고분자 전해질 연료전지에서 sPEEK 막을 이용한 전극과 막 합체(MEA)의 열화에 관한 연구 (Study on the Degradation of MEA Using Sulfonated Poly(ether ether ketone) Membrane in Proton Exchange Membrane Fuel Cells)

  • 최근에 저가의 고분자 전해질 연료전지(Proton Exchange Membrane Fuel Cells, PEMFC)용 비불소계 전해질 막 연구개발이 활발히 진행되고 있다. 본 연구에서는 sulfonated Poly (ether ether ketone) (sPEEK) MEA 내구성을 시험하기 위해 열화 가속화 기법을 이용하여 막과 전극이 동시에 열화되는 MEA 열화 실험을 진행하였다. 열화 전과 후에 I-V 분극곡선, 수소투과도, 전극 활성 면적, 막 저항과 부하 전달 저항을 측정하여 열화 전과 후를 비교하였다. sPEEK 막의 수소 투과도는 낮았지만, 저가습 OCV 조건에서 발생하는 라디칼에 Nafion과 같은 불소계막보다 sPEEK 막이 약했다. MEA 열화 실험 결과 144시간 후와 271시간 후 성능이 각각 15%와 65% 감소하였다. 144이후 급격한 성능감소의 주요인은 막에 발생한 핀홀의 Pt/C 입자에 의한 shorting 현상이라고 본다.

  • 수소연료전지자동차(FCV)의 핵심은 고분자고체형연료전지(Polymer Solid Fuell Cell: PEFC)이고 전지 중에서 전기화학적 전기를 발생하는 핵심 소재는 백금촉매이다. 백금은 남아프리카와 러시아 등에 편재되어있고, 백금의 세계생산량은 연간 약 178톤이고 고가이므로 리싸이클링 한다. 현재 PEFC에 Pt를 사용하는 양은 $0.2{\sim}0.1mg/cm^2$인데, 전지의 가격을 줄여서 FCV보급을 확대하기 위하여 사용하는 Pt양을 $0.05{\sim}0.03mg/cm^2$까지 감소시키는 것을 목표로 하여 각국이 연구 개발하고 있다. 나노배금 제조기술은 건식법과 습식법으로 크게 나누며 습식환원법을 중심으로 제조하는 방식이 Pt를 제조하는데 유리하다. 나노Pt를 이용하여 폴리올법, 개량형 Cu-UPD/Pt 치환법 및 나노캡슐법 등에 의해 $Pt-Pd/Al_2O_3$, Pt/C, Pt/GCB, Pt/Au/C, PtCo/C, PtPd/C 등의 Pt촉매가 연구 개발되고 있으며, Pt촉매의 활성향상 및 안정화 기술 등이 보고되고 있다. 본고는 나노Pt와 나노Pt촉매의 제조기술 및 폐 촉매의 리사이클링 및 Pt촉매의 응용기술 경향을 조사 분석하였다.

배출가스 중 응축성미세먼지 특성 연구 (A Study on the Characteristics of Condensable Fine Particles in Flue Gas)

  • The study evaluated methods to measure condensable fine particles in flue gases and measured particulate matter by fuel and material to get precise concentrations and quantities. As a result of the method evaluation, it is required to improve test methods for measuring Condensable Particulate Matter (CPM) emitted after the conventional Filterable Particulate Matter (FPM) measurement process. Relative Standard Deviation (RSD) based on the evaluated analysis process showed that RSD percentages of FPM and CPM were around 27.0~139.5%. As errors in the process of CPM measurement and analysis can be caused while separating and dehydrating organic and inorganic materials from condensed liquid samples, transporting samples, and titrating ammonium hydroxide in the sample, it is required to comply with the exact test procedures. As for characteristics of FPM and CPM concentrations, CPM had about 1.6~63 times higher concentrations than FPM, and CPM caused huge increase in PM mass concentrations. Also, emission concentrations and quantities varied according to the characteristics of each fuel, the size of emitting facilities, operational conditions of emitters, etc. PM in the flue gases mostly consisted of CPM (61~99%), and the result of organic/inorganic component analysis revealed that organic dusts accounted for 30~88%. High-efficiency prevention facilities also had high concentrations of CPM due to large amounts of $NO_x$, and the more fuels, the more inorganic dusts. As a result of comparison between emission coefficients by fuel and the EPA AP-42, FPM had lower result values compared to that in the US materials, and CPM had higher values than FPM. For the emission coefficients of the total PM (FPM+CPM) by industry, that of thermal power stations (bituminous coal) was 71.64 g/ton, and cement manufacturing facility (blended fuels) 18.90 g/ton. In order to estimate emission quantities and coefficients proper to the circumstances of air pollutant-emitting facilities in Korea, measurement data need to be calculated in stages by facility condition according to the CPM measurement method in the study. About 80% of PM in flue gases are CPM, and a half of which are organic dusts that are mostly unknown yet. For effective management and control of PM in flue gases, it is necessary to identify the current conditions through quantitative and qualitative analysis of harmful organic substances, and have more interest in and conduct studies on unknown materials' measurements and behaviors.

광주시 대기오염물질 배출량 변화추이에 관한 연구 (A study on the air pollutant emission trends in Gwangju)

  • We conclude the following with air pollution data measured from city measurement net administered and managed in Gwangju for the last 7 years from January in 2001 to December in 2007. In addition, some major statistics governed by Gwangju city and data administered by Gwangju as national official statistics obtained by estimating the amount of national air pollutant emission from National Institute of Environmental Research were used. The results are as follows ; 1. The distribution by main managements of air emission factory is the following ; Gwangju City Hall(67.8%) > Gwangsan District Office(13.6%) > Buk District Office(9.8%) > Seo District Office(5.5%) > Nam District Office(3.0%) > Dong District Office(0.3%) and the distribution by districts of air emission factory ; Buk District(32.8%) > Gwangsan District(22.4%) > Seo District(21.8%) > Nam District(14.9%) > Dong District(8.1%). That by types(Year 2004~2007 average) is also following ; Type 5(45.2%) > Type 4(40.7%) > Type 3(8.6%) > Type 2(3.2%) > Type 1(2.2%) and the most of them are small size of factory, Type 4 and 5. 2. The distribution by districts of the number of car registrations is the following ; Buk District(32.8%) > Gwangsan District(22.4%) > Seo District(21.8%) > Nam District(14.9%) > Dong District(8.1%) and the distribution by use of car fuel in 2001 ; Gasoline(56.3%) > Diesel(30.3%) > LPG(13.4%) > etc.(0.2%). In 2007, there was no ranking change ; Gasoline(47.8%) > Diesel(35.6%) > LPG(16.2%) >etc.(0.4%). The number of gasoline cars increased slightly, but that of diesel and LPG cars increased remarkably. 3. The distribution by items of the amount of air pollutant emission in Gwangju is the following; CO(36.7%) > NOx(32.7%) > VOC(26.7%) > SOx(2.3%) > PM-10(1.5%). The amount of CO and NOx, which are generally generated from cars, is very large percentage among them. 4. The distribution by mean of air pollutant emission(SOx, NOx, CO, VOC, PM-10) of each county for 5 years(2001~2005) is the following ; Buk District(31.0%) > Gwangsan District(28.2%) > Seo District(20.4%) > Nam District(12.5%) > Dong District(7.9%). The amount of air pollutant emission in Buk District, which has the most population, car registrations, and air pollutant emission businesses, was the highest. On the other hand, that of air pollutant emission in Dong District, which has the least population, car registrations, and air pollutant emission businesses, was the least. 5. The average rates of SOx for 5 years(2001~2005) in Gwangju is the following ; Non industrial combustion(59.5%) > Combustion in manufacturing industry(20.4%) > Road transportation(11.4%) > Non-road transportation(3.8%) > Waste disposal(3.7%) > Production process(1.1%). And the distribution of average amount of SOx emission of each county is shown as Gwangsan District(33.3%) > Buk District(28.0%) > Seo District(19.3%) > Nam District(10.2%) > Dong District(9.1%). 6. The distribution of the amount of NOx emission in Gwangju is shown as Road transportation(59.1%) > Non-road transportation(18.9%) > Non industrial combustion(13.3%) > Combustion in manufacturing industry(6.9%) > Waste disposal(1.6%) > Production process(0.1%). And the distribution of the amount of NOx emission from each county is the following ; Buk District(30.7%) > Gwangsan District(28.8%) > Seo District(20.5%) > Nam District(12.2%) > Dong District(7.8%). 7. The distribution of the amount of carbon monoxide emission in Gwangju is shown as Road transportation(82.0%) > Non industrial combustion(10.6%) > Non-road transportation(5.4%) > Combustion in manufacturing industry(1.7%) > Waste disposal(0.3%). And the distribution of the amount of carbon monoxide emission from each county is the following ; Buk District(33.0%) > Seo District(22.3%) > Gwangsan District(21.3%) > Nam District(14.3%) > Dong District(9.1%). 8. The distribution of the amount of Volatile Organic Compound emission in Gwangju is shown as Solvent utilization(69.5%) > Road transportation(19.8%) > Energy storage & transport(4.4%) > Non-road transportation(2.8%) > Waste disposal(2.4%) > Non industrial combustion(0.5%) > Production process(0.4%) > Combustion in manufacturing industry(0.3%). And the distribution of the amount of Volatile Organic Compound emission from each county is the following ; Gwangsan District(36.8%) > Buk District(28.7%) > Seo District(17.8%) > Nam District(10.4%) > Dong District(6.3%). 9. The distribution of the amount of minute dust emission in Gwangju is shown as Road transportation(76.7%) > Non-road transportation(16.3%) > Non industrial combustion(6.1%) > Combustion in manufacturing industry(0.7%) > Waste disposal(0.2%) > Production process(0.1%). And the distribution of the amount of minute dust emission from each county is the following ; Buk District(32.8%) > Gwangsan District(26.0%) > Seo District(19.5%) > Nam District(13.2%) > Dong District(8.5%). 10. According to the major source of emission of each items, that of oxides of sulfur is Non industrial combustion, heating of residence, business and agriculture and stockbreeding. And that of NOx, carbon monoxide, minute dust is Road transportation, emission of cars and two-wheeled vehicles. Also, that of VOC is Solvent utilization emission facilities due to Solvent utilization. 11. The concentration of sulfurous acid gas has been 0.004ppm since 2001 and there has not been no concentration change year by year. It is considered that the use of sulfurous acid gas is now reaching to the stabilization stage. This is found by the facts that the use of fuel is steadily changing from solid or liquid fuel to low sulfur liquid fuel containing very little amount of sulfur element or gas, so that nearly no change in concentration has been shown regularly. 12. Concerning changes of the concentration of throughout time, the concentration of NO has been shown relatively higher than that of $NO_2$ between 6AM~1PM and the concentration of $NO_2$ higher during the other time. The concentration of NOx(NO, $NO_2$) has been relatively high during weekday evenings. This result shows that there is correlation between the concentration of NOx and car traffics as we can see the Road transportation which accounts for 59.1% among the amount of NOx emission. 13. 49.1~61.2% of PM-10 shows PM-2.5 concerning the relationship between PM-10 and PM-2.5 and PM-2.5 among dust accounts for 45.4%~44.5% of PM-10 during March and April which is the lowest rates. This proves that particles of yellow sand that are bigger than the size $2.5\;{\mu}m$ are sent more than those that are smaller from China. This result shows that particles smaller than $2.5\;{\mu}m$ among dust exist much during July~August and December~January and 76.7% of minute dust is proved to be road transportation in Gwangju.

골재 입도분포가 도로포장용 롤러전압 콘크리트에 미치는 영향 연구 (A Study on the Gradation Effect of the Property of Roller Compacted Concrete Pavement)

  • PURPOSES : The use of environmentally friendly construction methods has been recently encouraged to reduce fuel consumption and the effects of global warming. For this purpose, the roller compacted concrete pavement (RCCP) construction method has been developed. RCCP is more environmentally friendly and economically efficient than general concrete by reducing the amount of CO2 generated through the application of a smaller amount of cement. RCCP has a number of advantages such as an easy construction method, low cost, high structural hydration performance, and aggregate interlocking. However, mix design standards and construction guidelines of RCCP are required for domestic application. In addition, a study on aggregate selection, which has an effect on the characteristics of RCCP, is necessary owing to a limited number of researches. Thus, the aggregate effect on the performance of RCCP in securing the required strength and workability was evaluated in consideration of domestic construction. METHODS : Sand and coarse aggregates of both 19mm and 13mm in maximum size were used in this study. Four types of aggregate gradations (s/a = 30%, 58%, and 70% for the sand and coarse aggregate of 19mm in maximum size, and s/a = 50% for a combination of the three types of aggregates) were set up to investigate the effects of the PCA band on the RCC characteristics. The conditions of s/a = 30% and 70% were evaluated to check the gradation effect outside of the recommended band. The conditions of s/a = 58% and 50% were used because they are the optimum combination of the two and three types of aggregates, respectively. RCCP gradation band was suggested gradation with a proper construction method of RCCP by synthetically comparing and analyzing the correlation of optimum water content, maximum dry density, and strength of requirements through its consistency and compaction test. RESULTS : The lower and upper limit lines are insufficient to secure a relatively strong development and workability compared to an aggregate gradation in the RCCP gradation band region. On the other hand, the line in the RCCP gradation band and the 0.45 power curve in the RCCP gradation band region were satisfactory, ensuring the required strength and workability. CONCLUSIONS : The suitable aggregate gradation on RCCP process should meet the RCCP gradation band area; however, fine particles passing through a #60 sieve do not need to be within the recommended gradation band because the influence of this region on such fine particles is small.

BiDAS를 적용한 원전 해체 공정 시 발생되는 방사성 에어로졸의 내부피폭 영향평가 사전 연구 (A Preliminary Study on the Evaluation of Internal Exposure Effect by Radioactive Aerosol Generated During Decommissioning of NPPs by Using BiDAS)

  • 원전 해체 공정 중 절단 및 용융작업에서 발생되는 방사성 에어로졸은 작업종사자의 호흡을 통해 내부 피폭을 유발하게 된다. 이에 따라 해체 중 방사성 에어로졸로 인한 작업종사자의 내부피폭 평가가 필요한 실정이다. 정확한 내부피폭평가를 위해서는 작업종사자의 작업환경 실측값이 필요하지만 실측에 어려움이 있을 시에는 국제방사선방호위원회(ICRP)에서 제시하는 섭취량 분율 및 입자 크기 등의 권고 값을 통해 내부피폭선량을 추정할 수 있다. 본 논문에서는 입자 크기의 선정은 ICRP에서 권고하는 작업종사자의 고려 입자 크기인 $5{\mu}m$을 적용하였다. 발생량의 경우, 불가리아의 Kozloduy 부지 내의 용융시설에서 발생 된 에어로졸의 포집량 데이터를 이용하여 섭취량을 산정하였다. 또한 이를 이용해 작업종사자의 체내 및 배설물에서의 방사능 수치를 계산하고 BiDAS 전산코드를 통해 내부피폭 평가를 수행하였다. Type M이 0.0341 mSv, Type S가 0.0909 mSv로 두 흡수 형태 각각 국내 연간 선량 한도의 0.17%, 0.45% 수준을 나타내었다.

파일럿 규모의 평다이 성형기로 제조한 유채대 펠릿의 연료적 특성 및 상용화 가능성 평가 (Evaluating the Properties and Commercializing Potential Of Rape Stalk-based Pellets Produced with a Pilot-scaled Flat-die Pellet Mill)

  • 본 연구는 고체 바이오연료 생산용 원료로서 유채대의 상용화 가능성을 평가하기 위하여 수행하였다. 대형 플라스틱통에 넣은 유채대를 1% 농도의 초산 수용액에 침지하여 단리된 환원당의 함량을 분석한 결과, glucose의 함량이 가장 높았으며, 다음으로 xylose, galactose, arabinose, mannose 순으로 조사되었다. 파일럿 규모의 평다이 펠릿성형기를 이용하여 무침지 및 침지 유채대로 연료용 펠릿으로 제조하였다. 펠릿의 겉보기밀도와 발열량은 침지처리 및 목분의 혼합과 함께 증가하였으며, 이 측정치는 International Organization for Standardization(ISO)의 비목재펠릿 A 등급 기준을 크게 상회하였다. 회분 함량도 침지처리와 함께 감소하여 ISO의 A등급 기준을 만족하였다. 펠릿 내구성의 경우, 유채대의 침지처리로 증가하였으며, 펠릿 제조에 목분의 첨가와 함께 향상되었다. 그러나 그 측정치는 ISO의 B등급 기준(≧96.0%)에 미치지 못하였다. 따라서 초산 수용액 침지 유채대로 생산할 비목재 펠릿의 상용화를 위하여 내구성 향상을 위한 바인더의 사용이 필요하다는 결론을 얻었다.

겔화 전처리법을 이용한 폐용융염의 고형화 (Solidification of Molten Salt Waste by Gel-Route Pre-treatment)

  • 본 연구는 사용 후 핵연료의 금속전환 공정에서 발생되는 폐용융염을 고형화하는 방법으로 GRSS(Gel-Route Slabilization/Solidifcation)개념을 이용한 전처 리법을 제안하였다. Sodium silicate와 H3p04로 구성된 물질계에서는 SiO$_2$에 의해 형성되는 반응모듈 내에서 휘발성 핵종은 열적으로 안정한 화합물로 전환된다. 얻어진 생성물은 붕규산 유리매질과의 반응을 통하여 Li는 Li$_{3}$PO$\_4$ 형태로 유지되며 Cs 및 Sr은 유리매질내에 포용될 수 있다. 또한 sodium silicate, H$_{3}$PO$_4$ 및 ZrCl$_4$로 이루어진 물질계를 이용하여 내구성이 우수한 WZP 세라믹 고화매질을 합성하였다. $700^{circ}C$이상에서 NZP구조가 형성되며, Cs가 Li보다 우선하여 NZP구조를 형성하였다. 이상의 결과로부터, GRSS를 이용한 폐용융염의 전처리는 단순한 공정과 열적 안정성을 통하여 검증된 고화매질로 고형화가 가능토록하는 유효한 접근법이라 할 수 있으며, 수화학적 안정성의 검증을 통하여 ANL의 제올라이트를 이용한 고화법에 대한 대안이 될 것으로 기대된다.

AAO Template를 이용한 Au/TiO2 나노섬유 제조 및 응용에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Preparation and Application of Au/TiO2 Nanofiber from AAO Template)

  • 본 연구에서는 불순물이 포함된 Al 기판으로부터 두 단계의 양극산화 (anodization) 법에 의해 균일한 나노기공을 갖는 AAO(Anodic Aluminum Oxide)을 제조하였다. 생성된 AAO템플릿 위에 Deposition-Precipitation(DP)방법을 사용하여 수직으로 형성된 $TiO_2$ 나노섬유에 Au를 첨가시켜 2 wt.% $Au/TiO_2$ 나노섬유룰 제조하였다. 두 단계의 양극산화를 통해 규칙적으로 배열된 AAO 기공 형상과 기판 위에 수직으로 배향된 $TiO_2$ 나노섬유의 형상을 SEM을 통해 확인하였다. 또한 $Au/TiO_2$ 나노섬유의 특성은 XRD와 Raman 분석을 통하여 $TiO_2$의 아나타제(anatase)와 루타일(rutile) 결정구조와 $TiO_2$ 나노섬유에 담지된 Au의 존재를 확인하였다. 또한 일산화탄소(CO) 산화반응을 통해 AAO(Anodic Aluminum Oxide)기판 위에 형성된 $TiO_2$와 2 wt% $Au/TiO_2$ 나노섬유의 광촉매적 활성을 비교하였다.

Nb 첨가 핵연료피복관용 Zr 신합금의 부식특성 연구 (Study on Corrosion Characteristic of New Nb-containing Zr based Alloys for Fuel cladding)

  • 본 연구에서는 $360^{\circ}C$ 물 및 $360^{\circ}C$, 70ppm LiOH 수용액 분위기의 static autoclave를 이용하여 새롭게 개발한 Zr 신합금 (Zr-0.4Nb-0.8Sn-xFeCrMn, Zr-0.2Nb-1.1Sn-xFeCrMn, Zr-1.0Nb-xFeCu) 의 부식 특성을 평가하였다. 합금의 미세구조를 광학현미경과 TEM을 이용하여 관찰하였고, 부식시험 중에 생성된 산화막은 SEM과 XRD를 이용하여 단면 및 결정구조를 조사하였다. 부식시험 결과, 3종의 합금 모두 $360^{\circ}C$ 물 분위기보다 $360^{\circ}C$, 70ppm LiOH 수용액 분위기에서의 부식저항성이 감소하였으며 특히, High Nb 합금의 경우 급격한 가속 부식현상을 나타내었다. 합금원소 첨가량과 관련하여 Nb의 함량을 고용도 이내로 줄이고 Sn을 적절히 첨가한 조성의 합금이 Sn을 첨가하지 않고 고용도 이상의 Nb을 가진 합금보다 우수한 부식저항성을 나타내었다. 또한 최종열처리가 부식에 미치는 영향의 경우에, 완전재결정 조직의 합금이 부분재결정 조직을 가진 합금보다 부식저항성이 감소되었는데 이는 기지조직에서 석출하늘 제 2상의 크기 및 분포에 의한 영향으로 사료된다.
