디이젤 기관 연료분사계의 시뮬레이션 (simulation of the fuel-injection system in a diesel engine)

  • Recently, the problem of exhaust gas pollution is increasingly being aggravated by the active use of the Diesel engine. For the fuel-injection system which affects the composition of exhaust gas from the Bosch type single-hole nozzle in the Diesel engine, a mathematical model was set up to study pressure variations in the high pressure pipe, the injection rate, and the needle lift. The fundamental equations of the mathematical model have been solved by the Newton Raphson Method applying the Finite Diffrence Method. The effective stroke of the injection pump plunger due to a change in engine rpm was calculated by the measurement of Control Rack, Pinion, and Plunger sizes and by the use of Characteristic Curve of Governor. The computed results for the pressure variations in the high pressure pipe and needle lift at 800 rpm and 1000 rpm are in good agreement with experimental ones in general. By a developed program, the effects of other various parameters will by calculated for the performance of the fuel-injection system.

전자유압식 초고압 연료분사계의 시뮬레이션에 관한 연구 (Computer Simulation of the Electronic Hydraulic Ultra - High Pressure Fuel Injection System)

  • A computer simulation with predict the fuel injection rates and the fuel injection pressure behaviors in diesel engine fuel injection systems would by very useful in designing or improving fuel injection systems. In this paper we developed computer program in order to predict the behaviors of the fuel injection rate and the injection pressure for Electronic Hydraulic Ultra-High Pressure Fuel Injection System. We've applied the continuity and momentum equations for the hydraulic phenomena and the dynamics of individual components of the Electronic Hydraulic Fuel Injection System. To solve all the equations numerically we've applied the Runge-kutta IV method. Water hammer equations were applied for the hydraulic pipe solution, and the method of characteristics was employed in our calculations. The simulation results were compared with the experimental results for: Accumulator pressure, Injection pressure and unjection rate. As a result, The simulation results agree very well with our experimental results. We found that a large accumulator and the high speed solenoid valve were required, and the compression volume of the fuel had to be as small as possible in order to acheive ultra-high pressure fuel injection.

  • The characteristics of engine performance with fuel injection system in D.I. diesel engine were studied in this paper. A fuel injection system has an important role in the performance and emission gas in a diesel engine. In this paper, an experimental study has been performed to verify the effect of the performance and the emission gas with the factors such as diameters of an injection nozzle hole, diameters of an injection pipe and injection timing in the fuel injection system. The authors have obtained the results that optimizing the factors of fuel injection system is significant to enhance the performance of the engine system and consumption ratio of fuel, smoke, and NOx.

  • 디젤기관의 연료분사계는 연소실과 함께 디젤기관의 성능에 가장 큰 영향을 미치는 요소의 하나로 이에 대한 이해는 디젤연소 규명에 있어서 매우 중요하다. 그러나 이분사계는 발화 및 완전연소에 필요한 무화, 공기의 이용율을 증가시키는 관통성 및 분포성등의 요건뿐만 아니라 요구되는 분사율, 2차분사 그리고 분사펌프와의 결합등의 많은 문제와 연관되어 있다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 이와 같이 복잡한 디젤기관의 연료분사계를 단순화시켜서 펌프측, 노즐측 및 분사파이프측의 세부분으로 나누어 모델링하여 해석함으로써 새로운 연료분사계의 개발을 위한 기초연구자료를 구하는 것을 목적으로 하였다. 분사파이프내의 압력과 분사계의 실험을 통하여 본 모델의 타당성을 검토하였으며 각 분사계에 있어서 분사량을 최대로 하는 분사파이프직경이 존재함을 확인할 수 있었다.

직접 디젤 연료분사계의 분사 특성과 기관 성능 개선에 관한 연구 (Injection Feature and Engine Performance Improvement of the Direct Diesel Fuel Injection System)

  • This study has focused on using fuel injections as variables for measuring performance and reducing exhaust gas in turbo-charger diesel engine. In experiments, we changed nozzle hole diameter, diameter of an injection pipe, and injection timing as variable. The results show that torque. fuel consumption and smoke are reduced as nozzle hole diameter decreases, while NOx increases. When the diameter of injector is reduced, torque, fuel consumption and smoke are deteriorated, but NOx is decreased. In addition, when the time for injection is advanced. torque, fuel consumption and smoke are improved, but the density of NOx is increased.

  • 클린디젤 차량용 커먼레일 시스템의 연료분사관은 연료레일로부터 각각의 엔진 실린더에 연결된 인젝터로 연료를 공급하는 역할을 하며 반복 내압을 받게 된다. EURO 배기가스 배출규정 만족 및 연비향상을 위하여 요구되는 연료의 압력은 200MPa 이상으로 증가하고 있으며, 성형결함이 발생하지 않는 헤딩공정과 내압 피로수명 향상을 위한 자긴처리 기술이 요구되고 있다. 본 논문에서는 250MPa 급 반복내압을 만족할 수 있는 파이프 소재의 유동응력와 고주기 피로 데이터를 각각의 실험을 통하여 확보하였고, 연료분사관 앞 끝의 성형결함 여부를 판단하기 위하여 헤딩공정에 대한 유한요소해석을 수행하였다. 반복내압에 대한 내구수명 향상 및 신뢰성 확보를 위해 자긴공정에 대한 유한요소해석을 통하여 외경부의 인장잔류응력까지 고려한 최적 공정설계 수행 및 피로해석을 통한 설계의 타당성을 검증하였다.

  • Computational investigation was conducted to examine the performance of a high pressure common-rail fuel injection system which is used to power a passenger car direct injection (Dl) diesel engine. The pipe flows were modeled by one dimensional wave equation and solved by implicit FDM Each volume of injector was considered as chambers with orifice nozzle in connections. These simulation results were compared with the experimental data of Ganser Hydromag. The comparison of needle life and rate of injection between simulation data and experimental data showed quite a good agreement Different shape of injection rate can be made by adjusting the size of inlet orifice and exit orifice in the piston chamber The pilot injection was accomplished by adjusting command signal.

  • The pump-pipe-injector system is that most commonly used type of injection equipment for diesel engines. In this study, a new electromagnetic fuel injection system was designed and carried out the experiment of single cylinder direct injection(DI) diesel engine. This system do not need the cam shaft for fuel injection. The effects of the injection timing on the combustion process and emission were investigated. The results are that 1) atomization was improved, 2) combustion pressure was increased and ignition delay became shorter than before, 3) Low smoke level guarantee with more advanced injection timing without abnormal combustion but NOX concentration was increased as the injection time advanced.

초고압 커먼레일 연료분사튜브 원재료 강성 최적화를 위한 인발 공정에서의 Die와 Plug 각도 변경에 따른 해석적 연구 (An Analytical Study by Variation of Die and Plug Angle in Drawing Process for the Strength Optimization of Ultra High Pressure Common Rail Fuel Injection Tube Raw Material)

  • The study is actively being performed to increase fuel injection pressure of common rail system among countermeasures to meet the emission regulation strengthen of the Diesel engine. The common rail fuel injection tube in such ultra high pressure common rail system has the weakest structural characteristics against vibration that is generated by fuel injection pressure and pulsation during engine operation and driving. Thus the extreme durability is required for common rail fuel injection tube, and the drawing process is being magnified as the most important technical fact for strength of seamless pipe that is the raw material of common rail tube. In this respect, we analyzed the characteristic of dimension and stress variation of the ultra high pressure common rail fuel injection tube by variation of Die and Plug angle in drawing process. Based on the analysis, we tried to obtain the raw material strength of common rail fuel injection tube for applying to the ultra high pressure common rail system. As a result, Plug angle is more important than entry angle of Die and we could obtain the target dimension and strength of the ultra high pressure common rail fuel injection tube through optimization of Plug angle.

Effect of the Intake Valve Opening Timings and Fuel Injection Pressures on the Exhaust Emission Characteristics of a Gasoline Engine at Part Load Condition

  • This work has investigated the exhaust emissions such as Total Hydrocarbon (THC), Nitrogen Oxides(NOx), and Particulate Matter (PM) characteristics emitted from the tail-pipe of a continuously variable valve timing (CVVT) gasoline-fueled engine with different intake valve opening timings and injection pressures at the part load condition. Valve overlap period was varied from $40^{\circ}CA$ to $10^{\circ}CA$ and fuel injection pressure was increased from 3.5 bar to 5.0 bar. THC and NOx emissions decreased as intake valve opening timing was advanced regardless of fuel injection pressure. When the fuel was injected with the condition of 5.0 bar at all of valve overlap ranges, THC levels were reduced by 55%. NOx concentrations were diminished about 75% as valve overlap increased. PM size distributions were analyzed as bi-modal type of the nucleation and accumulation mode. Comparing with fuel injection pressures, PM emission levels were decreased at high pressure injection of 5.0 bar condition.
