  • Inclined Earth Retaining Structure Method (IER Method), was developed in order to improve the mechanical properties of the existing earth retaining method. IER consists of two supports, which are front and back supports. In the IER method, back support is very effective for the reduction of the earth pressure acting on the front support. In this study, the effects of back support and fixing conditions of lower ends of supports are analysed by laboratory model tests in clay. The test results show that back support reduces the Leteral displacement of IER effectively, and according to the results the effect of interval and fixing condition of back support was analysed.

  • All things connected to the Internet have to ensure interoperability between each other. Web of Things (WoT) is an Internet of Things (IoT) Web standard technology that enables the communication between smart devices and web-based applications. In order for WoT to be possible, monitoring of all devices connected to the Internet have to be possible. To this end, various efforts are being made to develop network monitoring applications using the latest Web front-end frameworks, not traditional web-based monitoring. This paper examines and describes the possibilities of applying Web front-end frameworks such as React, Angular and Svelte to the development of network monitoring applications for WoT. This paper also describes the pros and cons of two major frameworks, React and Angular, in developing monitoring applications that support the cross-platforms and cross-browsers in WoT environments and examines the applicability of them by developing simple network monitoring applications using React.

  • Rock Mass classifications have been developed in many European countries. The most widely used classification methods are the Rock Mass Rating (RMR) system proposed by Bieniawski(1973) and the Q-system developed By Barton et al. (1974). These methods are also adopted at many mountain tunnels and subway sites in our country. Here, a geomechanical classification for slopeds in rock, the "Slope Mass Rating"(SMR) is presented for the preliminary assessment of slope stabiliyt. This method can be applied to excavation and support design in the front part of tunnel and cutting area as a guide line and recommendation on support methods which allow a systemmetic use of geomechanical classification for rock slopes.

  • There are rural development policy for creating liveable rural. The support structure of the capacity phase of the Master Plan of Comprehensive Rural Village Development Project would that one. The support structure of the capacity phase has implied the assumption that the accumulated capacity of the village to the previous step will have a significant impact on the business to the next level. Rural development should be understood that simple: rather than for business applications, processes community is going to build capacity through continuous learning and practice. Its accumulated capacity should be possible to predict and then steps must be developed continuously for a long time, looking at the previous phase. Thus, according to the support structure of the capacity phase, it should be applied a causal relationship between the front and rear phase.

  • The purpose of the study was to obtain the basic data on the self-adjusting ability of the support panty stockings. Ten healthy women in the twenties were selected as subjects and clothing pressure of 9 support panty stockings made of single covered yarn (SCY) and double covered yarn (DCY) were measured under the standard environmental condition for the study. Data was analysed statistically according to body postures, sides, and parks. The results were as follows: Clothing pressure according to body posture was order of 'sitting-on-a-chair', 'stepping-up-a-stair', and 'standing'. High clothing pressure was obtained in the parts of calf ($9.4gf/cm^2$) in 'standing' and knee (9.7 and $16.5gf/cm^2$) in both 'stepping-up-a-stair' and 'sitting-on-a-chair', respectively. The order of clothing pressure with body sides was 'front', 'side', and 'back'. The highest clothing pressure was knee ($18.8gf/cm^2$) on the front, thigh ($8.8gf/cm^2$) on the side, and calf ($6.4gf/cm^2$) on the back. Clothing pressure of DCY at abdomen and knee was a little higher than those of SCY 3. In terms of material structure variation, clothing pressure of thigh, calf and ankle with SCY was a little higher than those with DCY, while clothing pressure of abdomen and knee with DCY was a little higher than those with SCY.

  • A set of slurry shield test system capable of cutter cutting and slurry automatic circulation is used to investigate the deformation characteristics, the evolution characteristics of support resistance and the distribution and evolution process of earth pressure during excavating and collapsing of slurry shield tunneling in circular-gravel layer. The influence of cover-span ratio on surface subsidence, support resistance and failure mode of excavation face is also discussed. Three-dimensional numerical calculations are performed to verify the reliability of the test results. The results show that, with the decrease of the supporting force of the excavation face, the surface subsidence goes through four stages: insensitivity, slow growth, rapid growth and stability. The influence of shield excavation on the axial earth pressure of the front soil is greater than that of the vertical earth pressure. When the support resistance of the excavation face decreases to the critical value, the soil in front of the excavation face collapses. The shape of the collapse is similar to that of a bucket. The ultimate support resistance increase with the increase of the cover-span ratio, however, the angle between the bottom of the collapsed body and the direction of the tunnel excavation axis when the excavation face is damaged increase first and then becomes stable. The surface settlement value and the range of settlement trough decrease with the increase of cover-span ratio. The numerical results are basically consistent with the model test results.

  • To find the emerging patterns (EPs) in streaming transaction data, the streaming is first divided into some time windows containing a number of transactions. Itemsets are generated from transactions in each window, and then the emergence of itemsets is evaluated between two windows. In the tilted-time windows model (TTWM), it is assumed that people need support data with finer accuracy from the most recent windows, while accepting coarser accuracy from older windows. Therefore, a limited array's elements are used to maintain all support data in a way that condenses old windows by merging them inside one element. The capacity of elements that accommodates the windows inside is modeled using a particular number sequence. However, in a stream, as new data arrives, the current array updating mechanisms lead to many null elements in the array and cause data incompleteness and inaccuracy problems. Two models derived from TTWM, logarithmic TTWM and Fibonacci windows model, also inherit the same problems. This article proposes a novel push-front Fibonacci windows model as a solution, and experiments are conducted to demonstrate its superiority in finding more EPs compared to other models.

  • Recently, automotive companies have invested in vehicle weight reduction and clean car development because of oil price rises and environmental problems. In particular, USA car makers have developed the vehicle spending 1 liter per 34km complying with PNGV(Partnership for a new generation of vehicle) and Europe car makers have developed the vehicle spending 3 liters per 100km. The USA government announced "The green car policy" in order to boost production of more fuel effective cars in 2009. According to the policy, it will be restricted to sell the car which spends more than 1 liter per 14.9km by 2020. To satisfy the current situations on automotive market, hydroforming technology has widely adapted vehicle structures such as engine cradle, chassis frame, A pillar, radiator support, etc. However, automotive companies have to consider formability and performance to improve and maximize the benefit from this technology in advance of detail design. The paper deals with one of the vehicle weight reduction methods using tube hydroforming technology and platform commonality in front suspension. FEA simulation is also introduced to evaluate hydro-formability and NVH performance at the beginning of design stage which is the best way to reduce the failure cost.
