  • In this paper, the frequency sharing issue between time division duplex-orthogonal frequency division multiplexing/orthogonal frequency division multiple access(TDD-OFDM/OFDMA) based systems beyond third generation(B3G) and fixed Satellite Service(FSS) earth station has been studied. The conventional advanced minimum coupling loss(A-MCL) is adopted to assess the interference from a single base station(BS) of B3G systems. The aggregated interferences from base stations and mobile stations(MS) are evaluated by applying the extended A-MCL and analysed with a cumulative density function(CDF). The minimum distances that enable a single FSS earth station to sharing the frequency with a single BS are between 4 and 53.3 km. In the case of 20 MS per sector, the BS-to-BS distance and the minimum distance between a ES and BS are 6.5 and 2.8 km, respectively.

  • In recent years, owing to the growing user demand for the two-way internet service based on the move global broadband communications, a new type of satellite terminal has developed, known as earth station in motion (ESIM). This service was required by Resolution 158 (WRC-15) to study on the coexistence with the co-primary fixed service (FS) in 27.5-29.5 GHz as a FSS uplink. In this paper, four scenarios was introduced to account for the antenna pointing error and the azimuth for an analysis on the sharing between ESIM and FS. From analysis results, the required separation distance between two systems should be about 32~52 km according to the elevation angles of $20^{\circ}{\sim}40^{\circ}$ using thresholds of 5% and 10% outage probability. Therefore, it is necessary to control the azimuth angle due to a moving terminal as well as the pointing error of ESIM to minimize the required separation distance and to protect the co-primary FS.

This service was required by Resolution 158(WRC-15) to study on the coexistence with the co-primary FS(Fixed Service) in 27.5-29.5 GHz as a FSS(Fixed Satellite Service) uplink. In this paper, the average received power on ESIM within -10 dB of beam width of FS and its outage probability was analyzed theoretically and also simulated to account for the azimuth angle with uniform distribution. From the results, it can be concluded that this theoretical analysis is very useful to analyze the interference from ESIM into FS based on the statistical and probabilistic method. Therefore, it is necessary to control the azimuth angle due to a moving terminal as well as the inclination angle of moving path, the operation hours, and the speed of ESIM to protect the co-primary FS.

  • Objective : This study was performed to report two cases diagnosed with the Shanghanlun disease pattern identification diagnostic system (DPIDS) and treated with Jeodang-tang. Methods : Based on DPIDS, we analyzed two cases treated with Jeodang-tang. Results : In the first case, the bipolar depression rating scale (BDRS) score improved from 44 to 13. In the second case, the fatigue severity scale (FSS) score improved from 55 to 24. Conclusions : In Shanghanlun, Jeodang-tang may not only treat pattern/syndrome of blood stasis but also many other diseases.

  • This paper presents a global mode modeling of space structures and a control scheme from the practical point of view. Since the size of the satellite has become bigger and the accuracy of attitude control more strictly required, it is necessary to consider the structural flexibility of the spacecraft. Although it is well known that the finite element (FE) model can accurately model the flexibility of the satellite, there are associated problems : FE model has the system matrix with high order and does not provide any physical insights, and is available only after all structural features have been decided. Therefore, it is almost impossible to design attitude and orbit controller using FE model unless the structural features are in place. In order to deal with this problem, the control design scheme with the global mode (GM) model is suggested. This paper describes a flexible structure modeling and three-axis controller design process and demonstrates the adequate performance of the design with respect to the maneuverability by applying it to a large flexible spacecraft model.

  • In this note, we propose two methods of adaptive sliding mode control(SMC) schemes in which fuzzy systems(FS) are utilized to approximate the unknown system functions. In the first method, a FS is utilized to approximate the unknown function f of the nonlinear system $\chi$$^{(n)}$$\chi$=f(equation omitted), t)+b(equation omitted), t)u and the robust adaptive law is proposed to reduce the approximation errors between the true nonlinear function and fuzzy approximator, FS. In the second method, two FSs are utilized to approximate f and b, respectively. The robust control law is also designed. The stabilities of proposed control schemes are proved.

  • Audit review is the system to review the audit procedures performed and the audit opinion expressed by the independent auditors. The public audit review performed by Financial Supervisory Service (FSS) is regarded as one of the most important means to maintain the reliability of accounting information in Korea. We examinate the effect of audit review on earnings quality by using ERC (earnings response coefficient). We find that ERC of the sample group which issued the audit error reports after they were reviewed by SSB is more effective and higher than one of the non-reviewed group, matching group. We infer that the audit review system has the effectiveness in Korea.

  • This paper introduces new wideband antenna-filter-antenna (AFA) uniform arrays that can be utilized as frequency selective surfaces (FSS) with low loss and sharp roll-off response, which are highly desirable characteristics for millimeter wave applications. The design adopts a simple 3-layer single polarization structure consisting of two patch antennas and a resonator. Both simulations and measurements are used to characterize the performances of the proposed design. Overall results show 18.5% 10-dB bandwidth. For the targeted band the insertion loss is less than 0.2 dB. Possible applications include quasi-optical amps, grid mixers and radomes for aircraft radar antennas.

  • Several previous works on rocket nozzle flows have revealed the existence of the transition from FSS to RSS and the occurrence of asymmetric flow associated with the boundary layer separation, which can cause excessive side-loads of the propulsion system. Thus, it is of practical importance to investigate the asymmetric flow behaviors of the propulsion nozzle and to develop its control method. In the present study, the asymmetric flow control method using a cavity system was applied to supersonic nozzle flow. Time-dependent asymmetric flow was experimentally investigated with the rate of change of the nozzle pressure ratio. The results obtained showed that the cavity system installed on nozzle wall would be helpful in fixing the unsteady motions of the boundary layer separation, consequently reducing the possibility of the occurrence of the asymmetric flow.

  • This study defines non-precipitation information as areas with weak precipitation or cloud particles that radar cannot detect due to weak returned signals, and suggests methods for its utilization in data assimilation. Previous studies have demonstrated that assimilating radar data from precipitation echoes can produce precipitation in model analysis and improve subsequent precipitation forecast. However, this study also recognizes the non-precipitation information as valuable observation and seeks to assimilate it to suppress spurious precipitation in the model analysis and forecast. To incorporate non-precipitation information into data assimilation, we propose observation operators that convert radar non-precipitation information into hydrometeor mixing ratios and relative humidity for the Weather Research and Forecasting Data Assimilation system (WRFDA). We also suggest a preprocessing method for radar non-precipitation information. A single-observation experiment indicates that assimilating non-precipitation information fosters an environment conducive to inhibiting convection by lowering temperature and humidity. Subsequently, we investigate the impact of assimilating non-precipitation information to a real case on July 23, 2013, by performing a subsequent 9-hour forecast. The experiment that assimilates radar non-precipitation information improves the model's precipitation forecasts by showing an increase in the Fractional Skill Score (FSS) and a decrease in the False Alarm Ratio (FAR) compared to experiments in which do not assimilate non-precipitation information.
