  • With the recent advancement of control method and battery technology, the electric vehicle have been researched to replace the conventional vehicle with electric vehicle with the view point of the environmental concerns and energy conservation. An electric vehicle which is equipped with the independent front steering system and in-wheel motors has advantage in terms of control. For example, the different torque which generated by left and right wheels directly can make yaw moment and the independent steering using outer wheel control is able to reduce the sideslip angle. Using of independent steering and driving system, the 4 wheel electric vehicle can improve a performance better than conventional vehicle. In this paper, we consider the method for improving the cornering performance of independent front steering system and in-wheel motor used electric vehicle with the compensated outer wheel angle and direct yaw moment control. Simulation results show that the method can improve the cornering performance of 4 wheel electric vehicle. We also apply the steering motor failure to steer the vehicle turned by the torque difference without steering. This paper describes an independent front steering and driving, consist of three parts; Vehicle Model, Control Algorithm for independent steering and driving and simulation. First, vehicle model is application of TruckSim software for independent front steering and 4 wheel driving. Second, control algorithm describes the reduced sideslip and direct yaw moment method in view of cornering performance. Last is simulation and verification.

  • In this paper, We introduce electrical tracking generated from surface activity associated with flow of leakage current on insulator under wet and contaminated conditions and design electrical tracking pattern recognition system by using LabVIEW. We measure the leaking current of contaminated wire by using LabVIEW software and the NI-c-DAQ 9172 and NI-9239 hardware. As pattern recognition algorithm and optimization algorithm for electrical tracking system, neural networks, Radial Basis Function Neural Networks(RBFNNs) and particle swarm optimization are exploited. The designed electrical tracking recognition system consists of two parts such as the hardware part of electrical tracking generator, the NI-c-DAQ 9172 and NI-9239 hardware and the software part of LabVIEW block diagram, LabVIEW front panel and pattern recognition-related application software. The electrical tracking system decides whether electrical tracking generate or not on electrical wire.

  • This study focuses on the needs at both consumers and manufacturers. It aims to find ways for consumers to purchase outfits that would fit their particular body type and preferences at reasonable prices, choose raw materials and style at garments, and virtually try them on. In addition, the study is designed to help apparel manufacturers identity customers' changing needs, reduce inventories, manage information on customers' body type in a digitalized form, and eventually contribute to promoting electronic commerce. Based on nine basic patterns that tit each subject, 108 virtual garments are created by adjusting the size of the patterns (9 subjects $\times$ 4 body parts $\times$ 3 patterns = 108 outfits). In order to determine fitting preferences for each body part and find optimized conditions, cross-tabulation analysis including $X^2$ and frequency analysis were performed to measure the appearance rate. A style of virtual garment, which is minus 2cm from chest size was chosen as the most appropriate pattern to the baseline location of front the chest. For the waist parts, the C style as an appropriate virtual garment to front and back view. In the front, lateral and back view, a style was chosen in the response to the sleeve-bodice combinations, the ease amount of armhole area, the armhole depth and the loosening of tightening or armhole line.

  • This research was to study somatotype characteristics of elderly women and to classify them based on the results. It also analyzed the age distribution of the classified types, and the frequency among the age groups. The subjects of the study were 331 women of the age of 55 fears or older. They were measured on the performing anthropometric and photographic measurements. The samples were classified into 4 different types, and the photographic measure of each front and side view also clustered 4 different types. The results of the research are as follows : The somatotype of elderly women in Korea is most likely to be H-shaped, which shows a slight refraction when viewed from a front. When viewed from a side, an appearance off straight somatotype is common among the age of 70 or younger. However, the age of 70 or older appears to have swayback somatotype. This means that women are likely to reserve their straight body figure from their middle-age until the age of 70. The major somatotype characteristic of old age, a stooped body shape, is more frequently seen as they get older.

  • In this study, the photographic and anthropometric measurements of men in the 20's were made. and pattern making professionals visually evaluated their side photos to classify lateral views. These data were analyzed by being compared with existing research results to select objective standards, and body types were classified according to the selected standard. In addition, body features were defined according to lateral views based on measurement items and indices, and standard lines and determining factors for visual evaluation which determines lateral views were revealed. Back length - front length size smaller than 1.5cm was named as the lean-back type, 1.5∼3.9cm was named as the straight type. and that larger than 3.9cm was named as the bend-forward type. In the straight type, the bisection point of waist depth was located at a similar place to tragion level vertical line. In the lean-back type, the point was at the front of tragion level vertical line. In the bend-forward type, the point was at the back of tragion level vertical line.

  • A measurement technique for the void fraction and the bubble dynamics in gas-liquid two-phase flows has been proposed using a time-resolved two-phase PIV system. For the three-dimensional evaluation of the bubble information, both the images from the front and side views are simultaneously recorded into a high speed CCD camera by reflecting the side image into the front view with the help of a $45^{\circ}$ oriented mirror. Then, a stereo-matching technique is applied to calculate the void fraction, bubble size and shape. To obtain the rising bubble velocities, the 2-frame PTV method was applied. Consequently, the present technique shows good feasibility for the measurements of the volume fractions, mean diameters, aspect ratios and velocities of the bubbles at the three-dimensional point of view.

  • In this paper, we present a method that can recognize face images by use of a sparse population code that is a learning model about a receptive fields of the simple cells in the primary visual cortex. Twenty front-view facial images form twenty persons were used for the training process, and 200 varied facial images, 20 per person, were used for test. The correct recognition rate was 100% for only the front-view test facial images, which include the images either with spectacles or of various expressions, while it was 90% in average for the total input images that include rotated faces. We analyzed the effect of nonlinear functon that determine the sparseness, and compared recognition rate using the sparese population code with that using eigenvectors (eigenfaces), which is compact code that makes contrast with the sparse population code.

  • Nagan walled town is located on an axis connecting symbolic places, which is a lucky place from the Fengshui point of view because a mountain sits to the rear and a body of water sits to the front. It represents the environmental development of cultural space by blending folk belief, religion, social systems, adminstration facilities and living culture buildings. Therefore, it has a sustainable cultural view connected with a formed or formless religious view and an artificial view (walls, government buildings, living houses, cultivated lands, etc.) in a natural landscape. Environmental design techniques, enlarging the meaning and value of living on a mental level, can be found in the arrangement of space composition and settlement of Nagan walled town. The organised spaces of government and residential areas were constructed within the wall with the view of searching for lucky places (from best, better and good places) in order to construct ecological networks according to the outlooks of space and settlement.
