천연가스자동차 사고사례 및 원인분석 (A Case Study and Analysis of the Causes for Natural Gas Vehicle Accidents)

  • 지난 30년 동안 발생한 천연가스자동차 사고사례를 수집하고 사고원인을 용기의 형태별로 분석하였다. 먼저 국내에서는 지금까지 6건의 사고가 발생하였는데 사고원인으로는 열처리 불량으로 인한 용기파열사고가 3건이고 복합재료의 손상에 의한 용기파열과 천연가스자동차 화재로 인한 용기파열, 그리고 정비불량으로 인한 연료배관 가스누출사고가 각각 1건씩을 기록하고 있다. 국외에서 발생한 사고를 용기 형태별로 살펴보면, 전체 사고용기의 약 29%가 Type I 용기에서 발생하였고, Type IV가 약 24%, Type II가 16%, 그리고 Type III가 14%를 차지하고 있다. 사고원인에 있어서는 원재료 및 제조과정의 오류에 의한 용기파열이 37%로 가장 높았고 용기의 반복사용으로 인한 응력부식균열이 16%로 위 두 가지 사고원인이 전체 사고용기의 절반을 차지하였다. 다음은 PRD의 결함과 과충전으로 인한 용기파열사고가 15%이고 그 밖에 화재 및 원인불명 등이 나머지를 차지하고 있음을 알 수 있다. 이상에서 용기제조자는 용기형태에 관계없이 원재료 및 용기제조공정의 품질관리와 라이너의 부식을 방지하는 도장을 강화해야 하고, 운송사업자는 연료장치의 일상점검을 통해 천연가스자동차의 시설을 항상 안전한 상태로 유지 관리하는 노력이 필요하다고 요약할 수 있다.

부지환경종합관리시스템 개발과 적용 (Development and Application of SITES)

  • 방사성폐기물 처분시설에 대한 운영 전, 운영 중 및 폐쇄 후 단계에서의 부지환경자료의 지속적 수집 및 관리를 목적으로 한 체계적인 데이터베이스와 전산분석 시스템 구축의 필요성에 의하여 부지환경종합관리시스템(SITES: Site Information and Total Environmental Data Management System)을 개발하였다. 본 시스템은 부지환경 자료관리 및 안전성 재평가에 활용 할 수 있는 통합적인 시스템으로서 부지환경데이터관리시스템(SECURE), 통합안전성평가시스템(SAINT), 부지환경감시시스템(SUDAL), 그리고 SITES지리정보시스템(SITES-GIS)의 4개의 모듈로 구성되어 있다. 각 모듈은 자체 데이터베이스를 통해 자료의 검색, 저장 및 보고서 작성 기능을 가지고 있으며, 부지환경자료를 통합안전성평가시스템에서 직접이용 가능토록 되어 있다. 통합안전성평가시스템은 다수의 평가자가 동시에 이용가능하며, 대상 부지별 안전성평가 결과의 품질보증 체제가 확보되어 있다. 부지환경감시시스템은 평가 예측자료와 환경감시 자료와의 비교분석 및 시각화가 가능하며, 또한 일반인을 위한 주기적 환경감시 자료를 인터넷 홈페이지와 연계하여 공개 가능토록 되어 있다. 부지환경종합관리시스템은 현재 중 저준위 방사성폐기물 처분을 위한 월성원자력환경관리센터에 적용되고 있으며, 원자력관계시설 및 기타 유해환경 산업시설에 대한 부지 및 환경 감시기능의 수준을 고도화하는 데에 기여할 수 있을 것으로 기대된다.

인공위성 (SCIAMACHY) 데이터를 이용한 대류권 SO2, NO2 측정: 2006년 동북아시아 지역의 계절적 SO2, NO2 변화 추세 (Satellite (SCIAMACHY) Measurements of Tropospheric SO2 and NO2: Seasonal Trends of SO2 and NO2 Levels over Northeast Asia in 2006)

  • Anthropogenic emissions of nitrogen oxides and sulfur dioxide in Northeast Asia are of great concern because of their impact on air quality and atmospheric chemistry on regional and intercontinental scales. Satellite remote sensing based on DOAS (Differential Optical Absorption Spectroscopy) technique has been preferred to measure atmospheric trace species and to investigate their emission characteristics on regional and global scales. Absorption spectra obtained by the satellite-born instrument, SCIAMACHY (Scanning Imaging Absorption Spectrometer for Atmospheric Chartography) have been utilized to retrieve the information of $SO_2$ and $NO_2$ over Northeast Asia. $SO_2$ levels over Northeast Asia were in order of East China, Yellow Sea, South Sea and Korean Peninsula with mean vertical columns of $1.78({\pm}1.0){\times}10^{16}$, $1.11({\pm}0.67){\times}10^{16}$, $0.60({\pm}0.63){\times}10^{16}$, $0.71({\pm}0.65){\times}10^{16}\;molecules/cm^2$, respectively. $NO_2$ levels were in order of East China, Yellow Sea, Korean Peninsula, and South Sea with mean vertical columns of $1.2({\pm}0.56){\times}10^{16}$, $0.38({\pm}0.19){\times}10^{16}$, $0.48({\pm}0.28){\times}10^{16}$, $0.26({\pm}0.16){\times}10^{16}\;molecules/cm^2$, respectively. High levels of $SO_2$ and $NO_2$ were observed over East China, in particular in winter by the contribution of heating fuel combustion exhausts. The $SO_2$ and $NO_2$ levels over East China were the highest in January with 34% and 42% higher over the annual means. Low levels of $SO_2$ ranged over Korean peninsula, while $NO_2$ levels were relatively high, in particular in winter. The $SO_2$ and $NO_2$ levels over Yellow Sea were relatively higher compared to those over Korean peninsula and South Sea, which could be mainly attributed to their transport from East China.

D시 내에서 발생하는 바이오매스 및 폐플라스틱 혼합 폐기물의 SRF 전환 포텐셜 분석 (SRF Conversion Potential of Biomass and Mixed Plastic Waste Generated in D City)

  • 본 연구에서는 D시 내의 바이오매스와 폐플라스틱을 적정 비율로 혼합하여 고형연료제품(SRF) 품질기준을 만족하는지 분석하기로 하였다. 수분함량의 경우 바이오매스 구성비가 약 40% 이하일 때부터 9.81% 이하로 분석되었다. 회분함량의 경우 최대 4.19%로 분석되었고, 원소분석 추정식(Steuer, Dulong) 및 발열량계에 근거한 저위발열량은 최소 4,851, 4,181 및 3,847kcal/kg로 나타났다. 원소분석 결과 황(S)과 염소(Cl)는 0.05% 이하로 측정되었고 중금속(Hg, Cd, Pb, As) 함량 또한 기준치 이하를 나타냄으로써 SRF 품질기준치를 만족하였다. 이러한 결과를 바탕으로, 현재 적절하게 활용되지 못하고 산림에 버려져 있는 임목부산물을 효율적으로 사용할 수 있을 뿐만 아니라 수분에 약한 목재의 물리적 특성을 플라스틱으로 보완할 수 있을 것으로 사료된다. 또한 플라스틱 소각 시 고온으로 인한 소각로의 수명문제도 비교적 완화시킬 수 있을 것으로 판단하였다.

1997~2005년 제주시 지역 강수의 산성화 및 중화 특성 연구 (Study on Acidification and Neutralization Characteristics of Precipitation in JejuCity between 1997 and 2005)

  • Total 438 precipitation samples were collected in Jeju City between 1997 and 2005, and their major ionic components were analyzed. The comparison tests using ion balance, electric conductivity and acid fraction were performed. It was found their correlation coefficients were in the range of 0.977$\sim$0.994, indicating the good quality of collected dam. The volume-weighted mean pH and electric conductivity were 4.8 and 23.0 $\mu$S/cm, respectively. with the ionic strength of 0.23$\pm$0.20 mM. The marine ($Na^+$, $Mg^{2+}$, and $CI^-$), anthropogenic (nss$SO_4{2-}$, $NO_3^-$, and $NH_4^+$) and soil (nss-$Ca^{2+}$) species have contributed to the ionic components of precipitation samples with 43$\sim$74%, 16$\sim$37% and $\sim$5%, respectively. The seasonal variations of $NO_3^-$ and nss-$SO_4^{2-}$ showed a distinct seasonality with higher concentrations in winter than summer, indicating an increase of fossil fuel consumption and a possibility of long-range transport of those pollutants from continental area along the dominant winter westerly. The levels of nss-$Ca^{2+}$ also were appeared the highest in winter and increased comparatively in spring season. possibly due to the soil influences including the Asian Dust. The acidification contribution of nss-$SO_4^{2-}$ and $NO_3^-$ showed 88$\sim$96%, and the free acidity was in the range of 6.0$\sim$40.1%. Interestingly, the backward trajectories for the case of upper 10% nss-$SO_4^{2-}$ and $NO_3^-$ levels have passed through the China continent before their arrival to Jeju. The precipitation of pH below 4.5 has been occurred frequently when the trajectory's path lied over the China continents. On the other hand, the air masses from the North Pacific area were characterized by lower 10% of nss-$SO_4^{2-}$- and $NO_3^-$ concentration, which demonstrated that air mass from the North Pacific was the cleanest among air masses moved to Jeju.

서천 추동리 문화유적에서 채취된 숯의 수종식별과 물리적 특성 (Identification and Physical Characteristics of the Ancient Charcoals Excavated from Chudong-ri Site, Korea)

  • 서천 추동리 문화유적내 토과목관묘에서 출토된 숯과 인근의 기와가마에서 연료로 사용되었던 나무의 숯을 채취하여 수종을 식별하고 각각의 흡습성과 가스 흡착성을 비교하였다. 총 23점의 숯 시료에 대해서 수종을 식별한 결과 토광목관묘에서 출토된 12점의 숯은 모두 활엽수 숯으로 9점이 참나무속의 상수리나무아속 계통, 3점이 팽나무속 숯인 것으로 밝혀졌다. 한편 기와가마에서 출토된 11점의 숯은 모두 침엽수로 경송류의 소나무류인 것으로 식별되었다. 출토 숯의 물리적 성질을 조사한 결과 토광목관묘의 활엽수 숯이 기와가마의 소나무류 숯보다 높은 흡습성을 나타냈으며 에틸렌 가스 흡착 시험에서도 상수리나무아속 숯이 소나무류 숯보다 높은 가스 흡착성을 보였다. 토광목관묘 유구에 활엽수 숯을 사용한 이유는 침엽수 숯에 비하여 활엽수 숯이 미세 세공이 많고 비표면적이 넓어 수분과 가스 흡착력이 우수하여 묘광 내에 보다 양질의 매장 환경을 조성할 수 있기 때문으로 판단된다. 한편, 기와가마에서 소나무류를 연료로 사용한 이유는 비중이 작아 재질이 연하여 연소가 잘되고 특히 재내에 다량의 수지(송진)를 함유하고 있어 발열량이 높고 비교적 화력 조절이 용이했기 때문으로 판단된다.

한국, 일본, 글로벌 택배기업의 효율성 및 생산성 비교 분석 (Comparative Analysis on Efficiency and Productivity for Korea, Japan and Global Parcel Delivery Companies)

  • Purpose - The parcel delivery service(courier) industry all over the world has been expanding its market so far, but its growth has been declining in recent years. In this situation, most parcel delivery companies are having trouble with managing themselves because of the pressure from the customer to increase service level and decrease the rate. The purpose of this study is to provide ways to improve competitive advantages of the parcel delivery service industry by evaluating the multi-period operating efficiency of Korea, Japan and global service providers. Research design, data, and methodology - The data for the period of 2011 to 2014 were collected from the annual reports published by parcel delivery companies. In this study, we analyze the marketability (revenue), profitability (operating profits), and management conditions (net profits) of parcel service companies by combining information on human resources (number of employees) and material resources (total assets and equity). Therefore, the number of employees, total assets, and equity are selected as input variables, and revenue, operating profits, and net profits as the output variables. In this study, DEA (Data Envelopment Analysis) is used to measure the comparative efficiency and MPI (Malmquist Productivity Index) is used to analyze the trend of change of the efficiency for a multi-year period. Results - The operational efficiency scores of medium-sized parcel delivery companies in Korea are higher than other larger competitors such as Korean, Japan and Global larger companies. As of 2014, Logen(1.878) was found to be the most efficient parcel delivery enterprise, followed by KGB (1.224), and Kyoungdong(1.002). Otherwise, Hanjin(0.235), CJ(0.262), Hyundai Logistics(0.657), DHL(0.611), UPS(0.766), FedEx(0.498), TNT(0.350), Yamato(0.762) and Sagawa(0.520), larger sized companies, were done inefficiently. The productivity of parcel delivery companies is influenced by endogenous factors as well as exogenous ones such as changes in business environment and technological advances. Conclusions - Korean medium-sized companies have relatively high efficiency scores in operation. That is why they still survive the competitive market in Korea where market restructuring on the industry has been expected to be conducted for many years. The reason why medium-sized couriers had higher efficient scores than larger couriers is that most of couriers spend more operating expenses versus unit price of delivery which is the amount of money that is needed in order to send a package by parcel service. So the delivery unit price must be taken into account by all the expenses associated with the cost of fuel, labor and maintenance expenses for facilities, etc. therefore, the unit price must be increased to strengthen business competitive power. In order for the industry to have more competitive advantage, the companies need to make profits by increasing demand volume and raising the delivery rate to provide high-quality delivery service to customers. And both endogenous and exogenous change must take precedence in order to strengthen their competitiveness.

서해연안 도시지역의 대기질 특성 연구: 군산시 산업단지와 전주시 도로변에서 VOCs 농도분포 특성 연구 (Characteristics of Air Quality in the West Coastal Urban Atmosphere; Characteristics of VOCs Concentration Measured from an Industrial Complex Monitoring Station at Gunsan and a Roadside Station at Jeonju)

  • The study was performed to elucidate the characteristics of VOCs at distinct monitoring sites in urban atmosphere; one is at a roadside in downtown inland city of Jeonju, and the other is at an industrial site in Gunsan near coastal area. The ambient samples were collected for 24 hours in two-bed adsorbent tubes by using MTS-32 sequential tube sampler equipped with Flex air pump every 16 days in a roadside and a industrial complex from February to November in 2009. VOCs were determined by thermal desorption coupled with GC/MSD. Major individual VOCs in roadside samples were shown as following order in magnitude: toluene>m,p-xylene>ethyl benzene>decanal; and those in the industrial complex samples were as follows: toluene>ethanol>ethyl acetate>decanal>m,pxylene. High benzene concentration in the roadside was more frequently occurred than in the industrial complex. However ambient level of toluene in the industrial complex was higher than that in the road side. Results from roadside sample analysis showed that nonane and 1,2,4-trimethylbenzene were very frequently observed with higher concentrations than those in the industrial complex. It seems that nonane and 1,2,4-trimethylbenzene could be the source characteristics for the roadside air. From the diurnal variation, it was found that concentrations of benzene, ethylbenzene, xylene, nonane and 1,2,4-trimethylbenznene in the roadside were higher during rush hours; but those in the industrial complex were higher from 10 to 16 LST when the industrial activities were animated. On weekly base, the concentration of benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene and m,p-xylene in the roadside were higher specifically on Wednesday, but those in the industrial complex were higher on Sunday. It was found that the general trends of VOCs levels at both sites significantly influence on seasonal changes. The results of factor analysis showed that the VOCs in the roadside were mainly affected by the emission of vehicles and the evaporation of diesel fuel, meanwhile those in the industrial complex were influenced by the evaporation of solvents and vehicular emission.

미곡의 건조 적정 온도에 관한 연구 (Studies on the suitable temperature for rice drying)

  • 순환식 곡물건조기의 열풍온도별 미질특성을 구명하여 건조적정온도를 확립하기 위하여 2톤 규모의 순환식 열풍건조기를 이용 열풍건조온도를 $40^{\circ}C$에서 $70^{\circ}C$까지 $5^{\circ}C$간격으로 하여 수분함량 24%에서 15%까지 건조하는데 건조효율 및 건조벼의 미질 특성을 조사하였던바 열풍건조 온도별 소요된 건조일수는 온도가 높을수록 짧았고 석유소요량은 적었다. 동할립은 $40{\sim}55^{\circ}C$로 건조하였을 때 $3{\sim}10^{\circ}C$였으나 $55^{\circ}C$에서 $70^{\circ}C$까지 건조하였을 땐 $19{\sim}30%$로 매우 높았으며, 발아율은 40 및 $45^{\circ}C$으로 건조하였을 때 각각 98 및 93%였으나 $50^{\circ}C$로 건조하였을 때 86%로 감소하였으며, $70^{\circ}C$로 건조하였을 때는 30%밖에 안되었다. 도정율은 $40^{\circ}C$의 75.86%보다 60, 65 및 $70^{\circ}C$에서 각각 1.76, 2.63 및 7.52% 감소하였다. 또한 백미의 완전립율도 건조온도가 높아짐에 따라 감소하였는데 $60^{\circ}C$에서부터 감소폭이 급증하는 경향이었다. 알카리 붕괴도 및 호화응집성은 건조 온도가 높아짐에 따라 낮아졌으며 $60^{\circ}C$에서 그 폭이 컸다. 취반미는 흡수율, 용적팽창율, 취반용액중의 용출고형물 및 요드 정색도가 증가하였는데 일반적으로 $60^{\circ}C$에서 증가 폭이 컸다.

Cu-7Al-2.5Si 합금의 기계적 및 내식특성에 미치는 열처리 효과 (Effect of the Heat Treatment on the Mechanical Property and Corrosion Resistance of CU - 7Al - 2.5Si Alloy)

  • Recently, the fuel oil of diesel engines of marine ships has been increasingly changed to heavy oil of low quality as the oil price is getting higher and higher. Therefore, the spiral gear attached at the motor of the oil purifier which plays an important role to purify the heavy oil is also easy to expose at severe environmental condition due to the purification of the heavy oil in higher temperature. Thus, the material of the spiral gear requires a better mechanical strength, wear and corrosion resistance. In this study, the heat treatment(tempering) with various holding time at temperature of $500^{\circ}C$ was carried out to the alloy of Cu-7Al-2.5Si as centrifugal casting, and the properties of both hardness and corrosion resistance with and without heat treatment were investigated with observation of the microstructure and with electrochemical methods, such as measurement of corrosion potential, cathodic and anodic polarization curves, cyclic voltammogram, and a.c. impedance. in natural seawater solution. The ${\alpha}$, ${\beta}^{\prime}$ and ${\gamma}_2$ phases were observed in the material in spite of no heat treatment due to quenching effect of a spin mold. However, their phases, that is, ${\beta}^{\prime}$ and ${\gamma}_2$ phases decreased gradually with increasing the holding time at a constant temperature of $500^{\circ}C$. The hardness more or less decreased with heat treatment, however its corrosion resistance was improved with the heat treatment. Furthermore, the longer holding time, the better corrosion resistance. In addition, when the holding time was 48hrs, its corrosion current density showed the lowest value. The pattern of corroded surface was nearly similar to that of the pitting corrosion, and this morphology was greatly observed in the case of no heat treatment. It is considered that ${\gamma}_2$ phase at the grain boundary was corroded preferentially as an anode. However, the pattern of general corrosion exhibited increasingly due to decreasing the ${\gamma}_2$ phase with heat treatment. Consequently, it is suggested that the corrosion resistance of Cu-7Al-2.5Si alloy can be improved with the heat treatment as a holding time for 48 hrs at $500^{\circ}C$.
