emulsion Fuel)

  • Emulsion 연료는 연료절감과 오염방지특성에 의하여 많은 관심을 끌고 있다. 본 연구에서는 B-C유와 Emulsion 연료(B-C유와 폐수를 혼합하여 만든 연료)의 연소효율을 비교 분석하였다. 보일러의 양쪽에 R-Type Thermocouple과 광학온도계를 설치하였고, 연소가스배출구에 연소측정기를 설치하여 B-C유와 Emulsion 연료의 연소시 화염의 온도, 연소율 및 배기가스 농도를 측정 비교하였다. 이에 대한 실험 결과로서, 보일러 전$.$후반부의 화염온도는 B-C유의 화염온도보다 약 5$0^{\circ}C$ 낮았고, 이러한 온도차이의 원인은 Emulsion 연료의 폐수 속 수분 잠열로 인한 것으로 사료되어진다. 또한 Emulsion연료를 사용하였을 때 배출가스의 분석 결과는 오염물질의 같소 및 CO 농도 또한 매우 낮게 측정되어짐을 나타내고 있다. 3-C유와 Emulsion 연료의 연소 효율은 각각 85.5%와 84.8%이다.

바이오에멀젼 연료의 연소 특성 (Combustion Characteristics of Bio Emulsion Fuel)

  • 본 연구에서는 바이오매스로서 코코넛 폐기물을 $600^{\circ}C$에서 열분해하여 생성된 수상오일(water soluble oil)을 얻었다. 선박유로 사용되는 MDO(Marine Diesel Oil)와 바이오매스로서 코코넛 폐기물을 열분해하여 생성된 수상오일을 MDO에 15~20% 까지 혼합 후 유화시켜 제조된 바이오에멀젼 연료의 연소 특성에 대하여 연구 하였다. 엔진 배출가스 및 온도, 출력을 측정하기 위하여 엔진 다이나모메터를 사용하였다. 바이오에멀젼 연료는 수분이 함유되어 있어서 연소실내의 기화잠열을 빼앗아가 배출가스의 온도를 낮춰주는 것으로 나타났다. 바이오에멀젼 연료에 함유된 수분이 연소실내에서 미세폭발을 일으켜 연료를 잘게 쪼개어 주어 매연을 감소시키는 것으로 나타났다. 바이오에멀젼 연료의 사용으로 연소실내의 온도 감소는 질소산화물 배출을 저감하는 것으로 나타났다. 바이오오일 함유량이 증가 하면 수분함량도 증가하여 전체 발열량이 줄어들게 된다. 따라서 출력이 바이오에멀젼 연료 사용량에 비례하여 감소하는 특성을 나타내었다. 선박용 연료로 사용되는 중질유는 매연과 질소산화물을 많이 배출한다. 선박용 연료로 바이오에멀젼 연료를 사용하면 매연과 질소산화물 배출을 줄여줄 수 있을 것으로 기대된다.

  • It has been observed in experiments that combustion instability of low frequency (${\sim}$ 10Hz) results form the modulation of equivalence ratio at fuel injection hole when a pressure fluctuation propagates upwards along the channel of the burner under an unchoked fuel flow condition. In this study, a commercial program was used to determine how the fuel flow rate changed with respect to the pressure, velocity of the fuel flow and the mass fraction in a choked and an unchoked condition. The calculation focus on the upstream of the dump plane to know how the forced pressure with the fuel injection conditions affects the modulation of the equivalence ratio. Therefore, it is found that pressure fluctuation leads to oscillation of mass flow rate and then results in equivalence ratio modulation under the unchoked fuel flow condition.

  • In this study, the combustion and emission characteristics of waste cooking oil biodiesel was investigated. The fuel was injected from 5 CAD (Crank angle degree) ATDC (After top dead center) to -60 CAD ATDC by 5 CAD with 800 bar and 1600 bar injection pressure. Generally, the hydrocarbon, carbon monoxide and smoke emissions from biodiesel fuel were lower than the emission levels of diesel fuel. However, the emission characteristic of biodiesel got worse than diesel when the fuel was injected earlier than -30 CAD ATDC. $NO_x$ emission from biodeisel was higher than diesel fuel in all experimental conditions.

  • The supersonic combustion experiments are carried out using T3 free-piston shock tunnel. Different shock tube fill pressures have various inflow conditions. $15^{\circ}$ inclined hydrogen fuel injection is located before the cavity. Oblique shock is generated at the trailing edge of the cavity and reflects off the top and bottom wall. For non-reacting flow, static pressures in low equivalence ratio are similar to those in no fuel injection. As equivalence ratio is increased, static pressures are increased in the duct. In the similar equivalence ratio, static pressures are increased when total enthalpy is decreased. For reacting flow, the flame is occurred near the cavity. The combustion is weak locally in the middle of the duct. The up and down pressure distribution in the duct means that the supersonic combustion is generated.

  • Combustion of coke/anthracite in an iron ore sintering bed is characterized quantitatively by introducing newly defined parameters related to propagation and thickness of combustion zone and maximum temperature. The parameters are obtained by sintering pot experiment and I-D, unsteady numerical model which treats solid material as multiple solid phases. Experiments and calculations are performed for various major operating parameters: air inlet velocity, different type of fuels which have different reactivity and diameter of the solid fuel. Effects of the operating parameters on the productivity and quality of the sintering process are investigated and evaluated quantitatively and the results show that optimized air supply rate and diameter of anthracite for replacement of coke can be obtained. This approach can be applied to other kinds of combustors for characterization of the combustion in the solid fuel beds.

  • An oxy-fuel boiler has been developed to capture $CO_2$ from the exhaust gas. FGR (flue gas recirculation) is adopted to be compliant with the retrofit scenario. Numerical simulations have been performed to study the detailed physics inside the combustion chamber of the boiler. The temperature field obtained from the simulation agrees with the flame image from the experiment. The FGR combustion yields similar heat transfer characteristics with the conventional air combustion while the flame is formed further downstream in case of the FGR combustion.

제철 소결기 베드 내 연소 및 열전달 모델링 (Modeling of Combustion and Heat Transfer in the Iron Ore Sintering Bed)

  • Processes in an iron ore sintering bed can characterized as a relatively uniform progress of fuel, cokes combustion and complicated physical change of solid particles. The sintering bed was modelled as an unsteady one-dimensional progress of the fuel layer, containing two phases: solid and gas. Coke added to the raw mix, of which the amount is about 3.5% of the total weight, was assumed to form a single particle with other components. Numerical simulations of the condition in the iron ore sintering bed were performed for various parameters: moisture contents, cokes contents and air suction rates, along with the various particle diameters of the solid for sensitivity analysis. Calculation results showed that the influence of these parameters on the bed condition should be carefully evaluated, in order to achieve self-sustaining combustion without high temperature section. The model should be extended to consider the bed structural change and multiple solid phase, which could treat the inerts and fuel particles separately.
